Has anyone tried the redfly on the HD?
I am thinking of getting a Redfly but hope to be upgrading my TytnII to HD in Jan.
If the Redfly doesn't work with HD I might wait.
Thanks.
Ian
Hi Ian,
HD works fine with Redfly although Touch Flo 3D will not display properly. You would need to switch it off back to standard WM6 home screen. The video function doesnt work either btw.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I just read that the new drivers are locking out "non approved" windows mobiles like Tytn II??
I may have posted this in the wrong forum originally

On the advice of some people here, I bought a Targus IR keyboard, and was disappointed to see it doesn't work right on WM 2003. I put it on my i-mate, no luck (it actually repeatedly soft-reset my i-mate), then on my old T-Mobile Pocket PC, and it doesn't work (WM 2003, 4.0.5), downgraded my T-mo back to 3.14 and it works fine.
Does anyone else have one of these working on WM 2003?
Yes. See review here:

still searching
The review really didn't tell me anything new.. i'm still looking for a way to get this thing working on the XDA or XDA II with Windows Mobile 2003.
Jon.
Targus won't work with my XDA
I have bought a Targus Universal wireless keyboard on the strength of people on this forum saying it works.
I can not get it to work with my XDA I. I tried the latest driver from targus. I even got rid of my custom cooked ROM and put a standard O2 UK ROM on.
When I enable the keyboard my XDA slows down so much it becomes unuseable. If I tap for the start menu it takes about 5 seconds to appear and everything else is just as slow. The XDA does not register anything if I press any keys on the keyboard. Even if I then use the program to disable the keyboard my XDA is to slow to use unitl I do a reset.
Can anyone help as I really don't want to have to try and return the keyboard.
Thanks
Stuart
That slowing down feature is the same as when you try to choose the irda port when using tomtom, I understand its to do with the xda not setting up a virtual port and addressing the port direct, I am no expert and have asked numerous questions about the irda port on xda but never got any answers, on the ipaq the irda shows up as "generic irda" and works great, however on xda it shows as "infrared port" or similar, when a program attempts to acces it the slow down/crash happens.
anyone can advise on less bulky keyboard for XDA I ....
(in ideal world I would additionally say) that works on WM2003
any ideas ??
regards, monika
Targus IR Keyboard with XDA1 + ROM 2002 NOT OK (Different Rom Versions)
Targus IR Keyboard with XDA2 + ROM 2003 NOT OK (Different ROM Versions)
Targus IR Keyboard with XDA1 + ROM 2003 OK. Tested by me with latest Tmobile RUU 4.01.00 and IRKeybd Driver Ver 1.25
thanx for the clarification but can you advise also on .....
something in terms of keyboard that is smaller that is working on WM2003 pls ???
regards
monika
As for the IR keyboard, I only tested Targus, which is somewhat bulky, as you say, but works with XDA 1 and WM2003 (Latest ROM version T-Mobile 4.01.00)
As for standard keyboard (with normal XDA connector, not IR) I have tested the G7B0 which is much slimmer and had no problems at all. It also has a plus: you can charge your XDA while connected to the keyboard with your normal standard charger and the keyboard itself does not need batteries, like the IR ones.
As for the Minus, compared to the Targus one, you will be missing: the emulated mouse, but then..., you are asking for a keyboard, not a mouse
thank you for your input
I might consider give it a try
regards, monika
I upgraded to the latest 4.01.00 ROM and indeed the Targus keyboard now works like a dream.
I had put of upgrading to WM2003 as I tried a while back and could not get GPRS working (O2 UK). This time I have managed to get it working but it does seem slower don't know why.
Thanks for your help
Stuart
you're most welcome

Hi, First time posting.
I am interested in purchasing the HTC Touch HD but would like to know if the unit will work with lets say the iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard.
Keep up the great work.

Is it worth purchasing? The keyboard that is. How convenient is it? How fast is the key response?
I had a kasier and really liked it. I am not sure that I will be able to work with just a touch screen.
Great price on Touch HD: http://cti-miami.com/products/htc-touch-hd.html for your reference.
Hey man Thanks again?

Stowaway Ultra Slim Bluetooth Keyboard
I use the Stowaway Bluetooth Utra Slim keyboard with a HTC Touch HD. The Green RFn key seems not to be working, also, the key-layout printed on the keys does not correspond with the typed characters. Could you please advice? Thank you.
im still seeking a 'peel on / off the screen' silicon keyboard
I'm also looking for mobile keyboard. That iGo Stowaway looks ok, but there are no F-keys [F1 - F12]. Anyone knows bluetooth mobile keyboard with F-keys and right alt? Also touch pad like in Logitech diNovo Mini would be great.
There are no explicit F keys, but there are shortcuts for them I believe... I had the thinkoutside BT keyboard and I could toggle full screen (f11) but can't remember the three button combo.
Seriously, those of you with HD and keyboard, is responce time ok? I tried my thinkoutside keyboard before it died on me and I couldn't type normally as the HD wasn't registering the keypresses quick enough (I don't mean I'm a fast typer, but it had to be remedial for the HD to register all the keystrikes.)
Anyone advise on their experience with the HD, I have an I-GO on the way!
Got mine working perfectly! Great kb, fast pairing. No problems. Solved issues of driver by turning off the internal HID..

the TV out w/camcorder cable wasn't originally mine - I just wrote this app to make your life simpler. Enjoy =p.
Should work with RAPH100/RAPH500/RAPH800 (Touch PRO CDMA or GSM/Fuze) as far as I know, untested on other devices.
hope one day it works for Tytn2...-_-
It won't, Touch Pro has a TV-Out, unlike TyTN II or Diamond, or many other .

well, diamond has same chip and hence video output capability as touch pro; its just arguable whether the hardware is actually connected..

Yes very true, I am eager as well to try the flavor of the new topaz rom. When AP team posted that they are planning to release a new rom; I was expecting to have it but it seems that their project is postponed for a reason or another!

touch hd, diamond, raphael etc has 3d hardware accelerator compatible with manila3d etc, athena hasn't. because our device need a specific driver. But i don't think that someone will make it ever.
I thought Athena has one too. But you know what, I compared video playback on Touch HD and Athena side-by-side, was better in Athena!
I used TCPMP and a .avi music video encoded at standard rates. Same file played side by side on both devices. Touch HD had a very little hic-up while playing.
Anyway, I can find Qtv display setting in Coreplayer and it plays well only after enabling it. Im talking about the Athena here. So you sure there is no ATI chipset in?

i'm not saying that athena hasn't one. i'm saying that athena HASN'T ONE COMPATBLE WITH THE TOPAZ ONE, so incompatible to manila 3d etc.
