i have a htc touch pro cdma and in input/setting word completion tab i have * add a space after word enabled... but when i am texting and i pick an auto completion word it places the word in my text but never adds the space... anyone know where in the registry where i can check to make sure its enabled...? driving me crazy
It has me flabbergasted as well: no space, really messed up in the word completion department! And lately, when I use the hard keyboard, the entries I make are invisible. Or when I text, the suggested words are invisible - the box is there, the words are in there, but it "appears" as a blank box. I'm saying they're there, because when I select one and hit enter, it gets typed.
Really irratic!
there has to be a spot in the registry that has a 0 for spacing and it needs to be set to a 1 .... i would think .... but i know the experts on this site would def know more.. can anyone please comment if they have an idea?

This is the third one I've gotten with the same problem.
I've read through 11 pages of the forum and did a search but no one seems to have my problem.. however everyone I know who has a Sprint Touch Pro has the same issue.
I get a text, I tap the notification on the bottom Touch FLO 3D screen (the text icon with the yellow circle w/ # of txts that are new.)
I view the message.
I tap MENU at the bottom right. I tap reply. Slide open the keyboard, and begin typing the reply and the minute I type any key (sometimes specifically "R") it automatically flips to the call history screen and uses the last letter I typed to find related calls in my call log starting with the letter.
The same also applies if I press "NEW" on the TF3D screen and slide the keyboard open.
It takes whatever I message I was typing and throws it into drafts - which is now full of messages from all the attempts I've made to text and puts me into call history.
I called HTC about this - one person admitted to knowing about the problem but they said there is no fix - the next time I called they knew nothing about it.
This is just one of several issues I have with this phone. There MUST be a fix for this somewhere on here... HELP! ITS DRIVING ME INSANE!

The reason this is happening is simple. When you open the keyboard the cursor is not in the text box where you are going to type. So the moment you hit a key it starts to look up calls matching those letters. So to avoid this just tap into the text box then start typing. I don't know if there is a permanent fix for this so you don't have to tap in the text box.
The reason all of those messages are going into the drafts is really quite simple as well. Windows mobile saves your messages, text or email, which you are creating so that if the screen switches, i.e. a call comes through etc. you don't loose everything you have just typed.
If you do #1 you shouldn't have issues with #2.
Thanks for the reply - but it's not that simple. Half the time the cursor IS in the text box, it allows me to begin typing a message (reply or new) - however half way through the text (maybe the third word in) it throws my message into drafts and begins pulling up items in my call history or contacts.
I've tried "tapping the text box" to place the cursor - that didn't work either. Still does the same thing.
I miss my Mogul.. it never did this. If this can't get fixed I'm moving to the Palm Pre LOL.
I have this same problem
I have this problem too.
It is most annoying to be halfway through a txt or email and suddenly have it start searching through the contacts.
It isn't an issue of the cursor being in the wrong place. It just starts doing it randomly. I did notice less of a problem with it when I flashed a new ROM
My Fuze did this (as does my brother's Touch Pro) all the damn time. When I updated my phone it stopped. I think my brother's Touch Pro still does it quite frequently.
It's is EXTREMELY obnoxious. I tried contacting HTC directly, but they were not helpful. I was able to send probably 1 out of 3 messages without being interrupted.
When writing a text message the 'Write message' area takes up the whole screen so you cannot see older text messages above the input area. Does anybody know how to reduce the size of the input area?
I have come from blackberry and find this one little niggle thats really quite annoying, not being able to see the text i am replying to whilst typing
Thanks
You minimize the keyboard by the button on the bottom-left. Then you can read messages again, and when you want to write, just tap input area again.
Hope this helps
or buy a phone with a bigger screen ;-)
But tje best thing to do is minimize the keyboard
It is because the send button appear when you enter the message, the button enlarged the input box. This is stupid design, so i use another SMS apps.
I just saw (by sheer accident) a box pop up when I was about to reply to a text that I had just received.
I had never seen this box pop up before so I don't know what I did or how I touched the screen or just why the box appeared.
I should have taken more time to read the four options in the box but as soon as I read the "voice option to reply" I touched it and sent my first voice (printed) message.
The box had four choices that were arranged in a square pattern: not in a list. It was a very small box.
What did I do to bring that box up?
I can't get it to happen again.
Dan
Evidently few if any people have seen this little box jump up before when texting.
I wonder if a developer would be kind enough to offer some insight to a newbie?
Ok.....I should have taken a screenshot of this box: but I didn't.
And I can't get it to reappear no matter what I do..
A dev knows all about what I'm referring to.....but it may be way down at the bottom of the list of interest.
Although we've heard it said that "there are no dumb questions" : that is usually said by people who already know the answers and they are being nice.
I don't like to leave posts at xda that make little sense and then when I find out what my inexperience left me wondering about just never follow up.
Who knows.....maybe someone else is also curious as to what I was talking about.
The "box" I was trying to access again was simply a Swift Key 3 keyboard stroke that allows you to shortcut a text message.
The SK3 symbol on the keyboard is the stroke I accidentally hit and was not prepared for (or had ever seen) its pop up prompt.
Hi guys, I'm currently on the lollipop (rooted of course )build but my issue is not version related.
It involves the predictive spelling suggestions when typing. I have this problem that a lot of words were added that's misspelled so this leads to me using them a lot of times over and over again. I want to either open the list end edit them or, failing that, delete it totally and start afresh, this time trying to spell correctly. (yeah, right!) Even though the dictionary works, it has now been contaminated with misspelled words and when typing on the fly, or in a hurry, the misspelled words gets the prominent suggestion spot in the middle and then you tend to select it....
Hope my brief explanation makes sense. Let me know if I need to explain anything else or even try to add screen shots.
Nevermind, I'm such a lazy ass! I found it!
If you go to phone settings - Language & Input - Xperia Keyboard - Use my writing style - My words.
Voila!! There is the list and you can delete everything or just the ones that's wrong!
I feel like a f-in idiot, but I can't figure out how the autocorect works on the new keyboard. In KK it was clear when it's about to correct a word, when it adds a new one to the dictionary and what it suggest to autocomplete. Now it feels like a coin toss. I did the tutorial and still don't get it.
Sometimes it prompts me to "tap again to add to dictionary" when I backspace to a wrongly corrected word, sometimes it seems to add it by itself and sometimes it just refuses to add it and still corrects it the next time I write it.
There seems to be a meaning to the position (left, right or center) of the suggested word, but I don't get that either. Some of the suggested words are bolded and sometimes there's a little arrow thingy below. I set the autocorrection to mild, but it still drives me mad.
And I know I can download X keyboard from the market, I just want to figure this one out since it seems good enough for my needs.
If somebody figured it out, please share!
