Hello,
I'm newbi in rom of HTC.
I know the rom of samsung, I've customized one rom for my cell phone, but in HTC its diferent.
There is many roms with different name.
So,
what is :
HERM_1.16.0.0_type2_radio
HTC_TyTN_1.18.256.2_ExtROM_FRA
HTC_TYTN_1.18.256.103_FR_Dumped_ROM
HTC_TyTN_1.18.260.2_PTG_Dumped_ROM
I say that there is 3rom, nomaly, radio and extrom for use TyTn.
Can you explain me more about that.
Thanks.
Sorry for my bad english.
This First one is the Radio ROM...Basically what tells the phone how to act in regards to 3g, UTMS and all those "Radio" Fucntions.
The Ext Rom is stuff installed by the careers and sometimes includes APPS and settings. Also you can load programs in it. I have some instruction on how to do this in the wizard but I am at work now. Search the wizard forums and you should be able to find it.
As I don't have a tytn I cant tell you what the last two are....YET!!!STUPID ROYAL MAIL SENDING MY TYTN TO CANADA FIRST
HERM_1.16.0.0_type2_radio: extracted radio rom upgrade only
HTC_TyTN_1.18.256.2_ExtROM_FRA: Extended ROM
HTC_TYTN_1.18.256.103_FR_Dumped_ROM: Dumped ROM (not useful to flash back)
HTC_TyTN_1.18.260.2_PTG_Dumped_ROM: Dumped ROM (not useful to flash back)

Hi,
Recently got a new Dopod 838Pro and im wondering why is it i can't seem to find any thrid party ROMS for it?
I had a Mitac Mio A701 before it, which was originally based on AKU 2.3 but third part ROMS became available from a Mio forum that updated it to AKU3.3. I really need something similar so i can get the added features. Mostly WPA2 support, but other things as well?
Is there somewhere that is doing this? are there any other sites that wold have a user created AKU3.3+ ROM update??
Thanks so much, and just a thanks to all those that i've read and used info from!
Hermes ROMs are signed with a private HTC key, the bootloader checks the signature before flashing the ROM. If you do a cooked or modified ROM and try to flash it you get an "invalid cert" error from bootloader. There will be no 3rd party cooked ROMs available for the Hermes until a way to circumvent that is found.
Bugger....
Any way to get WPA2 on it then, in its current state?
Thanks for the quick reply
No WPA2 AFAIK on AKU 2.3, you need AKU 3 or newer... probably you can use 3rd party supplicants, but I have never tried on WinCE.
So once you have the security certificate etc which is used to sign the code for the Hermes you'll be able to create a ROM based on a different device??
Yes, but HTC won't give its private keys to anyone... so the way to do this should be by placing a hacked SPL in RAM and jumping into it.
I started doing this some time ago, but got stuck while copying the SPL file into RAM and haven't had any more time to finish the project (busy with real life ****, work and studies).
This might be a dumb idea.. but instead of trying to bypass the bootloaders restrictions, why not hack the bootloader (since it's flashable) to bypass the signing requirement?
1st step is to jump from OS to SPL placed in RAM (not the real SPL flashed on the ROM).
Once we can do this, we can take the SPL and modify it so that it doesn't check signatures. But we can't flash this "hacked" bootloader in ROM without doing the 1st step, as we can't sign it

Thanks pof. I should have thought that it was the bootloader itself that did the verification. Good luck with this, I can't wait until I can get a custom rom, up to date with features like WPA2 without the telstra's (my local jasjam provider) **** all over it.
Same. Struggling without WPA2. Its meant no wifi for me essentially as im not willing to downgrade home netwrok and work use WPA2 as well, so for me, it may as well not have wifi at the moment. Hopefully either Dopod/HTC etc get their fingers out and release an official ROM or it gets cracked.
That was something the Mio A701 i had, which led to some great aftermarket ROMS.
Actually, I should mention that WPA2 is possibly a bad example. It's a feature of AKU 3 and there hasn't been one released for hermes yet (that I'm aware of). I'm just hoping because it's part of other WM5 platforms that once someone works out how to make custom roms they'll be able to hack up other similar devices AKU's for us.
Hi All.
just installed a new radio Rom as my new Motorola S705 wouldn't connect properly in hands free mode???
I installed RUU Nike Radio 1.58.21.23 (Thanks NetrunnerAT for the Roms and jockyw2001 for the Hard SSPL) and the headset now works like a dream (highly recommended by the way) but I found that bbconnect would no longer work???
So then starts the search for the latest bbconnect software - I had version 4.0.0.91 installed and was pretty happy with the full range of services I received (One in the eye for my colleagues who rave about their Black Berry Phones!!!)
Anyway - I found the latest version hidden away on HTC's U.S. site and it works fine with the latest Radio Roms:
New Version is: BBConnect_WM6_Professional_BB_al_4.0.0.97
Download from:
http://www.america.htc.com/download/BBConnect_WM6_Professional_BB_al_4.0.0.97.cab
Hope this is of use to at least some of you!!!
I am a Black Berry user!
OK ... Radio have nothing to do with Black Berry Connect Client!
On the First Page (Identity)
PIN is Pending or do you see a number? If its Pending, your Pin is droped from Black Berry Network!
On Last Page (Info)
What says the Device? HTC-Nike?
I use Black Berry Connect 4.0.0.92 and all Radios work in Austria!
How long do you use Black Berry Connect? Have you change your OS or do you use a HTC OEM OS? The Problem with Black Berry ... he create your PIN via OS Version and Device Version IDs. If you change your OS (not your Radio) you have a other PIN. If the PIN (OS) isnt aproved from RIM, they drop your Pin after some weeks o possible a Month.
Can you Upload your Black Berry Connect Version to my Shared Folder? Then i can check your Version. Possible i doesnt get a PIN to and you must downgrade to a other Black Berry Connect Version!
You get a PM for Link and Password!
Direct Download Link
Hi again NetrunnerAT....
A little confused as my post was a Thank You as well as providing a link to the latest bbconnect software - which works VERY well with the new Radio Roms you provided? & not a request for help???
Anyway - here's a Revised (Direct) link for the latest cab file:
http://www.america.htc.com/download/BBConnect_WM6_Professional_BB_al_4.0.0.97.cab
I've been using bbconnect for about 18 months now (maybe longer) having used it on my original Imate and then my TyTn with many different Roms & Radio versions & now with my Dual and believe me there is a definite link between being able to maintain the Data Tunnel required by bbconnect and the Radio Version you have installed - It may also be Operator Dependant (not sure on that one?) so that may explain why you've never experienced the issue but matching your Radio Version to the right bbconnect version has always been a challenge?
Again - Hope this help at least a few members?
(PS. Have tried to attach the cab file to the thread but keep getting an upload failed error message? The cab file is 3.1 meg so thought that should be OK - within the 5 meg limit?)
OK ... i have up and running your bbc version! It works ... what OS version you have? And what Device ID you see in the BBC software?
I have try your version with 2 radios. It works! Possible your Provider is Blocked? I Austria i can only connect with BBC 4.0 via "A1". Other Provider lost the Pin!

It already works for him, he was saying that the new version solved the problem and providing it for others, he doesnt have a problem anymore.
miss read!
NIKI PROJECT ROM & Blackberry Connect
Hi all....
Is anyone running Tom's NIKI PROJECT ROM WM6.1 WWE v1 together with Blackberry Connect successfully.....
Can you let me know which version of bbconnect you've installed and which Radio Rom you have running as I've tried several combinations and couldn't get any to work??
Current "WORKING" Configuration is:
RUU_Nike_HTCASIA_WWE_1.31.707.09_Radio_Nike_1.58.16.27_signed_Ship
Blackberry Service provided by Vodafone UK
Radio Rom 1.58.21.23
bbconnect 4.0.0.97
Thanks
OK ... only OEM Roms work in the moment with Black Berry Connect!
Tom must change his OS Version Numbers ... then its possible Balck Berry Connect works too.
Black Berry Network check in the moment, Provider, Rom Version Number and Device IDs. If you get Pin pending ... then have RIM drop your PIN!
Thanks for the info Netrunner?
Is this something Tom can fix for his next release (If he so wishes???) as I'm a little surprised as I ran bbconnect very happily on my TyTn with various "cooked" roms including the Black and Satin series and on my Imate KJam before that?
Thanks again.
Blackberry Connect on TyTN II
Hi!
I want to know if its necessary for the service provider to 'configure' anything at their end for my Tytn II to work with Black Berry Connect.
Or do I just get the provider to activate blackberry (BIS) on my connection and simply install the BB Connect software and take it on from there?
Thanks in advance
I'm using Niki Project Rom v1.0 WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19716 ( Build 19716.1.1.0 )
install BB sw version 4.0.0.97
change in the registry:
HKLM\System\versions\Aku
change AKU to .0.0.0
my blackberry now works fine
not sure if it will work for you guys though.
link not working! does somebody have a mirror for this?

This solution doesnt work with all Cocked Roms!
UPDATE: works on all ROMS
See this Post for details:

This works on TYTN 2 as well as on the Touch Dual - NetrunnerAT has all the latest Blackberry Software in his public folders - thanks NetrunnerAT.
Hi all,
I've got a Touch Pro, this is the info (in red) that's on the boot screen when I start it up:
R 1.02.25.19
G 52.33.25.17U
D 1.90.00.00
Now, I'm new to hacking mobile phones so please help me out a bit.
R is the radio rom version?
G is what?
D is the firmware version?
I implemented all the speed and camera hacks I could find, to the max and the phone is stable and fast.
What I would like is for these changes to be default in the rom so I don't have to do them all over again when I do have to do a hard reset and the 3G reception could be a bit better.
Is there an update available aka has anyone here made a mod that offers what I seek? If not, how can I get it done?
Thx,
Patrick
btw. maybe this is an insanely stupid question but can the Diamond Touch rom be used in the Touch Pro without losing funtionality?
btw2. how do I customize the properties of the Touchflo "Internet" tab. There is a world globe icon, a big one, that starts Opera but I'd like it to open another url by default. Changing the homepage in Opera didn't do the trick. I also would like the icon not to be a world globe but a Google logo image for instance. How do I customize this? And again, how can I get these changes as default, so in case of a hard reset, I still have this config.

You can keep you settings by Cooking you own ROM, if your not upto that use UC or SASHMI to auto customise you ROM after flashing.
Oh, and Don't uise a Diamond ROM, it won't work straight off, it must be ported, unless someone can comfirm otherwise, Radio ROMs should work.
Thanks
Dave
Hi Dave,
thanks sofar. I have some reading up to do I guess

Ok, Im ready for my first flash experience with this Touch Pro I hate Dutch language software and I see there's a newer version available here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
So I'm going to flash http://rapidshare.com/files/1375236...dio_FOTA_Sign_52.35.25.21_1.02.25.31_Test.exe to test how it works.
To me it seems a bit strange that the one I'm going to try has a newer radio and protocol version but an older rom version than others that ate in that list which in turn have an older radio and protocol version but I'm going to try it.
As I understand it I can't do an attempt to customize a rom as a hardspl version of the Raphael rom is not available yet, correct?
Patrick
btw. my current rom version is: 1.90.404.1 and the update is 1.90.502.2
update..... I got an invalid vender (vendor I guess? ) error. I understand why and I see my phone is still intact.
Quick point....
ROM versions are labeled in a certain way.
first 3 numbers are the ROM version.
next comes the customisation (SKU)
so....
1.90 is the ROM version.
502 is the SKU (ATT/Cingular)
405 is WWE etc.
so you have the latest ROM and the latest Radio. Although i think the .31 radio is only on the AT&T one so maybe it is optimised for AT&T frequencies.
I doubt you will be able to instal this to your Dutch device, as the CID will be different. SO i would wait until HardSPL is released before you try this. However, at worst, all you should get is an error telling you that the update is not for your device at the moment.
Yah, the error I got The phone is still ok, everything is still there.
So, anyway, no updating for now since there's nothing newer than what I've got. I gather I have to wait for the hardspl version if I want to switch to English?

I can't wait to install an english rom either, keep being unable to find settings because they are named stupidly in dutch
ok, so i am new to the windows mobile community, and i was just wondering if someone could tell me how i can run stock rom updater in bootloader mode..
Hi all, i have a niki 200 (t-mobile mda plus). I have just security unlocked it and it has hard spl 1.15 on it.
First off i would like the latest edition of windows mobile on this phone but im struggling to find one thats compatible with the key configuration of the phone. Also will there be a built in radio compatible with the version of the rom update i download, or will i have to re-install t-mobiles orginal 1.58.16.27 radio.
Cheers all for any help given!
regards
thebarraster
P.S. I am looking for a un-branded, not full of t-mobiles crap rom lol
I just did mine yesterday, tis a T-Mobile Touch plus with 16 keys.
Followed the sticky on flashing the hardspl, but i went with 1.22.
The got a copy of the Offical HTC WM 6.1 update from one of the other threads and ran the rom updater on that.
Worked a treat, tis HTC branded now and everything works nicely. The auto-network configure is great, sets up all the T-Mobile stuff nicely and got push mail set up from my works exchange server along with gmail.
Boots a lot quicker and hopefully i'll be rid of the daily reboots i had to do due to the clock or weather graphics going blank.
Interesting!!!
Hi!
As a newbee to ROM updates etc, I likewaise have an MDA Touch Plus that is running wm6.0.
Could you suggest where I can get the relevant copy of the Offical HTC WM 6.1 update ?
Cheers
