I'm looking for some roms to play around with here at XDA. I have tried some at ppcgeeks and want to see what else is out there in here? It seems that majority of the roms here are for GSM version. Thanks
ppc geeks is where you are going to find cdma roms considering that the Raphael project team(olinex) released the cdma hard spl on that forum.

I just received my 8525 from ATT and its running the orginal software. I went to the HTC web site to down load the new version but the down load doesn't work or its to slow. Does anyone has this upgraded.
Thanks
anyone want to flame....he turned on the gas.

What I wanna know is why someone even WANTS the HTC upgrade.. lol.. why not go WM6.
As mentioned above, U'll be much better off with one of our great chef's cooked ROM's!
I agree with the others....you can learn alot by reading, not posting. Read through some of the threads regarding the OS's, including the HTC official release, and perhaps go to the WIKI here and read some more about all the different options available to 8525 users regarding OS's.
You can also use the links under my sig for more resources.
Enjoy!
@wynngo, forget about the HTC WM5 upgrades.. just go straight to WM6. Since your on AT&T, I suggest vp3g's cooked ROM. It's one of the best AT&T bred roms available.

I agree with Cirial; I've played with many of the new WM6 ROMs and have found VP3G's to be very stable, fast and so far the best of the lot on my Cing 8525 w/AT&T. I like it so much I put it on BOTH of the 8525's!!
So, i was at Pocketnow.com, and they were showing off a touch HD with a killer new ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=483822
So i wondered if there might be a ROM for the Touch Pro.. but, i don't know where to look. The Raphael forum section has a ROMS thread, but those are the GSM version only. Insteady for the CDMA, we have this one thread, which covers the Sprint AND Verizon version, but seemingly no ROM scene... where do i look for Roms? Here or in the ROMS section?
And is there a way we can get a CDMA ROMS section on the forum. Or most importantly, is there a Raphael CDMA version of that particular ROM
Goto PPCgeeks.com It's THE source for CDMA phones.
Most of the CDMA ROMS i've seen are on PPCgeeks.com. They have a very large sprint and verizon crowd. However, i'm not sure if they have anything similar to the ROM you're looking for. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68
XDA-Developers is pretty much a GSM based Forum with a little CDMA thrown in to help here and there and PPCGeeks is pretty much a CDMA based Forum with a little help here and there for GSM. should make it alot more simple.
check out this site it was created by the PPCGeeks community for custom Rom trackin for the TP (CDMA)

Is there anyone that can get a CDMA working ROM or Kitchen for the 6.5 21189 ROM that Da_G posted?
Post found here.
I have played around with putting the ROM and SYS folders in other Kitchens, but so far, have been unsuccesful (haven't done any TP cooking yet).
Can someone with skills get this up and running for us???
PS. The Microsoft ROM threat was a fake.

I believe DaG's rom is for the GSM Fuze...I wouldn't try to make this work on a CDMA phone...
Look for Energy's rom...I believe it is an alpha port of the new Rhodium stuff including a early beta of the Rhodium manila being ported by XBmod and 12aon
My apologies and correction...
I believe Energy's rom is also GSM...
Conflipper is the one working on the CDMA version of that project.
Not sure if he has released anything on it yet. (my guess is no!)
over a ppcgeeks, jakdillards have a 21189 ROM thread. check it out. I personally love it and use it on my daily phone.

Thanks Blink. I am downloading the JD Rom now. Will report back.
It is such a shame that XDA has zero activity for CDMA Touch Pro. I loved this community for my Kaiser, Hermes, Wizard, and even Titan. Oh well. I guess PPCGeeks will have to do for our ROM needs.
Works pretty good on Alltel CDMA, not perfect but a great start!
hi,
i am sooo confused, i've been reading as many of these posts in xda and ppcgeeks but i still dont fully understand. please clarify the following...
i have a GSM htc touch pro already unlocked when bought. i want to flash CFAY TP2 ROM but its in the CDMA forums. am i right to assume that its not possible for me to flash?
therefore, are there far less ROMS to pick from bcos i have a GSM phone?
Thank u kindly in advanced.
If you flash a CDMA ROM to your GSM Touch Pro you'll brick your Touch Pro.
I've always been under the impression that there are a lot more ROMs available for GSM than CDMA Touch Pros. There are many excellent ROMs for the GSM Touch Pro.
thanks for clearing that up so quickly. =)

Best source for flashing the TP (GSM)
I call it "stupidly simple"
There are more gsm roms and cdma. Look around. The best roms for me are RRE and Energy roms. Try them and you will like them. Especially RRE rom.
If this has been answered and you're annoyed don't respond.
I am wondering if we are going to get CDMA Roms for the Hero?
or should i just check over at ppcgeeks.com
First we have to root the phone before making any changes to the phone or putting a new recovery image
once we have root access we should start seeing custom roms
Also, PPCGeeks is really WinMo focused. XDA-dev here is HTC focused, so we're more likely to see CMDA Android roms here than there.
ETA? lol
Just curious if anyone is in motion?

Well PCCGeeks has a Sprint Hero forum now.
I would say that XDA-Dev and PPCGeeks are both WinMo and HTC focused. Last year android made its way to XDA-Dev cause it's an HTC device. The real difference between the two sites is that XDA-Dev is focused mostly on GSM and PPCGeeks is focused mostly on CDMA.
Awesome!
But sadly PPCGeeks has been having some serious server issues! :/
