Upgrading to WM6.1 from HTC from TMobile version of 6.0 - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

Hi All,
Anyone know whether I can use the ROM available from HTC to upgrade my currently WM6.0 Touch Dual. I'm presuming this would loose my Tmobile settings - anyone know if its then easy to get the thing back online?
Also, whats the best way (if possible) of backing up the Tmobile Rom thats currently on there, incase I wanted to revert?

Upgrading MDA Vario II with HTC Rom - open questions

Hi comm!
I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario II, Rom Version: 1.21.
Can i upgrade my PPC with the released WM6 update of HTC without any problems, although i have a differently branded TyTN? Will all functions work (telephone, internet)? And can i downgrade my WM6 to WM5 easily or can I reactive my current system status with a backup (SK Tools)? Last but not least, what will the warranty say?
Thanks for your efforts.
PS: sorry for all these maybe stupid questions...but i´m just a beginner =)
upgrading to WM 6 worked for me as did unlocking ;-)
If you do not use an official T-mobile ROM update forget any warranty, unless you're able to downgrade to the original one
I have an original Rom from T-Mobile. Do you know what happens with the warranty of T-Mobile when you unlock the CID? Does the CID still will be unlocked if you install another Rom? Can you lock it again?
It won´t be possible unless you downgrade to your old ROM again. I am not sure if that´s possible, though.
I went along the way described at http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php...ask=view&id=65&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=4
If you follow the directions including the upgrade to wm6 from Custel, you can afterwards install the German WM6 version from HTC. It won´t work directly. The CID will stay locked and the HTC cannot be installed until you installed the CUSTEL version.
I think the T-Mobile contract does not allow to modify the system in this way.
How to
Using the search function gave me thread as the first result.(Couldnt find any how to guides)
So.. What do i need to do to upgrade my ROM? i have a fresh MDA vario II just got repaired from the shop.(Nothing to do with bricking if you;re wondering)
Can some one please give me a simple step by step guide on how to upgrade.
Thanks a bunch
HELP
i have 8525, and i installed WM6, with different applications and i cant get the voice dial to work and cant find any applications or roms, does anyone know how i can get it to work?

Back to WM5

Hey,
does anyone now where i can get the ameo t-mobile german rom wm5.
I want to go back from wm6 because i can not get bb work.
thanks
Search and you will find your answer...
I don'tuse BB,but if my memory has not failed me, it can work in wm6. Whether you want to make BB work, or go back to wm5(which doesn't make sense to me), the way todo it is already posted on this forum.
Good luck!
can someone point out where cos i have searched everywhere includin the wikki and cant find it
also is the original t-mobile wm5 rom available cos i cant see that anywhere
When you bought the phone, didn't you get a disc containing the wm5 ? I did, together with other stuffs like active sync program, gps program, ROM upgrade disc, etc. I imagine T mobile works the same way, no?
i have all the apps you describe but NO WM5 rom
So, you do have the wm5 ROM upgrade disc? Have you tried flashing with that? No harm trying since your phone has been unlocked.
I have the apps but the WM5 rom is NOT included, i have found it somewhere else and am gonna try later , i also need the tmobile extended rom info as well

Reverting back to WM 6

Hey Everyone...
I was just wondering if this is possible. If I have upgraded the ROM to the 6.1 version but do not like it because it made my phone slow, can I go BACK to plain old WM6?
If this is possible..Can someone tell me how to do it?
same...
i want go back to WM6...
cause in WM6.1, i've a problem with indonesian provider....
Of course, no problem at all. If needed, just ensure that you also flash to the appropriate bootloader/radio for the ROM that you choose.
The answers are available in the wiki.......

TG01 unlocking question

hello guys, I have a question, hoping you can answer for me.
I have had my TG01 for two months now, on Orange UK.
I am looking to unlock it, and found this guy called vitamise.
I am also running the orange uk stock rom 6.5 which is the old version.
there us now a new update rom 6.5 version which is meant to fox call quality issues.
if I unlock my phone now(on old stock 6.5 rom) will I still be able to update it next time to new stock 6.5 rom without any problems? I have heard some people previously trying to update 6.1 to 6.5 having problems. could it affect this update?could it brick my phone?
please let me know,oliver

No problem you can update your phone any times you want. You can unlock it and update it without problems in future past or how you want.
