I was looking for a free backup program for SMS and contacts. I found something on the Effica website.
You can backup and manage your SMS and contacts from your laptop or PC. A small app is installed on the mobile device to connect to the PC part.

I'm using the Mobile Express 1.5.5 from Efficasoft. On their website you can only find 1.5.2. I don't know why they haven't put the latest version on the official website. I found it on mobiletopsoft.com. It worked is it should on the Blackstone (Touch HD), but on Leo (Touch HD2) the messages are not sent from the outbox. You can edit the message in the outbox on the phone, and then hit "send", but then the whole point of the software is lost.

Yeah I see the version 1.5.5 which is not on their website. Dunno why?I haven't testing it yet, but I will. Anyway, thanks for keeping heads up.

Apparently there isn't any development going on on this tool. Could be because it's free, and they don't see any point spending any more resources on it. Hopefully they will fix this bug sometime as I would gladly pay for a working version of it.

I have the same problem with my HTC Touch Diamond 2!
All messages are still in the Outbox until i send or receive a messages on my HTC!
I'm using the the Efficasoft Mobile Express Version 2.1.1(Build 220) and Windows Mobile 6.1!
Does anybody has a solution for this issue?

So I have one particular contact that always causes "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly please try again [Force Close]" no matter how I get to it. I have a shortcut on my screen that crashes immediately.
If I enter the Contact app and click on the offending contact no information comes up, it just says "No additional Information for this contact" then the force close window pops up.
So this seems like a minor problem except the offending contact is my wife.
And here's where it gets strange. If I go look at her contact on my pc (in gmail) it all looks fine, It has 1st name last name, her picture, 2 phone numbers (mobile and work), 3 email addresses, birthday, anniversary, and google talk id.
So I delete the contact from Gmail, and refresh my phone. I create a new contact with her name and it immediately begins crashing again. If I create a new contact under a different name with her information it works fine.
As a last ditch effort I restored the phone to factory settings, and deleted her contact out of Gmail.
With a clean phone and no remains of the contact that I know of, I created a contact called "Test Wife" entered her information and everything worked fine. Renamed it to my wifes name and bam it starts crashing again.
I'm so lost. There has to be something in either android or gmail holding on to a corrupt version of her contact. I just cant figure out what. Any Thoughts?

Ok, so I think I figured it out. It has to do with her contact info in Twitter. If I go into twitter and tell it not to sync contact info then all works correctly.
Well that's no fun. I was hoping for a glitch that'd be fun to mess with.

I've experienced the same problem when syncing with linkedin and facebook. I had to tell android to not sync both of these in order to keep my contact records 'clean' and not force a crash.
I just ran into it again on a different contact when skype tried to sync contact info.
This same thing is happening to me when I go to edit a contact or add a new contact
But i'm not syncing with anything (maybe google?)
How would this prohibit new contacts and/or editing a current contact?
how do I fix this?

It might be helpful if ya'll pulled and posted logcats so any dev who looks at this thread might be able to tell you what's breaking.
I really don't know why it isn't a requirement to post a logcat when somebody posts "I has a crash".

Whenever a certain friend sends a text to me I get it as a MMS msg instead of just a normal SMS. Is that because he is doing something wrong? I get normal txts from my wife from her I phone. What's the reason for this?

thats weird are you using the default messaging app?
I use Go SMS mainly but the normal android app does the same.

That's weird I send regular texts and group chats with iphone users and never have that problem. Try clearing the cache for both apps or freeze the stock messaging app.
If I try a send a text and select 2 contacts this shows up:

I would guess you are being sent a txt athat is being sent to other users. I am guessing its due to the phone being "compatible" that its showing as mms

That's what I thought but if that was the case he would be receiving replies from other people. I personally use gosms for group texting so Idk how stock works
I know for awhile there iPhone to android and vice versa was having issues. Don't know if they ever fully figured it out. They being apple or google. I don't have any I-friends lol so I can't test for ya. But if your getting the message I wouldn't worry over much.

i personally was able to group mms with 2 iphone users on the stock messaging app but now i use the gosms app because it has emojis and you know how iphone users love their emojis....
this happens all the time to me. Whenever one of my friends initiates a text message to multiple persons from his iphone, it shows up on my end as a multimedia message. Whenever one of my iphone friends sends me just a one-on-one text message it shows up as a regular SMS.
I see this problem more often when I don't clear out messages from the recipient in a conversation. Last night I started seeing it happen real bad and I noticed there were about 200 messages in the conversation so I deleted the thread and the problem went away.
I do hate the problem though, I always receive "multimedia message, press <here> to download" and then you have to wait.

It works quite well in LG G watch paired to LG G3 but the call log only shows the telephone numbers and not the names of the contacts .

Regarding a voice menu and dial during a call - as far as I know it's not possible to send DTMF tones (at least on non-rooted phones) from third-party apps in current Android.

Why was the app removed from the play store? I wanted to reinstall it after it gave me an error on my watch. After uninstalling from phone and watch(wear 1.5) I still get the call notification. Can't get rid of it and don't feel like resetting my watch.

Did you tested it or its just spam to your website? What you posted, belongs to full android watches with call option, not to modified Amazfit OS.

I'm using it on my Amazfit Pace right now. Standard US/English ROM.
I used APKInstaller on Windows to install the APK to my watch. I then followed the prompts in the phone application to connect the phone app, which I downloaded from the Play store, to connect the phone to the watch. It was pretty simple. Here are screenshots of it running on my Amazfit Pace.

can confirm, this works, and surprisingly well. it does need some work on the UI/UX, but its a great solution for an alternative notification system.

Triggering tasks from the watch would make the control of many many things possible.

Do you disable amazfit notitications (in phone app)?
After a few days using the app , this is my opinion:
-I don't have problems with disconnections at the moment, the app is going great.
-I am using it without the official amazfit application, since I uninstalled it from the phone and I realized that, surprisingly, I was still receiving notifications and calls, which is all I need from the watch.
-I've lost 2 days of battery (6 to 4), but I have my disconnect warning , and for me this is more important.
At the moment, I'm happy with the app.

Hi all!
I've just updated to the latest version (10.1.13.0) and now Chomp SMS can't send messages. It will receive them, but not send anything, it just says 'failed'.
Bizarrely (and annoyingly) the stock app is running fine. I even tried Handcent to see if it was just Chomp that was the issue, but that too wouldn't send SMS.
I have searched everywhere, but to no avail.
Can anyone help me? Or is this a bug with the Pie update?

I have a SD card in my phone. And for reasons beyond me, my SIM is put in Poco's in No 2 slot.
There's been no issue, but when I updated to Pie... None of the 3rd party SMS apps were picking up the No 2 slot.
I've used a 'dual sim management' app to select the 2nd SIM as the 'preferred' sim (as I cannot find ANY setting in Poco to do this) and it works!
What a fiasco to be honest...

Guys, I had a similar problem for last couple of weeks, but while using Messages app from Google - receiving was OK, sending 50% failed. Changed recently to Textra SMS and for the moment no complaints, all working fine - and, as @adeyb, I'm using SD card. Maybe try this app?
I'm using 'dual sim selector' (I bought the PRO version) from the playstore.
Following the instructions, keep it locked and autostart it, choose No 2 - and away you go!!
Annoying that I had to mess about doing this as there's no setting to alter within the phone's system, but meh, got it sorted now...

Currently in dialogue with chomp sms developer. And Just had confirmation fix applied in next release of Chomp in the new year.
Quick Response during Incoming Calls
I use Textra as my default messaging app. I cannot send my messages when I select quick response option during incoming calls. It will only work if you use the native messaging app. Problem is, I prefer Textra for numerous reasons. Any solutions?
