Hello all,
This is my first post at this community.
Can we develop something which will use bluetooth to receive GPS signals ?
Google maps also gives correct location but that is not GPS.
"Wayfinder earth" is a software which turns bluetooth on and after that it crashes. I am not sure if that will work here in india.
But please try this wayfinder earth.
I also searched over internet that many GPS receivers uses bluetooth to receive signals.
So if we can find/develop something like this, it will be great !
I use Blue Tooth GPS since ... i have a Blue Tooth PDA. If it doesnt work ... you make a big mistake!
PDAs can receive GPS signals over Bluetooth, if you're using a Bluetooth GPS Mouse!

Hi all!
I just bought an iPaq BT GPS system (seems like a rebrand of what GLobalSat offers). I have successfully paired the device, but when I do a services check, the blue angel cries that it cannot find any usable services. Is there something I can install on my BA to be able to use this GPS device? IT seems like they are trying to talk to one another, but just don't understand each other.
Thanks!
I fixed it...how? I dont know...weird but it works
I paired, I used tom tom, it got a GPS fix, I used it twice
LOL OK - back with some problems
First: the GPS unit will NOT get a GPS fix...
Then I could not connect to the device, so I deleted the pairing, and decided to re-pair them.
Then I saw the GPS BT device, but the services were not usable!
Now I try to paid the devices, and I cannot even see the GPS unit
arghhhhhh
Hi all!
I want to use a bluetooth gps with my hero. i can pair the hero with the bluetooth gps, but i can't connect with it.
I know that there is a gps in the hero, but i want to use this app:
http://trackmaster.trackaroo.com/welcome
Which is far more accurate with an external unit on a track. Moreover, my car as a athermical windshield, and i would like to put the bluetooth unit in the back of the car to avoid signal cut.
The app use this add on to exploit external gps unit: bluetooth gps service: but in the description of the app we can read: htc hero not support bluetooth gps.
In my search on google, i could read that htc devices doesnt support SPP profile.
Any chance to find something to make it work??
Ps: i found the app "Bluetooth gps" which work like a charm with my external gps, so it can work, but how?
I was *****ing about how bad is the reception of GPS in my Sola, when I suddenly remembered that I bought a battery-powered bluetooth GPS receiver some years ago for unrelated reasons (needed it for a wardriving project).
A quick search on the Play store confirmed that there are apps that allow such devices to be used by my phone, so I installed one of such apps and it connected my gps receiver to the phone (after I configured bluetooth connection).
Now it's as good as my tomtom navigator device. Yay! Killer accuracy, more battery life (as the GPS now has its own battery).
just a heads-up for everyone experiencing such issues. Get a bluetooth GPS receiver.

Hi all,
I have a car, which has a windscreen with additional anti-UV layer (violet-like, when looking at it from the outside). Unfortunately thus windscreen successfully restricts any kind of radio transmission (eg. GPS signal, anti-radar detection, etc.). I've bought a standalone GPS bluetooth receiver (Nokia LD-3W), this sort of devices has much better signal reception than internal one. It can receive signal indoor, no matter which floor I am on. My plan was to put it at the back of my car, in the windowed trunk. And then, Houston, we have a problem...
Android does not support external GPS receivers by itself. You have to download a bluetooth gps app from the GP (one of the best is called Bluetooth GPS). Turn bloetooth on, turn on mock location in programming options (you have to, because internal GPS will still be on; turning of locations in android disconnects from the external GPS), turn mock GPS in the Bluetooth GPS app, and then, theoretically, you can use your external GPS. Yes, it works, but...
Many, many apps have a check for the mock location and refuse to work with these settings... Some navigations, all radar-warners used in my country, family locators and many more.
I'm eagerly looking for a way to patch an app to disable this check (Lucky Patcher?) or any other way to solve this problem.
Thanks,
SQBI
Hi
When I have the phone connected by USB to android auto the navigation works fine in my car. But when I want to use the phone alone like in the car dash with Maps or Waze its never get GPS signal.
The google maps fix the location, but when you start to navigate: GPS signal lost.
I use 2 gps apps and I have zero satellites connection.
I there any app to check is the gps works?
thanks!
