My phone will not vibrate when I receive a text message. I have the box checked in the sound settings -> advanced -> text message alert. Also, my vibrator is functional, as it gives a nudge when I make a phone call. Any thoughts?
anyone??????
Me too
Mine just quit also and I just fixed it by changing to another ring type.
Try that. Mine had been dead since yesterday and that is when I changed the alert sound.

Rooted for the first time yesterday and flashed DasBamf Sense 3.0 RC4. My only issue is that when I set my sound profile to vibrate mode, none of my messages (or notifications, for that matter) vibrate on incoming, even though the "Vibration feedback for calls and notifications" box is checked.
Anybody else have issues with this?
Thanks
I tried it on mine. I don't normally use vibrate. When I set the sound profile to vibrate and sent myself a txt it didn't vibrate. I had to go into the message app and go into settings and turn on vibrate there also. Then it worked. I know calls vibrate when sound profile is set to vibrate but other notifications have to be set separately.
sent from my BAMF'n thunderbolt.
Hi Guys,
I want my Galaxy S2 to vibrate only on incoming messages and ring on incoming phone calls.
Since the message tone is very short, In loud places, I am missing few messages.
Please let me know, if u know any app or settings to do this?
Regards,
C.Karthik
use a longer ring tone then,
create a folder in /mnt/sdcard/media/ringtones
put your ring tone (.mp3) in this folder,
and you can select it to be your ringtone
That might help, but is there any other way to vibrate alone?
for incoming call to ring only
set phone vibration to always off.
for sms to vibrate only
install and use handcent sms, and set the notification settings to vibrate always. and use a silent (empty) sound as ring tone.
it may work.
Hi guys,
Yesterday I updated my SGS2 to 2.3.5.
Since the update I have a problem with my sound.
If I set vibrate on 'always', there's no problem with the sound of incoming calls, and everything is fine and dandy. But putting vibrate on 'always' puts the vibrate icon in my statusbar. That makes the bar a bit too crowded for my taste.
That's why I normally have vibrate set on 'only in silent mode'.
But if I set the vibrate option on anything other than 'always' (for example 'only in silent mode'), incoming calls make no sound at all.
I've tried looking for an earlier thread, but found nothing concerning this problem.
Does anyone know what to do?
No vibration but just card showing up with text messages. I get vibration and card with emails just fine though. All settings are set to vibrate and the phone (Note 3) vibrates just not the G watch. Please help!

You have to set the vibrate settings for each individual app. If you use hangouts eg then make sure vibration is enabled in hangouts. Which sms app do you use?
I figured it out by accident actually. The phone has to be on complete silent mode without vibration notice in order for it to buzz on the watch. The messaging app has the vibration notice checked but my phone volume had to be in silent mode.
