Hi all...
For all those who will buy a 4 or 8 Gb card to polaris, forget it... Polaris does not support SD HC
Learned it the hard way...

I've been running with a SanDisk 8gb card for a few months now with no problems. In fact before I got this phone I was using the 8gb card in my Orbit on WM5 for over a year!
@Silalaval
what are you saying? my polaris works since the first day with a sandinsk 4gb sdhc without any problem?
why do you post this kind of info without ask yourself if is only a problem of your type of memory or your device
Are you serious?
Demm.. I bought a 8 gb and it didnt worked! Thought Polaris was incompatible, hence the warning to other users.
Sorry for the misinformation!
I've got a SDHC 8gb and working no problem, I think you've got a faulty card mate.
It's either a bad card, or it's formatted to a file system that the polaris doesn't know. The obvious question, did you get the card from a legit store (online or brick and mortar), or did you get it from a shady source (eBay, sketchy online store, trunk of some guy's car)?
From a reliable place, there's only one answer....bad card
From shady place, the card might be stolen or returned and resold, so it could be either.
Best way to test, put the card into a reader and attach to your computer. If you can read it, 99% chance that it's formatted to NTFS or some other file system. Just format that beast to FAT32 and you'll be fine....If windows gives an error about being unable (which I've read is possible), then do a quick google and you can find instructions.....or just return the thing and save yourself a couple hours of trouble.

I've been using a Sandisk 16Gb card for 2 months now.
Works perfectly
I have a 8gb SDHC working fine! with no problems!
Although i did take mine out before i put it in my phone and format it under vista!
I also have a 8gb mSdhc card and it works fine
8 GB is definitively a go.
However, 16 GB (as ianl8888 wrote)???
Is WM6.1 that manages SH HC.
WM5 not! it serves a software ad hoc.
if got an sdhc 4 gig card and works great no problems

Hi.
I have an O2 XDA IIs with WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2.
I purchased a Sandisk 4gb SDHC micro SD card.
I tried to install the driver that you post here but it does not work and my XDA won't read my original Micro SD card 2gb.
I tried to uninstall the sdhc.cab and my XDA can read my 2gb micro sd card but still it wont read my SDHC 4gb card.
Sir, I hope you can help me with this so I can use my 4gb sdhc card.
Thank you in advanced.
RED_HANKS™
anyone who have XDA IIs here with WM6?
does this patchers/drivers worked?
I tried it on mine in all ways but it does not work, it does not recognized my Sandisk Micro SD HC card 4GB.....
Help Me Out PLEASE!!!!
Can anyone please HELP ME?
I am begging you guys!!!
red hanks, you should be reading all of the other posts on this topic before you start begging for help.
Your best bet is to take that SDHC card back to the shop and see if they can swap it for a non-SDHC card.
There is no SDHC driver for the BA, and it is extreamly unlikely that there ever will be.
Good luck with swaping it, or finding a 4Gb SD (non -SDHC) card that works.
Sorry for this...
It is so SAD that there is no SDHC Driver for my O2 XDA IIs...
Well, I can not return the product now to the retailer store..
This is a brandnew Sandisk 4gb micro SD HC with card reader..
I think I will just sell this one...
Anyone interested??

Hi there.
I stumbled on this forum looking for something else to do with my Kaiser phone and found this thread.
I used to own several Blue Angel and over the three years or so of owning them I only ever managed to get a 2gb standard non sdhc card to work.
I remember waiting ages and ages in the hope of various updates and driver to no avail.
Your best bet is to try and get hold of a newer model HTC phone such as the TYTN or prophet. The prophet is the one phone I miss as it was almost perfect. I know its easier said than done but it sounds like you are in the same boat I was in. I used to watch tons of films and listen to music on my BA and was fed up with not being able to use SDHC or at least a 4gb card.
However, all said and done the BlueAngel ROCKs!! especially using the Bluetooth stereo profile which was why I kept mine so long.
Best wishes and good luck mate.
Your friend Nick.

Hi Nick,
Thanks. Well I guess I better buy a new memory card but not an SD HC..
I just waisted almost $100 for this Sandisk 4gb micro sdhc,
Nick, about that prophet what exactly phone is that?
haaaaaay....
Well, I am too busy to browse the whole forum for my concern so sorry about that free888...
The good part with my BA is that i can purchase all of its components (buttons, lcd, keybad, housing, etc) for a cheap price here in my country..so I am not letting go of my lovely BA, maybe I will just buy a new model made by HTC so I can enjoy them both....what about XDA Flame?hmmmmm
hi,
just to let you know that a standard 4GB non-sdhc (SD) card works great on my BA; SD is a Transcend, rom is 1.40.02.

yeah, me too. the transcend 4gb sd card is compatible with many devices.
BTW, red_hanks, if you paid $100 for a 4gb sdhc, you got ripped off. return it and buy a 4gb sd(non-hc) on ebay. they go for around $35.

It will only take one of the many gurus we have on this forum to put their mind to it and we will get our SDHC working patch. Trust me, it is not impossible or improbable.
Well, all of you are right guys...anyway, can't return it anymore to the retailer store since I don't have the Proof of Purchased and it is over 7 days already...well, I guess I can just buy an electronic Item next time, like a digicam that supports SD HC so I can use this freaking Micro SD HC 4gb..hehehe
I just wonder...What does a Ba don't have and other PPC have why (BA) can't read an SD HC? Well, regarding with a driver for that how come no one can work on it, you can crack a lot of softwares but a driver for SD HC for BA is kinda impossible???huh! I don't believe so...
hi guys,
I tried to search for the standard (non-HC) transcend 4gb sd card on eBay but all the cards I found were SDHC, is there another way to find a 4 GB card that would work with the Siemens SX-66
Thanks
I also checked ebay and noticed that there are no transcend SD cards. However there are lots of 4GB cards that are not listed as being SDHC.
Is it hit and miss for what will work or not? even though the auctiongs don't list them as SDHC?
4GB non-HC SD 45x, 150x
Hello, try doing a search for 4GB SD 45x SD or 4GB 150x SD and you'll find some for around $25. Newegg.com had some about 2 months ago.
Hi Guys!
I have 8525 and i need some INFO about this phone i just got it so i need to buy a memory card which one does 8525 support? and how many GB can support??
Thanks
It supports the Micro SD card. Do not confuse with the Mini SD, Micro SD is the real small one. I think it can take up to 2 GB. (Don't hold me to the size.)
I use a "SunDisk" Micro SD 2GB card and it`s work preety fine.

It depends on if the phone has WM5 or 6.
Last I read, WM6 has support for SHDC cards, which have a limit of 32 gig per the spec. If you have WM5 on the phone, you are stuck with a standard SD, which is limited to 2 gig by the spec.
However, you might be able to find a 4 gig non-SDHC. I don't know if they exist in microSD formats, but I have a standard size SD card that is 4 gig.
Used it in my Blue Angel. Worked fine, if not a bit slow (data transfer was faster when I had it divided into a pair of 2 gig 'cards'. Think this was due to the overhead of a fat32 filesystem).
My hermes came with WM6 and is working perfectly with the 4gig sandisk I picked up over the weekend.
I have a 8gig sdhc card in mine with schaps newest rom. I cant wait for my 16 I just hope its supported

It should be. Spec is good for up to 32 gig.
...and after a quick google to verify, it looks like Toshiba and Sandisk both have announced 32gig cards. That didn't take long. Of course, I have a 4 gig non-SDHC SD card, so if someone 'extends' the spec officially with new access modes, or makes a card that is not quite SDHC spec, they may be able to release larger sizes without hardware/software upgrades for existing devices.
BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what do you have on that machine that you need a 16 gig card?
Heck, I'm using just a shade over 330 meg, and got the 4 gig card only because it was a good deal.
Hi
I bought a 4gig MicroSD and would like to know the steps to update the SD please
Update?
All you need to do is take off the back, pull out the old card, and plug in the new one.
If you want to keep the contents of the old card, just drag the contents to your PC first, then swap the card, and copy the contents back.
update = install a bigger one
tx
take the old out
put the new in =D
thats all you need to do
Now that the mini has been updated to 2.1, are 32 Gig cards supported?
Some initial information was added to http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Xperia_X10_Mini_MicroSD_Cards
You should turn off the phone OR unmount the SDCard before remove it.
TX .. I thought there was some wierd partitioning and formatting and so.
tx to all the help

i hope not because i just bought 16gb class 4 from ebay for £14 ( around $28 )
Ill have to give this to my girlfriend if it does coz i need the biggest possible
Seems like you will have to go shopping again. At least for the X10 the 16Gig limit is replaced with a 32Gig limit. At least if I can believe this page:
h t t p : //gadgets.apnafundaz.com/20 10/09/xperia-x10-whi tepaper-revision-6-for-andr oid-2-1-eclair-no-16m-color-adobe-flash-mu lti-touch-and-more/
Though the link is a bit old. So I was hoping that maybe somebody here had already tried this. As I would rather spend my money on a 32 Gig card then buy a 16 Gig card and hear that I could have got double that.. ;-)
Didn't you guys get the fancy card reader with your E10s/U20s?
I bought my E10i on the launching day and in the box was that USB MicroSD-card reader.
Using it is easy to put your contents of your old MicroSD to a folder on your computer. Either temporary (to move it to the new mSD) or as back-up.
Don't remember it's SE name (have mislayed it as I used the reader and 2GB card that came with X10Mini, for installing Ubuntu on a EeePC 701)
Well.. I didn't get a micro SD reader with my kit in Germany..(I had a couple laying around which I was using but they have both died.. I don't know how a reader seems to just keel over and die.. seems something strange happened on an eject in Linux and now they are dead... tried all sorts of things to resurect them. (Linux detects them.. windows too but the reader doesn't detect any micro SD cards I throw at it.... oh well.
on a brighter note.. I just found an A-Data 16GB Class 10 card for under 30 Euro's its at Jacob Elektronics (there is another 7Euro for sending but still a cheap Class 10 card (if it's a real A-Data Class 10 card, my experience of the A-Data brand has been pretty good.. its a reputable brand and the website/shop seems legit.)
I am convinced it will not be any faster than a class 2 card for general use but the transfers between phone and PC will be super quick and for the price.. why not go for the fastest available?
I will let you all know how it turns out.. if it arrives.
Kiwi
I think the A-Data cards will be fine.
Got a full size A-Data SDHC in my camera 8GB class 6.
just a simple swap with phone switched off.
When I upgraded my contract phone to the mini pro, it was bundled with a 2gb card. I told the operator I'd seen a similar deal on a different network only they were shipping with an 8gb card, not a 2gb.
For my cheek, my phone arrived with an 8gb free of charge
You don't ask, you don't get
and also a spare sd card reader too! (now I have 5 )
Well after waiting over a week for the damn Adata 16GB Class 10 card to turn up I finally got hold of the company who said.. " it may be another 3 weeks because of a supply issue" funny as they said they were in stock when I ordered it.
anyway.. I canceled my order (as I am moving back to New Zealand in 2 weeks) and just bought a Sandisk 16GB Class 4 from Conrad electronics for 36 Euro.. meh.. at least its Sandisk so I trust it not to die after a few weeks use..

Good news. Earlier there was some thread in this forum stating that 32 GB doesn't work in Mini - probably while it was on Android 1.6. How is the access speed ? Is it satisfactory?

I've looked around for 32Gb card, and the only I found where class 2. I'm sure that cards of higher class will be become available, but at the moment I know of none.
im using 16gb class 2.. all apps on there.. working good to me
is it ok to buy 16 gb sd card for my mini not pro
i mean that the won't be slow ....etc ?
it is ok, i have an x10mini too, and i'm using a 16gb sdcard in it, and it's working very fine and fast, so just go buy it and enjoy
Here another 16GB SD card user.
For me its perfect, I have no feeling that it slow down or something
i got a new 16GB SDHC card couple of weeks ago, but since then my phone sometimes restarted itself, and some apps is running very bad, particularly Waze (it's a GPS programm). I tried to format the card with the PC and phone also, but still same results. I had a 2GB card, and had no any problem it all...
Any ideas what may be the problem?
Thank you in advance

I have A-data 16GB sdhc 10 class and when i copy my files and i extract from the pc my phone don't recognize my memory and when i insert one more time and say my pc that the memory don't have format and i have to format one more time. Someone can i help me?
try formatting the block size to 32KB
An sd card does not need to be formated only hdd do... What couldve hapend is that your boot sector got screwed up. Try putting your sd card in an card reader and connect it to the pc. On windows 7 go to start type cmd and hit enter. Then type: chkdsk /X /F /A:, where A: is your card reader. Hit enter and wait. I revived a couple SD Card by this method. Without losing any data!
***Ignore this***
Edited for clarity.
I have a Class4 16 gb card. Worked well so far.
Guys - Can we lose the personal criticism here - this thread is bang on the money with a problem I'm really struggling with and I'd hate for the thread just to become a shouting match.
My daughters x10 Mini Pro (running latest paul-xxx version of CM7) is just refusing to play nicely with a Sandisk 8Gig Class 4 SDHC which has prviously worked perfectly in a Samsung Genio.
On the 8 Gig card music jumps between tracks as you are listening , apps moved to SD Card refuse to run, photos save OK and will open once in Gallery but then the jpgs get corrupted and cannot be reopened on the phone or when transfered to a PC.... and to crown it all I get random reboots/freezes.
If I drop back to an old Kingston 2 Gig Micro-SD (ie non-SDHC) everything on the phone works fine and yet when I format the 8Gig card on my PC, there are never any errors and I can then copy files on and off the card (via the card reader in the PC) multiple times with no issues.
Is this just a somewhat more extreme example of other peoples experiences or would you suspect my micro SD is b*ggered?
I suspect that this "quality" Sony phone is just so sensitive to SDHC cards that I need to get one which others can confirm works reliably and stick to it.
For now my daughter is content to run with the 2 Gig card and have a stable, working phone but obviously she'd like to carry more than a dozen Albums and Apps at any time.
Any advice?

i did a quick search for 128gb cards and found that both kingston and sandisk ones are uhs1. There have been a few problems with uhs1 cards going wrong after a while on our hd2. tytung has advised not to use them.
But since you are getting one anyway, i wish you luck in your pioneering tests:fingers-crossed:

In all actuality my 64Gb went bad in a result of improperly forcing formatting it to fat32, now windows nor android or it's various flavors of custom recovery will reformat it... Either that or old age??
I've been trying to find a way to save and revive it so far no luck, it started really acting up 3 or so months ago, files deleted reappear, files added disappear and I get ."no named extension files" on it and stuff too for some reason.
I guess I could always buy a new 64Gb and then return my dead one, but I'd rather hold off and pay twice as much and get the 128Gb microsdxc and maybe force format it once to fat32 test on the hd2, pop it out and reformat again to proper exfat.
Only thing I haven't tried yet was/is reformatting via usb reader, I need to get a new one of those and try that out.
