Hello all just joined, im also looking for accessories for the touch hd i just acquired, found this holder which looks good as it has a built in fm transmitter, i have used a fm transmitter on htc p3300 and it works a treat. im now looking for a docking station that will charge the phone plus i can play music through its built in speakers (dock speakers) any ideas anyone cheers all jez
http://www.usbfever.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=1020
Do you have this? Or does anybody have it? I would like to ask how the audio is fed into the fm transmitter as we know that the HTC Touch HD audio output is on top (3.5 mm audio jack). Many ppl confirmed that the mini-USB port (HTC specific) does not output any audio like the other HTC models.
Does this cradle have another audio cable then to plug to the top of the device? How it looks like?
hello i will email them to find out as im interested in buying one if it works as well as the transmitter i have on my orbit. touch hd arrived today just waiting for the battery to charge. these phones are now free on contract for £35 a month

As the extUSB of the HD does not support any audio output, I don't think that any of these solutions will work.
Yes those solutions which use miniusb of HD will not work. It has to use 3.5mm audio plug in order to work.
Isn't it true that you can use the extUSB for audio with an 3,5 mm to usb adapter ?
Maybe it has one built in? Just hoping for it cause it looks good. Wondering what it would do when using a headset for callimg at the same time tough.

Indeed, it is *not* true.
Most HTC ExtUSB ports have the audio but *not* the Touch HD. If you connect audio via ExtUSB, you get a dialog screen saying that the Touch HD *does not* support USB based headsets. Also the radio will not play (ie, it is also not an antenna)
Most likely it is because the chipset has only one free audio channel and it is already diverted to the top connector. Why they still bothered to put in a sensor-readout so it detects you tried to put in a audio headset is beyond me. (maybe I are mistaken and the non-working ExtUSB audio is a software issue only)
Anyway, all those eBay sellers probably made the mistake of seeing a ExtUSB port on the Touch HD and then assumed their product would work.
fm transmitter cradle plus tomtom etc
Well I received this item http://www.usbfever.com/index_eprodu...oducts_id=1020 and as suspected it doe not work. I have also tried the fm transmitter that fits my p3300 same as kokkie and yes you guessed that does not work. So we need a cradle that has a 3.5mm headphone socket to be able to use the fm transmitter feature. As I research different things for this phone I have realised HTC have made a big mistake taking away the universal capabilities of this phone’s mini usb socket. I have also noticed a few features that have stopped working hopefully this will be fixed with a soft reset. TomTom navigator 7 works a treat with the feature to swap maps from Europe to USA/Canada working a treat. Which will be needed when I go to Canada for 3 months snowboarding here http://www.bigwhite.com/ amongst 3 other resorts, as I use this phone more and try to add software and hardware to it I will keep this forum up to date. Krusell’s leather case fits a treat but the fold over flap is a pain as it folds down and not over the top like their p3300 case, only a small thing but they are all starting to add up. Apart from that it’s a cracking phone
i have this item it's not working...device gives wrong..HD not use mini usb for spekear,headset...it's garbage.
i don't understand...why does sell this item.....
hd fm cradle
The makers who produce the fm cradles and the vendors who sell these fm cradles assumed that because the HD has a mini usb port it would support audio out so rushed out production of the cradles and are now realising there mistakes. I have been fortunate, as the vendors I purchased from http://www.usbfever.com/ have agreed to send me the Revised Version from their supplier when it becomes available in 2/3 weeks time.
Well after some time of waiting www.usbfever.com got the new fm cradle through. They tested it and reported back to me saying they were not happy with the quality and offered me a refund or exchange so I opted for the exchange. Just hope that some one will produce an fm transmitter cradle as good as the fm transmitter on this mp3 player www.netac.com/productshow.php?id=82&typeid=46 it has rave reviews

I've seen a few threads about headphone adaptors, but haven't seen a definitive answer to my query, so I hope I'm not going over old ground.
I'm looking for a cable that plugs into my Wizard (O2 XDA Mini-S) at one end and at the other end has a mic, a clip (to attach it to clothes), and a socket for standard 3.5mm headphones - through which it will provide true stereo (not dual mono) sound. It needs to be a reasonable length, so that I can have my phone in my pocket and clip the mic to my collar.
If it can provide FM radio into the bargain (and take any necessary power from the Wizard) that'd be even better, but it's by no means essential.
Any recommendations (especially in the UK)?
Thanks,
Robb
Whoo Hoo!
I've been keeping an eye out for something like this too... and I think I've finally found some!
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202331964&listingid=11338726&dcaid=17902
http://www.aftermarketcellular.com/ic/ARM010VSEB.html
I'm going to do a bit more shopping before I buy anything but I'll post a review once I do.
check this out http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140285
I'd be afraid the Samsung one wouldn't work with the Wizard. It says several times it is for the listed models ONLY. It might be a standard plug, but I seem to recall seeing someone posting (probly on another forum) about problems using some 2.5mm connectors with the Wizard. The LG one might have the same problem, but both could also work fine.
I really like that HTC Bluetooth one! I wonder if I can get it in the US. How good is the sound quality over bluetooth?
It's true, not all 2.5 mm plugs are wired the same. I've had to open up the last one I bought and rewire it to make it work with the Wizard.
Watch Expansys - their web site (and their staff) are wrong.
Like many people on this forum, I have an O2 XDA Mini-S. When looking for a headphone adapter, I searched for a 'htc wizard headphone adapter' and was led to this unit by the search: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=127181
When you look at this adapter you can see that it includes this unit: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=118289
This is actually a different animal. This has a Mfr Part #: PPCPADPT15,eXpansys Code: 118289. This is an adapter for an O2 XDA III, not a Mini-S (it says so on the envelope)
When I repeat my search on PPCTech's web site I get this page (via tinyurl) http://tinyurl.com/2hkdym This shows that the adapter for an HTC wizard, or an O2 Mini-S is actually a PPCPADPT11, not a PPCPADPT15.
I tried to return the adapter and asked for the correct adapter for my phone only to be told by an arrogant and ignorant sales person that what I have is the correct adapter. He's been "selling these for four years and he knows what he is talking about" I tell him that sound only comes from one earpiece, and he says this is normal - you only get mono from this adapter. Utter rubbish!
Has anyone else worked out if the PPCPADPT11 is correct? If so, how did they convince eXpansys?
Cheers

Just the speaker works, the button and mike don't. I don't know if I broke something but it has got a 4 ring 2.5mm jack. it also aught to be pretty easy rewiring because of the standard 4p4c modular RJ10 connector. According to their website it should: "will work with most phones (Motorola, LG, Samsung)".
I've done some sporadic attempts to find a wiring schemes of the Wizard's jack connector but hadn't have much luck, would love to go B100 style sometimes!!!

I noticed on the that site is says the internal microphone will not work. Does that mean the jack only has 2 poles? A left/right audio out. No audio in for a microphone?
I am looking for an adapter i can use with an Iphone headset with line mic.

ProclipUSA (my favorite car mount) now has holders for the HTC Titan.
They list both the HTC Titan and the HTC Titan (AT&T) even though it is the same part number.
I have used their products for all my phones all the way back to the Cingular 8125 and they are the best I have ever found.

UK have cheap mount kits
I just purchased a complete car kit from phones 4 u in the UK £9.99 it included 12v car phone charger, windscreen holder, 3.5mm phono cable all work and fitted well
I did not buy this specific one, but something like it. The width is adjustable and worked perfect for the Titan.
I would verify with the seller before buying as I do not see the one I bought listed any longer.

It's freaken awesome. It comes with 2 extenders that you have to put on for the titan. To release, you just push downward with the phone. Your charger doesn't get wrapped up in this one either.
I’ve been very interested in this kit (ProClip). Can you tell me if, once the phone is secured in the holder, is the phone easily rotated while still keeping the tilt adjustment tight? I guess I am asking if the tilt and rotate are adjusted independently? Given that MS has yet to implement the landscape views of many of the media interfaces, I find myself having to frequently having to rotate between landscape and portrait.
how are you dealing with audio cabling?
TIA, T.J.

My Titan mount is arriving today. All the ProClip holders I have used were great for tilt and rotate. I even had one for my Tilt2 where you could go landscape and open the keyboard.
It is a superior product in every way. Also, it is very secure in the car and the locations are great for driving and looking at the screen at the same time.

ProClip USA Car Mount
I installed my ProClip car mount in my Jeep for use with my Titan.
It is as great as all the other ProClip mounts I have owned over the years!
You can tilt and rotate the phone and use your car charger as well.
These are the superior mounts.
If anyone is interested, I can post pics.
Can you still use the headphone jack? I just got my Titan and I like to play music through my stereo in my truck.

Yes, the headphone jack is still accessible while in the holder.
It does not use a suction cup mount.....the mount attaches to the vehicle dash board, but the installation does not require drilling or anything like that. It is not permanent and can be removed from the vehicle.
The important thing to remember is when using a ProClip system, the vehicle mount is specific to your vehicle and the holder is specific to your phone. However, I have not found a strong, better mount if you use your phone in the car frequently.
You can rotate and tilt the holder as you see fit. In the last picture you can see how it attaches and I have it tilted far forward.

Car Panel is something HTC offers on their Android phones.
For WP, I'm wondering if "Car Panel" is the same as "Dock Mode".

I wonder if there is anupdate coming, when you check the Andriod version is looks nothing like the the location app. No that WP7 doesnt have big icons (hubs), Adroid does not.
I'm pretty sure those instructions are for an HTC Android phone.

I have just bought this car kit too and there is no auto launch of car panel too. It is written in the manual that NaviPanel automatically opens when your phone is docked on the cradle of the car holder. But, it seems that NaviPanel is for android phone's only.

Hi! All. is it possible to use bluetooth headphones to listen to music with the galaxy tab? any compatibility issues i should be looking out for before buying if its possible to use.
of coz it is possible
Even better, the 7.7 supports the APT-X Bluetooth codec/profile, which sounds noticeably better than regular A2DP. Of course you need a receiver that supports APT-X as well.
I picked up an LG Tone Bluetooth headset.
It allows phone calls (with my tablet or my EVO) and can be used as a stereo headset for videos, music, etc.
Battery lasts a long time and works great for me.

Hmm, I doubt that the hardware is different in the Verizon version - also, APT-X can be both AFAIK, either hardware- or software-wise implemented. Maybe it's just a firmware difference, or maybe they just didn't write down the whole specs.
Nah, haven't tried those Senns - do they support APT-X? (So far my only experience with APT-X was on the Creative Zen X-Fi 3 with a small Samsung APT-X adapter/receiver, and my regular IEMs plugged in. The sound quality was pretty much as good as wired, to my ears.)

I use a set of Sony DR-BT21G headphones. They are excellent but alas they were discontinued a few years ago and Sony never brought out a followup model :-(
The only real drawback to them is lack of USB charging - they use a silly 3.3V Sony charger (which I think was also used for minidisc players, perhaps why they chose it as maybe they originally thought to make it for MD players).
I plan on using my Motorola S10 HD when I get my tab. They work really well with my xoom currently.

Skullcandy ink'd mic'd
Hi,
i bought a Skullcandy ink'd mic'd today which was mentioned as compatible with iPhone. unfortunately it is not compatible with my Xperia Neo. I have to push down the talk button in order to hear proper sound. other times it echoes. The same headset works fine on my laptop and desktop. just letting u all know so that u dont make the same mistake I did.
Edit : Read on another thread that this can be fixed by using an 3.5mm audio M to F adapter. From what I understand it has something to do with the pin configuration.
Can anyone confirm if this is true? Then I can probably look for this adapter online. Please provide any indian link for this adapter if possible.
Thanks in advance
sure it has to do with pinout sony made a stupid decision on this one
as with chargers there should be a pinout for all earphones.

If you are looking for earphones for the iPod or iTouch I can highly recommend Shure SE310's or Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro's. Both are excellent earphones for the money.
I use a pair of Audio-Technica CKM-55. They were on promotion and not only was the price reduced, they also gave a smartphone adapter free of charge. (works on every phone except the old Sony Ericsson Xperias and Nokia, the new Sony Xperias work from what I've heard)
That's really weird . Long time ago I brought an urban ears headphone . Once I plug into my Mini Pro / Neo V , the system will prompt a message indicate this is not a official device and refuse to work . There are some additional converter bundle in the package but none of them work (except the audio only one) .
Recently I flashed a 3rd party ROM , and , the headphone now works flawlessly with Nokia converter ! How amazing !
I changed the bundled headphones 3 times before I got tired of going to the store I bought the phone. One of the plugs would always get a lower volume then the other. So I bought these Phillips she9005 in-ear headphones I while back. Quality is good, and they are built a way which make the suitable when you do sports. You can get them with or without mic. I have the version without.
Am using sony livesound hi-fi headset. These are awesome.

And very cheap now too.
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
Im using skull candy Ink'D red, awesome sound.
It's a long shot, but anyone have any idea whether or not the NP would support USB-to-digital audio out? I want to connect my NP directly to my soundbar via digital optical so that I don't have to keep my TV on (because of HDMI) to stream music for hours. I found this for about $8: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCM2704-USB-DAC-Power-Sound-Card-Decoding-Deck-/291547997444

Thoughts?
You will just have to try it. Have never used one of those but can confirm that the cheap USB to 3.5mm audio works fine. I needed it for the same reason, for my sound bar.
I suggest this one...

ViewHD HDMI Audio Extractor
Model: VHD-H2HARC
36.95$
I'll buy one when I'm ready

Found it for $9 on Amazon with free shipping (Prime)...should be easy to return if it doesn't work, too: http://www.amazon.com/Phantom-YoYo-PCM2704-Coaxial-Raspberry/dp/B00J5NCVZA/
I'll report back and write a review if it works!

Yeah, I found that one after making the thread. Currently listed for less than $30, too.
Personally, it's more than I want to spend and I don't like that it requires a separate power supply, but it's probably a more robust solution. There are knockoffs on eBay (possibly of inferior quality) for about $17: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1080P-HDMI-...ractor-Converter-Audio-Splitter-/271802547143

I saw there are 2 version
a version with hdmi 1.3 and another with hdmi 1.4 and ARC...
with hdmi v1.3 is a bit cheaper, but I really don't know about the differences...
this is the only way I have with an old FullHD LCD TV to play 5.1 with my old DTS/DD 5.1 Kenwood receiver
I'm a little sceptic about the usb audio converter

No need to be! Got it today and it works perfectly. The blue LED is kind of bright and I wish it had an enclosure (eBay has plenty in an aluminum enclosure, but no empty ones AFAIK), but it looks like any board with the PCM2704 chip will do the trick. Not bad for $7-8.

Well, this is getting a little beyond me, but I'll tell what what I think this chipset/adapter does and does not do. Feel free to correct me, as I may not understand it very well.
PCM is the uncompressed form that all digital audio takes. DD and DTS are compressed, lossy formats that require decoders to decompress (DD TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are the lossless varieties). I have no idea what the NP can output via USB, but this card handles only PCM audio (most cheap converters only handle PCM due to the high DD/DTS licensing fees).
Uncompressed PCM takes up quite a bit of bandwidth and I'm pretty sure that optical and coax connections are limited to 2.0 or 2.1 PCM data, so I'm pretty sure this card only spits out 2.0 or 2.1. Which is fine, since my soundbar is only a 2.1 system and I want to use this specifically with Pandora and other audio apps so that I can stream without leaving the TV on all day (which I have to do if I run the audio through HDMI). If you're looking for a higher-end audio card that supports audio encoding/compression (or, rather, will pass compressed audio through to your receiver/soundbar/TV/whatever), the HDMI audio extractor is likely your best bet.
The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II USB Sound Card/Digital Adapter is known to be compatible with the Shield TV. It was plug and play for the user in the following YouTube video and he uses it with his sound bar, search:
"The Best Way to Add Optical Audio Out to Nvidia Shield TV Console"
Amazon is Temporarily sold out but I think you can get them from Turtle Beach.
