I was wondering if the radio version could be the cause of my phone not receiving the voice mail notifications? It shows on the front when i get a voice mail but it doesn't say new voice mail above it, it has a V looking thing above it. Nothing shows in my notifications so I cant clear off the new voice mail symbol at the top of my phone even after i check the voice mail and make sure I have no new voice mails. Anyone have an idea how to fix this problem? Thanks for help with all my stupid problems and questions.
VoiceMail
hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any idea why voicemail notifications will not clear. I have unlocked my cingular 3125 and flashed the ROM to WM 6.1. I have no voicemails and it still says there is a new voice message. I have two carriers a local and ATT. Both my cingular 3125 phones are unlocked but whatever phone my local sim card is in tells me there is a new voice message. any ideas?

I am VERY happy with my xda Atom Life, but I am having a serious problem not getting voicemail alerts. I've read prior posts about this, and have given up expecting to find a way to get the standard "message tape" icon from T-Mobile. Feeling clever, I decided a great work-around was to go with YouMail - have my voicemails directed to the Youmail service where they in turn immediately send a standard text message alerting me that I have a voicemail. Well - wouldn't you know it - for some strange reason I don't get the voicemail text message alerts either! I DO get general text messages (friends, etc); in fact, EVERYTHING works great, but it's as if the Gods above are intent that I will never again be alerted to my voicemails by any method (T-Mobile basic VoiceMail or YouMail). Is there ANY work-around? Is there a common denominator here that I'm missing (other than I'm not getting voicemail alerts from two different services who use two different alerting protocols?) I'm completely stumped and have invested hours into this problem already.
Thanks for any guidance/ideas/clues,
Lee

Could it be that my MMS settings are set to Vodafone (Australia)? I'm in the USA. My modem configuration is correct and I breeze through the internet (via Edge) plus get emails no problem. Is it possible that YouMail sends its text messages MMS instead of SMS?

(sigh)
Oh well - I continue to miss my voicemails and have to keep calling in to see if any are waiting. I'm beginning to not like my xda anymore...
I have the same problem and it is driving me nuts!
I have tried all of the above. The only other option is a program called isecretary . The only realtime voice machine avail for ppc but the program is buggy and also cost minutes as it answers all calls and lets you hear the other end leave the message so you can screen the calls you want to answer and which ones you want to not answer...
My work-around
Finally got YouMail to work - the folks at YM tech support were very helpful, and it turned out all I needed was a reset of the YouMail account. So far it has been working perfectly for a week. Great voicemail service - and it's free! Sends me a text message immediately upon receipt of a voice message telling me who called. All it costs me is the text message - and with a text message package add-on, it's only $5 more a month.
Hi Everyone,
I have a sprint touch pro and I am using Google voice as my voice mail provider. Since I no longer use sprint as the voice mail provider I don't get the nice voice mail notification on my phone. Is there a way to hack the phone so that when someone leaves me a voice mail on Google voice I would get the notification on my phone? I hope I explained this correctly and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jerry
No...the voicemail notification comes from the network. Google Voice wouldn't have the ability to send that signal to your phone. The best you can do is have them send you a text message notifying you of new voicemail. Unless someone can write some sort of intermediary driver to intercept that type of formatted text (similar to what other apps do like nuegpssecurity) and notify you otherwise.

Thanks

how is google voice for voicemail? havent really looked into what google voice is actually
Can't you have the voicemail transcriptions sent to an email address? Why not just set up an email account on your phone to receive them?
There is an option on google voice for it to send a message to your cellphone when you have a voicemail.
It's under:
Settings
General>Notifications
If you just have GV transcribe your VM to texts and then SMS it to your mobile phone, you'll probably never have listen to a voice message again. That's what I did and I don't believe that I have called in for my VM messages once since I did this many months ago.
My HD2 has a small issue with the phone showing I have a voice mail when in actual fact I don't.......
Could this be it has remembered I have one stored and will not lose the message until I delete this voicemail even though it is being saved...
I really need to keep the message I have saved for work purposes..
Regards Lee
Just tested this, and my voicemail icon disappears (after a short time) when I've listened to but not deleted a voicemail.
Vodafone UK stock 1.72 ROM and CHT 1.7.1.2.
Okay so google voice is registered to redirect to google voice but all my voicemails are going to my carrier voice mail.
Should I call AT&T and turn off carrier voice mails permanentely so everything will be forced to google voice? I HATE my carrier voicemail.
MY ERROR : Call Settings Error
Forwarding number change unsuccessful. Please contact your carrier if this problem presists...
Running Neutrino CM7 v2.8
*UPDATE*
Called AT&T and had them disable my voicemail and now it's working fine.
Hello all, recently I switched my sim card from an HTC One to my Lumia 920. This caused me some issues with voicemail. Instead of the stock voicemail settings on the phone, my google voice voicemail settings transfered over. Now this isn't a huge issue in and of itself, however I do not receive notifications on the phone when I have a voicemail. Is there anyway to get the notifications? Or should I just switch to AT&Ts stock voicemail?
