ok is that just a cab file i need to download?
edit: tried it and it didnt work for me and i dont know how to do his fix any other options?
Yes, download and install the cab file. Then go into the directory using file explorer and delete the tweaks file, and soft reset. You should be good to go!

thank you worked like a charm
If you want to keep the Tweaks.xml so you can use the performance tweaks, do a search on here and you'll find an enhanced Tweaks.xml file that will work with your TP. I found it and was able to get some more speed out of touchflo...
download a custom rom and tweak away =)
OK, i already removed the the locked alltel programs on the tf3d tab (ie: ringtones jukebox, get alltel games) and even went a step further by going into file explorer, windows folder and start menu folder and I deleted the bloatware programs that i never used (i dont need the ringtones program thanks to mp3 trimmer ). I've deleted all of the files for it but there is one that i cant uninstall. Ive used various file programs like the windows file explorer, total commander, and resco and still cant delete the files. Is there any way for me to remove these programs?

It was easy, download the program, install it, go into the install directory, delete the file called tweaks, restart the device and run the program, click on the program launcher tab on the bottom and remove any programs you don't want to show.
Thanks for the tip, worked like a charm!!

The way i deleted them was i went into file explorer then into the WINDOWS/Start Menu/Programs. Delete the programs that u dont want by pressing and holding the item until a menu pops up then select "delete". This takes away the programs u dont want from your programs menu. I went a step further and navigated back to the WINDOWS directory then searched for the filename of the program i didnt want (i e Ringtone jukebox) i then deleted those programs and they were completely removed from all of my phone menus.

Anyone find this problem, my File Explorer not response when I try to copy or delete some file. Onely End task can stop that error, event i make soft reset still come error again.
Thanks
I have a similar problem...
However, for mine, when I copy and paste a file, the "hourglass" keeps going and going and going. After a while I just press the X and close the application.
When I open it again the file I was moving is moved and everything is where it should be (ie. copy and paste was successful)
I've got the I-mate 1.72 rom

Same problem as yours... The problem doesn't exist if using third party explorer.
I have another problem which made me decided to hard-reset it: Whenever I install an apps or game, I could not find the newly installed program shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs or \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games, I would need to soft-reset my device to make it appear.
I know how to resolve this problem
first goto Start---Program---AutoConfig-- then change network you want or leave default your system will running smooth again.
DON"T WORRY, your data will not lose.
Thanks
Actually, there is an awesome program you can use instead of the MS File Explorer. I just installed this because of these headaches, works good!
https://www.handango.com/PlatformPr...&order=desc&catalog=30&txtSearch=File+Manager
Some reasons
1. No compatible new fonts (may be for dictionary) with File Explorer
2. No compatible new themes (ppc2002) with File Explorer
Solution
Delete new font from windows/fonts
Back to theme windows default then soft reset
well i was trying to use it but after installing a few apps i ran out of memory already
i remember reading somewhere i can delete the cab files that activesync sends through when it installs software
where is that folder located? i cant seem to find the post anymore and i cant find the files on my ppc =(
thank you
mmm i also wanna now this i'm always running out of memory
ahh i found it i think...after i went back to 1.50i =p
its application data/volatile
there's only some empty folders there, or are the files hidden ?
to be honest...i have no idea =)
but i was using tweak.net 3.9.1 and found the temp dir to be there
in "appmgr" file... when you load any file uninstall file's is locating there...
Hi all,
In my previous Sprint Mogul ROM, I can safely remove HTC_CM_Guardian.exe and sddaemon.exe by going to \Windows\Startup folder. This is per recommendation from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334536&highlight=htc_cm_guardian.exe
These 2 files created havoc in my previous ROM, including slow connection and short battery life.
However, with the new Official Sprint ROM (which enable GPS) function, I can NO longer remove it because:
1) It's no longer shown in \Windows\Startup folder
2) It's not shown anywhere in the Registry
3) Moving the file to a temp folder (Storage Card) somehow recreate the file.
Any suggestion?
What if when you moved the file to the temp folder, you created a folder or blank text file in the /Windows directory with the same name as the guardian.exe? that might prevent it from recreating itself and starting up.
Or try copying/pasting a blank text file of the same name into /Windows and overwrite the exe

I did, but I found out the file is a ROM file, so it's protected. I can copy to a Storage Card, but deleting or replacing it with a bogus file (I created a text file with the same .exe name) will give error that the file is protected.
In the past, I leave the actual .exe alone but just removed the startup shortcut in \Windows\startup. But I could not find any references in the Startup folder or Registry on how the file is started.

I've tried Resco Explorer and it won't allow for a deletion of the .exe either.
So the file cannot be deleted. Anyone know how the file is loaded everytime the device reboot? note that it's NOT loaded from \Windows\Startup nor registry.
I was wondering the same thing. It doesn't even show up as a running task or service...
I just made a new connection and set that as my new default one as I was tired of it removing my DNS entries.
are u sure it boots up or the could have renamed it
Yes, it started by itself. I reset my device and using Memaid and SKTool I can see it starting again.

I can confirm that this works. Using resco explorer I changed the attributes from a read only file and then copied a text file overtop.

i tried to change the attributes using total commander and it just resets the settings right back after saving. still stuck...
ok i even tried using resco explorer. it says that its a file in the rom and it cant be deleted. and that was after changing the attributes as well. both times i also killed the running process. are you using the new rom?

I believe the key here is that he 'copied a text file overtop'.
I don't think you can change attributes or delete a rom file, just copy over it.

OK, I didn't bother checking the attributes after the change... Was up past 4 and was trying to remove both the Guardian and ssdaemon. After a success with copy over one I decided to rush and just repeat exactly what I did to the other.

how do I get the settings to stay?
hard reset (so you'll lose everything) then DO NOT let customizations run!!!!
it won't be installed. if you need something else from the extROm you can enable it and selectively install cabs.

I am looking for the file explorer.exe that allows you to delete files from the rom. It was posted awhile back and I just recently lost due to a HDD crash. I believe is was included in one of the old WM5 roms but was also posted as a download also. I used to drag it to the Windows Directory and actually overwrite the built in explorer. I have searched and searched and cannot find it. Can someone please help....
Thanks
try resco explorer, it lets you overwrite the rom BUT it is a commercial program and requires registration. I believe a trial version is available.
Thanks I own that also. But the one I was referring to was created by someone on here. I thought it was Dr. Putt but I could be wrong. I just dragged the file over to the windows directory and it overwrote the windows file explorer. I have to keep looking. But that you for the response.....
Rob
I also only use Resco, but I recall hearing that TotalCommander could do what you're looking for. Not sure if TC is free or commercial, just chiming in...
if you dont want the original file explorer, why dont you just delete the .ink file out of startmenu? this will remove the old explorer icon from programs menu.
It's not that I don't like it there. The version I am refering to actually let you delete things stored in the rom. With resco thanks for all your suggestions though!
If you do run across it drop me a line....
Thanks
OK, so I installed some games to my SD card. I just updated my LEO Rom to v13. Now I dont know how to get the icons for them back on the device and show on the start page. Im sure there is someone who knows how to to do this. Please help!!! I have looked through this forum so long I have gone blind. Thanks.........
browse to the folder for the game, one file will probably be an .exe file, press and hold, copy, browse to the windows/start menu/programs folder and choose menu edit paste shortcut
Some bits of software might require reinstalling on a new rom, but they are few and far between.

Thanks. Also, is there any way to create a new link in the start menu to the .exe on the storage card?
