Damn... I was hoping you woundlt say that...
That tread has become stagnant and it seems as if no one is contributing to it....

Well, there have been no new radios for a while now.
I think the general consensus (and certainly my opinion) is that the Telus radio is very good.

ROMS FOR CDMA Version of Raphael?

Ok, sorry to ask a silly question that I am sure is all over this thread.
The reason i dont find it, its because I am a HTC Tilt user and familiar with that section.
Are there no roms yet for the CDMA version? Sprint?
If so can someone post a link what HARD SPL to use and where are the roms? I dont see any in this CDMA section?
You can find the CDMA unlockers here:

I believe most of the CDMA Roms are all good for each of our vendor specific devices. You have to make sure you use the carrier specific unlocker but after that, you "should" be good to go.
It will always say (at least most times) in the rom thread what carrier it was developed and tested under and other compatible carriers as well.

Not correct. The same SPL unlocker may be applied to the same device. The Sprint, Telus, and Bell Touch Pros are all the same devices and may use the same unlocker and ROMs. The Verizon device is a different hardware model.

In addition to the ROM, some carrier specific settings may be incorporated into the ROM build or after flashing with a specific carrier CAB.

The devices are the Raphael 500 for Verizon and Raphael 800 for Sprint, Telus, and Bell.
It is best to describe the devices by model rather than confusing people with only a carrier one is familiar with.

Thanks, but this just goes to the Wiki, which as of this posting doesn't seem to list any cooked ROMs for the Sprint Raphael 800.
Yeah I've been looking for a cooked rom for the Sprint too

Are you guys looking under a rock? TP Roms don't fit under rocks.
There are a handful of excellent roms and detailed instructions (that you will need) on how to unlock your devices and flash to a new rom.
Please visit www.PPCGeeks.com in the Touch Pro Upgrades forum to be precise, and you will find ALL the information you are looking for.
I have enough sense to type ppcgeeks' url address in my web browser and search for roms. Last I checked this was xda-developers, I was hoping to find a good Alltel rom HERE.
I'm using Conflipper's latest Alltel rom from ppcgeeks, and it works great. But like all flashing junkies, I need my next fix. I was hoping I'd find something new over here. I wish DCD would ditch his Titan and get a Touch Pro. He made my Mogul an almost tolerable device. I can only imagine what he could do with a phone like the Touch Pro.

all CDMA roms^ best place to find them =]
Too Bad it's Down!
Yes, there are some great ROMS over there, but why are there none here? What if PPC geeks was to go down or something ? lol
I'm using one from Juicy (his last) that I'm getting 2 days of battery life out of, with my normal apps and hotmail pushing. I can skip a night of charging before bed and I still have a phone! Woot!

Rather than selfishly complaining about others not serving you -- why don't YOU contribute to the XDA-Wiki for links to CDMA ROMs...?
The gimme attitude of some is bothersome to many developers who spent their own time for the benefit of the community.

I don't have a "gimme" attitude. If I were demanding that someone from xda-developers make me an alltel rom, that would be a gimme attitude. I simply wanted to know if there were any available on the forum, and if so, WHERE.
Wasn't selfishly complaining about not being served either. Actually, I was bragging about how great DCD's roms are, and hoping out loud that he makes one for the TOUCH PRO.
Read before you post, genius.

I'm using Juicy's 4.7 ROM but you will not be able to find it on PPCGeeks because Microsoft shut him down!!!!
I think they said that he had something from there Win Mobile 7 in his ROM...... but don't quote me.
All I can say is that I was one of the lucky ones that got to download it before it was removed and like the comment was made earlier, I have at least 2 days of battery life and that with using the my phone on a regular!!! and pushing email.
It's great!!!!
Try Dream's ROM it is really good also.

CDMA ROMs are hard to find

I'm sure this has been asked and answered. I tried to search for an answer before posting this.
It's very difficult to find CDMA ROMs here. In the Titan world, CDMA ROM Dev is a seperate forum. Why not over here?
if I may make a suggestion to the moderator, maybe something on the WIKI to explain for us Late Adopters.
Sorry in advance,
Matt
this rafael forum does have a CDMA only section. besides, with the thousands of customers sprint is loosing a month it will most likely become more difficult to find cooks.
Uh, there's the Raphael CDMA forum if you scroll up one. Also, ppcgeeks.com is where the cdma users appear to hang out.

Can the ROMs that don't say whether they are GSM or CDMA be used for either one?

My question is, I see the CDMA ONLY rom section but there is only 1 ROM in there. I can't get my sound or notifications to work so I have to try another one or stick with the stock ROM. I need sound and notifications or I will not hear when my stuff arrives and like yesterday, I missed a lot.
Can any of the ROMs that don't say whether they are for GSM ONLY? Or can I not use a single ROM in the Raphael ROM development section? If my question is confusing let me know. I have the sprint HTC Touch Pro(CDMA), and I would like to try one of these ROMs that don't say GSM only... Some of the ROMS don't designate which one they will only work on.
I don't wanna brick my phone so any help would be greatly appreciated... Maybe everyone should designate if it's CDMA, GSM, or both so that no one bricks their phone just for that reason.
Thanks for the help and I appreciate all the work. If I find a ROM that i'll use... I will definitely donate.
Dan
Unless they specifically say they are CDMA, assume they are GSM. There isn't a ROM that can work on both tmk.

Yea, most here are GSM, I suggest you check out PPC Geeks, they are mostly CDMA and have quite a few ROM's over there. Thats the best advice I can give you!
Thanks very very much for your answers guys. I absolutely love djbeames CDMA Rom but I just need the sounds and notifications. I beleive he is having progress. I like ya'lls work and responses as I've said, i've been using this site for over a year now. I may check out ppc-geeks but ultimately my final ROM choice will be from XDA.
Sorry if I posted a thread with an already answered question. I always use the search function and this is propbably my first thread since i've started using this site over a year ago.
I've read a lot but there's more and more and more. I plan to read it all but I just didn't have time to look through a bunch of pages or text to find an answer that I couldn't find in the search function. Thought it would be ok if I just made a quick thread asking. Next time I'll probably PM one of you guys.
Thanks for the responses, later guys.

I know you said that you really like xda (I don't blame you) but i have to +1 that ppc geeks recommendation. It seems like they are pretty much the opposite of what you find here in that the majority of their work is for cdma rather than gsm.

What is the best radio ROM for sprint?

so far the only response i have seen is try each one out. does anyone have a definitive answer? can't there be one Radio Rom that is the best for sprint? and if not, can someone explain the differences between the different radio roms for sprint?
P.S. Can someone post a link to StarROM? can't find a link on XDA. thanks
Radio
I may be wrong but someone will correct me but I believe each of the radios out there will perform differently given your specific geographic location. So it's necessary for you to try each one out for a couple of days and see how it performs on your phone. You might be able to find some forum members that live in your area that could provide some past experiences but your better off just trying each one. They are quick and easy to change so you might as well give them all a shot. As far as I know the radio might improve your overall battery life as well.

For CDMA Touch Pro ROMs, you would want to keep an eyehere. (Hint, try EnergyROM 3.0 too .)
ive tried them all and have found for battery life and signal and everything else...the telus radio is by far the best IMO...

I like the Telus radio as well.
n
moved to correct thread
telus. easily.
ummm. ok sounds like telus is great. buuuutttt im on sprint. does that work?
Any of the posted CDMA radios for the Touch Pro work with any CDMA carrier. I'm currently running the Verizon radio on my Sprint Touch Pro with no issues. I tried the Telus but in my area it sucked and significantly reduced battery life. The Verizon has been the best so far. It's all trial and error with these radios. Just try and see.
yes. i have sprint. the telus radio works on the sprint touch pro.
ok. i stay mostly in arizona, but i travel to vegas, and sometimes kansa city. any thoughts? would the lastest sprint radio be better than my stock one?

No recovery after brightstar RUU

Hey everyone, I am stuck. Finally got around to playing, and ran the Brightstar RUU to change phone into Dev edition. Everything went perfect thanks to all these great threads here, but now I don't have ANY recovery installed. I didn't notice if it was gone after S-Off'ing, or after the RUU, but now nothing. Has anyone heard of this, and can I put a recovery back on? I DL'd a stock, but I really would like CWM. If anyone can point me in the right direction, much thanks.

Hey, I wanted to thank everyone for NOT posting any answers. Through the help of these forums, I was able to muddy my way through and find the solutions that I seek. Another learning experience for sure. Solution is that even though phone was S-Off, the bootloader had to be RE-unlocked to flash a recovery. But I am sure everyone but me knew that

Sorry I didn't see your question in time, just so you know (or i guess you figured out), no-one really monitors the at&t forums. In it's best times their were only about 25 of us in here. In the future take your questions and concerns to the international One forums and you'll have much better luck. At one time their was talk of combining the two forums because all the GSM phones are basically identical.

Oh no, it really is ALL good, I learned so much from it, and it came from both the forums. That's what this site is all about, at least for me it is. I am dang proud of being able to take all the knowledge and posts and ACTUALLY make it work for myself without giving up. The people on this site are just awesome! Just one problem, and thanks to the posts, I learned 5 new tricks!
