Is anyone working on getting Android to run on Sprint's version of the HTC Touch Pro? WM6 is flaky, slow, and just plain aggravating. I've tried PPC's kitchen but couldn't cook up anything due to errors writing some dll.
so if you don't want it, buy G1 or iPhone or anything else
please search before you post

Hi,
I'm the proud owner of a T-Mobile MDA II with vga camera. Half an hour ago I happend to find this interesting forum.
What is this Windows Mobile 2005? I've never heard of it. I searched the Microsoft website, but I didn't find anything.
I have no idea which OS is installed on my MDA... the ROM version is 1.72.01GER (in case that helps).
So... in case I want to upgrade my MDA.... what do I have to do, where do I get the files from etc. And, what is this upgrade all about? Is it a totally new OS, or what is it? I have no idea
Thanks for your help
Bye

Hi Bauer,
I too am a newbee. Just joined this forum about a month ago. If I may give you a clue ( though I'm not an expert in it), the Windows Mobile 2005 is supposed to be the next mobile phone OS from Microsoft. It is said to have many more user-friendly features than the one you are currently using. However it has not yet been officialy released in the market (I even doubt if its ready yet). But thanks to our great Buzz Lightyear (http://buzzdev.net) we are fortunate to get the taste of the new promised features. Buzz had managed to create his own version of the said OS and named it the Magneto. Why don't you try to drill further into other area of this forum or go to http://buzzdev.net. I'm sure you'll get the idea, and as it happened to me I'm sure you'll like it too. Good Luck.
Hi again Bauer,
Regarding the question as to where to get ROM upgrade, you can try this link http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=124&Itemid=32 to get the copy of the new ROM upgrade. However you are supposed to register yourself first to be able to access the link. There (and in this forum too) you will get a clear description & instruction for the ROM upgrade.
I would also like to get this opportunity to apologize to the forum (especially to Buzz and the development team) for not being polite enough to say 'thank you' for all the work you've done. I've had no significant problem with either the upgrading process or the tweaking around with both hardware and software (incl. 3rd parties). Everything works fine with my machine since day one I did the upgrade. I love the work. Thank you all, and have a nice day.
Hi Bauer,
Spend time reading the wiki site too which will provide you with a lot of background about your new toy and the sort of things you can tweak/ develop or pick up that others have done.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Also learn to use the search function of this website as you can find most of the answers for yourself without relying upon good folk to give the same advice to the next newbee in the queue asking the same questions ('nuff said, we've all been newbees at sometime).
Once you've read relevant parts of the wiki and are comfortable that you want to risk changing your ROM (there are numerous pitfalls you risk (e.g. warrantee invalidation) and ultimately totally killing your machine if you have two left feet/ power surge/ massive bad luck etc) search these forums will educate you to the experiences of others developing/ beta testing/ exploring. Buzz's versions of WM5 are narrated a:

Remember to pay due homage to all his hard work.
Beyond that enjoy.

I swear I saw someone post a thread about their cooked WM6 ROM somewhere that would allow you to run the Touch's TouchFlo interface on a Hermes. Did I imagine this or has someone seen either a ROM with TouchFlo or the TouchFlo application itself somewhere?

OWW REALLY DOES NOBODY USE SEARCH ANYMORE?! There are so many threads about Touchflo & the files etc..come on people..dont be so lazy and just search..
stupid this..
The called it "ButtonFlo" cause it ran but the Touch part of it didn't work. It also ran very poorly.
What sucks is that it runs beautifully (Touch and all) on my buddies 8125 Wizzard! We got the better device too!
why is it working on wizard and not hermes? That is got to be fixed sometime?

If you just LEARN HOW TO USE THE ****ING SEARCH BUTTON you know why.
...
wow... this bram guy is helpful.
bram guy hahaha
yeh he is isnt he
there are numerous individuals working to enable touchflo as a "touch" function. Now that the flurry of activity is dying down from the new ATT rom release, I'm sure it'll return to being a priority. Keep an eye on the main threads- as I'm sure eveyrone will know once a solution is found.
Also:
Come on guys - we've all been there once. Give 'em a chance, polietly redirect, then after a few chances - PM them a flaming message. There isn't any reason to be arrogant about it - especially out here. The guillotine shouldn't be the first reaction to someone's question.

palm pre rom
Are you serious...? This probably doesnt exist, and your not really looking at the right website. This is mainly for WinMo and a little Android here and there....
Why on earth would you want on on your fuze
The fuze is a great device with great ROMs why would you want a Palm Pre ROM for a fuze?
Its like puting windows 98 on a brand new MacBook Pro, now why would you do that??? try something like the EnergyROM I find it very stable and full of good tools and tweaks. Its also eye candy!!!
All I can say is LOL! and let the flaming begin!
Merrell
This Gaza-god fellow should be banned. He is constantly opening "find me a Palm Pre stuff" threads in different Raphael sub-forums, and he's soooooo annoying.
No such thing exists, please search before starting new threads.
Can I ask that you take sometime to review the forum rules before you continue posting on this site.
Thanks
Dave
Hi All,
I am sure this topic has been answered many times however I tried a search and cannot find the information I require. I would like to take My verizon Wireless vx6800 and uprade from WinMo 6.1 to 6.5. I have found alot of nice builds on this website. I would like to use the 6.5 designed by Ryan Mogul. My questions however is to just install 6.5 do I need to unclock my phone? I don't want to switch carriers or anything. I want to be able to have 6.5 and have MMS and GPS. I want all of the original functionality. Do I need to also get a radio cab as well as an MMS/GPS cab?
I'm sorry for the long post as I am still VERY new to this.
Thank You in advance.
NVM. i figured it out. I did ALOT of reading and after the better part of a few hours I now have 6.5 on my phone.

There will never be a Windows Mobile 7 for the HD2.
another lame thread as usual
OK, the thread is pretty bad, and could probably have been avoided with a bit of research. Still, i dont understand why you all cry in despair when a new thread pops up..Its not as if it was costing you money personnaly when a lame thread appears...
just let it go down if you are not interested. I also am interested to see developements in W7 for HD2, but cant really be bothered to browse other websites, so if people have interesting info they are willing to share, it could be interesting.

The reason it pisses some folk that some people would rather just post a thread rather than use the Search function on this site.
Now if you do a search for WP7 on the HD2 you will get loads of threads instead of just a few - all because some folks were to lazy to do a search.
