Turn data connection on and off via program icon - Touch Pro CDMA

I have down loaded and am using two great cab files that I am now using on my Sprint TP. One is BT on/off, and the other is WIFI on/off. In particular I have mapped BT on/off to a soft key on my TF3d home screen (easier than having to take 3 steps to access comm manager) Quickly turn BT on and off (toggle).
Does any on know if there are any cabs out there that create a program icon to turn on, and turn off the Sprint data connection (toggle it on and off, like the sliding comm manager feature?
I would map it to another softkey on my TF3d home location. I am already aware of being able to terminate the data connection via the long press option quick list.
I like to turn off the connection, fairly quick after I use it to conserve battery.

Bump. Any one know how to do this?

as far as the last line in your post...
if you have advanced config 3.3
go to
menu > more settings > connections >
there you will see an option to automatically turn off your data connection after a specific time... from a few seconds to hours...
ive set it to 1 min... seems to be workin.

Thanks, I already did that. It works, I just like to have the ability to do it manually one click.

today plugin to switch between WCDMA and gsm

Hi.
My battery drains very quickly in my area (HSDPA). But if i force GSM then the battery lasts two or three days and i only need hsdpa 3 or 4 times by day, for example
20010-04-20 (V2.9)
1) The combo box that stores the model keeps the value when the program is restarted.
2) Fixed problems with owner names starting/ending with spaces.
3) other minor bugs
2009-11-27 (V2.8)
1) Compatibility with new Bluetooth Widcomm stack (HTC Touch Pro2, HTC Touch HD2, etc);
2) Compatibility to switch band with HTC Touch HD2
3) Compatibility to switch band with Toshiba TG01
4) switching is faster because now I dont turn radio off, just unregister and register from network. No need to enter automatically PIN code too.
2007-09-25 (V2.4.2)
Compatibility with Kaiser
Changes in 1.2.3:
Fix a bug in 1.2.1-1.2.1. Auto mode didnt work properly and switch delay action too.
Changes in V1.2.2 :
Some GSM operators intercepts http not found requests and redirects to help pages. It can cause unknown effects on bandswith who tries to look for the version number in the response stream.....
Changes in 1.2.1:
Buffer overrun bug in devices with very long radio manufacturer name (caused bandswitch fall).
Bandswith now detects if is running on WM5 or WM6 so now only switch twice if switching from GSM to UMTS band in WM6 devices. So now one only version for WM5 and WM6
Dual line support with two pin codes.
If the password(s) is/are incorrect the device will sound and vibrate and show Pin Page.
Pin enable user: remember to enter pin(s) again after reinstall.

And with gsm i can use real mail but with hsdpa the battery is empty in 5 or 6 hours. I am looking a tool to switch between gsm and hsdpa in today screen. I know that i can do it in phone/options/band but it's very boring. Can someone help me?. If now i will write a little program (today plugin) and i will post it.
Thanks

as far as i know nothing like this exists
Cool Idea.
This is shouldnt be that difficult to achieve...
Use SetHSDPA.exe and link it to the Wireless Manager today plugin. Then everytime you tap the wireless plugin it then turns on/off the HSDPA functionality?
AFAIK band selection can be done changing a setting in registry, so this can be done with mortscript.
1. google SKSchema... it's a program which will allow you to do this (it's not free, but i think the price is awesome for what you can do with it), and download it.
2. Download these scripts that someone else made...
3. Drop the scripts in the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\sScripts directory
4. Go to your phone's Settings, and choose Menu
5. Scroll down and select any of the new scripts (I am personally using the toggle script).
**alternatively, you can assign a button to it
***additionally, I use this program's Soft Reset feature to automatically soft reset my phone at 5 in the morning to make sure that when i get up in the morning the phone had a chance to reboot and has a fresh start...
hope this helps!

Does this solution allow you to switch between 'U' and 'G' on the fly? Meaning it does not need to close one connection to achieve the other and vice-versa.
as far as i can tell from the script it turns on flight mode, toggles between 3g/Edge, depending on which one you had originally when the script was run (by changing the registry settings), and then turning flight mode off...
your phone will search for signal as it normally would...
the whole process takes about 20-25 seconds.
Give skschema a try. They have a trial, so you can try before you get it if you decide to get it. There is also a Today plugin, although i've never used it, so i can't give any input as to how good it is.
in my experience with the phone, any time you change the band selection the phone goes into flight mode
The program is finished and working
Ok. The program is finished.
1) Put it in rom.
2) Create a shortcut and put it in \windows\startup directory.
3) Then you will see a circle icon at botton.
. White circle means Auto mode.
. Green circle means GPRS mode (2g).
. Red circle means UMTS/HSDPA mode(3g).
Tapping this icon a window is showed and you can click one of the next buttons:
auto: Sets auto mode.
GSM: Sets gsm mode.
UMTS: Sets 3g mode.
Close: closes the program.
Then the registry key \\SOFTWARE\\OEM\\UMTS\\OpMode is changed and the radio is reseted. And thats all.
Enjoy it...

That is not necessarily true. If you go into the Band tab to change the selection, it does not need to go into flight mode. It simply disconnects and reconnects with the new selection.
new option
Hi. I ve added a new option.
To avoid forget to switch back to gprs after use hsdpa, when you tap on UMTS appears a dialog about "limit time" with options:
no: No limit
1, 5, 30, 60, 120: After x minutes the system switch back to gprs.
There was a problem cleaning the notification when the app exits......
New release....
Thnx loads. I'll give it a try.
Thanks
danielherrero,
Great job, it's working on my 8525. It's just what I needed thanks.
You' re wellcome....
Thank you. Going to put it on my 8525 as they roll out 3G here in the US I think this will come in very handy.
Take Care!
Weekend App
Well done!!! Thanks...This app works great.
This is my weekend app. As soon as the weekend starts I put the phone into GSM mode only. Battery life is far better. I don't need UTMS on the weekends....when i do....2 clicks and I'm in UTMS...2 more and I'm back to GSM.
I love this plugin! cant get easier to switch auto -> umts, and umts -> auto! thanks!!

Quicklink to Bluetooth

Hi all,
Can't seem to find a solution to this problem after searching.
Is there any way to directly link to the Bluetooth settings menu (HTC Sense Settings Page > All Settings > Bluetooth) via a Quicklink?
I have the Bluetooth toggle, which is great, but it's simply on & off, rather than device settings (i.e. turning on my bluetooth stereo audio each time I get in the car / turn the key is pretty long-winded using the current method as opposed to a shortcut taking you directly to the Bluetooth device settings).
If you have any ideas, it'd be great to hear them.
Thanks in advance.

search for , "create shortcut control panel item", but in the mean time
Unzip the attached file, copy it to your device memory \windows\Start Menu\programs, you can make another folder there if you want, apps or whatever ...
a Bluetooth settings will then show up so you can create a shortcut ...
see the link in my sig for the how why and what of shortcuts to control panel items.

[Q] Wifi Auto Switch ON

Hello,
I've a problem with my new XperiaS, the wifi connection automatically switch on without reason and I can't find a way to stay off.
What can i do to make sure that does not turn on without my command?
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Hello my friend!
Try to add a widget (under "Tools" if I translate it correctly from my Greek menu) that switches WiFi on/off with a simple touch.
Hold your finger for 2 seconds on your homescreen, and on the menu select "Add Widget". From the list, choose "Tools" (the one whose icon shows a switch), and choose the WiFi switch to be added.
Otherwise, go to Settings->Wireless Connections (second choice), and remove tick from WiFi. Of course, if you need to enable WiFi again, you have to tick first...

Thanks for the answer, but i've already have a widget of this kind but also if I switch off wifi from the widget or from the Settings Menu, it turns ON automatically sometimes without reasons...
?! Most impressive!
Maybe you have installed any battery manipulation program from the market such as Juice Defender or Battery Saver etc.?
This kind of software can do that automatically if not set correctly (according to your needs I mean)...
If thats not what drag mentioned, I advise you reinstall the entire software with Sony update. Ad in repair your phone. Remember to back up everything.
It was fault of GoBattery, now there is still a bug because the phone tries to switch on the wifi (sometimes the wifi icon beacames grey, but not become white, and disappear) without succes.
Thanks for the info!

[PLEASE STICKY] Droid Incredible 4G LTE Tips and Tricks

There are some interesting tips and tricks for this phone, and some observations I've made. This is definitely not a complete list, I just wanted to put some things that keep popping up in various threads into one central place.
TIPS:
Buy a screen protector and case! You will significantly increase the longevity of your phone.
When you're not using it, turn off Wi-Fi, 4G, and GPS. It will improve your battery life significantly.
If using the stock messaging app, you can improve load time and performance by limiting the number of messages saved in Messages -> Settings -> General -> Delete old messages.
Under Settings -> Developer options, there are several options which can improve performance on your phone, such as reducing transition time, enabling GPU rendering, and destroying background activities.
For those of you who came from Sense 1.0, you can now backup and restore your dictionary and messages to the SD card.
Messages: Messages -> 3 Dot -> Back up SMS
Dictionary: Settings -> Language and keyboard -> HTC Sense Input -> Personal dictionary -> Sync personal dictionary
TRICKS:
Disable bloatware while on stock: To disable any apps which you are forced to have on your phone but you don't use, go to Settings -> Apps, and go to each app you don't want, uninstall updates if it has any, then click Disable.
Safe mode: Restart your phone, hold volume down starting from when the screen first goes dark until the OS is loaded. If done successfully, you will see the words 'Safe mode' in the bottom of your screen.
EPST: Dial ##778 on your phone and edit developer options and programming codes. You can seriously screw up your phone if you don't know what you're doing, so proceed with caution.
Change number of home screens: Touch your home button twice. A display of all your home screens at the same time will appear.
To remove screens, long-press any screens you no longer want (you have to leave your primary screen with the small picture of the house on it), and drag it to the top to 'Remove'.
To add more panels when you have less than 7, which is the maximum, touch 'Add Panel' at the top. You can rearrange these to any order you wish.
HBOOT: To access HBOOT, turn off Fast boot in Settings -> Power, hold your power button, hit 'Restart', and when the capacitive buttons at the bottom turn off, hold the Volume Down button until it loads HBOOT.
Quickly change all sounds: You can quickly change all ringtones, notifications, and alarms by going to Settings -> Personalize -> Sound tab at the bottom.
Global phone: To enable Global phone mode, go to Settings -> Call, and change Preferred Network to Global.
OBSERVATIONS:
As with every phone model, every individual unit is not created equal. You will encounter a problem with your phone, most likely one easily rectified once we get root. You might have slow Wi-Fi, an imperfectly-fitting case, or any number of things. If it's a hardware issue, you will likely discover it before your 14 day exchange period is up. Don't be afraid to exchange it! If it's software-related, wait for root and we'll see what can be done.
Some things that were handled by the OS in previous iterations has to be done manually now, such as automatically deleting blank pictures from the Gallery app that were deleted with a file explorer or on the computer. It can be a nuisance, but without root, we can't change anything right now.
Suggestions to this list are welcome. Some things some of us take for granted are great additions to this list for the uninitiated.
Stupid question but how to turn off 4g?

There are multiple ways. I prefer adding the one-click Widget to my farthest right home screen (I reduced mine down to 3 screens, which I'm going to add to the main post how to do), accessed by long-pressing an empty location on a home screen, Widgets tab -> Settings (HTC) -> Mobile Network. You can also access the on/off switch via the pull-down tab (or via the app drawer) -> Settings -> Mobile Network on/off.
If you want to only turn off 4G and leave 3G on, you can download 4G Toggle and change the setting to 'CDMA only'. This still saves battery while allowing you access to the mobile network at slower speeds.
I updated the list again. How did these two posts get to page 4? Ridiculous.

4.1.1 (ATT Note2) Turn Data on/off shortcut posible?

I am new to data plans and Android so please forgive me. I am trying to find away if possible to turn my data on and off without going through settings then data usage.
Id like to add it to the horizontal scrollbar at the top when you are on the "drop down" page where it has wi-fi, bluetooth gps all of these simple tap to turn on and off. My GF's infuse has a cool feature that when you hold down the power button it will give you a few options plane mode turn off computer and a few others one of them is to turn off data. if these are not possible I wouldn't mind a shortcut to ti on the home page. I use this option very frequently since I'm still getting the hang of having a data plan im very afraid of going over.
Try Data Easy Pro. It has a widget that lets you switch data or wifi on or off and can even schedule "on line" time.
Otherwise try Data Widget.
I have the international Note 2 and have the data toggle in the notification menu and on the powder menu. ATT must have had them removed if you don't see them.
