Snap-On Cases for VZW Touch Pro - Touch Pro CDMA

Considering Verizon doesn't sell a decent case for this phone, this is the best alternative as of yet (hard to find ones that fit the VZW model perfect, THESE DO). I have the red one and pretty satisfied with it overall. Have used it for a few weeks now, makes the slide a bit tight but took it off and saw no damage to the phone. See link below for colors and textures.

screen protector?
Does it have screen protectors in there as well or just open spaces for other protectors?
It looks pretty good with a good amount of colors/styles to choose from for a relatively good price.

Are you spamming? You made the exact same post over at PPCgeeks.

i have the skin case, its good. I recommend. Will save on the drops and sliping... Could be better, but with slide design i dont complain. One issue is charging the touch pro with mini-usb plugs...got to take cover off some times.

I went to Seidio to get a snap on case. It fits perfectly and I do not have to remove anything to charge, even with other mini usbs. It is a little expensive, but I bought a cheaper one that put pressure on the touch screen and it screwed up using the various programs. Much happier now

I got two snap on cases, one black one clear (which is just awesome,) a car charger, wall charger, windshield mount, and laminate screen protector for $24 on Ebay shipping included... AND, I got one of the more expensive packages.
$13 for one case is, imo, a rip.

EDIT: I deleted my post..

AT&T Tilt 2 Screen Protector?

I don't see that screen protectors have been discussed recently, so I'm looking for suggestions/experiences for screen only protectors (I'm a flip case kind of gal, so I have no worries about the body).
I'm one of those weirdos who is very careful (and lucky) with cell phones, so I'm looking for something with minimal interference with the screen sensitivity. I'm defecting back after 2 years of using an iPhone without a single scratch on the screen (nor are there any scratches on my 8525 or my Treo or the 8125) in spite of extensive use, and I'm already loving being able to use my fingernails again
I'll greatly appreciate any suggestions/experiences on what's worked well . . . or what hasn't worked. Ease of application is a plus as my 8525 to this day has a tiny bubble I never was able to eliminate . . .
Also, I hope this is an appropriate place to express my gratitude for this forum. When I found it, I was vacillating between the Tilt 2 & the LG eXpo, and comments here nudged me into my decision: I brought my Tilt 2 home yesterday
TIA!
The screen protectors that AT&T sell for the Tilt 2 work really well, are easy to apply, and are a good deal (3 for $10).
I briefly used the AT&T-supplied screen protector. I switched to an eBay full-body protector, but was unhappy with the way it was cut - didn't fit the Tilt2 very well. I replaced that with the BodyGuardz full body protector and it's a much better fit. I recently removed the BodyGuardz screen protector (but still using the body protector) and installed an anti-glare screen protector from Boxwave.
I had no complaints about screen sensitivity with any of them. The original AT&T screen protector and the one from Boxwave feel "slick", are a more rigid plastic and they didn't really adhere to the screen very well around the edges. The ebay one and the BodyGuardz feel a bit "rubbery", adhere better to the screen and any bubbles will work themselves out after a day or so.
I don't really have a preference one over the other - for me it came down to a preference for a less glossy screen.
Hy! You can try and have a look about what other are saying here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605241 or here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=571172 or here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=594029
In short, there are 3 majors options:
Zagg's Invisible Shield - found here http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-tilt-2-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
Bodyguardz - found here http://www.bodyguardz.com/content/accessories/1-12--2393.htm
Gadget Shieldz - found here http://www.gadgetshieldz.com/att-ti...nvisible-shields-screen-protectors-skins.html
The main difference between them is the price, the first 2 cost 25$ each, but Bodyguardz offers 2 kits and both sellers offer lifetime warranty, third is pretty much the same but whitout the fancy package and alot more cheaper.
Try reading all the topic's I gave you and you will find some discount coupons for each seller. The rest is up to you to decide which one suits you better!
Cheers!
Check out WMExperts store
@ sslund,
I can totally appreciate your minor obsession over the "right" screen protector for your device. When I first recieved my TP2, I was using the crappy Rocketfish iPhone screen protectors that I would cut to size. They provided good scratch protection but there was a lot of color separation, meaning they kind of scintillated a red-green pattern over the display which sucked. I then tried the ATT's offering which I didn't like either.
On a whim I bought these from WMExperts Store and have been very happy with them. I cannot post the link as per forum rules, but search their site for "Smartphone Experts Screen Protectors (3-Pack) for AT&T Tilt2"
They do not scratch unlike some of the cheaper Fellows products, nor are they really even noticeable. They are removable, washable, and can be reapplied, which I've successfully done - as long as you're patient in the drying process so as to not get dust stuck to them (air dry), re-application actually works! I did have to cut the sides down a bit as it was just a hair too wide, but that's more of a personal preference. Since they are removable, I've only used one of the three since I got my TP2 in October.
Of course YMMV, but given em a shot and good luck!
I really like my body guardz. thicker and doesnt have a smuge if i touch it like the one that came with the phone.
I would like to install a new shield on my screen but I can't tell if the original is removable and what the recommended method of removal would be if it is.
Clarivue ultra clears are REALLY nice and clear and tough. They come two to a pack. I cought some from a guy on ebay for like $9 shipped. They were real retail clarivues.

If you are referring to the flimsy protective film that ships on the device? It is removable. Otherwise you would need to try and look through the message that is pre-printed on it.
If you mean the protector that is shipped in the box, well that is also removable if you have attached it.
If you mean ANY screen cover, then the answer is still yes. They are all removable.
Use your finger nail, a toothpick, a credit card, or similar device to pry it off of the screen.
Very simple and rudementary.

Galaxy Player Accessories

This is just a placeholder!
Car Charger
Anyone bought a car charger for the SGP5 that charges? I discovered not all micro USB chargers are created equal. I have a .7A wall charger that came with my Galaxy Player, and a .7A wall charger than came with my Optimus-V. Both say 5V with micro USB. The Optimus charger won't switch the Galaxy Player to charging (just keeps discharging). The car charger I have for my Optimus works fine on the phone, but also does not charge the Player.
Does Samsung have an extra wire or two in their chargers? Just want to buy a good car charger for the Samsung (and don't want to have to return it). This is my Optimus charger: http://www.amazon.com/Retractable-C...2C0W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324098638&sr=8-1
I think I might order this for my Player: http://www.amazon.com/Professional-...7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1324098713&sr=1-7
Anyone have one they know works in a car?
These look like nice cases, still just preorder.

I do have one of them (the aqua black color) it's the best case I have owned. It's sillicon but it's not sticky because its a mix of sillicon and TPU.
It looks like their status has gone from preorder to selling. I was going to post the Amazon link but I don't have enough posts to add links. Search Amazon for Rearth Ringke Galaxy Player

Coincidentally I just received the Riot Outfitters case today. It is a MINIMAL case. No protection for the top and bottom corners. About all it does for me is make it a bit easier to hold the device. With your thumbs up of that Rearth case, I'm going to order one of them.

Can you elaborate on "So except the hole in the top"?
What hole does it have or not have?
(thinking about it for my galaxy player 4.0)
Also..
Re: car chargers..
I recently bought a car charger for my original nook,
that plugs into the lighter, and the USB plugs into that.
I tried it on my Galaxy Player, and it works great!
Got it from Barnes n Noble for like $20+ish.
Really want to get a case for this though. lol
I just got the Zagg InvisiShield for the screen, and its awesome stuff.
Perfect fit to.
Now to protect the rest...

Well the korean version of the galaxy players have a DMB antenna (for the TV) so the case needs an hole for the antenna. (you'll dont notice it at all after a few use with it.)

Ahh, Ok, Cool!
Sounds good. Thank you.
Hi,
I originally got the gel case I mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389081
I got one of Riot cases for Christmas, from my family (a little early ), and although I didn't really like it, because of the lack of protection mentioned above, I was obliged to try it.
That lasted for about a day, then I went back to the gel case.
The main reason was that I noticied that when I played some games in landscape, the games were constantly going to "resume". I'm guessing that it was because the Riot case doesn't provide much isolation at the bottom edge when in landscape, and between the metal band around the SGP5, and the narrow bezel area between the edge and the capacitative screen, it was causing this.
So, I switched back to the gel case, and the problem's gone.
I also got a cheap protector when I bough the gel case off of Ebay, and I was obliged to try a Zagg protector (again, for Christmas). That lasted even less time than the Riot case.
I really hated the tackiness of the Zagg protector, especially when doing things on the screen that required smoother movement. With the Zagg protector, my finger kept jumping/skipping, esp. when I played games. I did some googling, and this seems to be a common complaint with the Zagg protectors.
So, I'm back to the cheap Ebay protector also.
Just my observations...
Jim
When I first installed the zagg shield,
I also thought it was more "tacky" than it should be.
Wasn't sure about it for the first couple days.
But now it's been on there for a week or so,
and it's really no different now than when the shield was off.
Not tacky anymore, fingers not jumping or skipping,
and i just glide across it nicely, just as i did the original screen.
So, while the zagg shield was questionable to me for a few days after installing it..
It really does work quite nicely now!
Nice and smooth/slick just like the actual screen.
I bought this car charger, just go it, works well: http://www.amazon.com/Professional-...7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1324098713&sr=1-7
Bought this "case" that fits great and feels good: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180741214943&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123 I bought it in black and you barely see the white around openings (none on front), I also sand-blasted it to remove the glossy it has on one side, still has the nice 2 tone effect but now matte and super-matte.
Bought this "Sleeve" that is very functional (and protective): http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...GEOQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325036022&sr=8-1
Bought this screen protector that goes on easily and looks good, but scratches easily: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270845080394&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123
(would not buy this again)
woohoo
Yes! Got my case today!
Ordered it 3 days ago, and just got it, and it fits perfectly!
Very happy/impressed with it!
Now Im "fully" protected.
Zagg shield on the screen and Ringke/Rearth case over the rest.
Niice!

How does that fit?
there's no holes/ports for the speakers?
or does the 5.0 have only one speaker in the front, on the opposite side?
Looks cool, but doesnt have the proper holes, at least not for my 4.0
edit: nevermind..
I see that the 5.0 does indeed have different placements. mybad
@rasall, how much thicker does it make it? Is it really worth $20 for a silicone case? It does look nice, but my device seams thick enough already without a case. Also ghost armor now has screen protectors for the galaxy players, fyi.

Not much thicker at all.
I just measured it with the case on and it's still only 2.5 inches across from side to side.
It really was worth the $20, for me anyway.
$20 to add some decent protection to a $240 device , I find worth it.
As Im sure you know..
there are not really a whole lot of cases out there yet for these players..
So one that fits perfectly, adds protection, and gives it some extra grip, is worth it to me.
It also makes it feel super nice!
Like it gives it some more 'stability''.... er something. lol
I'm not aware of "ghost armor" ,
But I have a Zagg invisishield on and I love it. Perfect fit, and one of the best quality materials Ive seen.
Plus, it has a lifetime guarentee.
If it gets damaged, they replace it for free.
Ghost-armor is a screen protector similar to zagg but uses static cling rather than adhesive and is therefore reusable if you have to take it off. From what I have seen they are pretty much indestructable (I saw someone demonstrate by grinding his iphone 4s across diamond plated steel - not so much as a hairline scrach!). You can also get nice looking carbon fiber skins. They also have lifetime warranty. They are pretty expensive, though ($25-30), and my $2 xtreme guard from ebay is working great, so I guess I'll wait.

How is the xtreme guard? I have the cheap clear guard LCD screen protectors from eBay, and they scratch and attract fingerprints too easily. I wanted to get the xtreme guard, but I was afraid they would be tacky and sticky to touch because they are the kind that need water to install. So are they tacky like zaggs?

It was a bit of a pain to install correctly, but not to bad if you use soapy water. It was really hard to use the first couple days, but after a while it broke in and is smooth as can be. It is exactly like zagg, so if you don't like zagg it might not be for you, but it isn't sticky at all to me. If you scratch it, it just goes away after some use, pretty nice for how cheap it is. One more thing - the rear protector is absolute junk, if you can get just the front protector without the back, do so.

Case question - advice appreciated!

Although not normally a fan of cases for phones, I've now dropped my Atrix a few times (due to the hopeless shiny back with a total lack of grip) so I've decided I need to get one! Luckily, the Atrix has only been dropped onto carpet so it remains undamaged.
I don't like the silicone cases and I'm not overly keen on the TPU ones either. The 'official' rubberised battery cases looked like the right sort of thing, but after checking the reviews, I'm not keen on the way the side bits on the front can come loose when coming in or out of the pocket.
As I'm looking for something slim/lightweight, I think this leaves me with either the Seidio Surface or the Incipio Feather.
My questions is this: Regardless of the amount these cases protect the phone in case of being dropped, are they actually likely to help me to avoid dropping them? Do these cases improve the 'grippability' of the Atrix?
Any helpful comments are appreciated!
I used the Incipio Feather for a few months. I really liked the "low-profile" but it was very fragile. I ended up cracking two of them just from taking them off to do battery pulls. As far as grip goes, it was generally nice to hold but doesn't offer that much more grip then the phone by itself. I've also used the Ballistic SG and while it was too bulky for me it had excellent grip. I was able to put it on my lap, back facing down, while driving and it never moved.
Currently I use the Speck Candyshell and it holds up pretty well. Grip can become an issue if your palms get sweaty as the exterior is all hard plastic.

I had the feather. After two drops on different corners, the case had cracks. I expected as much and the case did its job. I got the Incipio silicrylic case as a replacement, which has a silicon cover AND a hard cover. It's slightly bulkier than the feather, but it still looks good and is definitely more sturdy. Case is grippy but not overly grippy where you have a tough time putting the phone in your pocket. I can remove the case without fear of cracking it, unlike the feather.
I had one of the Incipio Feather's also. It lasted about 2 months before it completely fell apart. Is is a nice case and I really liked the feel and look of it and it will fit in the car dock with a little modification. But it is not rugged enough for me to recommend. I am using a TPC case now. Does the job. Easy to remove to put in my Car Dock, LapDock or Standard Dock. It feels much better than the Atrix does by itself. But it is kinda ugly. But I have dropped it a few times and it keeps my Atrix safe.
The Seidio Active was my choice and I like it a lot. Two pieces - rubber with hard shell skeleton protects it nicely.
I can remove it (to dock) in seconds and replace it quickly too. Got it at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WKIEF2/ref=oh_o03_s00_i01_details
That's the sapphire blue one, but they have other colors.
I'm using the otterbox commuter case. I got it off of Amazon.com for only 20 bucks on Saturday. So far it's been amazing
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
When talking about cases, would it be possible to mention (as some of the posts do) which docks these work with (I use all the docks...car, HD/standard docks, lapdock). Also a link to some site with the product or a good enough description that I can google it.
I hate to be a pain in asking for the extrra info, but I'm looking for a case now, too and don't want to have to remove it all the time (especially for the car dock).
Of all the experiences I have read about cases and their compatibility with docks, the only one that I have heard that works is the Incipio Feather (or somehting similar) when taking in the consideration of actually not removing the case.

Yes, I have read that people just simply remove the insert that is in the docks and it fits just fine. I have seen pics before too but can't remember where I saw them. Maybe I can try to find them.

Here is a thread about a mesh cover (which is essentially the Feather but with a mesh look) and the second link is a post of someone in that thread showing the Atrix in the car dock with the case on.
Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194096
Post with pics:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16704009&postcount=27
Here is another thread discussing (and maybe confirming) the Feather working with docks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982574
The Incipio feather will fit in the car dock with the cardock insert removed, but the latch wont close. It has a ridge that comes over the face of the phone, but sits on top of the feather case. It will work if you make sure you have it inserted firmly all of the way in. I take corners pretty fast and had it fall out a couple of times. I modified mine to make the latch close pretty easily. Put it in the cardock and marked the outline with a X-acto knife. Used diagonal cutters to cut the 2 short vertical cuts. Scored the Horizontal mark with the X-acto knife and snapped the piece off with some lineman pliers. Now that these are $10 apiece I am tempted to get another one (or 2). Just was not worth the 25 bucks I paid 6 months ago.
Thanks for the various comments about cases.
I've looked at the various recommended cases and think I'll probably have to give the Incipio Feather a miss if it is as fragile as others have mentioned. I'm based in the UK so I'd have to order the case from the US (can't locate a UK seller) and this would cost me the equivalent of around US $ 45.00 which is a bit too much for something which won't last long!
Various other hard cases aren't available in the UK either (or not at decent prices) and, for me, the most important thing is to have a case lacking in bulk.
The Otterbox Commuter is the only one I get can get reasonably cheaply from within the UK (about US $ 20) but I'm not taken by the look of this.
Therefore, I think I've settled on the Seidio Surface which looks to have good reviews and will hopefully be the sort of slimline case I can deal with. I can obtain this via Amazon UK from a US seller for a mere US 36.00!
Incidentally, in the monster "Ruggedized battery cover" thread, there was mention that the Seidio Surface fits the lapdock and can be easily removed for the car dock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16600986&postcount=379
I don't own either dock so this isn't really of relevance to me!
I started looking for a discrete case for the same reason (battery door is way too slippery.)
There were some Chinese-made rubberized battery door replacements that seemed popular a while back. Most of the mobile accessory sites that carried them sold out, though I found and ordered one on eBay. The seller seems to have more:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Back-Cover-...ltDomain_0&hash=item415bd6c69c#ht_2880wt_1085
I just got my yesterday. Fitment is surprisingly accurate, no misaligned cutouts or anything, and the added bulk is acceptable. Feels much better in hand now, too, when typing in landscape mode. It takes a deliberate effort to free the phone from the case, as it has a couple of tabs that clip into the retaining slots used by the factory battery door. Haven't noticed it snagging or coming loose as it goes in and out of my pocket either.
edit:
I just noticed the "dock fitment" discussion going on in this thread. I can't say anything about this case + docks since I don't own any docks.
I fashioned a case out of 3M carbon vinyl wrap. Keeps that Carbon Fibre effect on the back case whilst making it much more grippy (never dropped it since) and much more aesthetically pleasing as it gives off a 3D carbon fibre effect.
I can post pics if you like
Also worth mentioning you can pick this stuff up dead cheap off eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30x20cm-G...arParts_SM&hash=item4cf189dd66#ht_1792wt_1163
This sheet will give you a few attempts at it. It took me 2 to get mine the way I liked it
If you are just looking for grip without affecting aesthetics the Zagg Total protection is a great option. Clear is nearly impossible to tell it is on there. It is the same material and install as the screen protector. So no residue when removed. Make sure you read/watch the install tips from Zagg. I have been using it since April without a drop.
I have; however, decided to get a case and am trying the Seidio Active. The wife got the Incipio Silicrylic. both indeed fit in the HD/Standard Dock with the insert removed, I'm curious about whether there is enough support from the back of the dock though. As mentioned, I'm guessing the car dock will not close due to the extra couple millimeters, but will try it out and reply if it does indeed work.
Well, the Seidio Surface winged its way across the Atlantic reasonably quickly and I received it earlier this week.
It is very slightly bulkier than I expected but it is still very slimline so this isn't a problem as it still fits in my pocket easily. A little more difficult to take the phone out of my pocket than previously but again, not really a problem.
The surface of case itself isn't as 'grippy' as I expected, either, but it is a great improvement to the usual slick battery cover and I haven't juggled with it yet this week! I can now operate the phone using one hand if necessary without fear that I will lose my grip and drop it.
There are a few small imperfections on the back of the case - it would seem as though there were a few specks of dust or some other substance on the case before it was covered with the rubberised coating as a few tiny bumps can be felt. Not enough of a problem for me to bother returning it all the way to the US, however!
It is slightly tricky to take the Seidio Surface off the phone - it seems to come off easily sometimes but remain stubbornly in place at others. I think I'll need to practice taking it on and off the phone a bit more until I get the knack.
Overall, I'm reasonably impressed with the case and would give it an 8/10. It would have received a higher score had it not been so ridiculously expensive for me to buy here in the UK - Amazon.com are selling it at approximately half the price I paid!

[Q] Screen protector and case recommendations?

I just purchased the LTE version off eBay and I'll be needing a case and screen protector for it.
For the screen protector, I just want the plain 99-cents-for-3-pack type ones - no fancy wet application ones, or ones that give it a rubbery feeling, or that will peel and wear due to how thick they are, etc. And for some reason, I'm having trouble finding them - which is funny because its usually the oppsoite.
For the case, I'd like something that's still compatible with the official charge dock. From what I understand there's an adapter included to make it work with cases, but I still don't want anything bulky - I don't drop my phones, I just need protection from everyday wear. A plain slim snap on case would do - big plus if its legit bamboo/wood on the back (not cheap plastic or skin); nothing that covers the buttons, though, as I like their tactile feel.
Suggestions?

Ehm... pretentious much?
JK man, I guess you'll have to wait a bit more for more options to come when the handset is available worldwide.
In the meantime, you could check cases from PDAir, they seem like real premium ones, leather too.
Anyway, you can find simple screen protectors off eBay for 2/3 bucks for 3, but I went premium even there and bought the Gearmaxxx one off eBay, like 20 bucks for front+back.

To be fair, I think the guy I bought it from is a fraud and doesn't actually have them. Haven't received any communication from him since the 5th, even though I left a note upon purchase. Thank goodness I used Bill Me Later, I'm not actually out of that huge amount of money until I can cancel the transaction (if it comes to that).
And yeah I went ahead and got these two sets of screen protectors, plus this clear case for now:

Figure I'll give it a shot using the matte screen protector and see how I like it, and go clear if I can't take the loss in quality. And I'm considering the Incipio Watson since I do like their folio cases, but I'm not sure how I feel about having it on a phone (only had it on a tablet) and with no kickstand support.
Can I get some feedback please?
It stands between these two screen protectors

I'm looking for that glass feeling on the film when I'm using the phone. I had a screen protector like this on my SGS2 but I can't remember the name of the product. I don't want this rubbery feeling or the feeling that there actually is a screen protector there.
Edit: I ordered the *Benks Magic HR

Edit again: I missread the title as I was looking for the Magic HSR not the HR

hoping to get a refund and cancel my order

Rugged/tough protection case

Has anyone tried any of the cheap tough/tank/rugged cases of ebay or from any of the chinese sites like the ones below? I know they're basically knock offs of more expensive cases, but wanted to see if anyone is using them and if they're decent enough quality. I have a thin clear gel case at the moment which is fine for me as I am generally careful with my devices but fancied the option of having something with more sturdy protection.

Ended up ordering one of these, great fit and quality, feels solid and quick and easy to put on/take off. Delivered really quickly and came with one of those small stylus that clip into the headphone jack and a film screen protector(I didn't fit it), which unfortunately like a lot of them doesn't fit the full screen.

I had two of those cases for my Nexus 5. Came with the same stylus and everything. One of them had the flip cover, but it ended up breaking off.
It's a pretty good case. I generally just use my nexus 5 around the house these days, using those cases, my phone has no visible damage. Though, bear in mind that the Nexus 5 had a lot less glass built into it.

Yea I had the same type for my Galaxy S4, always wanted the one with the flip/door ('Armour view' I think it was called) cover on it but never got it. I had read about the door hinge being a bit fragile and prone to breaking also.
This one for the S7 is great though, really nice sturdy fit and cheap as well. Its not quite as rugged as the ones in the links I look at but its handy as the case can be taken off and put back on quickly if needed, whereas the other ones are really intended to be put on and left on.
you can check my reviews , for now , i love my ottrbox and a cheaper product from amazon

I've got the Artech Little Rock. It's cheap ($29, and a 20% off coupon put it at about $24) and it's as rugged a case as I've ever had. The bezel is a bit hard to snap in, but that only makes it secure the phone that much more
