After a recent scare when I dropped my phone I thought that was it - this time it really is
While flashing a different radio the flash started failing. Mtty revealed bad blocks and now I have a Nike sized brick on my hands that won't even power on, let alone boot.
It's been fun and I really appreciate everyone's help while rerom has been developing over the past couple of months.
I urge you to give NemanjaLO and d_train as much support as you can so that they can build the best ROMs possible for the Nike.
I've got to try to find my old Hermes now...
Au revoir,
Colin.
rerom build 23001
UPDATE:
I've upped a 16key 2G revision 2 which includes SmartLock in case anyone is interested.
I've replaced Backlight in Settings as it wasn't the WM6.5 version anyway.
Check the 23001 folder linked below.
P.S. just in case you hadn't noticed I reverted to netCF 3.5 with 21820 and 23001 as 3.7 doesn't include everything required.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build 23001 is faster than 21820 and this new rom includes a few tweaks and I finally added Long Press End Key (don't know why I left it out).
All flavours are now available in the 23001 folder at 4shared.
rerom build 23001 - all varieties
Enjoy
rerom build 21820
Build 21820 now available including a few changes and fixes:
- Acrobat Reader now works (thanks to NemanjaLo for the info)
- A Java environment is now in there (JBed)
- All the stock themes are back
- The latest exe for Notepad is included
All flavours (16 & 20 key, 2G and 3G dialers) can be found in the 21820 folder at my 4shared account here:
rerom build 21820 - all varieties
rerom build 21815 - test build
Here's a test build of 21815 - just for 16key with 2G dialer for now.
Because of the issue with themes I've stripped out all the other themes except Classic Blue until it's completely sorted.
I've also added Shamasis' Notepad Mobile to the Office folder in the Start Menu - much lighter when you just want to do a quick text file (although I need to update the version of the exe to the latest)
re-rom 21815, 16 key & 2G Dialer
rerom includes:
NetCF 3.5
Mortscript cooked in
Nitrogen Media Player
Clauncher Titanium plugin (With device Lock pre-populated for easy access)
A mortscript to choose the exe launched when swiping up from the bottom of the screen
I have removed the music tab from Titanium in this build as the functionality is quite limited and, with the other tabs added, I wanted to reduce a bit of clutter.
The script I have added is placed in the StartUp folder so that you can configure your choice of app after configuring the phone. Just select an application to launch by an upward swipe. It pulls the current path from the registry (just for info) and will be removed from StartUp after you make a selection. You can change this at any time by running \Windows\swipe.mscr.
Note: cancelling the file selection with leave the script in the Startup folder to run on the next reset.
Colin.
Great listing.
Thanks
I've got just about everything sorted but I've managed to introduce a problem with messaging loading after boot and then hanging.
Got to try to pin this down.
I'd like to say thanks to the following:
jerpelea
nemanjaLO
rling

Small issues:
- missing IE shortcut;
- missing MSN Money widget (I already get used with it from other WM6.5 ROMs );
- in PhonePad when scrolling down the call history after couple of contacts the rest of them are with black contrast;
- in Weather widget I cannot set an European city (Bucharest for my case) if I don't know the location code (only by name like it works for HTC weather applet), I assume the zip code works only for US.
Other than that your "baby" works great (however I used it only for 2 h so I keep testing it), thanks a lot!

- missing IE shortcut is intentional as you just hit the favourites item on Today
- PhonePad - thanks hadn't noticed that, I'll look into it
- as mentioned in the first post - MSN widgets are removed from this rom (I may include them when I do a new version with an updated build)
- for weather you need to visit the accuweather website and do an international lookup - Bucharest is EUR|RO|RO010|BUCHAREST. Add that as the location code
Thanks for testing.
You are right, I missed the Favorites shortcut (used for IE launching) from the home screen because I deleted it as I want to keep this sceen as empty as possible. I think the MSN widget is more powerfull (includes a sattelite map) than the one included in the Titanium interface. Meanwhile I figured how to get the city code (I remember I read something in another thread and I search for it). Thanks again for your work and I'm looking for your next release!
The MSN widgets were originally broken in build 21202 (this can be fixed with updates SYS files) so I will probably include them in an updated build.
As the Titanium Weather is installed during config it can be uninstalled or you will be able to have both (one for quick reference and the other for detail)
I think the phonepad issues is a problem with the skin. I will test with a different dialer package and let you know.
Is this ROM working in French, and for Niki 100?
This is just WWE I'm afraid.
It is an English ROM, so if you need one in French you should look for a specific designed in French one (look in the thread title, it is mentioned there). It is working on Nikki100, I have one running this ROM without any problem.
RE-ROM v1.1 posted - check OP.
Well done. Nicely.
Downloading to test.
Thanks for the update

Great ROM! Works perfect so far, keep you updated with testing progress!
Thanks Mishu.
It's a shame none of the HTC dialers work with WM6.5 but the stock one does the trick.
V2.0 with build 21501 now available. Check OP.
Hi, bad news (at least for me) with your latest ROM . First, after running the first time after flashing (when the Customizing process was ended) the phone shut down instead of restart. I flashed twice this ROM and the same behaviour. What was worst the phone somehow stopped responding after configured it (in the way I do this with all the ROMs). I reset it twice but no luck. The USB connection wasn't working at all, luckily after I put it manually in the three-color screen I was able to flash back the 1.15 ROM which works ok. I don't know what is wrong with this build, however it seems I am the only one with this problems. Thanks again for your work!
Strange.
I've flashed it a few times and not had any problems. I'll have a look and try a rebuild.
Thanks for letting me know.
My wife recently got a Sprint Touch Pro, and considering the flashing junkie that I am (and how much I hate stock roms), the first thing I did was to jump in here to see what could be done about it. Much to my surprise, it seems that XDA-Devs has very little information regarding the HTC Herman variants (Sprint, Verizon, Alltel, etc.) since most of the development for the Raphael is being done for the GSM version only. There are a few scattered threads about this but I figured that a sticky (and a Wiki update) will not hurt the site and as an added bonus, it will help the noobs (and some Seniors too ).
I found most of this information in ppcgeeks.com, so feel free to lurk around that forum as well since it is packed with useful information.
Instructions are the same as with the GSM models, only inverted. In other words, IF YOU FLASH THIS ON A NON-CDMA PHONE, YOU WILL BRICK IT. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
I am not responsible if you brick, damage, or affect the functionality of your phone in any way, shape, or form. Do this under your own discretion...
And as usual, when in doubt...READ!!!!
Edit: You will need a software to unzip the files (Winzip, Winrar, 7-zip, etc). It has been reported that the Vista file decompressor (or something like that) will associate this package with Adobe reader, making it difficult to open it...
Edit 2: If you are flashing for MetroPCS, please follow this amazing guide that dreynam2 has put together!!!
Here goes:
Step 1: HardSPL Unlocking!
Again, all this information can be found in www.ppcgeeks.com (original thread here). I just wanted to make it available to people at this site. Thanks to cmonex and the full CDMA Raphael Elite Team!
UPDATE: VZW SPL posted. (there will be an all-in-one unlocker later, but until then please read the instructions and decide which file is for your device.)
CDMA Raphael Elite Team (see: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41345) presents exclusive Touch Pro CDMA Hard-SPL to you!
SSPL, HSPL, relocker made by cmonex, Wrappers by olinex, SD flasher and relocker (coming soon) by no2chem. thanks to NexVision (btw I'm really sorry), zule/Shadowmite and no2chem for testing!!!
there are three HSPL's now (for the non-verizon ones it is a similar scene to Diamond_C).
1. 0.25.MFG for Sprint/Alltel/Telus/Bell, for hackers only, because otherwise, it is too old, apparently has splashscreen issues and only 128MB ram. but it has mw, it has rtask, etc. etc.
2. 0.37 for Sprint/Alltel/Telus/Bell, for other people, this has no screen issues but no MFG commands.
3. 0.35 for Verizon touch pro's ONLY.
Important:
first, if you have GSM Touch Pro/Raphael (NOT CDMA, NOT SPRINT/VERIZON/ALLTEL/TELUS/BELL), this will brick your device.
to download a compatible hardspl package for gsm touch pro you can go to forum.xda-developers.com.
but if you have CDMA Touch Pro/Raphael, then you have to use this hardspl, not the one at xda-developers!!!
preparations before flash:
1) make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
2) if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-center.mspx
3) now decide which Hard-SPL you want to flash. if you have Verizon, flash VZW package (from verizon attachment). if you have Sprint, Telus or Alltel or Bell, flash default package (Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip).
instructions:
1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty folder.
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run HardSPL exe that you downloaded before.
4) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) it should go to tricolour screen now and say 0.25.C-SSPL or for Verizon devices it should say 0.35-C-SSPL.
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.35.CMONEX or 0.37.CMONEX (or 0.25.CMONEX MFG).
NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from the SSPLManual.zip attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is in SSPL, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.
make sure to get SSPL-Manual specifically for Verizon phones from the verizon package.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, a stock SPL downgrade package is also available here.
NOTE 4: do not use this RUU to flash anything else! this is only intended for flashing the Hard-SPL.
NOTE 5: use Relocker *only* if you need to return the phone for warranty. only use it as last step - after reflashing stock OS and radio. Default relocker is for Sprint etc, Raphael_CDMA_VZW_Relocker in the verizon package is for Verizon touch pro's.
EDIT: I tried on multiple occasions to upload the Verizon unlocker to this thread, but the system keeps on refusing it again and again (main reason why I had a link to the original site). Go to the PPCGeeks site and get the unlocker from there (alternatively, this was provide by psouza. Thanks!)
Step 2: Choosing the ROM that Fits Your Style
Congratulations! If you are reading Step 2, that means that you successfully unlocked your phone (or are about to make a no-no). Make sure that your phone is HardSPL unlocked or else you will not be able to flash.
Taste is a matter of personal choice. As I stated in my previous post, most of the development for this phone is being done at PPCGeeks, and since posting every Rom thread in here would be time consuming (and possibly useless), I am giving you this link to all the custom ROMS.
Which one is best you ask? Again, a matter of personal choice. Some roms are feature packed, whereas others are light and fast. Really up to you...
Link to Roms
Step 3: Flashing Your New ROM!
Well, Step 3, that means that you chose a ROM and are ready to get down and dirty with your device (and about to kiss that ugly stock rom good bye). As with the flashing of any device, make sure that:
a. Your device has battery of 50% or more, else you might end up with a half flashed brick.
b. You have ActiveSync/Device Central in your PC.
c. That you read the steps below over and over and over again until you can repeat them in your sleep.
Make sure to follow every single step down to the T. I cannot stress this enough.
How to Flash Via PC:
1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there
If that fails please trying these directions (thanks sn0b0ard)
1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!
Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):
1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
Step 4: Tweaks, Tweaks, and Tweaks!! (Part 1)
Step 4!!! Wow, you must feel in cloud 9 right now! You successfully got rid of that stock rom (without making a $700 paperweight) and are ready to tweak your device to your own liking! Here are some tips and tweaks that I found over at PPCGeek (Original thread) Thanks Baffles!!
Note:Go to the original thread for all the cabs.
Tweaks and Fixes:
Basic:
If your device is showing you random issues, such as speaker/ear piece being crappy out of the box, do a hard reset. Some have reported this simple task has solved their problems. You can do this one of two ways: either select clear storage from the system tab in settings (Start->Settings), or power off the device, hold volume down and OK, and hit the power button.
If your data isn't working, try this.
Disable SMS Sent Notification: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs] Set SMSNoSentMsg to 1
Install the Picture Mail enhancement from Sprint - run PIE, and click "Click here to check for new updates." (if you changed your homepage, go to Sprint PowerDeck from favorites) Then download and install the cab file listed. This will have to be done after every hard reset. Still seems picmail doesn't like to work right, though.
Phone:
Install new Audiopara for louder volume
Enable/Disable mute call when phone is flipped over - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE] Set FaceDownMuteRing=1 to enable, or =0 to disable. Source
You can make your phone stop making noise when you enable/disable the radio. Edit [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\FlightModeOnOff] and change Sound_on and Sound_off to desired sound, or blank for no sound. source.
Issues with answering your phone when a data connection is open (answer buttons don't do anything)? Looks like a tweak messes up a registry key that affects this. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings], make sure SuspendResume is set to #777 (not anything containing GPRS). This issue seems to be related to Advanced Config. source
Added 1/7/09:
Enable wake up on SMS - you can do this via DiamondTweak (possibly advanced config too), or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL] DisableSMSWakeUpEvent=0 (to enable waking up). source
Set up Visual Voicemail on Sprint. More info here. THIS IS VERY YMMV.
Internet:
This hack no longer needed on the latest version of WMWifiRouter - Disable temperature sensing in WMWifiRouter to get it to allow you to connect. Options->Configuration->Battery->Next->Next->Next->Select "Disable temperature detection"->Next. There is a bug, at least in my version, that shows "Enable temperature detection twice" however selecting the second one disables it.
Hack Internet Sharing to work: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Delete Extension key, set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal). [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] Set ForceCellConnection="Sprint" -- Cabified Version Here
Change "Reply All" in poutlook back to "Reply" - [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Servic es\OutlookEnhancement], set module to an empty string. TO revert, set module to "\\windows\\OutlookEnhancement.dll"

PST Tweaks:
First thing you must do is get your MSL. I wrote an app to make this very easy for you, more info on it here. If you have problems getting your MSL, put your phone in flight mode and try again.
You can tweak your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) to make your phone poll the tower more often. This makes your texts and phone calls come through quicker. This setting is a trade off between lag (most noticeable when receiving calls) and battery life. The default value on our phones is 2. Every step of 1 adds 1.28 seconds to the poll time, so at a value of 2 it is only polling every 5 seconds or so. Most people lower this to 1, so the phone polls every 2.5 seconds. This won't affect battery life much in areas of good coverage, but may impact it noticeably if you're in a poor reception area. Your Access Overload Class (ACCOLC) determines your phone's priority on the cell tower. The higher the number, the lower the priority. Do note that 0 and 1 are reserved for emergency service uses, so DO NOT use these. You can ACCOLC's of 2-9, default on Sprint should be the last digit of your phone number.
Now that I've laid down the basic groundwork of the two main mods, here's how to change them. Don't mess with settings in here unless you know exactly what you're doing, as phone performance and usability will be affected. To enter programming mode, open your phone screen and dial ##778# (may be ##778 on some devices, if that doesn't work, run EPST.exe from \Windows). Click edit, type in your MSL, and hit OK. Now choose View Info in the lower left corner, and hit NAM settings. On this page you can change your ACCOLC (remember, don't use 0 or 1). Now, switch to the Modem Settings page to change your SCI (default is 2, valid values are 0-7). Now accept the changes and soft reset, and you're updated!

If you have to Relock the phone for warranty purposes, just use the relocker in the first post. Now, there is a trick to use this thing. If you want to relock and just run the exe with the phone connected, you will get an error.
Flash back to original Shipped Rom and Radio BEFORE Relocking!!!!!
*First, put the device in bootloader mode (Hold Vol Down +Power +Reset until you see the bootloader screen (multicolored). It will say Security Unlocked and a bunch of other numbers including (and this is key) 0.37 Olinex (or Monx, I can't remember right now)
*Now, run the exe in your computer. This process takes about 1-2 minutes at the most. The phone will reset after its done.
*To check if it worked, wait until it finishes rebooting and go to bootloader once more. If done correctly, it will still say "Security Unlocked" but it will say 0.37.0000 instead of what I wrote earlier in this post. You should be goof to go from this point on.

Even though I have a GSM Fuze, please let me know if I can help you with this in any way. It has been discouraging to see how the new people who have mistakenly flashed the wrong ROM to their phones have been treated and I know alot about phones GSM and CDMA and am also a member of PPC Geeks and have been for some time (not much posting mostly reading) my name there is dashmaster1000. So if you would like some help or just want me to gather and compile information I am more than willing to help you! Again thank you!

Thanks man! I have seen how you've helped people out (especially in the NRGZ roms since I am around there for the most part). I have asked NATF to cross post this sticky in the Raphael Rom Development as well, to prevent "accidents" from happening. In either case, if you do find some useful stuff that is not here, feel free to either pm me (I will update the posts) or simply add it to the thread yourself, whatever you prefer.
Once again, thanks for the praise

Is there any particular reason why you cannot flash via USB? I am only asking simply because it is a far easier process.
Just follow the instructions of Step 3 and you should be ok. One thing to mention, do not let go of the VolDown and Power Button when you see the bootloader. You have to hold them down since it will go to a white screen with a set of instructions in blue right after that. It is the same process as with a Hard Reset. Make sure that you did the HardSPL prior to flashing a rom. Good luck!
Thanks!

Flashing Question
This may seem like a strange question but here goes...
I am considering flashing my Touch Pro and wonder if any one has tried doing it in Win XP Pro running under Parallels on a Mac? ActiveSync works fine so I know the communication between the two is fine. I really don't want to drag my old Win 2K machine out and upgrade the RAM and OS just to start playing around with different ROMs... but I don't want a $600 brick either.
Thanks to all in advance!

It has been tested, and it works great.
On a side note, once you get HardSPL on the phone, I suggest flashing from your SD card directly. Not only does it eliminate the need for ActiveSync, but it is also 2-3 time faster.
total noob
HI every1.. total noob here..I am considering flashing my USCellular TP...
I understand USCC is CDMA? Does it matter which rom i use? Does the rom have to specify USCellular er what ..
im clueless thanks in advance
It should not matter as long as it is a CDMA rom. What makes it carrier specific are certain apps that come with the original. However, you may want to check with the cook, just to be on the safe side. Good luck!
Good ROM for Verizon TP
I have a Verizon Touch Pro and am thinking about flashing. I am curious what is a good rom that is out there. I love the TF3D so I want it included with the ROM. Aside from that I don't really have any preferences (Super fast would be a plus). Thanks for any advice.

Go to the link that I provided in Step 3 of my guide. Most of the available roms are in there. As far as which one is good, it really is a matter of personal taste. Mighty 4 (WM 6.1) is said to be one of the best and most stable ones out there. I used Fallen 2.1 and that was a pretty good rom. Very fast and relatively clean but with the app that you will want to have at one point or another. Good luck!
There are more and more themes coming up for WM 6.5 Titanium, which are not only tsk, colors etc, but also change greatly the Titanium....x......cpr file and the registries. When one wants to change from one such theme (for example WM7 project) to another (for example Shadow Neo Skin) the former theme has to be removed, and the new one has to be installed and customized, sometimes the plugins have to be reinstalled.
The theme switcher has the following capabilities:
- Backing up the existing theme, grafics files, cpr files, registries, so that it can easily be restored
- Installing the new selected theme
New beta release:
Supported resolutions QVGA, WQVGA, QVGAsquare, VGA, WVGA, VGAsquare... It only works with WM 6.5. You need to have MortScript installed.
IMPORTANT: First of all this will be replacing your Titanium cprs and bronzeres.dll files, so pls. make a backup of your original files.
Installation:
1. Unzip the enclosed file TitaniumThemes to Storage Card.
2. Have all the plugins installed that you want to have in your Titanium screen, so that
the themes can load them.
3. It is not necessary to install all themes, as i have collected all images needed by the
theme and stored them in folders inside the TitaniumThemes folder, so the images will not
clutter your Windows folder. The modded cprs point to this images. Below you find the
links to the corresponding themes threads, so that you can check out how the theme
looks, and say thanks to the theme designer for his nice work.
4. Run the "Install Titanium Theme Changer.mscr" from the apps folder in TitaniumThemes,
choose your resolution and click ok, this will install all supported themes cprs in Windows
and a shortcut for "Titanium Theme Changer. mscr" in Windows/Start Menu/Programs.
5. Run the shortcut "Titanium Theme Changer", select the theme you want to apply and in
a few seconds it will appear on your screen.
6. Apply the tsk of your choice
As said it is a beta version and it might have still some bugs, or errors in the cprs, as i only have a QVGA device, pls. report them.
I could have not done this without the help of many people, like BigDaddyG, RoryB and egoist6 from the MortScript thread, TWolf, drkfngthdraglrd and many more, so thanks to all.
Also please consider that i in no way designed the themes, i only modified the cprs for easy switching, so all thanks go to the themes builders.
Most of the plugins are supported in my cprs, like
All standard plugins
TWolf Multiplugin

I am working on such a theme switcher, done in MortScript. I have a folder named TitaniumThemes on my Storage Card. Inside there i have a folder backup where i save the current theme (Titanium_XXXxXXX.cpr (both P and L), bronzeres.dll and CHome registry). I have also a folder for each of the themes, currently WM7, TitaniumBuffed, TitaniumShadowNeo, Bliss, BlackDragon, where i stored the same files for the theme tweaked and set up to my liking. All themes have first to be installed, as some of them store in Windows some files like icons etc, or they create a folder under Program Files with those files. I tried first manually to swap this files and it work very nicely. Now i am trying to make Scripts to do this work, but i am a complete noob in scripting and have following problems:
1. I need to disable Windows Default to be able to copy bronzeres.dll to Windows, and i dont know the command for it.
2. I need to read and save the whole CHome registry (export) and also to import the themes CHome registry. This should be doable with MortScript but i found only how to import/export single keys and dwords in the manual.
3. At the end i have to enable again Windows Default.
When i could solve this points i would have a simple script based program to backup/restore the current theme, and to switch themes choosing from a menu.
you should be able to replace bronzeres.dll without the need to disable titanium. In order to refresh titanium after changing the theme you can use chomerefresh.exe provided by appstar. PM me If I can be of any help

In fact that was my first approach, to copy the files to windows and then refresh chome, but it is not working. Even when copying manually the files with total commander, i can do that for both titanium cpr files, but as soon as bronzeres is copied an error message comes up. So it looks like bronzeres needs titanium to be disabled before copying, when i disable titanium manually the script copies everything correctly to windows. So i have to find the command to disable/enable titanium.
On the other hand i have still problems to find the way to backup/restore the complete chome registry. I tried also to look inside the Sashimi script to find out how it is done there, but i am too much of a noob and could not figure it out (too many subroutines pointing from one to the other).
I had thought about doing this before but with a more ambitous approach that would have required theme makers to include an .xml file together with their theme. this .xml would include a list of all of the theme files and their destination directory, since not all themes are the same, some people replace bronzeres.dll and some others don't, so it's hard to tell unless you have a list of what to apply and what to remove.
Disabling titanium, as far as my research has gone, it's not possible with mortscript alone. These are lower-level system functions that can be found on C++, just like chomerefresh.exe which is also built on C++. Getting more complex as we dig deeper into it.
but, I still have faith in being able to replace the .dll without disabling windows default first, have you tried using mortscript's file attribute change to change the .dll's attribute from read-only to normal file before copying. I still do believe we'll need to standardize themes.

It is possible to disable and enable titanium with mortscript, it is just a registry HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Today/Items/Windows Default, set Enabled to 0, then RedrawToday. The same to enable it, only set to 1.
I posted my scripts like they are now in the post below, asking for help to make them work, in the Mortscript examples thread. It still does not work to
replace bronzeres.dll, but i will look into your suggestion to change the attributes to normal before copying. The strange thing is that when i do everything manually with total commander with the titanium disabled it works flawlessly. On the other hand you are completely right, the themes are not standardized, but normally, with all the themes installed before, so that all the needed files are there, and then by replacing the above mentioned files it works. Thanks a lot for your help.

Hey claus - I only want to say how much I appreciate your work! It's really hard - especially to save everything, that nothing will be destroyed.
For bronzeres.dll - you must find a way to unload this .dll for changing - I'm not sure, if Mortscript can do it. If you need help - please tell me.
But perhaps you need no unload...this little needful thing could help, which I append
I use them very often by shortcut in StartMenu - especially "disable all" to switch off all todays and "EnableTitanium" - because I'm to lazy to go to my Home-Settings... (please comment iPhoneToday-Lines, if you don't have it - or make a check to Registry-Key, if it's exists)
Some questions:
- When can we expect a VGA-Version?
- Do you have a more technical implemention description how it works?
- What's the problem with cabbing? Perhaps I can help you
Thanx 4 all

Hi Micha
Thanks for your offer. In fact it took me some time to sort this out. Now it is working as i apply bronzeres.dll with a cab, so i don't need to disable Titanium. At the end i refresh Titanium so everything gets updated. The idea is later to avoid swapping out bronzeres.dll, when all theme builders make their themes without changing bronzeres.
A VGA version should not be difficult the only problem i have is that i only have a QVGA device. The cprs i have included are the themes cprs for QVGA, complemented with most of the plugins and some modded by me to get support for the plugins. I am still working on some icons and layouts. If someone with a VGA device has cprs for this themes filled with all the most used plugins i would be very grateful to receive them so i could put together a set for VGA. The same also for other resolutions. This shall be a theme switcher, so i am not interested for skins which can be changed by applying the corresponding tsk.
The way the theme switcher works is very very simple, and it works with Mortscript:
The themes must be installed first, all of them. Then we copy into windows the cprs for all this themes, Titanium_240x320.cpr and 320x240.cpr, Neo_240x320.cpr and 320x240.cpr, Lizzy_240x320 and 320x240.cpr etc etc.
By calling the themes menu mscr the menu pops up with all available options:
Save the current theme: This backs up the currenty active Titanium cprs and bronzeres.dll, so that one can revert back to what he had.
The next buttons are for applying any of the themes. This is done by inserting in the ExtensibilityXML registry the name of the cpr to be used, without touching the rest of the information in this registry, that means your personal plugin setup (active plugins and their order) stays the same. Then the corresponding bronzeres.dll is loaded by cab and when available the themes tsk is applied. At the end Titanium is refreshed and the theme has been changed.
As said this is still a bit rudimentary and i will with the time make it smoother and apply some cosmetics to make it look better.
The problem with the cab is that i have only built very simple ones like for loading bronzeres.dll into windows. For this i would need a cab which:
1. installs all the themes,
2. copies the TitaniumThemes folder into storage card,
3. copies all cprs into windows and the shortcut into start menu/programs
I almost thought, that you're doing i like that... it's not rudimentary - it's a very good way Perhaps a little bit to complicated for some things (why not using ExtensibilityXML to approve only Plugins, which works with the skin). Thanx for explanation.
But one thing... I don't know if you assume this will be in future, that's noboy would change the bronzeres.dll - I think not all developers will know this way - and there will be much more edits in future of other Titanium-Files perhaps - I would save it and have a look, that it would work with and without Bronzeres. Save the differences of each installation to the original theme - and you mustn't care for such things (I know - that's very rudimentary - but how do you say in english: If the mountain won't come to Mohammed, Mohammed must go to the mountain )
I will have a look for my VGA-cpr - at the moment I haven't very much installed.
To your problems:
The problem with the cab is that i have only built very simple ones like for loading bronzeres.dll into windows. For this i would need a cab which:
1. installs all the themes,
What's the problem there? The themes are all installed by cab - so alltogether should also be installed like cab - Perhaps - I don't now - you must only cascade the .cabs in Installation - with between "saving" - that could work
2. copies the TitaniumThemes folder into storage card,
*g* For this case you asked in the other thread. In this case... make an installer after installation (I think you have JMLToday ( *link*), too? - you know what appears after Installation? In this script you could put the copy...
If you want to make it International... why not putting the Name of "Internal Storage" in the language-File? Or: Ask the user, where he wants to have his "Save-Files" - then you have the complete working path for you.
There's no reason to put something in a .cab, which canbe much easier done after installation. You need it anyway the whole time if somebody creates a new Titanium Skin - or should then the cab be reinstalled?
3. copies all cprs into windows and the shortcut into start menu/programs
Same as 2. - only back... and how to add Shortcuts in an .inf-File - I think that you already knows, right?
Keep up your good work - when it's working - than very much people will know, for what you'd make this effort!
Thank you
Micha

I did not want to touch the rest of ExtensibilityXML because i want to leave the setup of the plugins everyone already has. Anyway only the plugins supported by the theme will show up.

Some developers to which i have talked are willing to change their approach and try to leave bronzeres untouched for the next versions of their themes. Anyway the possibility to swap bronzeres is in the script and it is working well. I have fried to chnage theme without bronzeres at the beginning but for most of the themes the slider panel image is in bronzeres, so it does not look good without changing it.
I will have a look for my VGA-cpr - at the moment I haven't very much installed.

You are right on this, the script could be launched after installation and just copy the TitaniumThemes folder into Storage Card. I did choose this name as i used it in my scripts but i could change it to Internal Storage to suit the needs of non WWE users, for you it would be Speicherkarte right?

Ok, can go in the same script, i thought pakaging everything into 1 cab install would be easier but you are right.
No - not "Speicherkarte" "Interner Speicher" would be the word, which Microsoft has chosen...
With Cab-Wizard you won't have any chance... you need the .inf-File... and I know... it's hard... there's no description for our purpose at one place - I had to seek very much around until I had the cab-concept e.g. for JMLToday.
But so I could help you - I will make bytheway a description with a .cab-Frame for JMLToday 5.3 - but I can give you the additional informations what you need to get it work with AT Plugin Installer.
Therefore I would need the complete directory-structure, which you want to cab... and a little time...
Send me a private message, ok? Don't want to blow up your Thread with Things that doesn't concern all users.
I am working to iron out the cprs for the different themes, to get support for most of the plugins out there today. When they are ready for QVGA i will try to resize them for the other resolutions with the new tool that came out, and post them for you to test them for me in your devices. When they are working well i can post installers for all resolutions.
I need information of which themes people is using to see which ones are worth to be included in the theme switcher, so pls. vote in the poll.

You are totally right Micha, it was late when i posted the poll and forgot to change the option to let choose several options. Now i don't find how to change this option. Any mod can help me do that?
There are some resized cprs to be tested on the first post for VGA and WQVGA. If someone with this resolution has TitaniumShadowNeo or WM7 theme installed could test them, i would be grateful. Pls. don't forget to backup your Titanium cprs first.
Will be happy for any feedback to correct the cprs.

Hi guys,
as I've been around for a while, I decided to share a bit of my work with you, too.
So feel free and use this small program if you like. No warranties as usal from my side.
This Bootmanager has a quite intuitive UI. You get an quick overview of the phone status and can select your boot profiles which you can manage inside the UI as you like (see screen shots below).
Additionally you can have voice announcements, SenseUI control, easy backup & restore of startup folder and program settings and an extended information screen. On this info panel you can find all important information about your phone.
This app only requires .NET CF 3.5 to be installed on your device.
The Pattern of the folder structure is always "\_AutoStart_" & selected Foldername. You can change the folder names in the UI settings tab. The folder "_AutoStart_Backup" is created by the program if you back up your current folder. All other "_AutoStart_" & X folders are created initially, but you want to choose which startup links are in there (folder names are case sensitive!). Just ensure the "X" matches your folder name in the ui settings for this specific button exactly. The default buttons are for Sense UI and XDAndroid. Their respective folder names (in the settings tab) are "Sense" and "Android", therefor I have "_AutoStart_Sense" and "_AutoStart_Android" folders on the root of my phone. In the "_AutoStart_Common" folder you have all the shortcuts which have to start no matter which profile is selected.
Tipp:
I have overclocked my device continously (stable) using this method (with this App) and with SmartBoot I can easily select between OC and non-OC configurations.
For your convenience this Windows Mobile® freeware app supports AppToDate, an easy to use application update program. You can obtain it freely from here.
Please download from Post #2.
Thanks to eboelzner for his great Sense SDK!

Download SmartBoot only here please. (Please no mirrors or similar!)
Please feel free to leave a comment or bugs found.
PS: I will not provide any localization support. Just english language.
If you want I can create a "Light" Version without sounds and stuff, just mention it.
Also if there is demand for it I could create a step-by-step guide.

PS: I will not provide any localization support. Just english language.
If you want I can create a "Light" Version without sounds and stuff, just mention it.
Also if there is demand for it I could create a step-by-step guide.

Hi guys,
as I've been around for a while, I decided to share a bit of my work with you, too.
So feel free and use this small program if you like. No warranties as usal from my side.
This Bootmanager has a quite intuitive UI. You get an quick overview of the phone status and can select your boot profiles which you can manage inside the UI as you like (see screen shots below).
Additionally you can have voice announcements and an extended information screen. On this info panel you can find all important information about your phone.
This app only requires .NET CF 3.5 to be installed on your device.
I wanted to give the community something back, even though it is not much.
But maybe somebody finds it useful, I just thought I could share. Enjoy!
And please don't be too harsh as this is my first publication. There are more to come if it goes smoothly.
Please download from Post #2.
Thanks to eboelzner for his great Sense SDK!

big thank
Thanks, good idea & pretty app. I'll try it.
thanks, look like a very powerful and useful program.
downloading is a bit slow, but smooth.
This promises to be a great app.
Would you consider adding a "safe mode" boot option with it? Just wondering.
And thank you very much for sharing.
hello guys. what is XDAndroid? sorry for being a noob
Thank you for your kind feedback

You currently have two options for a safe mode:
1. Tap "Do nothing" at the initial screen (will exit immediatly -> no boot programs)
2. go to settings and enable "Confirmation", then click the button of your desired boot environment (and you can decide on each short cut -> safe mode).
@All: Thanks for your kind feedback! You are welcome!
PS: If you choose option 2 from above and tap no for at least one shortcut, you will get an "Ooops! Something went wrong!" message at the end.
You can ignore this, as it simply means not all shortcuts got executed.
Where is this app made? Itsn't really clear to me

I've got the same problem.
Hi AndiCP,
i think you have forgotten the xml file. I mean: \Application Data\SmartBoot\Configuration.xml
I have made a empty file. Then the message is:
Fehler: There is an error in XML document (0, 0).
Click to collapse
OK, that's clear.
Next point: you have written that you support only english, no problem.
But Fehler in the popup's is german . Please fix it. And also upload an XML file please.
Also the \_AutoStart_ folders are not created automaticly. Is this the way how should be?
Have we to do this on our own, or is this a litlle bug we have found ?
BTW:
i have allways installed the right .NET version from MS.
EDIT 1:
you say on your private website that the folder names are case sensitive.
Then it must be: _AutoStart_Backup
In your screenshot: _Autostart_Backup
Sorry to say that the app is NOT working on my phone at this moment.
And i'am not alone. There are more people with problems. Please fix it.
At least sense gives problems on restart the phone.
I had to de-install the good idea app. Also some strange problems
on de-installtion. It was not possible. Only with many know how
i was able to de-install it.

Hello twoply and mr.First,
your program error probably comes from a different Startup folder or restricted access to it.
I can't reproduce this error, but I guessed and put an additional entry into the registry ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SmartBoot\Autostart_Folder").
If your folder is not "\Windows\AutoStart\" you can enter another path there.
I also added a reg key to customize the initial sound file ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SmartBoot\Sound_Load").
Please download the updated version.
Further you don't have to softreset in order to try or set things up, just go to your start menu and use the shortcut.
Finally I hope this helps you, please report your results here.

Hello mike2nl,
first of all "Fehler" means "Error".
Second, "Configuration.xml" not found comes from the SmartBoot Directory not being created properly. (Bug: Updated version 1.01 fixes this, then you will also have all the other folders created automatically on first launch).
Third, "AutoStart" is correct whereas in the screen shot you saw before was a left-over of an earlier version, which doesn't matter, because if it wouldn't be found it will be created during backup process anyway.
Last but not least, I can say nothing about "strange problems".
Thanks for your feedback!
Please download the updated version 1.01 or just run AppToDate
Hi AndiCP,
thanks for your fast reaction. I will test it again now. Downloaded and then install it. Will report later here....
EDIT 1:
after installing the app and two times a soft reset the app blocks sense more then once. Strange...
I had to de-install the little app. This was an adventure again. All known ways are not working.
Only massive working in the windows folder and registry cleaning has helped out of that issue.
On which system you have developed thius app? If there something special done for the SonyEricson?
EDIT 2:
after re-install the application i had denite the folder move for the autostart things. Strange, because
then the app will workig. If i have selected Sense UI i get an error message:
Ooops, something went wrong
Click to collapse
Is this normal? Why you say it is something went wrong? But so far so good. Will test further now.
EDIT 3 (info only):
i have changed the autostart folder in the cab from \Windows\Auto Start to \Windows\Opstarten (dutch version)
EDIT 4 (question):
Have we to copy the apps/shortcuts for the \_AutoStart_xxx\ folders on uor own?
- if the answer yes, no problem (i think thats the way for now)
- if the answer no, then is something wrong
Possible you can think about that issue for a future version of your helpfull app.
Further i think you must add the descirption from your private website here to the first post:
The Pattern is always "\_AutoStart_" & selected Foldername.

Indeed, my Startup folder has another name. I changed the path in the registry, and now everything works.

to Edit 1: I can't reproduce and never had something like that, sounds like you have problems in your rom anyway as you are the only one reporting this.
Info: Its a simple and standard setup cab (auto generated). Nothing special or changed, it only copies the files. It works the same way on every windows mobile version.
to Edits 2&3: as I said, please check your Autostart folder and change it accordingly.
to Edit 4: Yes. I won't ever include a filemanager!
Hi AndiCP,
i have downloaded the last version yesterday. Installed it and it is running.
At now withour any issue. I think the changings are the solution. But with
un-installation i have my issues. Also when sense is off. But that is not
really a big issue, yet. I will test this again after the next hard reset.
I think this comes with the next CHT test. We, the team, are really haevy busy .
So far, excellent app, that helps me to organize my startup issues on all
CHT (e, s, ...) issues. Thanks for that. That brings us a good effort.
Will report this to co0kie (CHT) and Dark Ninja (GTX).
BTW:
possible you can tell me (PM) where you get or has made the sound files.
I will change something for my needs
First I feel the potential problems with the English, still need a little support from google translator.
I present my rom in version 5.1 (previous versions are in the Spanish forum I frequent There he will see only good things about it http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=2779093#post2779093 )

- Remember to do the installation lite to flash the zip Do_Lite_Normal.zip (CWM) or edit yours in Do_Lite_Al_Gusto.zip
LINK
http://www.multiupload.com/K6SZGD8G5B
Instalation
Very simple.
Download the zip for installation and place it on your phone.
We went into recovery (combo well with vol + Home button and power or some kind of external app if you have)
I am in favor of making all wipes when installing something new, to make the installation cleaner and avoid mistakes, but each to do what you want. (Even so check the installation notes for each rom to see if any were special)
To do this, wipe data / factory reset, wipe wipe dalvikcache cache and advanced.
And finally install the zip: install zip form sdcard / choose zip / and choose the zip
Reboot and ready
Onset is usually somewhat slower, since it is completely normal at the first boot android creates many files and that takes time.
Make lite Instalation
When CarbonOcean to flash (from v5.0) rom is full, ie it has each and every one of the standard apps, to lighten the rom and improve performance, we can make lite rom for it in / sdcard MikiMod_CO find a folder called within two zip you can find them.
DoLiteNormal.zip
For those who are here from the beginning, it would be like the normal versions of my old roms. For those new to flash this zip recovery are automatically deleted from the trash apps that comes with the phone as standard. Flasar this zip will get improved battery life and performance, and reduced application list.
I recommend this zip to flash people android newcomer to the world.
DoLite_editar_al_gusto.zip
So that, in this case we do 100% custom installation. and choose which apps we want and which not. To do this:
If we do from the PC is faster and better, but can be done from the mobile also but from the best cell phone only people who know how to do ...
Open the zip file with Winrar (open OJO not unzip or extract or anything) and we will META-INF/com/google/android / and open it with notepad + + (eye NOTEPAD + + is not worth the typical Windows notepad, if you have not look on Google's free) updater-script file. And something like that but it will be longer:
delete("/system/app/BuddiesNow.apk");
delete("/system/app/Days.apk");
delete("/system/app/DigitalClock.apk");
For it is as easy as deleting the lines of the apps you wish to keep. For example:
Days.apk need the app and do not want to delete. then you go to file and borrais this.
delete ("/ system / app / Days.apk");
so that looks like this:
delete ("/ system / app / AccuWeatherDaemonService.apk");
delete ("/ system / app / AnalogClock.apk");
delete ("/ system / app / BuddiesNow.apk");
delete ("/ system / app / DigitalClock.apk");
delete ("/ system / app / Dlna.apk");
And so with all the apps you wish to keep, if you leave this file flaseais unedited and will erase all apps not required for basic operation of the phone, the only application that is a little more delicate is the mtpaplication, which is for connect via USB (I think the kies). the rest you can delete without problems.
Once you finish editing the file you give it to the floppy. and saved. shut the notepad + + and the win rar will give you a message telling you if you want to update the file inside the zip, you say yes and go.
Will copy the zip to a folder so you can use yours and mikimods future and even in other roms then just go to recovery and to flash the zip file, or from the flash app update.zip CWM seek and accept it.
Themes
You can install any universal theme in the beginning, though it might not work as well as they should, this problem would be only the subject and not mine.
Here I will put the CarbonBlue of @ rastafary (best blue theme of the moment) a little touched up with the aesthetics of my rom. 100% functional on any version CarbonOcean [KI3]

Rated as exellent.
Do you recommend "copy all system data" with titanium when updating to 5.1 from 3.5?
or just copy apps to avoid system bugs?
I'm an unconditional fan since version 1.0 of your ROM.
I think it's the best ROM for SGS2 at this moment, lesser battery drain and fast, really fast.
Keep working mikisb! See you here and at HTCMania!
Thanks mikisb for your job. I've got all your rom and all of them are simplily faster and no problems.
Salu2!!!
