Hey Guys!
Wait is over. Here is another nice ROM for everybody to enjoy. This time, its with Manilla 2D and as with my previous ROMs, its fully loaded and everythings working the way it should be. Its a no nonsense, no compromise ROM. I've tested it quiet thoroughly for last 3 days and found it quiet stable and speedy.
I give it the name BlackMetal. The name is inspired by the design of ROM.
Here are the details of it:
ROM's base operating system version is CE OS 5.2.1622 (Build 20270.1.3.1)
Free Memory at Startup : 23.11 MB initially, After normal use for 5-10 mins : 20.10 MB
Free User Space : 44.29 MB
Page Pool : 5 MB
I have created it with my own ported XIP from WM 6 Original Rom for P3400i using Ramerson's Kitchen (my favourite) for GENE.

Problem Resolutions:
------------------------
1. SMS/ MMS Account missing on first boot!!!
Solution: It happens for some strange reasons that i haven't been able to find but there is a quick workaround for it.
1. Open Messaging, and close it without doing anything.
2. Go to the Messaging tab of Manilla 2D and Press either the Create New SMS button or select New from the menu.
3. A new sms window will come at this time. Cancel the Message. SMS and MMS account would have been created by now.
4. Duplicate Installation of Audio Manager in \Program File taking up phone memory unnecessarily!!
Solution: Some people might not even notice it. But if you have read this thread carefully, you will notice that you have less phone memory that what is quoted in Post #1. Actually this is a duplicate installation of audio manager created for some unknown reason. i have done all the usual checks but can't find any particular solution for this that i can cook with the ROM. But you can delete the whole Audio Manager folder safely from \Program File without any problem. Audio Manager runs directly from \Windows Folder and the shortcut in Start Menu > Programs also points to that. This is just useless.
3. Audio Booster doesn't allows entering Equalizer settings and checking the equalizer checkbox + Missing Audiobooster Option in Audio Managers Menu
Solution: This is not a problem and happens with some versions of AudioBooster and Audio Manager, if their version numbers are different. To resolve it :-
Just start AudioManager, let it build its library a little and then play a song for minimum 5 seconds. After that start AudioBooster, adjust one of its sliders a little. Then soft reset your phone, and both the problems will be solved. What happens is, they create their respective registry settings on first start and after that everything is fine. In Original ROMs from HTC, since on first boot the Customization applications runs, it sets up the registry itself. But even with that, you have to reboot your device anyway.
4. Audio Manager and Windows Media Player stop playback if power button is pressed and phone enters suspend mode.
Solution: First of all, Thanks to Shaunak.it for finding the solution.
This problem occurs in some specific builds of gene. It can occur in old gene and new gene both. So here is what it is like:
Normally, If you press the power button while music is playing, Audio Manager and Windows Media Player stop playback. But this only happens when headset is not connected. If headset is connected, the playback wont stop.This is a standard behavior and not a problem. But on some p3400 and P3400i phones, the playback stops no-matter headset is connected or not. I was not able to find the solution for this problem as it was not happening with me. But a friend of ours from this forum, shaunak.it solved it as he was having this annoyance. Here's what you have to do:
Open the Task Manager Advanced. Click the down faced arrow to the right of the screen and select Regedit from the menu. Now in the folder tree on the upper half of the screen, Navigate to :
For AudioManager:
HKLM > Software > HTC > Audio Manager > Config
In the lower section, look for a value called ENTER_SUSPEND. If its there, double tap on it to edit it and enter 0 as new value. Otherwise, in an empty area in the same place, tap and hold for a while for a context menu to appear. Select New > Value. Select REG_DWORD as Value Type. In the name field, type ENTER_SUSPEND. Click the Set Data button and enter 1 as the value. Click Ok and then again Ok.
For Windows Media Player
HKLM > System > Current Control Set > Control > Power > State > Suspend. Again in the lower left corner look for a value named WAV, if its there, double tap to edit it and then enter 0 as its new value. Otherwise, in an empty area in the same place, tap and hold for a while for a context menu to appear. Select New > Value. Select REG_DWORD as Value Type. In the name field, type WAV. Click the Set Data button and enter 0 as the value. Click Ok and then again Ok.
This will solve your problem.

@hksin1988: Buddy my previous ROM (Pro User's ROM) was for both old and new gene. I will build the old gene version eventually. I dont have this phone so it takes some time for me to do that.

The XIP that came with this ROM has many things missing, so i extracted the XIP, re-ported it using the Original P3400i WM6 ROM's XIP as base and created a new rom-hdr.nb using this XIP. In simple words, i recreated the whole BASE folder in the kitchen.
@All P3400 OLD GENE Owners:
Guys, be patient. I'll do the porting thing tonight and maybe upload it tonight or tomorrow. Its not like just pressing a button guys, i will need to port the whole XIP again. It takes about 1.5 hours of work.
@swapnil: Buddy the kitchen is quiet huge in size. And its even not complete yet, i use parts of kitchen from Old Users ROM and Part from this new ROM. So its a little more complicated than you think. The Base kitchen that i am using is Ramerson's and Ankit's manilla ROM. So if you really want to learn the process, get these two and read a lot on XIP porting etc on this forum. I have also learn that way. Porting a ROM requires a bit of understanding of the whole architecture of the OS. And even greater if you want to optimize it.
And by the way, when you use Ramerson's kitchen for porting a different ROM, the only thing you can use from the original kitchen is the kitchen.exe file and 1-2 files from the BASE folder. Rest is created from the ROM you are porting, its your job to create it. When you understand the process, you can use this fact as a hint

How to make a language pack?
- Open a rom that have the language you want. Please use a structurated rom to get simplier your work.
- in the sys, copy all contents in the language folders (for italian, 0410, copy all the folders that have in the name "0410") in a folder and rename the .rgu in .reg.
- Then you need the name of the folders, you can get it into the initflashfiles.dat. Create a dirs.txt and put for each line the folders (or files) to rename. Example:

Honestly? For all ROMs that are created for both SPL 1.2 and SPL 3.5, yes. Downgrade. There's no point having SPL 3.5 if you're not taking advantage of the extra space.

I agree.
I look at this this way:
Why give up 20MB of user memory for no reason? With SPL1.2 you have 20MB more memory. Unfortunately, after the downgrade, you won't get back all the 20 MB. I think about 3MB is gone for good.
I think the changing from SPL3.5 to spl1.2 is actually an upgrade, not downgrade. It upgrades the user memory up by about 17MB.
The change from spl1.2 to spl3.5 is a downgrade of user memory but upgrade of ROM memory space. The change from spl3.5 back to spl1.2 is an upgrade of user memory by giving back from the ROM memory space.

This is true as long as you are trying to use an SPL 1.2/SPL 3.5 ROM. If you have a "real" SPL 3.5 ROM, then this argument becomes less true.
The thing is, there are definite advantages to having things pre-loaded in ROM. Mind you, there are some disadvantages that come with it as well, but if you're already on SPL 3.5, why not take advantage of what it gives you? I'll probably end up making a post when I finish with my own personal ROM, but I have a hell of a lot of things in here - so much so that I'm surprised how much I can fit. And it's rather nice, actually.
But if you're not doing that? If you believe in a minimalist, "clean" ROM? SPL 3.5 is totally not for you.
As a side point, by the way: just because you have a packed-to-the-gills ROM doesn't mean that it's slow. The slowness tends to come from things like services, drivers, continually running programs. If the files in the ROM are from load/unload applications, then that won't have an impact on the device speed (unless you really want to start getting picky about the number of files in \Windows).

But if you have tons of stuff in the windows directory, then when you use file manager on that directory, won't you take much longer time for it to respond back? What about backup and restore too? Having things we never use will slow these down too, won't it? Finally, once you have packed in lots of application into the ROM, the installation of them will still invade into your program memory, leaving you with less memory for the stuff that you really want to run, right? For applications that gets update regularly, I hate to see two versions of them in my device - a problem if they are built into the ROM.

Yes. Fairly small case (since you don't normally use a file manager there), but that's true.

As long as you have a semi-intelligent backup application, no. Files in ROM are marked as being in ROM. You use Resco Explorer - take a look at the properties of a ROM file in \Windows, like \Windows\aac_reader.dll. You'll notice that there's a ROM checkbox that's ticked on.

Nope. Applications that aren't running don't take up any program memory at all. Program memory is RAM. What we're talking about here is ROM. ROM is used by the operating system ROM (all these things we keep flashing on our devices) and by storage.

I'm using sprite backup. There is no such intelligence in that I'm afraid. Under windows, all dll are there, whether it was from the ROM or installed by me - all mixed up. It would be a challenge to sort out which came from ROM and to uncheck them individually.

No need. I have Sprite Backup. It's smart enough not to back up any file in ROM (modified files don't count, because then you have a copy in storage as well).

My backup time for Irus's Sogarth Vanilla is just about 2.5 minutes. For the non-vanilla, it is at least double. How come the difference then? The size of the backup file is also much smaller in the case of his ROM.
Bluetooth Stack
Hi Michy,
I've tested your 1.60F ROM which I must admit is great!
The first usable rom I tested iimho.
The only thing didn't respond was
'Cannot inizialize the GPS server' with geocaching option active on the camera, while on wm6.0 roms was ok.
Is your 1.79.2F based on the same bluetooth stack of the 1.60F or is it a new one?
Do the geocaching option with the camera work on your new release?

1. Active Sync starting up automatically.
Solution:
Step 1. See the solution given in Pro Users ROM WM 6.1 edition thread.
Step 2. I addition to that here is something that will get rid of the problem forever (next hard reset i mean )
- Open DotFred's task manager and go to Notifications tab.
- Look for all notifications that have repllog.exe in the "Notified Programs" and the value "AppRunAfterTimeChange" in Argument column. Delete these entries (button for deletion is in the bottom toolbar). In most cases there will be two such entries.
-Reboot the phone.
Thats it. ActiveSync wont start on its own now. Please note that even after you do this step, the previous "Fake Server" fix is still needed to be applied. Both of these work together.
Recommended Addons :

1. Advance Configuration Tool : Can be used to change advanced system settings. Some of the most popular settings are to disable dialer themes, tuning filesystem cache for increased performance and enabling battery icon in taskbar on home screen instead of clock. Use it carefully though as some of the settings are a bit dangerous, specially the touchflo touch sensitivity settings.
2. EzInput ABC Default : Sets ABC as the default mode for the new keyboards instead of T9.
3. ClearTemp: Cleanup accumulated junk from your phone using this.
4. Disable XT9 by DuttyThroy: Disables the ET9 and XT9 dictionary system that comes with EZInput keyboards and enables default Windows Mobile's dictionary.
5. HomeScreenPlusPlus with Clock Theme: If you ever get bored with Manila, use it as your homescreen plugin for a good look. Also comes with a very capable task manager and OMAP processor Overclocker (use with caution!!)
6. I-Contact Version .9 and PointUI Modified blue theme NEW!!: Finger Friendly Contact Application. This version is ultra fast! Loads contacts even faster than the default Windows Mobile Contacts app. Amazing!!! And it has settings icons too, but its in Start>Settings>System instead on Programs. I have also included the PointUI theme that closely matches the color scheme of this ROM. I have modified it for working with this ROM.
7. M2DC (Manila 2D Customizer) : It can be used to customize some of the aspects of Manila 2D as well as installing new themes.
8. NEW!! Audio Manager 2.2 Minimal Install : Use the 5 files in the zip file to upgrade your audio manager to version 2.2. This update would be part of any further release of this ROM. I really cant wait to get back home and flash this new rom..........
@Sumit..... Buddy I am facing a problem with Active Sync since a couple of days (I use vista). The first time when I sync the phone it works but the next time it shows sync error. so I have to delete the partnership and set up device again, this solves the problem but only for one time. the next time I have to sync I have to do the same, meaning delete the partnership and set up device again. I have also noticed that the My Documents folder of the phone on my pc is missing. Im using the new windows mobile device centre...Please help!!

@nevermind_me: Yes that is an issue with Microsoft Outlook actually. When you start to sync your phone, right click on the taskbar on your PC and click "Task Manager". Go to the "Processes" tab. There, in the "Image Name" column, you will see two instances of "Outlook.exe" running. If you will look at the "Memory (Private Working Set)" column, one will be using higher amount of memory and other will be using lower amount of memory. Kill the outlook.exe which is using more memory and the sync will start.
@svrhari: Yes i will upload an old gene version and when it will be uploaded, you'll get a link in this thread in post #1 as i always do. I will also update the thread title so keep checking for that.

Thanks buddy, and ya do give feedback buddy. That's what most people don't do and then blame the ROM later for not performing well. People should understand that I have only one device on which i can test. Rest is up to the community.

This ROM is based on the same core as BlackMetal ROM but i have removed most of the bugs from that base. I am doing some research on new builds of Windows Mobile CE OS so there will be something new soon. But for the meanwhile, this is what i have for you.
It has Manilla 2D Elfin Build but with Opal theme. All the software that were there in BlackMetal are here too. Basically some bugs have been fixed, some software versions have been updated, some themes changes and a few utilities added.
I named it VanillaManila because its a pure vanilla rom with manila 2D in all its originality.
Here are the details of it:
Base Operating System version is CE OS 5.2.1622 (Build 20270.1.3.1)
Free Memory at Startup : 22.80 MB initially, After normal use for 5-10 mins : 20.18 MB
Free User Space : 40.69 MB
Page Pool : 5 MB
I have created it with my own ported XIP from WM 6 Original Rom for P3400i using Ramerson's Kitchen (my favourite) for GENE.

Please NOTE:
1.Please apply the Opal today theme the first time you boot your phone after flashing. Otherwise you wont get flat title and soft key bar and WK task will have a different background color. Will fix it if i get some time.
2. A duplicate installation of Audio Manager is created in \Program Files folder for an unknown reason. You can safely delete it.
ROM is complete, with all parts of OS intact and HTC's original OEM apps in it with updated versions of some. Apart from SQM, Windows Update and Welcome center, nothing is missing from it.
Main Features
* WM 6.1 with Manilla 2D Elfin + Opal version with Windows Live working
* Manila Opal themes for main applications like Manilla 2D plugin, Phone Dialer, Windows Media Player, Calculator, Comm Manager etc.
* WKTask, an advance task manager and program launcher which shows icons of running programs on task bar and manages them very smoothly. Its the primary task manager used in this ROM. HTC task manager is not there as i think its not of much use along with this one. Tweaks have been pre-applied to WKTask so that it doesn't shows Manila2D.exe in the task list and does not hides any icons.
* Good FileSystem and Application Response timing: Windows folder is accessible within 5 seconds from any explorer application despite being a manilla based ROM. Application response time is also good.

@hari: Ya, actually zip program is not included in this ROM. PocketRAR is there for it. Open PocketRAR and on first run it will ask you to associate zip and RAR files with it. Check both boxes and click ok. Now your zip files will open in PocketRAR. If you have opened it previously and cancelled this box then open WinRAR, Click on Tools>Settings and on the Integration tab, check both boxes and click OK. That will solve your problem

Open the music tab and let Audiomanager rebuild it database. But be aware that every time you visit the music tab, Audio Manager is started, since the tab actually uses audio manager to play back audio

Actually Hari, Whever you go to the music tab on home screen, it will start the audio manager automatically. THis is the default behaviour of Manilla 2D (The thing that you are using on your home screen with tabs, clock, weather, music etc, its called Manilla 2D). To close Audio Manager, click and hold on it, then click close. When it will start for the first time, it will search for music files on your sd card as well as phone memory so it may seem unresponsive. Let it do that once. After that it will start normally.

240Mhz constant SAFE overclocking. Follow the steps carefully.
Disclaimer : I'm not responsible if any damage is caused to your device if you don't follow the steps carefully. The next rom update(if lucky) will be having this feature right out of the box.
Instructions :
Download the following file from the link below and unzip.
Install omap_omapclock.cab to device memory.(not storage card). (also you should have Resco Explorer V8.0 or higher installed.)
Remove omapClock folder inside Omap folder program files after installation and past it inside /Program Files/ itself.(no sub folders).
Rename omapClock folder to OmapClock.
Finally OmapClock.exe should be in your /Program Files/OmapClock/ folder on your device.
Open File Explorer on your device and open Omapclock.exe. Set it to 240Mhz.(not more than that !).
ISSUE : Suspending the device at this point will cause the speed to be reset back to default. (we'll solve this in the steps below).
Open Resco Explorer and go to the /Program Files/OmapClock/ folder. Locate the OmapClock.exe file and hold the stylus on this file until menu pops. Choose “Copy”.
Now browse to \Windows\Startup then hold stylus in an empty area and when menu pops, choose paste shortcut.
Hold the stylus on the newly created OmapClock shortcut and choose Properties then click the Shortcut tab.
Target should be: “\Program Files\OmapClock\OmapClock.exe” –clock 240
Soft reset and test. Suspending the device will reset the device back to the default speed.
Now install DinarSoft MemMaid from my package u downloaded in step 1.
Open MemMaid and choose the Notification queue button/tab on the bottom (second from left) then click the ADD button.
For Program, click the browse button and browse to the shortcut you created in steps 9-10. The location of the shortcut is \Windows\Startup.
From the event dropdown choose “The device woke up”.
Click Add.
Soft reset and you are done. The Clock speed will remain at the specified speed you specified in step 11 even when the device comes out of suspend.

Ans. No,this is not a ROM problem.these errors occur when you haven't synced your device properly or you are missing required drivers on your computer/laptop.before flashing a ROM, make sure you have synced your device properly.read the Guide properly,go through the explaination properly and then flash a ROM.
Q.My music stops or gets stuck when the screen is locked or turned off.
Ans. this will probably happen in windows media player and the Audio manager.Solution - see registry fix in Bugs and Fixes post.
Q.After a heavy usage,my phone goes low on memory.what should i do ?
Ans. Go to Advance Task Manager and delete/kill the unwanted processes/applications running on the background.Keep hibernating your phone everytime before you start an application and after exiting an application.
Q.Can i flash a W.M.6.1 ROM after flashing a W.M.6.5 or W.M.6.5.X ROM ?
Ans. Yes you can.only be carefull if you are flashing an official ROM.
Q.Im not able to go to bootloader mode.what should i do?
Ans. Read the Guide properly.

1. The Camera Applications shows little anomalies like number blinking at bottom of screen, hang if left direction key is pressed etc..?
Solution: Use the registry file in CameraFix.zip and incorporate it into your registry using some registry editor or the provided Task Manager 2 application provided in ROM.
2.How to configure Hotmail's Pop3 Access in default messaging application of Windows Mobile without using Windows Live?
Solution: Create a new email account as usual and use these details:
Step 1:
Email Address: Your email but dont use @hotmail.com, instead use something else like htmail.com or something like that. Please not that this is only necessary if your email address end in @hotmail.com. Other Windows Live users dont need to do this.
Password: Your Password.
Step 2:
Uncheck the checkbox : Try to get e-mail settings automatically from the Internet
Step 3:
Select "Internet E-Mail" as your service provider.
Step4:
Enter your name and an account name.
Step 5:
Incoming Mail Server: pop3.live.com
Account Type : POP3
Step 6:
Username : Your email address (full email including @hotmail.com or any other windows live address that you have. This time give it correctly)
Password: Your Password.
Step 7:
Outgoing (SMTP) mail Server: smtp.live.com
Check the box "Outgoing Server requires authentication" and "Use the same username and password for sending mail."
Click "Advance Server Settings". Check the boxes "Use SSL for Incoming Mail" and "Use SSL for outgoing mail". Select "The Internet" as Network connection and then click "Done."
Step 8:
Select the Automatic update interval you want or manual for no automatic mail checking.
Click Finish.
Now open the account in Messaging and click Menu>Tools>Options. Click the account name, click "Edit Account Setup" and change the email address to the real one.Click Next, Next untill Finish and then click ok to close the options menu.
Thats it. Hotmail will be accessible from messaging now.
3. ActiveSync Starts up Again and Again Automatically Even When the Phone is Not Connected to USB cable or Bluetooth
Solution: It happens for some strange reasons that i haven't been able to find but for now there is a workaround for it.
For Users who use Exchange server with ActiveSync will have no problem if they have set the update schedule to manual. Otherwise, if you are using the push mail feature of exchange, then ActiveSync will run all the time for syncing and that is very normal.
For User who dont use Exchanage server, they should create a fake server and then set the update schedule to manual to prevent ActiveSync from running on its own. Here are the steps for that.
First of all, configure ActiveSync with your PC if you want to sync with PC using the usual method. After that:
1. Open Activesync on your phone and from the menu choose Configure Server...
2. Enter any email address. Clear the checkbox titled "Attempt to detect Exchange Server Settings Automatically". Click Next.
3. In server address, enter localhost or anything else. Click next.
4. Enter any username, password and domain name. I mean random strings. Also check save password checkbox.
5. Clear all the checkboxes in the "Data you want to synchronize" list. Click Finish.
6. Open Menu>Schedule. Here set both the dropdown lists to "Manually" and clear both the checkboxes. Click OK and close ActiveSync.
Plus as an additional step, delete the unneeded notification for Active Sync. To do that :
1. Open DotFred's task manager (Task Manager 2) and go to the Notifications tab.
2. In "Notified Programs", search for repllog.exe. You will most probably find 3 entries for it.
3. Scroll horizontally and out of these 3 or what ever entries, find those which have the entry "AppRunAtTimeChange" or "AppRunAfterTimeChange". Delete these entries, using the third icon from left on the bottom toolbar.
ActiveSync wont give you any problems after this.
4. Audio Booster doesn't allows entering Equalizer settings and checking the equalizer checkbox + Missing Audiobooster Option in Audio Managers Menu
Solution: This is not a problem and happens with some versions of AudioBooster and Audio Manager, if their version numbers are different. To resolve it :-
Just start AudioManager, let it build its library a little and then play a song for minimum 5 seconds. After that start AudioBooster, adjust one of its sliders a little. Then soft reset your phone, and both the problems will be solved. What happens is, they create their respective registry settings on first start and after that everything is fine. In Original ROMs from HTC, since on first boot the Customization applications runs, it sets up the registry itself. But even with that, you have to reboot your device anyway.
5. Audio Manager and Windows Media Player stop playback if power button is pressed and phone enters suspend mode.
Solution: First of all, Thanks to Shaunak.it for finding the solution.
This problem occurs in some specific builds of gene. It can occur in old gene and new gene both. So here is what it is like:
Normally, If you press the power button while music is playing, Audio Manager and Windows Media Player stop playback. But this only happens when headset is not connected. If headset is connected, the playback wont stop.This is a standard behavior and not a problem. But on some p3400 and P3400i phones, the playback stops no-matter headset is connected or not. I was not able to find the solution for this problem as it was not happening with me. But a friend of ours from this forum, shaunak.it solved it as he was having this annoyance. Here's what you have to do:
Open the Task Manager Advanced. Click the down faced arrow to the right of the screen and select Regedit from the menu. Now in the folder tree on the upper half of the screen, Navigate to :
For AudioManager:
HKLM > Software > HTC > Audio Manager > Config
In the lower section, look for a value called ENTER_SUSPEND. If its there, double tap on it to edit it and enter 0 as new value. Otherwise, in an empty area in the same place, tap and hold for a while for a context menu to appear. Select New > Value. Select REG_DWORD as Value Type. In the name field, type ENTER_SUSPEND. Click the Set Data button and enter 1 as the value. Click Ok and then again Ok.
For Windows Media Player
HKLM > System > Current Control Set > Control > Power > State > Suspend. Again in the lower left corner look for a value named WAV, if its there, double tap to edit it and then enter 0 as its new value. Otherwise, in an empty area in the same place, tap and hold for a while for a context menu to appear. Select New > Value. Select REG_DWORD as Value Type. In the name field, type WAV. Click the Set Data button and enter 0 as the value. Click Ok and then again Ok.
Secondly, in the same way go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > MediaPlayer >Preferences and create or modify the DWORD value
"UnattendedPlayback" and set it to 1.
I am attaching a .reg file to do this automatically. Just go to the Task Manager advance and on the registry tab click the first icon in the bottom icon bar and click Import.. and browse to this file and select it.
This will solve your problem.

Here are the settings.
you need to have the following :
1) SHUTDOWN.wav
2)wm61_shutdown.gif
Now place this folder in ur device/My documents.(NOT THE STORAGE CARD.) Keep the files as it is.Now open resco explorer.right click on wm61_shutdown.gif and go to properties.there , in Attributes make sure only Archive option is checked. Rest should be unchecked.
Now open Schap's Advance Config.
Navigate to Splash screen. And make these settings.
1) MS splash screen on shut down : Default
2) Carrier splash screen on shutdown : Default
3)MS Time out on shutdown : 0
4)Carrier time out on shutdown : 1500
Navigate to Htc animation. Do the following settings.
1)Shutdown gif file : (browse to the .gif file in ur my documents/animation folder)
2)Shutdown wav file : (browse to the .wav file in ur my documents/animation folder)
3) Play shutdown animation : Yes(default)
My custom Shutdown .gif animation.I colaborated some of the images from this thread. and reseted the frame timings.I have purposely not set the animation to "repeat forever" mode.otherwise it would be a problem while shutting down.download the image and see the animation.

7. At the 8th minutes your device will be rebooted automatically. Wait again for 4 minutes for Cold Boot.
8. Align Screen, set the time, date, and localization... and finished.
9. If you finished all the steps, please change your device into landscape mode, and reboot device. This will enable HTC Album's Portrait Mode.
That's all folks...

Other ROM details...
1. Japanese Support
This ROM is using wince.nls that support Japanese font and encodings. So you can open Japanese web pages, files, etc. But unfortunately, I couldn't include Japanese font in the ROM image. You can download it along with the arabic font, here:
MS Gothic and Traditional Arabic
Just extract the RAR, and copy the msgothic.ac3 and/or trado.ttf to the device's Windows directory. I have edited the registries..

Titanium and LockScene font
You can change you Titanium font to Curlz MT by copying these files inside the RAR to the device's Windows directory.
Curlz MT Titanium and LockScene
You can also change it to many different fonts by editing the cpr files. Open the cpr in notepad, and edit/replace the "Harlow Solid Italic" or "Curlz MT" I used, with the one you desired.
Memory
As we know that HP iPAQ rw6828 has only 64MB RAM. And it may be difficult to run this ROM 'snappy'. But, with some editing you may be able to optimize it's performance.
1. Easy Trick - Install tweaking tools such as SKTools, MemMaid, etc.. Set your device to optimize RAM/Memory.
2. Advanced Trick - Use the Advanced Configuration Tools which I already add in the ROM, in the start menu folder SYSTEM. Open it, and set some values in performance as below.
Performances
v File system cache: Enabled
v File system cache size: 1KB
v File system filter cache: 2 sectors
v PNP unload delay: 4096
v PNP wait I/O delay: 4096
v Glyph cache: 128 (actually 256 is better, but you cannot set it with this app)

The battery consumption will depend on the today item activated. Manila 2D will consume your battery faster than Titanium. Overall, this ROM consumes your battery normally.

Change Log :
Notes: This ROM includes Touch InCall Screen Tweak which turns off screen while calling (placed the device near ears). It worked fine for me but I doubt it will for you as well so if it doesn't, please disable it. To do so, go to Start -> Utilities -> Touch InCall Screen Tweak Config -> Options 'tab' -> Tick Always On -> Save. You can find more settings of the same app over there.
Some of apps listed about (Marked as 'In UC') doesn't include in the ROM. However, the app cabs are bundled in the ROM package and maintained to be used for XDA_UC_NET. For more info, read the readme text file in Xtras folder included the ROM package. For more info about XDA_UC_NET app, visit here
Its because some user like Opera version 9.7 and some version 10. Both cannot be included or if any one of them, users will have troubles using/installing other version(s). So this is the better way I hope.

Known Issues :
Issue #1: Startmenu takes some time to open at bootup or first boot.
Reason - Startmenu will be setting up at first launch.
Solution - Please wait until it configs and then you can use your device.
Issue #2: On first boot, there are no buttons in bottom bar except start menu icon in phone canvas aka dialer.
Solution - Make soft reboot, if still persists. Try shutdown and power ON again.
Issue #3: Cannot find button to accept cropping of contact image in HTC Album.
Reason - The HTC Album isn't fully compatible with WM6.5.x
Solution - The buttons are not visible but works. Left soft button is back and right soft button is done/ok.

• RUU supports all Windows platforms.
• Before you flash, make sure your Topaz is CID unlocked aka HardSPL. Click here for more info.
• Before you flash, make sure your Topaz has at least 50% battery power.
• Before you flash, make sure you have taken backup of all your important data(s) on your Topaz including contacts, tasks, messages, emails and etc.
• Before you flash, make sure you have disabled screen saver, power saving and the like on your PC.
• Before you flash, make sure your PC has battery backup provided for safety propose. At least for 15 mins.
• Before you flash, close all the running softwares on your PC. Soft reboot the PC is recommended before flashing.
• While flashing, DO NOT start another process.
• While flashing, DO NOT minimize the RUU window. Let it stay in the foreground.
• While flashing, DO NOT interact or use your Topaz, unless instructed to do so.
• While flashing, DO NOT remove the USB sync cable from PDA, unless instructed to do so.

• After flashing and booting successfully, make a soft reboot. Hard reboot is recommended.
• On the first boot, start menu may take some time to open. Please give it some time before to start using your Topaz. It should be fine on 2nd boot and so on.
• This ROM upgrade doesn’t include radio aka GSM, IPL, SPL or etc. except OS and splash screen.

The ROM consists of two UC options. One is automated installation on first boot after flashing which works from file called "SDConfig.txt" in the root directory of your storage card. Click here for more info. Second is XDA_UC_NET which works by running the app manually. Quick Start guide about XDA_UC_NET :
1. Create following folders on your storage card
• XDA_UC
• XDA_UC\Manual
• XDA_UC\Copy2Root
• XDA_UC\Run
• XDA_UC\Execute
“XDA_UC” is a place for all .cab, .reg, .mscr, .cer files that should be automatically installed to device.
“Manual” is a place for all cab files you want install in usual "visible" mode with all questions.
“Copy2Root” is a place for all files and folders that should be automatically copied to device.
“Run” is a place for you self-extracting archives.
“Execute” is a place for you self-extracting archives if you want to continue customization while them working.
2. Run XDA_UC_NET and press customize button*.
*Make sure XDA_UC in Storage Card is selected as XDA_UC folder before you run the customizations.
