I usually sit in the Kaiser forum but I thought I'd post this here for a change.
I have a few mates who occasionally like to get drunk and then phone me in the middle of the night to tell me just how drunk they really are. To stop them I decided to hit them hard and show them who's the boss when it comes to phones, so I wrote the ZM Dialer. It's a program that'll automatically dial the specified phone, when you want, how many times you want, and for how long you want. They now think twice before dicking about!
Number = Number to dial (don't forget to put the withhold your number code if you want to stay anonymous)
Max Dials = Maximum amount of phone calls
Delay Before Dialing = Seconds delay before the phone starts dialing... ie the program won't activate until XXXX seconds time.
Connect Time = Seconds from start of dialing to ending the call ... 10 seconds is good for mobile to mobile.
Dialing Interval = Seconds between dials ....
CheckBoxes.
Terminate Dialing of Answer Detect = To minimise cost and it's pointless to irritate the persons voicemail, This is ticked as default as if the 'far end' answers, the program detects it, hangs up and stops dialing and deactivates 'Stay Awake' (second picture)..... it monitors SystemProperty.PhoneCallTalking if you're intereasted.
SpeakerPhone On = Activates the speaker automatically on every call.
Keep Awake = Stops the phone hibernating, once it's reached the max dials, this will untick and the phone will hibernate.

**** Version Update ..... Version 7 released ****
Many thanks to smotrs for CAB'ing it up for us!!! Just drop the CAB on the phone and it'll install the dialer into Program Files. Thanks smotrs!!!
Left a 'return' in a strange place .... all fixed.
Added in the contact list browser, 141 indicated the withhold number code for the UK, click the '+' to open choose a contacts mobile number from your address list.... in the example the number dialed would be 1410007.
**** V9 Update ****
As requested by smotrs ... version 9 now remembers the withhold code and phone number from the previous session .. this is held in the 'dialer.txt' file in the same location as the program and reloaded on startup.
Zip files also been changed and the V9 CAB will put it in My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\
Just drop the exe anywhere on the phone you like.
**** V10 Update - Major Fix plus redialer update ****
As requested by BallGor and a few others, you will now see a 'Work as redialer' option. When ticked the program will continuously dial the number and the STOP the program when the calls answered, leaving the call active.
I learnt something tonight ... I didn't think the phone could tell the difference between an engaged tone and a voice path ... luckily it does!! The phone only reports a connected state when there's a two way speech path. This means that in Redailer mode, it'll keep dialing until the far end phone is answered.
The major update is I reworked the way the program stays awake by changing it from a simulated keypress to the 'SystemIdleTimerReset' method, eliminating the phone going mental IF the dialer was placed in the background (It used to keep pressing the button, even though it didn't have focus).
Install the CAB and the program will appear in Program Files.
**** V11 Update - Minor update ****
As requested by a few people on page 9, I've dropped the minimum dialing interval from 8 seconds to 1.
Cheers
Phil
PS It's also handy if you're are in the telecomms industry and have to do test calls, looking for a certain call scenario, like silent calls etc but it's much more fun to irritate your mates.
Please note .... it costs nothing to 'ring' a mobile or landline ... charges are only incurred if the far end answers, and if they do, the application stops and alerts the user the call was answered.
Developers with a sense of humour!
Any chance of having it have a contact picker control, I'm slightly too lazy to go through my contacts and remember numbers my self...
Thanks for this, and anyone on my contacts list better get ready!
I spend all week writing sensible stuff .... got to have a laugh occasionally... I've fired off hundreds of calls today.
Hopefully have a new version that'll allow you to either type a number or pick a contact tomorrow.
Cheers

lol great app, i like it keep it up
This app is surely one of the many interesting apps I have encountered, but while its uselful for your purpose. I could suggest to make it into a "redial" app? That redials any busy number and not necessarily a specified one? With options where it could pop up if a call dialled is not answered and check if one would want it redialed automatically after a specified/configurable time span? It could also have a Today screen plug-in. The only redial app available right now is the Free version at pocketmax.net but it doesn't have certain options. Just my suggestion.
very cool ap!!!
Minor update .... I missed out a 'null' event.
As for the redialer idea ... i'll have a look around the web to see if theres anything else out there that can do the job... I'm sure there must be.

PS .... the 3.2 update was I forgot to make it so it cant be used against me.... it now can't dial my number.
I've just updated the program to version 7, I've improved the 'Terminate dialing on answer' so it'll now automatically hang up instantly, before it would take about a second to hang up.
Cheers
Phil
Everytime I update the program I lose my download stats, it must be near 200 actual now ... so I'm going for the sneaky tactics to get a few more downloads!
I don't know if your tactic is working, cuz I can't get off of page to,to go dl it now. hehe
Thanks, For a cool program.. T M Z
Hi ... cheers for your comment.
Can you let us know if it works on your phone .... I've had 250 odd downloads but nobodies said if it works on their phone or not.

Ok...so for all of you who have been sending me PM's for the test build if its perfect or not. I shall post a small video to show you YES !! it is Mango Beta 1.
Download Link has been added at the bottom of the post
Couple of things to mention:-----
1) Its still Beta
2) The Marketplace doesn't work
3) HTC Hub doesn't come pre installed and also searching the marketplace
gives no results
4) Mango is said to support HTML5 but this build unfortunately doesn't as
shown us in the Mango HTML5 Speed Reading.
5) Nothing I can think of.....
By user: GameDr04
1) As with any unlocked phone, the APN isn't pre-programmed into the phone so it has to be added. It's a LITTLE annoying since T-Mobile has three from which to choose. All three show "3G" in the status bar but only one truly connects. It was epc.voicestream.com
2) Toggling the data radio causes the phone to freeze then reboot about 60% of the time.
3) As mentioned, the Marketplace doesn't work when you try to install something. But it does work for multimedia - I bought some music last night without issue.

Remember the fall release of Mango by Microsoft with more than 500 new features ??
backlashsid, I'd like to add to your list, if I may. I'm running Beta 2 on my HD2 at the moment. There are some additional problems.

4. .....there was something else and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was! If I do, I'll post it.
Overall, I LOVE MANGO! The groups feature is amazing. And messaging: above and beyond. The whole OS just seems snappier.

thanks for the tip !!! i shall add them to the first post !!
Oh! I remembered! I can't seem to get MMS to work - at all. The messaging service just says "Can't sent. Contact your service provider for settings". I've tried all of T-Mobile's published APNs but none of them works.
//edit
OK. I figured it out.
I had to DevUnlock my DFT Mango installation through Microsoft (not with Chevron but rather legitimately). Then, I could side-load HTC's Connection Setup XAP. Running that solved my data and MMS problems.
Also, the DevUnlock allowed me to upgrade from DFT's Beta 1 to MS's Beta 2.
Happy testing!

To attempt to clear up the confusion around the beta number...
It's a little bit of typo mixed in with my buried hopes and dreams.

That was the e-mail I got from Microsoft a few days ago. I read that as Beta 2... Then, when I got my hands on DFT's release, I assumed it was Beta 2. But now that I've actually LOOKED at the versioning, I realized that DFT's is older.
What kills me the most is I CAN'T FIND THAT E-MAIL ANYMORE! I have that one picture 'cause I sent it to a friend of mine but the e-mail itself is GONE.

Hi, thanks for the review.
I'm interested to know if there is such a feature on Mango that would let me insert quick replies in the middle of a particular sms thread or conversation? And if there is any way to edit or create "reply" templates...
Thanks, would appreciate your feedback
I just looked and I couldn't find one. There's a chance it could be in there but I just couldn't find it...
It seems like in the video multitouch issue is fixed? Or is it still buggy as in previous version (Nodo)?

Hello all!
Today I found the app "GotYa! face the thief" on XDA. I went ahead and bought the full app so I could test it (hopefully to report back to the community that it is working on the Atrix). I have good news, it works great! Even tho there is a warning about compatibly with Froyo devices, I experienced no problems in my 15min / 3pic / email test run. This is how the app works: Tell it how many times to allow an incorrect log in (if any) before the front facing camera takes a pic of the phone thief and emails it to you with the location of the phone. The email part is optional, the app itself will also alert you of a failed log in attempt once you have successfully unlocked your phone, showing you the picture(s) it took during the "breach". So basically you can even use it to see if a friend picks up your phone.
I tested the fingerprint lock. A failed finger print swipe itself does NOT count as a failed log in attempt, so keep that in mind. I have emailed the dev to ask if he can correct this, and I will update this post when I get a response from him. However, I think that is petty in comparison to the benefits of this app. Obviously any thief is going to try the pattern lock as soon as he sees his fingerprint is not unlocking your phone, and as soon as the pattern lock is failed - You have a pic of his face and location. In addition to these features there are other "SMS triggers" and such.. On the Atrix choose "EXIF rotation - 90". The app is $1.99.
So enjoy this app, I have been waiting a while for something like this and I am sure several of you have too!

Looks like a good app. Purchased the full version and will test out!

Very neat app. Set it up and it's working good with WidgetLocker. Gonna test it a bit more just to be on the safe side though.
I bought it, and after 5 minutes of setting up I tested. Received an email with picture and location within 1 minute of failed logon attempts. Works perfectly!
Location request SMS doesn't appear to work, but I have to check my settings for that.
Yep, looks like it works as advertised. Pretty awesome that it not only sends the location info but snaps a picture of any limey bastards that try to jack our phones!!
I almost want someone to steal mine now lol

I like it as well.... however I would like it a lot more if you could set a password to unlock the actual program on case they do somehow gain access to the phone. This app is nice!

I thought that'd be good as well. I'm just going to hide it from my app drawer.
This would be a good recommendation to the dev. Or perhaps having another way of loading the app through certain key presses or a hidden shortcut, etc.
as far as i've seen the FP scanner is closed hardware and not open to developers yet.
I just bought the app too now.
Anyone else have any issues configuring the email alerts? (I already emailed the dev about it, he will look into it.)

I have had no issues with receiving emails. In fact you can end up receiving too many. I was getting one every time I unlocked! LOL

Wasn't on failed login. I got a "homescreen accessed" email every time I unlocked.
I appreciate the updates, very helpful!
Regarding too many emails, glad the thresh hold is there. But I almost thought it'd be worth it to create a security email address solely for this program. Email space is nearly infinite and I'd rather get extra emails as opposed to compromised security.
Works great though! Love this program.
If the thief has any brains all he had to do is hard wipe the phone...lol

Just tried the remote sms commands. They all seem to work here. (stock 1.8.3, using handcdent FWIW)
After Gingerbread install when I get a text message from one of my contacts (some work fine) I cannot reply, the sender isn't listed and this is displayed in the reply box (which is greyed out):
"A valid address is required to send this message."
????
Thanks
There seem to be no solution for this.
A valid address is required to send this message
I bought an Atrix 4G on 9-1-2011 from AT&T store Jacksonville, FL. Began receiving this message on ONE (1) text ... whenever I get a text from this one user in IL, I cannot reply as no reply info is available in the data packet.
ALL other texts, so far, have the reply info and I can reply & they can reply to my texts.
AT&T Customer Service was NO help ... most of the CSR-s had no idea what this message was about and even the Tech Support had no idea.
We did these things:
* deleted all text chains
* deleted the contact completely
* reset the phone to factory specs
* imported all contacts except the offending contact
* manually re-entered the contact
NO good - still got the message
As of 9/14/2011, AT&T gave me a new phone thinking maybe a hardware error.
NOPE. Still has the error.
Now convinced error is in the 2.3.4 operating system so must wait on the "highly responsive" Google crowd to fix it. Not holding my breath. Despite what a bunch of folks say, I think the Apple i4 and soon to be i5 phones are the better choice --- Google is scrambling to keep up with Apple & over time will fail for more glitches than Apple.
If anyone has a fix for this condition, please let me know.
Everyone have a great day.

Those are some bold words for your first post on a forum for discussing an Android phone. I like how you state your end conclusion without any kind of logical thought patterns. I do however agree with you that the Apple phone is prob the best choice for YOU. And btw I use Android & iOS and wouldnt give up either.
Edit: for the lulz..

One of the Rom kernel combos I tried fixed this but not the one I am on currently. (and I don't remember which one) The contact where this is a problem has an older phone.
It is a little bit of a nuisance but not nearly enough to turn me into an apple fanboy My daughter has a 4g and I have no use for that phone....

* deleted all text chains
* deleted the contact completely
* reset the phone to factory specs
* imported all contacts except the offending contact
* manually re-entered the contact

Amazing - I ask a simple questiion at the end - and get a sarcastic response from a senior member of the thread. BTW - I DID contact Google after posting, and their reply was it is a known bug but not worth immediate fix - perhaps in a future release. Go Android !!! Hey - I bought long term options on BOTH Google and Apple ... it's just a phone, not my life. And I have made quite a bit of money from BOTH companies to enjoy my life better - which I am doing. Suggest you try it too.
It might be that you need an area code. Call me crazy but I think this happened to me way back, and the way I resolved it was adding an area code to make it a 10 digit number.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I tried the area code and even a 1 before the number but it didn't work for me.
I wonder if this new free cloud messaging app will fix it:

I don't think these type of apps are useful to me because i don't really need to block anyone from calling or text-ing. I just ignored them, if I want to block them there is an option in the phone let me block or call ATT to block call/message.
Thanks anyway.

Firstly, that was hilarious.
Ive been called a lot of names on this forum. But my mojo speaks for itself.
After upgrading to last version (beta 34), in the logs does not appear the name of the caller but the name of the group from which it's part of.
To exemplify: got one contact named Adam that's part of group Silent. The setup and profiles in Call Manager are such made to silence calls and block SMS from all contacts in the group Silent. Till now, when a call or SMS came from one of those contacts, in the application's log I could see the name of the person (say Adam) someting like "Adam (phone number) text". After upgrading to latest beta, instead of the contact name I see in the logs the group name...so the same SMS as before now appears in logs as "Silent (phone number) text"
Don't know if it is made by purpose or it's a bug, but it'll be usefull to se the actual contact name in the logs not the group from which belongs. Unfortunately I cannot revert to previous version
Great app, by the way, I'm looking forward to see the final version.
Later edit: Sorry, just saw that this is not the application's general thread, but one specific. I'll post in the appropiate one too
Anything to report?
Dude. All i am gonna say is iove your app.I Use the free version with all of my roms . (frequent flasher ) you did a great job, and have helped me tremendously at keeps those Bill collectors at bay. That being said...... I just can't justify to myself, let alone the wife and kid, paying $10 for an app. Thank you for the free version though. like i said. I use every day.
Edit ....seeing market that unlock key has gone down. Disregard above the $10'comment . Might be able to sneak $5 in on next att Bill lol

Right dude. Maybe you can skip your next coffee and instead buy this app which saves you from bill collectors.

Thank you! Very pleasure for me! I plan to develop new features for this app in further updates.
This looks very nice, but I have a general question. What is the advantage of using a phone dialer on an Android Wear watch? Since there's no speaker, so you can't have a phone conversation on the watch and would have to dig out your phone anyway. I guess you could dial a call and talk on your Bluetooth headset, but I use voice dialing for that.

Thanks
Good question. I wrote it to use with Bluetooth headset because voice dialing does not work cleanly for me for some reason (often call a wrong number). Also I don't like persuade my phone to make a call in a public place with my voice. I want simple choose a contact from the list When the phone is hidden under outer clothing (winter) or in a bag it's very convenient to make call with watch (as for me).

Ah, that makes good sense, thanks! I also have some contacts and businesses that voice dialing doesn't work well for. I just bought it and here's the link, in case others are having trouble finding it: Mod Edit: link removed

Thank you! :good:
So far so good! Any chance you could add a way to distinguish which number is which for contacts with multiple numbers? Just H, M, and W for home, mobile, and work would be fine.

You did it man, many thanks! I haven't played with it much yet, but it seems that if I click on a contact and then swipe it away, it goes back to the beginning of the list instead of where I was in the scroll. In other words, if I look at a Smith and swipe it away, I'm back at Adams instead of Smith. I don't know if that can be fixed or not. Overall, it's great!

You're welcome, that was not too hard Thanks again!
I'll try to solve the problem with return to contacts list as soon as possible, actually I'm already thinking about it because it annoys me too)
Nice look! Purchased! One thing to note, I don't seem to be able to sync the call log from my Motorola Droid Turbo to my Moto 360. The colored wheel just spins. I even cleared my call log but no change. Still, a nice looking app!

Thanks for purchase and sorry for bug! I'll try to reproduce it and fix as soon as possible!
It seems this bug is reproduced rarely (on my device) when you come to the call log activity or to the contacts/favs activity for the first time. I'm working on this watch->phone connectivity issue now. I hope to solve it at next weekend.
A minor update will be available tomorrow which is mostly dedicated to tablets support.

I've noticed that myself from time to time. Sometimes when I first start the app, none of the buttons respond. If I close and reopen they work fine. Maybe it's just a delay pulling the data from the phone.

Yes, exactly. This is due to Bluetooth slow speed + sometimes reconnection between the watch and the phone. When a reconnection occurs it seems I may loose data so you need to reopen activity. But I hope to fix it soon.
PS It's late night here so I'm going sleep right now, bye
With this app, i can speak trought my wear device during a call?
