Id like it to turn off when I connect as it used to.
What have I done ans how do i get it back.. I dont have the items in my registry that they call out to make it where it will no longer turn off.
Need help on this one.
Thanks
No On e else has this issue?
If you work out what you did to make it stay on - please let me know! I have tried everything to no avail. I find it really annoying to have the screen go off. (I use the diamond dialler with the curtain so keeping it on is not a problem)
I have this problem as well. Now when I make/receive a call, my phone's display stays on. When I first got it, the display would shut off.
I did not knowingly do anything to change this, but I did install some software. I installed SPB Mobile Shell yesterday, and after that is when I noticed that it was staying on.
Actually, now that I think of it, I remember it staying on Wednesday too. So I must have installed something else that caused this.
I only notice this wen the phone is plugged in
<characteristic type="HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL" translation="filesystem">
<parm name="EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall" datatype="integer" value="0"/>
</characteristic>
to keep it on
or value="1" to turn it off
tried that but didn't work for me.
thanks anyway.
Is this a Sprint phone?
Yes its sprint,
Mine does not have:
translation="filesystem">
<parm name="EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall" datatype="integer" value="0"/>
</characteristic>
closest thing to that in the reg is enablegoodapsystem.. in RIL
i wish my phone would stay awake after connecting on a call... due to the s2a w/curtain i can't seem to get it to stop going to sleep!
I just hate opening apps and hanging up on people after I anwer the phone then my face starts mashing buttons.
Well I just added that name to RIL, as a Decimal and 0 as data value, that didnt work,
Now what?
If I go to edit the binary data, its all 00 00 00 00. what should it be?
have you guys tried diamond tweak?
there are 2 options to have the phone sleep that can be set in there
I guess whats the link and what does it do?
search is your friend
*i'm feeling generous today - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540
i highly suggest you try searching, there's ALOOOOT of info covered on this site. you just gotta find it
Thanks, I did search but didnt see this.
Not sure I want all of this.
you can always uninstall it, goodluck w/whatever you do
Thanks,
Loaded it and that didnt work for the fastdormant for calls, it has a few neat little tweaks, but most dont work on the Touch Pro, seems to slow things down and stall incomming rings, so it will be wiped off.
Thanks though.
Any other solutions?
Can I just add those values into the registry?
I noticed it created all of those values in the registry, but with everything enabled it still didnt do any of the things it was supposed to, fastsleep mute facedown etc. the only thing it did is screw up any text boxes in landscape mode and make the phone dialer vibe when touched (kinda cool) so I removed the program and it left all the issues it created, I have to restore back to an old back up.
Omg. Just press the power button when the call connects, it is NOT that serious.

Ok, I'm hoping someone may have some idea why this error is plaguing me.
After a hard-reset, the following behavior is observed on the T-mobile 3.14 rom.
1. Set Ringer (or leave at default) to anything.
2. Hit Ok.
3. Change volume to either Off or Vibrate.
4. Go back to phone options - ringer is now set to "BellDitty".
Odd thing is that when volume is restored, the phone doesn't play anything when an incomming call is received - not even the listed "BellDitty".
Anyone know what the problem is? How to work around it? Is the ringer just set in the registry? If it is, then it could just be a case of writing a program to restore the ringer ever 2 sec. or so.
Hope you guys can help - a phone that fails to ring is a misbehaving in my book.
Thanks.
Fixed!!!
After doing some hunting, here is what I found. If you guys have some spare time, try doing this to your phones and see if you have the same oddball results. From what I found:
When the Pocket PC is put into Mute, a key in the registry (HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0) named Sound is set to *none* or *vibrate* depending on what you mute to. There is another key in that branch named “SavedSound”, which has the ringer you setup in Phone options. Now, as long as you don’t go into Phone options and hit “Ok” while the phone is muted, the registry keys work just fine – as soon as you unmute, the value of “Sound” gets set to whatever “SavedSound” is. HOWEVER – if you do go into phone options and hit OK, it confuses PPC 2002. It writes the new sound to the “Sound” key, however it never cleans up after itself in the same way it would if you unmated. Now when you unmute, it looks to the Sound key to see if it says *none* or *vibrate* so it knows to re-enable the ringtone. When it finds the saved value from the phone applet (that you hit “OK” to) it assumes that the phone was unmuted, even though it wasn’t.

Well researched !
[ I've had this thought more often: do we have a Microsoft representative in the room here? If not, I guess we need to have some protocol for reporting issues from our collective brain back to the developers. (But ofcourse MS really needs to be here and read the forum if they're serious about making this a real phone.) ]
no matter what technique i use my phone still wakes on new sms. ive tried editing the registry, used diamond_tf3d_config, used advanced configuration tool, diamond tweaks... none helped. has anyone else, using a sprint touchpro, been able to solve this problem? i've also reset my phone to stock just in case it was a program i installed that was causing it....HELP! thanks
all the tweaks to disable it were designed for the gsm raphael and do not work on the cdma versions. you should check out s2u2 or touchlockpro
o ok thanks, was getting tired of trying everything to no avail....... thanks man saves me some headaches... by the way slide2unlock2 still wakes up, you just get the slide2unlock2 screen... still annoying to hear screen taps in your pocket when you get text messages, plus it wastes battery life.....
you can set s2u2u to turn back off in 5 seconds. that will leave you with less chance of clicks, or touchlockpro csn be used as it said. it keeps both the screen and buttons disabled so no clicks are possible.
I have a Verizon 6800 (Titan) but am now on Sprint with a Touch Pro. I would like to turn the old titan into a fancy bedside chumby-type device, and since apparently Verizon phones can't run on Sprint's network (as a backup), I'd like to delete all my ESN data off it and disable the phone capabilities entirely if possible. I know I can just put it in Flight mode, but I'd like it so it doesn't attempt to authenticate with my information in the event it accidentally goes back into phone mode.
Is there any software that can do this?
Also, is there any way to run the phone with no battery while plugged in? If I try to plug it in with no battery I get a red light and it won't turn on. It's not really a big deal, but I have paranoia of the phone battery randomly exploding while I'm not there after being trickle charged for months.
Thanks!
I don't know about deleting ESN data, and as you said, turning the phone part off is already the most you can do. You could open up EPST and delete all data in there, so that it has no network to register to. And no, this phone is incapable of running directly off of AC power.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can't seem to run EPST. I just flashed dcd 4.1.2 and whenever I run EPST from the windows dir it immediately exits. I have tried turning the phone on and off and soft resetting.
Look for a software called CDMA Workshop with it you can edit and change all of the settings but first of all you have to be sure that you have super CID ed the phone and its totally unlocked before u can really edit it.
You can change the ESN with QPST I believe
Just change it to a bunch of 0's or delete it completely

This process does not work with the Mogul/Titan/PPC-6800

Hi, A bit of a Noob and I've broken it some how! I've changed a setting to do with owner info and the lock screen because when the screen locks I move the slider and it sticks in whichever direction and doesn't unlock phone. The button doesn't freeze at all though and occasionally I see "owner information" on the titlebar. The only way I can access home screen etc is by soft resetting, hitting start as soon as it appears and then flicking slider........ I did see a setting on here to display owner info on lock screen somewhere and I think this is what I've changed but I can't find it now. Please help...
This strang thing happend to me to today. For now i havent found the cause nor a sollution. For now I just pull the battery out and reboot it .. Then it works well for a few times but when i lay it to rest and try to unlock it... it wont work again.

Even after pulling battery mine is still the same. I'm sure it's my fault but I can't find the post on here which I read. I'm sure it was a tweak to show owner info on boot up and when flicking off screen lock and I thought, "lets see what that looks like" Wish I hadn't now! It looks like I'm going for a hard reset if I can't find a solution, unfortunately my next task was to put a backup package on it! D'oh!!!
It happened to me a week ago... It depends on the personal information flag. I solved in this way: 1 reset the phone so you can access the settings of the phone, 2 unset "show personal info on start" flag (or something like this) now it should work. Please if someone knows how to show the personal info avoiding this bug let us know....

It worked!!! Thank you very much. I've made so many adjustments lately I just couldn't remember. I'm now gonna back it up!!
For future reference, if you get stuck at the lock screen but your phone does start up properly, you can use SOTI Pocket controller to change pretty much anything on your phone through USB.
happened to me too, heres a funny story.
i leave my phone on my desk thinking it was locked (i did press the hang up botton and the screen turned off) suddenly i can hear the tone as its calling someone, it rings 4-5 times untill i grab it and pull it out of the sleeve, it was the girl i went out with a day earlier, now she thinks im a psycho.
thanks HTC!!!
Ok the problem could be your Twitter.com setings if you use Twitter.
Thanks to Sir Sternas of Artemis ROMS, just found it out. After disabling Twitter the problem didnt occured anymore.
Now its just to find out if the webservice or the twitterclient causes the problem.
Hi Guys,
Somehow I seem to have turned on a feature which reads out the number of the person sending me a text message. This happens when my phone is on silent too. Which is begining to annoy me, especially when I am at work. Have had a look through settings for SMS but can't see the option to turn it on or disable it. Does anyone know how I can switch it off?
Thanks.

I have not seen any Settings like this in my Mobile for now.If you are sure you changed some settings and than it started reading out numbers use factory default settings it might Help but before doing that wait for some time some other members might know how to stop it.If you have not Received any answer about this than use factory default settings.
The thing is I don't remember changing any settings for this at all. It's not something I wanted to have switched on. I'm reluctant to do a factory reset as I have my phone setup just perfectly at the moment.
Hit the home button twice to get the voice launcher up, turn off "driving mode"
Job done.
Thanks for that. Although I managed to resolve it another way. Went into Settings - voice input and output and de-selected Driving mode.
Your way is a lot quicker though. One for the books.
No worries, took me 48 hours to figure it out for myself the first time.
