Tweak - HTC Oxygen

I have found a nice tweak to add to the registry.
This will enable scrolling through the entire start menu in stead of having to click on the More button all the time.
You need a registry editor (RegeditSTG for example), then add the following value (DWord):
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell RockerSupport = 1
Makes the phone a lot more usefull imo.
Anybody else have some usefull tweaks?

I mean in place of just minimizing the task manager to the tray when you close it [by pressing the close button]. An option to close it without minimized to the tray.
I know you can close by going to options.
This is a suggestion .no big deal.

It was the case in the past, but a lot of people preferred to have the TM minimized. Another possibility is to install a close feature like Spb PocketPlus, Wisbar, MagicButton, which allow you to really close an app when you click on the close button.
Cheers,

maybe he mean that he want your task manager to handle the closing of other applications when they are minimized
like pocket plus and the rest does
and not close your task manager when he minimize it ?
Hi Dotfred,
I found a little bug in V.2.1. When I export a key from the registry (in this case a DWORD) the hex value is written into the .reg file. But when I import the .reg file the value is read as a dec value.
Wolfgang
Btw, thanks for tis really great app.

What I can do, is let the user have the choice from the options dialog.
So either having the "Minimize" soft key and "Exit" in the menu, or having the "Exit" soft key, and "Minimize" in the menu.
What do you think?

I can get the exe file anywhere and execute it from here but was wondering if it comes with an icon and can be part of program files. Many thanks once again for a wonderful program..JD76
Is there a way to start this application minimized? is there a tag I can add to the shortcut to do this?

Bro, i tried to convert the original cab into reg den removed the setup.dll and reinsert the reg into it.
Overall i think the problem lies with the setup.dll as they tried to protect and in force securities into the installation cab which causes the compatibilities issue with our atom.
The issues why it affects our atom i guess is due to the certmod.dll in our atom which Jiggs told me that it cant be disabled or hacked in our atom
So lets hope Jiggs managed to solve this which will most likely solve the installation issue with many Appz.
If anyone have programming background and know how to extract the info from setup.dll please let us know. I really think a bit of altering will let it work properly in our atom.
And if anyone had other device which can install PocketPlus, do extract the reg info and let me see. Maybe i can try to manually insert those reg entries and see if it will works on our atom
THank!!
Have been using it.It's great.Smart scrolling function is there but cant configure it to set contacts or other programmes to scroll.Same goes to close button where although it does really close pro grammes but the option tab does not seem to appear on the task bar
Hi
I installed and configured everything from the scratch and it is working great. I have not tried to use the closed button function.
This version is more flexible and faster that the previous ones.
unable to install trial version from SPB.. its always unsuccessfull?..
I have it working well on WM5, which reg keys etc are needed?
Issues...
The today plugin works after setting a few options in the control panel.
The close button and battery meter didn't work.
I was able to get them to work by going setting the PocketPlus service to start automatically. I used MemMaid to do this. Just go to startup items, use the dropdown at the top to select "Startup Services." On mine it was the first entry. Set it to auto and now things seem to be working.
Smart scrolling isn't working. I think it is because there are no applications defined for it.

Can you please backup your settings and post the file here? Smart Scrolling isn't working for me. I think it is because there are no applications defined. Hopefully if you backup your settings I can restore them and then have the default apps working for smart scrolling.

Enable Smart Scrolling for Resco File Explorer
Here's the registry to enable Smart Scrolling for Resco File Explorer. Please rename Smart Scrolling - Resco File Explorer.txt to Smart Scrolling - Resco File Explorer.reg. Copy to your PPC and run it. To experiment with this feature, open a registry application:
1. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House\Pocket Plus\11\Applications
2. Create a new key. Name it after the application executable file's name you wish to enable the Smart Scrolling on
3. Browse into the new key
4. Create a DWORD. Name it "Enabled" and set the value to 1
5. Create a String. Name it "UserName" and set it to the application's name
6. Create a Multiple Line String. Name it "WindowClasses". This is the one we need to experiment on. The value is the name of the Windows Class which we want to scroll. I do not have any program to detect this. In Windows, a program like Spy++ can be used, but in PPC, I do not know

is a multiple line string value
such value is identical to SysListView32
Don't worry about it.
It looks like this (hex) when being exported.
However, I tried to copy and paste the registry from the above message, it has problem in creating the key WindowClasses.
You might first export another existing entry, e.g. fexplore.exe, and then modify the key name to the exe filename,
and also the UserName (as the name appears in the list), save it and import. should be safe and easy enough.
The most easiest way is first use a registry editor, create the exe entry, e.g. "Explorer.exe",
copy contents in other entry and paste to it, make minor modifications.
To make the changes effective, need to disable and then enable the smart scrolling.
The Smart Scrolling does not work

Edit widescreen-menu

hey guys,
does someone of you know how to edit the widescreen-menu (the menu which appears if you pull out the keyboard => http://www.areadvd.de/images/2008/IFA%202008%20Mobilphones/downsampeled/HTC_S740.jpg).
It would be great if it is possible to add links to other programms like MS OneNote mobile.
thank you,
D4P5
Note sure if you can edit it. But I've done a quick look around the registry and found a few things under: HKLM\Software\HTC\ActionMenu
No real time to try out what it does though, and I disabled it anyway!

[MOD]SASHIMI - regexport the values YOU want

I recently started to use SASHIMI heavily to customize my HD after a ROM flash. Congrats and credits to bengalih who did an awesome job.
One option i really missed in SASHIMI is to be able to specify specific values for custom registry export, so i decided to modify the script to my needs. From what i've read in various threads/forums other people wants to do the same, so i'll share it here for everyone who wants to try.
The mod allows additional parameters in REGEXPORT.INI:
key1=<yourkeypath1>
key2=<yourkeypath2>,<value1>,<value2>,<value3>, ... ,<valueN>
key3=<yourkeypath3>,*
key1 is the traditional way of exporting registry keys as its already implemented. It exports this key including all values/subkeys.
key2 specifies a key, plus the value names you want to export (value1-valueN). Value names are CASE SENSITIVE (!), if they dont match you end up with an empty key.
key3 specifies a key, plus ALL values, but WITHOUT subkeys.
WARNING: DO NOT mix filtered (like in key2, key3 examples) and unfiltered keys (key1) in the same section, as this will lead to missing values. If you need to do this, split them into separate sections.
examples from my own usage:
[Opera vibration]
RegExportDirMode=Auto
key1=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Defaults,VibrationEnabled
[power+backlight settings]
RegExportDirMode=Auto
key1=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts,BattSuspendTimeout,BattSuspendTimeoutSave,ACSuspendTimeout,ACSuspendTimeoutSave
key2=HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight,BatteryTimeout,BatteryTimeoutUnchecked,ACTimeoutUnchecked
If you want to give it a shot here are the downloads:
CustomRegistryExport.txt
SASHIMI.mscr
Nice mod, m'lady!
I hope bengalih will consider it for future SASHIMI versions
Great job!
Very Very helpfull!
Thanks a'lot!
well... just tried this (kept a backup of the original mscr). The only key it exported was key9. It took what felt like 5min to get past the "mysettings.............." line.
Code:
[MySettings]
RegExportDirMode=Auto
key1=HKLM\Ident
key2=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Clock
key3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Vmail\UserProvidedNumber1
key4=HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications
key5=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Devices
key6=HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts
key7=HKCU\Software\HTC\People\OwnerInfo
key8=HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration
key9=HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila,Weather.CityList,Weather.ServerURLOverride,Locale,Weather_Focus,Weather.Fahrenheit,Weather.PostRunFirst
key10=HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1
key11=HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager
key12=HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
And Generated this .reg file
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\]
"Weather.CityList"="37384,30914,31106,30824"
"Weather.ServerURLOverride"="http://weather.conflipper.com/htcweather/weathertranslate.php?ac=CONFLIPPER&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation"
"Locale"="en-US"
"Weather_Focus"="United States"
"Weather.Fahrenheit"=dword:00000001
Notepad shows that all on 1 line w/ carriage returns as open squares.
Sashimi.mscr is in the BIN folder along w/ the .txt file. The weather entries are the main reason I need this mod. I think I did everything right, but looks like I missed something.

Hello ProfEngr,
I'am exporting a lot of keys with Dotfreds taskmanager.... with a simple text editor I place all of them in 1 Reg file..... and afterwards I import only 1 reg file with all the keys in it ...

I do that with normal SASHIMI too. I setup several registry settings in a text ini file, mysettings1 for registrations and program setup, mysettings2 for CHome setup like weather, used icons, launchers shortcuts etc, mysettings3 for device setup like email, ISP, bluetooth, advanced config etc and so on. So i can restore everything after a hard reset or flash, or only one set of registry at any time. From time to time i do a custom backup of the current registry.

I'll look after that sometime next week
any luck squashing that bug?
I'm currently testing the changes. Looking good so far. If they turn out ok i'll publish them tomorrow.
I tested the changes and they work great, however it takes ages to process a fair amount of regitems.
I wont publish this as its practically unusable. The reason is that i adapted the script to filter out unwanted regentries, which is slow by design. The better way would be to write a filter in C++ or .net and call it from Sashimi.
My advice is this: split the settings in two or more sections, and dont mix regkeys that need filtering with the ones that dont.
For your example this would look like this:
Code:
[MySettings1]
RegExportDirMode=Auto
key1=HKLM\Ident
key2=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Clock
key3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Vmail\UserProvidedNumber1
key4=HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications
key5=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Devices
key6=HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts
key7=HKCU\Software\HTC\People\OwnerInfo
key8=HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration
key10=HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1
key11=HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager
key12=HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
[MySettings2]
key9=HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila,Weather.CityList,Weather.ServerURLOverride,Locale,Weather_Focus,Weather.Fahrenheit,Weather.PostRunFirst
Or - and thats the way i prefer - split it into functional portions, one section per key. If you need to troubleshoot something its way easier to handle small bits instead of one megaload of settings.
I added a warning to the first post to make that clear.
Works, but wow - slow
I got it to work, creating two ouput files (allmyregistryneedsnotfiltered.REG & allmyregistryneedsyesfiltered.REG). Output was about 2500 lines and 250 lines respectively. The non-filtered 2500 lines ran in the blink of an eye. The filtered 250 lines took about 40 minutes. It seems to have worked perfectly, but wow, what a time investment.
