Just a Thank You - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

Greetings,
I have just flashed my first ROM on my 4 week old ATT Fuze. I am excited at how easy it was to do and look forward to playing with different ROMS.
So, from someone who is about to waste a good bit of time fiddling with my phone, I just wanted to say thank you to all the talent assembeled here that makes this so easy.
I love this stuff.

Opinions on SSK ROM

My Verizon Touch Pro comes on monday. First thing i'm doing is flashing it. I'd like to get some opinions on the best ROM's at the moment to start with.
Thanks
ssk
Hands down it's the best out there.... especially with the kitchen bc you can customize it to your liking instead of only having what someone else decided to cook up for you...
sounds good, now just so I don't get lost, I'm kinda new to this. What's the difference between a ROM that's been cooked and then one that has a kitchen. Is it the fact that the entire ROM is customizable?

A cooked rom comes pre-built - you just flash and away you go
A Kitchen is a small program which lets you customize what you want, then create the ROM files automatically - then flash.
The Kitchen is more hands on.
I actually am using mighty rom 4.16 (Flashed a few others, but keeps going back to mighty mike).
SSK is good!
When my girlfriend got her Touch Pro the stock TELUS rom was horrible! Crummy performance, crashed often.. minor glitches.
I'm a fan of cooking a completely custom ROM but SSK really worked in a pinch. She's been using it two months steady with no complaints.
I tried JD's, Juicy, and mighty.......but im staying with the SSK rom now. Its perfect for me and my VZW. you will love it. Mighty was cool.....but i had to do all this customization to get it about how i wanted it, and then it was buggy. SSK was flash and go for me. I just added my own theme, apps, and did an active sync.
Just got my TP (VZW) on Friday. i loaded SKK It works seamlessly. SKK and POINTUI is the way to go
thanks guys, i really look forward to being an active member here

I've been flashing every build SSK puts out for the last couple months, and have enjoyed every one of them. When I was first learning how to use the kitchen, I wrote up extensive documentation on how to do it. My .doc file is a little to large to attach here, so let me know if you would like it via PM.
I for one, would love the document. If you get a chance, I would appreciate you sending it. Thanks.

impudent as the bomb! His docs are pretty damn good. I reviewed them myself and thought they were accurately accurate ;c)
Check out Scott's new website with forum for all of your SSK needs!!
http://www.sskusers.com/
For those who Don't know, Scrosler has released a ROM from his his newly formed kitchen SSK 2.0. After 4 days of being posted, no bug reports are coming in. The full Kitchen will be released very shortly. Check in on him at
http://www.sskusers.net
Scott is realeasing ROMS and Kitchens for the Sprint Diamond as well. Documentation can be found at that site.

I would definitely suggest using SPB Mobile Shell 3. I've never been a fan of SPB things, but MS3 has made terrific improvements to its Shell, and now I can't go back to anything else. Hands down the fastest and most convenient Shell out there.
Try it out, and temporarily disable POINTUI Home first beforehand. You will love it!
This ROM, any from the SSK line up, will sadly leave you wanting for more...
More ROMS! Because they are the best with the fewest problems. It will make a huge difference to your phone. You will sit up at night, staring at your computer hoping Scott will put a new one up without warning. Then you will stay up all night downloading and flashing. It will affect your marriage and your job. But you won't care beacuse now your phone will amaze you.
Do it. Do it now. Do not wait. Flash a ROM or build one in a kitchen, you will never regret it.
I wanted to just flash something fast and bug free and be done with flashing (after 6+ months of constant flashing). Happy to say that SSK HD 6.1 did the trick. Great battery life comparted to other HD 6.1's I had tried as well.
SSK Rules
The newest SSK ROM out is awesome. For those of you that don't know whick one, it is SSK 2.1.1. He has WM6.1 and WM6.5 both available with a premade ROM or a kitchen.
IDK if its a problem in the build or just with manala but the weather tab has some issues. when i try to add my town, i go to the state, then try to scroll to the town and all it shows is the first few cities of the a's and when you try to scrool it goes strait to the end of the z's. so it might be better to install just a rom without manila and load that on your own.
So... maybe its just been a long day but does anyone know if sskusers.net not work anymore? It keeps taking me to godaddy. wtf? And I cant seem to find any links that will take me to download the 6.5 Roms... Can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks.
I saw some posts on ppcgeeks that mentioned that Scott was taking the site offline and would not be doing further development work on his ROMs. I'm on his Touch Pro 6.5, it really works well and I'll stay with this one until I buy a Windows Phone 7 (as long as it has GPS and can run a few select apps I'm using now) at the end of the year.

What is your recommendation for ROM and why you like it?

Hey all, well I been around for a bit and have been reading and never really posted for the fear of getting the Fire of using the "Search Function". So I read my way through the handsets I have had. I worked my way from the Cingular 8525 to the AT&T Tilt 8925 and pretty soon I should be getting my hands on a Fuze as the Moto I have been using is acting a fool.
So here's what I want to find out and please don't throw the fire at me. When I had my Tilt I had tkalli; thanks Ted; who recommended the HD ROMs and I worked my way from there. I would like to know what ROMs you would recommend and use and why any thoughts and opinions would never go read since I am very willing to learn. Thank you all.
Opinions vary from user to user. Try them all and see which you like most.

Hey there wildcard, nice to hear your picking up a fuze! I've been running the Energy 2.0 series ROM since they are very cutting edge and the chef (NRGZ28) releases a new ROM almost daily which fulfills my flashing needs.
Really I've tried most all the ROM's here (nothing with WinMo 6.5 though) and must say that we are lucky to have such wonderful chefs as there are soooo many great ROM's to choose from.

[Q] noob question

Hello everyone,
I haven't visited this site in a long time now, it's been since my G1 days actually.
After buying my vibrant I decided I didn't have a need to root because there wasn't anything I felt like I was missing or needed at the moment. I, like all who didn't root, was waiting for the official 2.2 ota. Now that I know it's not coming I decided to finally root. I was really surprised at how easy you guys have made it now. Kudos people... I just would like to ask for some opinions though...
I can't decide on what rom to use. I really don't have a ton of time to invest in my phone atm so I really just want the most stable thing out right now. I really do like the look and feel of Touch Wiz but I'm not married to it. Basically I really just would like to know the safest way for me to go.. something with no bugs, I don't wanna mess with overclocking, I would like to keep TW... Any help would greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!

You ask 5 ppl might get 5 answers try here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929329
I personally like bionix v, but it is a gingerbread feel not TW.
Thanks for the replies guys. I was pretty much expecting those answers actually =)
I was actually leaning towards Bionix v. Isn't there a touch wiz and GB version? Also, are there any bugs I should know about with it? Sounds like it is kinda solid but just wanna make sure I don't DL it and find my earphones don't work or some weird crap like that.
thanks again
I've tried every rom out, and Flagship V3 has been the most stable/fastest... for me. All of the froyo roms are stable and very nice though. Just depends on what you want.
Perhaps you can explain what you want for a better response.
ie, I would donkey-punch the TW launcher.... it's pointless to me.

Saying Thanks

Just want to say thanks to all the devs for making me love my Eris again was about to throw it out a window till I found XDA. I've gone through a couple of roms so far and love tazzginger the best so far. Will be donating later this week thanks for everything. Also would of posted in tazzs thread but this is my first post
Sent from my Ginger Tazz using XDA App
I second this post. Since I bought my Eris last May, I've really grown to love Android and the features that are tied in with so many of Google's services. That being said, I was starting to get a little tired of looking at the same-old, same-old HTC Sense and frustrated that Verizon discontinued the phone 2 months after I bought it and HTC stopped updating us after a wildly-delayed 2.1.
As the Verizon iPhone launch grew closer, even though I had no desire to leave Android, I was starting to get a little iLust in me. That's when I knew it was time to renew my commitment to the loveable little Droid, but to do so, I would have to turn to the mod community for help.
So about a month ago, I nervously flashed my first ROM, Nonseniskal v16.1. After a few weeks, I found and flashed GSB. It continually amazes me how this community works endlessly to keep bringing the newest Android OSes and new features to a device that everyone else has long counted out of the game.
The people of XDA and the rest of the Android mod community is what Android is really all about. Thank you all.
Welcome to rooting and the forum, both of you!
Thanks to all devs. i had eris for more then a year never rooted till like last week im running GSB v1.9 and wow its a whole new phone this will hold me over till november upgrade thanks again xda and devs
Hiyas!
Gonna jump aboard this thread. I am a carbon copy of the comments above.
I have had my ERIS from nearly the day it hit the main stream Verizon market. As my wife and children began to catch and pass me with all the new gear I still loved my phone. It's the Right Stuff! Slim, not to big or little, trackball for easy use and amazingly it's an excellent phone. I've had a few. AT 62 I had the first ones, the big "Brick"s".
Not like a lot of "old folks" I love this stuff. I'm a gamer and build my own rigs. As my ERIS was being left for dead I started to read here and other forums on rooting. A month ago it started. Once rooted, I began changing ROMs like my socks eventually settling on the KAOSFroyo but with GO Launcher EX which I believe to be the best of the best.
Last night was Gingerbread (Go Launcher EX) I love it! This is truly the "Little Phone That Could".
Thanks Devs, the support folks, and all the informational posters here. I am not in any hurry to replace the ERIS....it fits me
Regards and Thanks,
Dennis
I am also saying thanks! You guys are awesome and inspiring!!!
I would also like to chime and say thanks to zach.xtr! xtrSense has been on my Eris since the day I rooted, and I haven't even had the urge to try another ROM. I'll be flashing 5.0 tonight - really excited that the 50% without signal bug is fixed! I can now turn my phone on/off without doing the airplane mode trick!

See you later, but not good bye

I upgraded to the LTE Galaxy Nexus today and I wanted to thank all of the devs for keeping my little Eris chugging along I will not forsake this forum and will continue to flash ROMs (especially ICS ROMs) on my Eris. And I also wanted to thank all of the nice people here in the forum, you guys rock :3
Congrats on the purchase. I too upgraded to the GNEX and after playing with it for a bit Im confident this and the one I got for my girlfriend as well will serve us well for the next 2 years??
We both purchased the Eris when it launched but she couldnt deal with it being slow so I acquired hers and had one to use and one to test. Im running stock Sense on one and Nonsensikal on the other one. I have no intentions of putting either out to pasture.
