To date, I have not been able to get a single PC to USB program to work on the Touch.
Would be nice to download this, but the file could only 10 times be downloaded.

25.02.09: with this rom i can't establish a bluetooth connection to
my activesync. per usb works fine bluetooth, no way. any ideas?
Tried it on Vista as well as XP, which means Windows Mobile Center and Activesync 4.5

Just a little workaround which works out fine for me:
use the htc cube to appoint your contacts it is similar to the people widget.
Restart your device and you will still find your contacts in people widget.
In this way you can at least use 9 contacts from people widget.

I´t can take a few day´s.... finding the bluetooth bug is not easy...
Not the matter, normally I just use iContact and Microsoft VoiceDial, so I do not need the people widget.

Hello to all Charmer users.
This is a another German ROM for Charmer (MDA II Compact).
Thanks to gullum and vlodeck for the base ROMs and the permission to re-cook.

Also thanks to mschmitz for the idea, the work he put into his German ROM - see this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=331142, for providing the link to the “how-to translate” and for inspiring me to cook the “perfect” ROM (at least for my purposes).
My idea/goal is to gain as much Memory as possible by keeping ROM small as Charmer gets remarkable slower if usable MEM goes below 15MB.
Future Plans:
This ROM: I will try to get it stable and "entirely" German. Thereafter:
New ROM: I plan to cook a slim “base” ROM and let the user decide what to install (e.g. only “Tastatur” installed, rest can be de-installed by user).
This is the first stable version as I did not publish Beta 1 – 2 due to unsolved items (that are solved now in this beta 3).
Now what’s the difference to vlodecks English and mschmitz German ROM:
I implemented “real” German Inputs, so all English versions all DLLs have been removed to save space (e.g. in mschmitz ROM you will have “Keyboard” and “Tastatur” which causes selection troubles).
Input Method Selection therefore does not require “tricks” anymore and works like expected. I anyways included IM Selector (see below).
Following Programs are NOT included in my ROM compared to vlodeck and mschmitz:

If you need VoIP you will find a Folder “Voice over IP” in RAR File. Simply install both cab Files and you have VoIP – will take about 2MB space.

- All German Inputs (removed all english DLLs)
- pBar (new Version 1.5 iso 1.4 like in Vlodecks), good Task manager with battery monitor, etc
- kbdddr.dll (Charmer kbddrv as Vlodeck uses Prophet)
- allblack.tsk: (This is a black Theme which also removes „WM6 Shiny/Glossy bars”, so this is a real flat black theme, e.g. use for iPhone Skin)
- PPCPIMBackup (new Version). Backup your Contacts, Phonelist, SMS, etc..
- IM Selector (You can choose a an input method that is Standard after Soft reboot. Standard is now “Tastatur”)
- Phonepad (Intellipad) GER/ENG only, I removed all other Languages (like Greek to save space)
- wince.nls (exchanged from Prophet Version to Charmer Version – Needed for ActiveSync over MS Exchange Server)
- MMS Templates translated to German
- Icons for Program Folders
- Filedialog changer
- Task Manger by dotfred (including a Registry Editor)

ATTENTION:
It may happen get an error (like: cannot replace file, maybe in use, or similar)after running "Upgrade_ROM.bat".
No worries, in this case copy "EnableRapi.cab" and "Cert_SPCS.cab" to your device if not allready there and install them by clicking on it in File Explorer. Then re-run "Upgrade_ROM.bat" and it should work.
On my Charmer the ROM is stable without any problems. If you crash your device, its YOUR fault and own responsibility.
Please do not ask how to flash a ROM or where to find ROMs or programs, etc in this thread, see links above. If you are not sure what you do, its better not to do it.

ATTENTION – UPGRADE INFORMATION GENERAL and when you flash my ROM for the first time:
(German: ACHTUNG: Bei jedem UPGRADE und wenn Du mein ROM das erste mal auf Dein Gerät spielst).
Do not forget to Flash back to WM5 before you upgrade from another WM6 Version and read the HOW-TOs!!.
Speicherkarte/Storage Card Info - Wichtig: For System Compatibility to english Versions the "Speicherkarte" is called Storage Card in my ROM (as we often switch/test from english to German versions and v.v).
If you flash from a German WM5 ROM, you might have problems after restoring your personal data as "Speicherkarte" is named "Storage Card" (e.g. Installed Programs, etc.).
To solve this you can edit this registry item:
go to Taskmanager/RegEdit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory] and change "Folder"="Storage Card" to: "Folder"="Speicherkarte".
But be carefull: If everything worked OK for you with "Storage Card" (e.g. you had an english version before) and you rename "Storage Card" to "Speicherkarte" later on, you also have to change all Registry References (Installed Programs, etc.) and Shortcuts to "Speicherkarte"!!
ATTENTION – UPGRADE INFORMATION FROM MY PREVIOUS BETA VERSION 3.0 (3) or 3.1:

Just a few things:
Using SKTools 4, I found one wrong link (it is a ROM-File, so no chance for me to correct it): "\Windows\Start Clean.lnk" referes to "\Program Files\Startclean\startclean.exe" instead to "\Windows\StartClean.exe". (see screenshot_1.jpg)
At the "Telefon"-screen there is "Contacts" instead of "Kontakte" (see screenshot_2.jpg) and the "Smart-Dialing-Options" are still non german (see screenshot_3.jpg)
btw: How long did it took you to cook this ROM? I would love to cook my own ROM but i haven't enough time to test, modify, test again, modify again, aso -> so i hope, that you will cook the ultimate german ROM for Charmer!

Thats weird...
Strange.
1) USB Charging: After First use (Hard reset) please go to "\Windows" and Start "XDADev_BatFix.exe". This has to be done only once after Hardreset.
Reset and it will work
2) Will check what happened with Textmessages and try to post a bugfix until next revision.

First of all: Great great work of yours!
I experience 2 kind of problems:
E-Mails (push, exchange, pop accounts) show no message body, only headers, recipients & attachments (though u can't open them)...
When retrieving data (mails, internet, active sync) the sessions don't end automatically, u always have to cancel them manually.
Does anyone struggle with the same stuff ?

(btw: YES, there IS a content in the mail shown at the screenshots!)
Don't see a problem with not-self-stopping-sessions! What do you mean exactly? The GPRS/EDGE connection? - IMO they never should end automatically, 'cause you're wasting data-volume (this shouldn't be really a problem) and there's no need for stopping it anyway.

Every 5-10 minutes it starts an internet connection just by itself.
I noticed it in the morning when the data session was like 7 hours or so!
Don't know why...active sync config is :
main time check: every 2 hrs
side time check: manually
GMX Account check: manually

Hi my friend, i´m still searching for a solution with contacts bug, the strange thing is that in WWE all is ok, and with another Lang folders contacts don´t work, for your issue with Start Menu or Large Start Menu, i solved the same issue i had on my PTG build, using newer dlls if u wan´t pm me i´ll send them for u to test.

Works fine, good speed, almost 77mb free on first boot, low batery consumption,but I cannot open camera software,say that is unsigned,or something like this.Wait a fix.

Same problem as tom's, the 'G' GPRS Symbol doesn't work (you won't see the problem if you're in a 3G or HS area!) - quickly fixed by adding a registry key, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2419146&postcount=334
Aside from that, seems as good as Tom's - not spectacularly different or faster,IMHO
I have flash it and i have some problems..
1)Camera don't works.
2)Where is TouchFlo scrolling? It's the must have tool!
3)Page Pool is too small.
4)I have received sms written by hieroglyps from unknown person... and my sms-reply window got a problem (I use chinese msyh.ttf font, so there no problem with reading, but it shows very strange window!)
5)And there is happened some various bugs, when i tryed to install my soft... (Resco today plugin, Touchflo scroll)
Without this ***** problems and bugs, this rom will be the best rom for touch dual.

Bugs:
1)There is a small program in tray. After trying to close it, OS always crashes....
2)After installing resco today, it didn't appear on Today. Reinstalling have solve this problem
3)Ftouchflo scroll just don't work , i have tryed uninstall it, and my phone have freezed
4)I have installed HTC Cube (I need touch scrolling), but scrolling don't work properly
i am uploading the camera-bugfix..
copy all the files to the touchdual\windows folder and restart the device..

Here is a cab for the lazy people like me which fixes the camera issue and the missing G icon.
If you like the favorite people tab on the HTC Home, delete the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial and do a soft reset.
Edit: In some way the above changes seem to enable the large start menu. My guess is that deleting the registry key is mostly responsible for it.

Hi, is this CAB working for anyone else? I can start Camera app but when I try to shot a photo, camera play sound,start to focusing or something like that for 3-5 secs, for a second show static image and throw some error message "Unable to capture photo. Unable to get frame from camera device."

of course I've tried to use your fix, too... I uninstalled the wmn79's CAB and use your fix, but nothing happens.. the same result... any idea? or should I hard reset my device to delete all mess from CAB and try to use your fix again?
I have the same problem, didn't test to make a photo when I installed it.
It is strange because the only thing the cab does is place the files in the windows folder. Tried different combinations of file atributes (read only, hidden, system, archive) for the files but it doesn't seem to help.
If you just uninstall the cab you get the initial error message again.
i have testet my fix and its works..
when i would have mor feedbacks i would cooking a new version..but only for this two things i dont think that is a good ideea.. my fix works, i can confirm that.

How to Flash this ROM
If you don't know what is HardSPL, STOP! You need to read this before you continue. This ROM is only for GSM devices. For CDMA ROMs, look here.
I release my ROM in flashable microSD format, mainly because:
To prevent newbies just running an .exe file without knowing what it is
Less space in the compress release
microSD flashing is the SAFEST way to flash.
Can't wait? on to flashing!
What You Need
Zip or 7zip extractor for the compress file. You can download 7zip here
USB cable if flashing from ActiveSync
CustomRUU Wrapper (download it here) if flashing from ActiveSync
microSD formatted to FAT32 if flashing via (micro)SD method
Flashing via ActiveSync
- Make sure your battery level is above 50%, or the flash will not continue!
- BACKUP ALL THE CONTACTS/FILES YOU NEED!
extract RAPHIMG.NBH from the compressed file, rename it to RUU_Signed.nbh
put the RUU_Signed.nbh on the location where you've put the CustomRUU Wrapper.
Connect your Touch Pro/Fuze to your PC via USB cable.
ActiveSync should run and connect your device. Wait for the icon to turn GREEN.
Run the Custom RUU Wrapper and follow the steps on the screen
Flashing via (micro)SD Method
- Make sure your microSD card is formatted to FAT32, or else your Touch Pro/Fuze won't detect the file.
- at least have around 40% of battery. I've done it with 23%, but just to be safe, make sure you have enough juice left
- BACKUP ALL THE CONTACTS/FILES YOU NEED!
extract RAPHIMG.NBH from the compressed file and put it to your SD
Do a HARD RESET
with your stylus, press the RESET button while holding down the VOLUMN DOWN button and ENTER button. It should go to diagnostics (rainbow screen) mode.
release the RESET button, but continue holding the VOLUMN DOWN and ENTER button until you see "This operation will delete all your personal data..."
press VOLUME UP button to hard reset.
while resetting, press VOLUMN DOWN button to go back to diagnostics (rainbow screen) mode.
if done correctly and your microSD is formatted to FAT32, it should say "Loading..." or else you will just see the rainbow screen.
Press POWER button to flash your ROM and wait for it to finish. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR BATTERY!
When the flash finishes, press the RESET button. DONE!
UC Ready ROM
- this ROM is UC ready. What is UC? Check it here.
- NOTE TO NAVIGON USERS: If you are using your Navigon SD to flash and setup UC, you need to rename the 2577 directory first otherwise UC will not work correctly (thanks urys)
For AT&T Fuze Users

- to setup your connection problems:
Download AllTheWay's AT&T Settings Cab from here (Thanks AllTheWay)
On Start->Settings->Tab "Connections"->Connections->Manage Existing Connections->Tab "Proxy Settings", uncheck "This network uses a proxy server to connect to internet"
On Start->Settings->Tab "Connections"->Connections->Tab "Advanced"->Select Network, change both pulldowns to "Media Net" (Thanks Reefermattness)
If you still have some problems (weather in TouchFlo3d not updating), try this (thanks AlienHairball):
On Start->Settings->Tab "Connections"->Connections->Tab "Advanced"->Select Network, change both pulldowns to "My ISP"
if you edit "My ISP" make sure it's on "Auto" instead instead of either "My ISP GPRS" or "ATT GPRS"
On Start->Settings->Tab "Connections"->Advanced Network->Tab "HSDPA/HSUPA"->make sure that "Enable HSDPA/HSUPA" is set

You also need to install SDKCERTS.cab.

however... big problem...
g-sensor doesn't work! doesn't work from calibration, teeter or album... tried flashing twice and 3 hard resets... any ideas? i would work on trying to fix it, but too much of a PIA if i can't cleanly extract the rom
checked it with htcrie, dll files for the sensorsdk package and oemdrivers dll are there and correct sizes. the reg setting differ a little from proven's BS port, but only on angle rotations, so something weird is going on... can't test anything because the latest version of htcrie crashes when saving...

heh, I was testing more on the major functionalities that I haven't tested g-sensor. Fixed in the new version

Not very special but stable and fast.
HSDPA won't work by me, have a 20 euro data abbo by KPN, with another rorm i had the H symbol but flashed another roms and never had the H symbol anymore.
DSLreports give me 33kbits very very f&cked up speed for 20 euro's.
(This rom is not the reason for my slow speeds!)
The adressbook do not have de abc etc at the right side not possible in de options or will not work.

I'm using t-mobile nl abo and it's pretty fast for the abc's, it's working fine on mine I've only added it on v1.01 maybe you installed 1.0?
I intend to make the beta release a lite one, watch out for something special
I only have abc etc above the adressbook not on the right side.
Maybe tomorrow i will flash 1.01 if i have time.
with radio do you use?
on which rom this is based?
My compliments to the chef.
This ROM is excellent.
This one of, if not the best ROMs around as far as battery life goes.
I'm using it with radio 1.02.25.28

This Cheetah Nld release is based on Cheetah 3.2r WWE and is completely different than the
Cheetah releases before. ljankok has altered the original Topaz manila for speed and created
a very fast WWE rom. Together we worked on the Nld version and here it is
The Dutch manila 2.5.20113030.0 contained broken text lines at several places due to bigger font,
i've changed all ( as far as i know ) lines of text so all fit the screen.
Sure hope you guys like this one since it has been a lot of work.

When you follow these simple steps you will be able to select any option you want:
1. Use your favorite regeditor and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications
Once your there you`ll find the next strings:

Now none of the checkboxes will be grayed out and no options will be selected.
So don't forget you'll need to go to you notification settings and select the options you want!

Well, thank you very much for this great ROM. It's my first, actually. One thing I noticed is that de title of the tab 'Muziek' is in CAPITALS, while the other titels only have the first letter in capital.
I'am not complaining, it's only something I noticed

Well the Muziek tab in capitals is one thing i also noticed, but i noticed it in many others, think this is HTC standard.
Glad you like this rom, do come back for new releases.
Rom is great. Runs now almost a day and no bugs ar found. What i notice but i never used it before is that power point is missing. I'm happy and will ad this rom to the phone of a friend. He want only a dutch rom that is working fine.

The Rom, is very great! I love the dutch version since I do not want to play around with cabs for the T9 keyboard. I haven't noticed any bugs yet and the bluetooth is indeed working again Thanks so far and I will bookmark this page to see if there are interesting future updates.
By the way, anyone who can explain what the best way is to keep a ROM as fast as possible? I mean, what type of actions slow down the speed of the ROM? E.g. does it matter how many applications you install on the storage card or will that only matter when they always run in the background? Does the amount of contacts matter, etc etc...

all of those adds up to slow the phone down little by little, I believe (number of apps installed, number of apps installed on the storage card and what type of storage card, apps running in the background, number of contacts, numbers of text messages, etc.)... also like if the phone is searching for signal in weak spot areas while you're in the middle of an app.

Good to hear you like Cheetah 2.1 NL Actually i always want to try new releases but i think i will pass for now since i also like this one Still some things that need some attention so i`m working on it.
There's lots of thing that can slow down your rom, installing applications can, lots of messages can but i never noticed a huge amount of contacts can. But maybe that's because i only have 211 contacts listed?! For me this project is a way to create a rom version providing in basic needs so everyone can choose what they do and don't install.
A lot of applications update on regular base so installing by .cab is preffered over cooking them into the Rom. That`s why i`m using 2nd post for .cab add-ons.
I guess it's just a matter of testing things out and see what happens, if an application does slow down the rom you can always uninstall

Hardreset:
1. With the Touch Diamond2 switched off, press the volume up and down buttons simultaneously.
2. Keeping them pressed, press power button to turn Topaz on.
3. Release the volume buttons when a message flashes up to say, “This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.”
4. Press the volume up button.
Ram and Mamory:
Actually i failed to look, since my device is loaded with things i like it wouldn't be right to tell you abour Ram and Memory right now. I would say give it a go, this rom is nice and fast. Let me know how about the Ram and memory.
Or you can wait untill it's flashing time once again and i will tell.
Calibrate Battery:
1. discharge the battery completely (by playing video, audio, etc.)
2. Remove the battery and wait about 1min then place it back (do not power on the phone)
3. Full Charge the phone, wait when LEDs turns green (do not power on the phone)
4. When fully charged - remove the battery (do not power on the phone)
5. Wait about 1 min then place the battery to the phone and now you can power it on.
This is the way i'm used to do it.
When you do a search on XDA you'll find different ways to do it, all with their own pros and cons. I would say it's your choice.
