please someone help me,
today i upgraded to a new wm6.1 Rom for HTC P3400 which was posted in gene forum here at XDA Developers , after successful upgrade my phone restarted n got stuck at bootloader.
i hv tried almost every solution avaible at Forum XDA developers, but still same condition.
i hv hard reset it several times, also gave unsuccessful try to Mtty , and gene unbreak.
please someone tell me how to unbreak my device, becuz i hv gone through almost every solution, but nothing working.
ther is solution for newer genes in "Gene Forum" but tht also not workin on my old gene.
and please tell me that can i send it to HTC india, as it is still under warrenty.
i m afraid that they wont repair it as i was using custom wm 6.1 roms
so please somebody help me out. i m really in grt tension....

Sorry for the caps, but Please post ONBL, SPL etc if possible
then only a solution can be derived. Post everything that you can remember aboout your phone as well as what is written on the sticker at the bottom of the packaging box of your phone.
And please dont post full serial no, only the first 3 numbers like HT8xxx or HT7xxx etc.

dear frnd sorry for my mistake....
my phones serial no is starting like HT807XXXXXX
but its not P3400i, its was having WM5 by default
even hving HT8XX serial i was successfully using all the ROMs Including fusion, PDAViet etc etc, ther was no problem
but problem started when i upgraded my phone to WM6.1 Stock ROM

Just flash it with WM6 Original ROM (India) guys, I don't see much improvements in WM6.1, and your SPL is original. Do it in the BootLoader Screen, and flash it via RUU.

hey i tried upgrading to original wm6 but it always shows error at 2%, "Invalid Vendor ID" n my phone gets restart.
Budyy i have said on that page that i had only tested it on my P3400i and its working great till date. HTC has created such a mess with all these 3 versions. I think the mystry is now solved, and Those with the older gene with WM5 ROM but Serial No HT8xx can install the WM6.1 stock (look-a-like) ROM only if ONBL version greater than or equal to 1.10.000.
I'll update the info in WM 6.1 Stock ROM thread too. That ROM is not provided by me, i just copied it and mirrored it from 4PDA.ru so cant tell you much.
@npiyanut: Yeh you are right, but i think instead of flashing WM 6 stock ROM he should flash the Original WM5 ROM as the original WM6 ROM for P3400 doesn't have the OnBL, SPL etc updates. It just has the OS and extROM parts and that i have confirmed by dumping the ROM myself. I tried upgrading to stock WM5 Rom given here

Feeling very sad for your Phone.
Can you give me the screen shot where you stuck?
I know u provided all necessary Info ,but pls it may help me out.
Take a snap of your phone screen with another phone and upload it.
I flashed that rom that u have flashed (WM6.1 stock rom mirrored by crazy_about_tech.) and mine also stuck in boot loader,
but immediately just flash back Fusion 9 and my phone alive again.
Please don't blame anyone for anything.
Here, all are together for helping each other and sharing their PDA experiences not making anyone's phone DEAD.

Looks like you need to do a hard-spl again before you flash another ROM.

i hv already given this a try.....but ended up getting error all the time.....
i tried Mtty i dont know how many times but in last the error comes
and one more thing.....tht unbrick solution is for P3400i and newer GENEs (HT 8XX), even my phone's serial no starts frm HT8XXX, although it is old version.....ONPL is 1.07.0.0 ...
while in newer genes it is 1.10.0.0 n more
so this solution wont apply on mine...
BUT Still i gave it a try.......not workin for me...

Oh ,earlier you were using wm 6.1 by PhamQuang ,that's why your splash screen changed but this is not a big issue,Once your phone alive again this can be solved in minutes,
Try this(I don't know you tried it or not)
plug ur phone to PC and reset ur phone keeping the camera and the power button pressed.
If you see the tricolor screen with a Text USB in left bottom corner of your phone, leave the buttons or try again ,Once tricolor screen appears then only you can flash your original Wm5 (24 march 2007.exe) because your SPL is original till now.

Yes sir.....i hv already tried it......
i did the same........enter in bootloader..the tricolor screen....atteched to USB....in phone it was also showing the text USB in left corner..
than i tried to flash original WM5 rom (24 march 2007) ......but alas.....the same problem......error at 2% sayin "Invalid Vendor ID"

Your Splash screen also may made ur phone's warranty void.This is a big problem.let me think for a day.

Finally Gene is alive......thanks to HTC service centre..
Finally i gave my phone to HTC service centre...and...ther made my gene alive once again...
Now m very happy now...!!!
i would like to thank every XDA forum member for helping me out and givin me response.
i mistakenly flashed wm6.1 stock rom which was for HTC P3400i and newer P3400, so my phone got stuck at bootloader.
i tried almost each n every solution avaible here at XDA forum , but nothing helped me out.
as each time it was showing me error in flashing back to original ROM.
finally i gave up and decided to give my phone to HTC service centre since it was under warrenty...
so...now my phone is OK....it has original wm5 once again.,,,
and i will flash to Fusion 9.0 rom tonight.....

Open the bk_06_0001.img in the notepad and search for this string: "bootloader version" (without quotes)
When you find it, on "Built on" check date. If your date is < march 26 2008 then you have an old gene. If your date is >= march 26 2008 then you have a new gene.
Sorry for any problem that the old method has caused.
With this method is more secure to determine wich model you have.

This test was not made by me. I used it to know the model of my gene and it worked. So I re-posted it here.
But if your device has the serial HT8xxx and already came with the WM6 most likely it would be a new gene. The test would not be necessary.
Could you send me your bk_06_0001.img. I want to analyse it.

my phone is 8XXX slno and while i did the HSPL (thanks to help from Krazy) i found out that even though my phone was around 7 mths old came with WM6 and p3400i it turned out to be old gene so is suggest( i have also posted a thread on the same in this forum) so kindly dont assume new or old gene by ur nos u need to test with ramersnows testers or use Krays stiky and do the what it says it also has all the tools
this is just for ur info giving u my experience thats all

this ONBL 1.17.0000,SPL 1.17.0000,GSM 02.79.90, OS 1.17.0.0 does not mean u have new gene i have the same but mine was found out to be a old one min also had WM6 preloaded and it was p3400i
but Krazys numbers were also the same but his came out as a new gene
so use ramersonw s tester and also read sumits stiky do it word for word it also has the tools do try all of the above before proceeding
and yes pls pls take help from the pros

Hi Guys,
I tried searching around however i could not see any new ROMS for Gene for windows 6.5. I noticed that all the other phones like Blackstone and Titan have lots of new ROM for windows 6.5 with lot of other verison. i noticed their version have reached upto to v8 for win 6.5.
If we have any could you please pass it on to me? something like the Honeycomb? Please plase!!

Other phones are having it faster because the quoted ones by you have bigger stomach (ROM memory) so its a bit simpler to cook this huge giant OS for them. For GENE, the cutting and trimming takes a lot of time. Be thankful that its even running on gene because of developers like Ankit here, otherwise you would never be able to see wm 6.5 on gene.

it will not solve the problem

for some reason RUU fails to update the SPL image, the phone comes to screen with progress bar but then RUU fails and says "plaese use a new update utility"
I DONT KNOW Y U PEOPLE ARE SO CARELESS IN DOING SUCH THINGS.....
THERE ARE SO MANY WARNINGS WRITTEN IN STICKY POSTS AND THERE ARE NOW SEVERAL METHODS TO IDENTIFY OLD-NEW GENE AND THEN UPDATE IT...

Don't get mad. Actually its hilarious. In atleast once in 15 days, you will find one guy or the other bricking his or device by wrongly patching.
Come to think of it, I have seen around three or more pple in the last month alone 'updating' the SPL of their old gene to oref (even though there Gene was not complaining with .olip)
I wonder what they would have done when we joined this forum

I have sucessfully upgraded the old gene
GUYS........... I HAVE RECOVERED MY OLD GENE THAT GOT BRICKED WITH orefkov spl ... IT IS DONE AS ... I PUT MY MOBILE IN BOOT LOADER AND THEN DO THE HSPL OF OLIPRO... IT HAS OLIPRO NBH FINE SO IT GOT UPDATED TO 1.20 OLIPRO SPL THEN AGAIN I RESTART THE MOBILE IN BOOT LOADER AND IT SHOWS THE OLIPRO SPL ... AFTER THAT I UPDATED THE ROM USING RUU AND MOBILE GOT WORKED AND NOW I AM HAVING WM 6.1...
AND AFTER THAT AGAIN I TRYED TO FLASH THE OREFKOV BUT IT FLASHING AND SHOWS ONLY OLIPRO SPL .... IT IS NOT CHANGING THE OREFKOV... SO I JUST LEAVE IT
MY MOBILE WORKING NOW AS SPL 1.20 OLI ... IS IT CORRECT SPL ??? DO I HAVE TO UPDATE OLD GENE ROMS ???

if my understanding is right ur spl now is .olip so ur gene is old gene
now if u have flashed a ROM for old gene and its working good flash only rom for old gene and don't try any more tricks
stick to old gene flash old gene ROM and have fun
im saying this based on what i understand from ur posting

no offense to the other cooks here but i have always been a Fan of Sumit u can see my sign (Krazy) i can see that he has released a new build try it u will like as his roms are generally loaded with most of the basic things u would need in ur ROM MAKE SURE U USE THE ROM FOR OLD GENE ONLY OK
AND I WAS TOLD THAT OVER CLOKING IS BAD FOR UR PHONE LIFE I WOULD SUGGEST U NOT TO DO I NEVER DID IT WHILE USING MY GENE

If you are a speed fanatic like me, you can go for upto 20% of your Core CPU Speed. But do not go beyond that, as it will fry your CPU and drain the battery too. Better use CPU Scalar and set the max speed to 240 MHz and Min speed to 110 MHz (or near about). this gives good speed and performance (balanced).

i having my old gene and i updated to 6.5 but it stuck in welcome screen and shows 6.5... Can any one tell me what was the problem ??

did u download the right ROM for ur Phone u need to downlaod the ROM for old gene may be this is the mistake u did
REMEMBER urs is a old gene before downloading chek if it is for ur Phone and then download i have never ever had any problems with Sumits ROM

@everyone: Is it too much to read the thread before downloading and flashing? He has said it a number of times that this rom has a problem.

I think they are Official and hence one should read this before glashing with any of these.

the above roms are the oldest one i've ever seen...it says windows mobile 5.0.....lol
and also it change my spl to 1.07.0000 ...tried to update the spl by mtty.exe but shows error on step with "ls.bin".....so i'm stuck with this old rom with portugese language...
any help would be appreciated

do not downgrade to wm5.
apart from wanting to check the original OEM apps out (via dump) to add into custom roms for smoother operation i don't see why people want to flash these roms onto their devices...
why not opt for newer, stable build releases rather than downgrade your device to wm5...(its like buying a brand new laptop with the best available config just to run win95 on it)
and if you've read the stickies in the forum, you'd know that it isn't exactly safe or recommended...so why tempt fate...

I tried this shipped ROM, it change my spl to 1.07.0000 ...tried to replace the ROM, but it fails, it messages " The Image file is corrupted please check your update utility" what I do now, plzz help me to update my ROM, i'm stuck with this old rom with portugese language........any help would be appreciated
