Hey I was just wondering if there is a better battery meter for the touch pro because not having the percentages on stock is driving me insane. any help would be appreciated.
Do a search for Ariel, that's what i use and it works pretty well.
VistaHide is very lightweight and works great. It adds a bar across the top of your screen to indicate charge. It does not modify the batter icon in the status bar.
Thanks for the help guys. Gonna try them this afternoon.

Good battery application to check battery status? reason i asked is because my i usually charge my phone everynight and it last from 5 am until 11pm when i charged. by 11pm it has around 30% charge.. I installed SetCPU and is not 6pm, and is asking to be charged :O, so i uninstalled setcpu, btw i had it at 1k/1k
battery status shows 50% screen
BatteryLife by Curvefish.
i second the BatteryLife app
All I was looking for was an app to give me a percentage without taking up a lot of space. BatteryIndicator fit that need just fine. It shows a tiny battery icon in the top left corner of the screen with the percentage. Give it a download and see what you think.

Been using that on all of my android phones, simply awesome. It gets the job done, light weight, and looks good. Check it out in the market, is free.

I downloaded battery indicator also but its annoying because of the notification in the middle of the night wakes me up to tell me my phone is fully charged. And then you can't even make the notification go away without unplugging the phone. If I keep it plugged in, the screen stays lit all night ....or I unplug it and by morning its lost a lot of its charge. Major flaw I think. I like it during the day but not at night. Anybody know of a similar app that will be in the notification bar up top but is not so annoying?

I've never noticed that particular issue so I contacted the author. Here's what he had to say:
Battery Indicator shows that the phone is fully charged in the same way that it shows whatever the battery status is -- there's an ongoing notification in the pull-down notification area from the status bar. It doesn't have a special notification that pops up when the phone becomes fully charged, though, so if [he is] seeing that, it is either another app, or perhaps it's a customization that [his] carrier added to the phone.

sorry battery indicator just conflicts with the noled program. I'll post about the conflict in that thread. sorry for the confusion.
You might want to give Battery Watcher Widget a try. That's what I finally settled on after trying a dozen or so.

This is a TouchWiz thing. I dont have any battery apps installed and it has done this since day 1 of getting the phone.
I have battery status and it is a very small clean app that just leaves you a small battery in your top notification bar that tells you the percent.
"Battery widget" can be found in the market...and it works perfectly for me. It shows your battery status by 1% intervals.

I personally use battery indicator pro, I liked it enough to use the "pro" or donate version. Great lightweight app, only $0.99. Shows percentage in the top status bar and never had an issue with it, you can set custom percentage relevant to the color (green, yellow, red).
I am new to Android, so please dont crucify me here... I come from a windows phone, and very much like the taskbar battery indicator. Small bar indicator that spans the entire width of the screen. I am just curious if there is anything similar for droid, ultimately on the nook?
I have been looking through the forum, but haven't come up with anything yet.
Thanks.

You can change the battery icon by editing framework.apk but youd be better off using something like metamorph.. altho i havent been able to get it to work for me...
Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 (zoom2)/Tapatalk Pro
Until someone releases a 1% battery mod, there's not much of a need for this. The nook only supports 25% battery increments.

What? My nook shows every percent go by. I use SimiClock now, but other clocks have worked the same. 1-100%, every percent.
And to the OP, it is possible to do what you are talking about on many android devices, but I have yet to see/hear about it working on the nook.

You are correct about an app being able to read at 1% increments. The task bar, however, does not. It reads at 25% increments. Basically, it would depend on how someone implemented the mod.

Also check out "Gauge Battery Widget" in the Market...besides a cool-looking widget, it also can put a colored battery icon in the taskbar with 1-100% readings.

search on market for "Circular Battery Indicator"
I've kind of been a battery nut since I've had my SG2. When I first got the phone, I was constantly concerned and checking my battery percentage via custom battery indicators [ones that show the percentage remaining in the notification area].
It's been about a month since I've had my phone, and I'm really content with the battery life on it. With about 2-3 hrs of screen on time I easily get 2 days.
I don't want to be constantly worrying about my battery so I went back to the stock battery indicator. I have Battery Monitor Widget installed, but it's not on my homescreen and I barely check it.
Now, I find that I'm much less concerned about battery life. Having the percentage indicator always visible was turning me into a nut job. In some ways I'm still a nut job , but at least it doesn't have anything to do with my phones battery life.
I'm curious to know what the community here prefers - Battery indicators that show percentage or no percentage [stock]?
i'm with you on this. I find the no % indicator less stressfull
My rooted phone shows the percentage at the battery icon, but before I would check my "about phone" to see power usage. I rather manage what my phone is doing rather that letting some app manage it. So I rather see it so I know if I need to turn something off depending if I need to save my battery for something else

Yeah, you're right in a way, but I still prefer the percentage battery indicator... you just have to get used to whatever battery life you have, and live with it.

As I recently discovered too, no percentage is definitely better for peace of mind. I get unnerved when it's going down like 95,94,93,92 etc. I feel like I'm about to run out, but the battery is still almost full actually. If I don't see the numbers, I don't have that problem.
However, the default battery indicator sucks so bad. It's almost epic fail level suck. There's almost no way to distinguish 100% and 90%. 60% looks actually like 80%. I much prefer HTC style horizontal and longer battery display, which can easily be cloned with UOT kitchen.
If you keep peace of mind away then who on earth won't like to have a percentage meter when it's available rather than a crap non percentage one!
Gauge battery is superb, its spot on and best of all its free puts battery percenge on notification top line

hey guys something weird is really happening with my 3d...and my search is timing out!
anyway - I left it plugged in over night and the battery percent on taskbar says 100% with green led, but my battery widget (HTC battery) said 96%.
I rebooted this morning and the % from taskbar went from 100 to 80%, but the widget now says 89%.
I've wiped battery stat already...any suggestion? on viper 1.3 rom...or if there's another thread already I apologize for my search not working this morning.
Thanks in advance.

this sounds like it might be a ROM specific question. i'm on my own version of the stock rom and there is no % in the taskbar for the battery. perhaps it is worth posting in your custom ROM thread reading the accuracy of the battery % in the taskbar. chances are, if there is an issue, other users of that ROM will also have the issue and post back in the custom ROM thread as well.
edit: seems there is another thread with only specific battery mods. the OP says he helped do the battery % mods in viper rom also. perhaps this might have more answers/tweaks to help with your issue - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198148
for accurate battery readings, i use the free batterylife widget available in the market and it has worked great on all my android devices.
hope that helps!
So - I like to see my battery percentage on the top bar on my Razr. But - so far, every app I have found only shows in 10% increments. Any way to change this?
Battery indicator pro has an option for 1% battery increments, it's in the "other settings" menu towards the bottom.
Try battery monitor widget. Works on mine!

Don't know about the others mentioned, but battery indicator pro also has a nice home screen lock on/off toggle. Nice bonus IMHO. Love that feature. Great app!
Batter circle was my favorite choice for batter percentage.
Battery indicator. Free. Works. Minimal ram usage...under 4mb
