Could someone help me to better understand Sprint picturemail please? I was under the impression that using SPM you could send a SMS Txt message to someone and attach a photo to it?? Is this not true? Also, if someone using say AT&T sends a MMS to my Touch Pro should I not be able to receive the txt + the photo they send on my phone?
thanks for your help in advance
The sprint picture mail is a seperate program from the txt....you can rx a txt with the picture but it only shows up in that picture mail program. If you want it to show where your txt msg show you will have to dowload Arcsoft & then i believe it will come through as a txt. Hope this helps.

Sprints PictureMail program is crap. I made a Arcsoft CAB that uninstalls picturemail, and installs Arcsoft all at once. Get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486806
It will be just like any other Carrier.
Sprint Picture Mail
I agree it sux.
My question is, for the recipent can you send to a phone number or do you have to send to a email address ?
I've sent to both a phone number an email with no issues. Remember that the picture you sent CAN NOT be "3M".....its way too big for Sprint I guess and for some reason, wont go through with Sprint Picture Mail. I changed my camera setting to "L" and the pic went through with no problem.
This may be a dumb question, but are there charges for sending picture mail using Arcsoft?
Nope. You would use it instead of Sprint Picture Mail is all.
Assuming of course you have a Picture Mail Plan.
Thank you for the help.

Ok, Here is Arcsoft MMS 5.0.69.44 for sprint. I also made it so that it removes Sprint picturemail when you install it. Note, It will delete the picturemails on your phone, but you can still go online and get them through the website, and even forward them to yourself if you want them on your phone again.
The default is 512k sending limit, and 10 meg d/l limit. I removed the limit for editing the server setting. Now you can edit the sprint server, and change the limit there in the app without having to do any regedits. You can select 512k (For compatibility with other carriers), 1 meg, and 5 meg.
question...
if i want to send a pic, can i send it from text? or do i have to email the pic?
thanks
Does the other one you posted also uninstall picture mail? Picture mail works perfectly fine if installed AFTER MMS It even cooks in perfectly
I can send just fine but I cannot receive. I am using stock Sprint ROM.
Same problem as above, I can Send perfectly fine but recieve nothing. Plus I cant even figure out where to go to find the app, theres no program in the programs list or anything. There is nothing in where you have all your email accounts either.
Like:
+AOL
+Comcast
+Yahoo
+Text Messages
+Plus Pic Mail (When I had the stock sprint pic mail installed)
Also, No idea how to edit the server. I checked my registry's and the editserver is enabled to 1 but I have no idea where to look to find to edit the server info. Thought maybe that was the prob.
And, I cant figure out how to edit the send size limit or anything like it said you can
i have htc ppc6800sp the pocket and i want to send pictures
by text messanger no by email , so please if somebody can help how i can get it
Not to sound obnoxious, but I'm not too clear about what you are asking here, so let me try to see if I understand.
You want to send pictures from your ppc6800 using text instead of e-mail? I would imagine if that is what you are asking, then you mean you want to use mms, not sms.
If that is what you are trying to do, then please let us know what the problem is exactly so we know how to help you, or is it just a matter of you not knowing how to send a mms message?

I don't use MMS but my understanding is that you need a program by Arcsoft which should be available on these boards somewhere. Then you need to set it up properly for your carrier. Just search for MMS or maybe picture messaging and you'll probably find some good info on here.

I unlocked a T-Mo HD2 to use with AT&T. I've been using a Tilt 2 before.
My question is: Everytime I take a picture I want to send it as MMS but when I click on the (share?) envelope icon the only options that show up are: Send to My Album (some tmobile website i guess?) upload to facebook, save to footprints and send via email.
Is there a way to have send as MMS/picture message as an option enabled?
Also if anyone can help me raise the mms limit from 300kb to 600kb?
Thanks in advance!
Forgot to add I am using EnergyROM latest build for 6.5.3 CHT 1.8.5
Anyone?
I figured out how to raise the MMS limit...now I just gotta figure out the camera
Something weird that I've gotten when sending MMS through GOSMS is it sends a link and never an image, which is a problem for my buddies who have dumbphones. Any fix?
Link looks like this and it's embeded and shows up as the image on my smartphone, but not to other peoples dumbphones without 3G.

Are there any settings to turn this off and actually send the person the MMS and not some lame link?

yep I do this and it uploads it to a gosms server and sends that link instead of the actual file.
OHH
nevermind. There's a separate little tab called GOMMS which is apparently different from regular MMS.
problem solved, thanks.
thats what I meant, No problem
