ie what changes its require to port vga rom to qvga device ??
I dont know specific dlls, but you'll have to change the icons in all DLLs from VGA (24x24 and 32x32) to QVGA (16x16 and 24x24) resolution. ResHacker can be used for that, but its a very teadious and long process.

Hey there !
Is it possible that i can use the Touch X Kitchen to create a rom for touch ? If i get a Touch Rom file and then dump it, will i then be able to use gullums kitchen to add OEM packages and build a rom file that will work on the Touch ? Or does the kitchen only support Prophet ?

yes it is possible to use it but you need to make some modifications to it
you will need all the OEM folders like OEMAPPS OEMDRIVERS OEM_LANG from a touch device but the kitchen will work with the right files
all these files are placed in the sys folder of the kitchen
folder needed to be changed are
Default
LangDB
OEM_DPI_96
OEM_Lang_0409
OEMAPPS
OEMDrivers
OEMMISC
OEMOPERATORS
SecurityOff
maybe some otheres files are needed from the Touch but I don't know I havn't cooked for touch yet

Just a friend that would like me to put Touch Dual apps on his Touch .. And gullums kitchen has the most of these apps..
Thanks to Panosha's Black Pearl ROM 2.2 which is open, I've managed to extract the Topaz Magic 8 Ball app and create a cab file for it.

I've only tested it on my Touch HD and since it is a Topaz import I'm assuming it is only compatible with WVGA. I'm afraid I'll only be able to answer questions related to Touch HD installation as I have no access to any other device.
I'm not a developer (as I've pointed out in some other thread) - I've merely created a cab file - something anyone else could do, but since nobody was responding to the many requests for a magic 8 ball cab file, I thought I'd give it a try!
Tested but not working as is on Diamond.
For the record, I'am using xbmod Rhodium Manilla ...

i'm really sorry - i'm not a developer and i don't really know how to resolve the issues listed so far It worked fine on mine without any problems (I'm running NRG's HD ROM - the 040309 release).
I've attached the files in a zip file if anyone wants to try making their own cab. The files should all go into the windows directory and the shortcut should be copied into your start menu.

I think the topic pretty much says it all;
This is a native WM 6.5 Topaz OEMXIPKernel/xip.bin/nk.exe - aware of the new Slot 60/Slot 61 virtual memory layout - what does this mean for you as a chef?
Now you don't have to recmod any modules in \SYS anymore, to port over WM 6.5! And you have 64mb free to convert more files to modules!
But you will need to use a relocation tool that is aware of the new memory layout;
Ervius Visual Kitchen + Bepe's New Kitchen do this with the "Real WM 6.5 AKU" checkbox
There's also a build of "WMReloc" 2.0 floating around that may support this, that would be compatible with the "old style" kitchen (buildos + g'reloc, it would replace g'reloc)
even newer update!
Check THIS POST for an updated OEMDrivers you will need to make this kernel fully function

I'm new to the Visual Kitchen. Quick question re file structures:
Current kitchen has the 21806 folder and xip.bin + romhdr.bin in the ROM/Topaz folder.
1) If I replace the xip.bin with the newer one Tom posted, I assume I cannot cook the 21806 ROM again. Correct?
2) If that is the case, is there a need to keep the 21806 folder at all?
3) I need to create a new os.nb.payload as well?

I want to leave you to your kitchen, which I did for Gene.
When you change the build, you need a folder XIP, replace MSXIPKernel. Not require porting.
When you change the build, look at the number of modules, they should not be longer than in my kitchen. If they will have more, get shaky ROM.

I hear that build 21820 has old version of AKU, is that right.
BesFen, AKU is the same as in 21815 (5.0.40) . In 21806, AKU was 5.0.50, but I think that this does not mean anything. Build's 815 and 820 is clearly above and on the date of withdrawal, and changes in themes.

Hi.
Yes, all right. Just replace msxipkernel, and sys. Not require porting. The kitchen will work with 6.5, and with 6.1. At the end of the kitchen get the ROM, for the firmware from the memory card. I did as I prefer. If you are comfortable with the RUU, can transform themselves, it is not difficult.

I have been busy cooking, but fail to add OEM in this kitchen/rom.
So this is what I must do convert/creat oem packages ,drag over EXT_PAckage_rebuilder, and then put them in OEM folder.Is EXT\package folder for extended ROM . Can any one tell me where are the files for battery icon?

Modifying cab's from some one by your own is copying some ones work.
If you will like to have one cab who have all Diniks work integrated, you need to ask it at Dinik self!
is it really that hard to install some cabs? look at xda_uc or dinik/miri's rom...

Agree. If you don't have Dinik's permission to modify his work, you shouldn't do it as it goes against Rule 12.
