Best non-screen covered case - Touch HD Accessories

Hi,
I've doing a lot of research on various cases for the Touch HD. I've come to the conclusion that I still want to be able to see the screen with the cover on (hence no flip covers).
Anyone have any suggestions for the best case which doesn't cover the screen. I hear the silicone ones are good, but they also attract a lot of dust.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thx

I'm using one of the following http://www.netimes.com/shop/rubber-...touch-hd-t8282-black-p-1549.html?cPath=80_612
They seem alright

Thx, I'll see how it turns out.

I have that one too, it's quite good, but it is also a bit thick around the screen so pressing buttons near the screen is a bit more difficult when typing.
But I've had the same problem even with Piel Frama cases, which are a lot more expensive and very well built.
Comes with the form factor...

do the tabs break? does the case fall off? this looks like the perfect protector case for the phone.
i am debating between that and the full body shield

opinions?
of course i know i will still need a screen protector if i choose the plastic case... not a big deal.
**EDIT**
wait a minute, does the active case cover the touch screen??? if it does then that would be COMPLETELY disappointing... *crosses fingers*
I think the plastic covers the screen...
I don't have one, but looking at the pictures, it certainly looks like the plastic covers the screen. This opinion is further reinforced by the statement: "Conveniently view your calendar and contacts through the crystal-clear protective shell".
This makes the case a non-starter for me!

Well I just e-mailed them and if it leaves the screen open (which if you look really close at the short-angle pics of the front, i really want to believe that the screen is exposed) then this will be my 1st aftermarket case. I will post the email results and (pending a positive response) also my personal opinions of the case once it has shipped.
on a side note I am also buying a 3-pack of stylii, the clear touch crystal, and the USB/car charger. ill post feedback if everything works out!!
did you ever get a reply back? I'm interested - though I'm considering it even if it comes with a plastic cover for the screen - as long as it's easily removable, it's more convenient for me so I can just keep it in my front pocket with no danger for the screen. When I need the touch screen I'll take it off, otherwise with something like xbar and other today page plugins, I would minimize touchscreen neccessity.
Since you mentioned you were considering the invisible shield product, are you worried about the screen cracking? What has been your experience with phones without hard cases such as this. It seems to me many people just prefer it in the front pocket with no case due to the bulkiness.
Other Active cases for different devices have a flip screen for the display. I am curious if this one does as well. To me that would be ideal as it could then be carried in your pocket. My old Jornada 568 was like that and it was very handy.

From what I've seen from surfing around, the company's cases for other devices cover the screen, but look like they're hinged to provide easy access to the screen when needed. Their case for the Dell Axim X50 does this. I think the description that the company is using for this is pretty generic to cover most of their other products. They really should clarify the screen cover thing for this particular device.
I'll be interested in hearing more about this...

Snap on covers ?

Hi i just purchased a Snap on cover for my 8525.. seems like cheap plastic but will this effect the slider in anyway ? Because i doooo notice that its a little looser not then it really was. Does anyone else use snap on covers ? Please do let me know. And if there is also a way to re-tighten the slide. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Same problem here
Hello,
I have one of those cheap plastic snap on covers, i think it's a good protector but the keyboard is not as tight as it use to be.
I too am looking for a suggestion for fixing the loose sliding of the keyboard.
I had come across on one of the forums regarding a fix, had to do w/ tape. i'm not so sure if this a true fix or a temporary fix or just a fix that is inexpensive.
But any advice will help.
Same, here. I'm using one of the snap on smoke covers. The keyboard part of the cover is a little lose. The sliding keyboard itself is a little lose as well. Don't want to stick tape in it. Would rather find a permanent solution.
if its poor quality add it to this thread

I have the Boxwave plastic "smoke grey" cover, I love it.
The only problem I had was that it was difficult to get one edge (the bottom) to snap. Eventually I discovered that the front snap-on cover absolutely has to be hooked from the bottom first - If you do that the other snaps engage easily with no trouble.

Best screen protector?

Hey guys, I'm just wondering what do you think the best screen protector for the Nook is?
I'm looking for clarity mostly, but feel is important too.
I usually wouldn't ask such a basic question, but after 20 minutes of googling there doesn't seem to be anyone who's asked this question before lol. I don't understand it either because I know not all screen protectors are made equally, so there has to be some comparison but I can't find anything.
Thanks.
edit: Then again, if I get a case do I need a screen protector? Hmm.......I can't even decide if I want a case or just keep it in a neoprene bag.

I tried serveral different screen protectors for my NST, but found that they all add a significant amount of glare. One of the best things about this device is daylight readability in direct sunlight, and they all ruined that experience, so I just do without.
I have mine in a silicone cover, and put it in a zipped rigid cover for travel. So far, so good. This thing cost so little that I'd rather maximize enjoyment rather and use it rater than obsess about its health. Carpe Diem and all that.
The NSTG doesn't need a screen protector, and adding one can actually cause issues, the NST only sort of suggests using one and honestly you'd be fine without one.
The thin sheet of material that comprises most screen protectors wont do anything to protect the NST/G screens. But it adds another layer between you and the text, and can block the infrared sensors on the Nook.

Looking for a case with a raised front lip but recessed sides (like s7 edge)

I'm looking for a case that attaches at the four corners and has a raised lip/bumper at the top and bottom of the phone to protect the screen when the phone is face down. Attaching at the corners provides drop protection since those are the most vulnerable spots on impact and being recessed at the sides will add minimal bulk when holding and using the phone without getting in the way of sliding in from the edges. In a nutshell, like the S7 edge cases, but for my S7 regular. I've spent hours browsing amazon, ebay, google and searching through forums and I'm hoping someone knows of a case with these features.
Starting from my Nexus 4, then my Sony Z3, then my G4, I've always had to settle or customize (cut) cases but I'm hoping I don't have to do that for the S7. Does anyone know of a case like I described?
Thanks!
Hi, I'd be interested in this too. I've done a lot of research but with no luck either. I suspect nothing like this exists for the S7.
I emailed Spigen and got this response.
Currently, we do not have definite plans to have cases with recessed sides for other cases.
However, we will definitely consider your interest and pass it along to our developers! Thank you for the suggestion.

I didn't get my hopes up. I'll continue to keep my eyes out, but have ordered the VRS Design Verge from amazon now. At $7, I don't mind cutting into it. The polycarbonate is recessed on the sides, even though the gpu doesn't. I'll be taking an exacto knife to it as seen below. I'll probably see how well the buttons still work and then try cutting it deeper to where I'll be accessing the original phone's volume/power buttons. I'll post pictures as I go along for anyone interested.
After trying over 10 branded cases my vote goes to Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262301410361
The Turata Slim Fit case has a minimal lip, but does not satisfy your criteria because it still covers the left and right edges:

It looks so good, have bought one

S8 cover that flips up (instead of down)?

Hi all,
I am looking for a flip cover (preferably leather) where the front flips up instead of down. All vertical flip covers I have seen so far flip down, so that the front flap dangles below the device.
Any ideas / pointers are much appreciated.

Stilgut make good cases. Could be a hair slimmer (and I personally don't like the white stitching on the black case), but their cases are good quality and feel nice in the hand.
I've contacted Noreve (www.noreve.com), but they're not interested.
I guess we'll have to keep fingers crossed!
