I bought the piel frama flip case, but have sent it back. It didn't hold my HD tightly, and I wasn't happy with the alignment of the holes. Also the front cover was quite padded, adding to the thickness of the device plus case. So now I'm looking at the noreve. I had a noreve case for my tytn II. it held the device very securely, but the front cover was sort of loose, so that when it was closed you could move the front cover around quite a lot which I didn't like. Is the front cover of the flip case for the hd tight when its buttoned down?

Define "quite a bit".
There is some travel in the noreve of approx 2-3mm side to side on mine which acceptable for me.

i second that.
Overall quality is really good (got the premium leather one), but i have to say all such cases add quite some bulk to the device. So when not on the go, i tend to use the HD without the case.
Also it's a real pain to press the close button in win6.1 because the case comes to close to it and obstruct operation
noreve
well I got the noreve and I prefer it to the Pia. having said that I find myself drifting back to my Beyza slip case, because it adds less bulk and the phone is easier and nicer to use naked.

Why do you say Noreve is better than Piel Frama?
Does the pouch make HD more bulky?
Is the internal of the pouch made of soft fabric? Don't want it to scratch the sides of the HD, when we have to pull the HD in or out sometimes.

I also have the noreve pouch. All the holes align perfectly.
The internal is quite soft and smooth leather, and a good fit, needs a bit of a push to get it out, but i'm not afraid of any sand/dust getting inside of it. Also, it doesn't feel bulky at all, slightly padded for the front flap but doesn't really add bulk to it. Feels really good in my hands. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
edit: Just wish it would cover the left bottom corner, but still a very good case.

Some pics of the case. Sorry pics aren't so clear, handheld shots with room lighting but you should still be able to see the alignment and the design.

Questions about Noreve case
Hey people, I had some questions about the Noreve case:
1) I was about to get the Piel Frama case until I read that the holes don't align with the cameras, speakers, etc. Are you sure the front camera isn't obstucted by the Noreve case? And have you taken a pic with the main camera with the case on yet?...it seems like the pics would end up darker since the hole in the case isn't exactly flush against the camera. The same with the light sensor...does the case cause a shadow over the sensor causing it to think you're in the dark and dim the backlight?
2) What's the quality of the belt clip? I will have to use it everyday, is it something that can easily break? I know Noreve had a very cheap belt clip in the past and were supposed to change it, but is this one as good as the Piel Frama one?
3) I can't tell by the pics exactly...does any edge of the phone stick out beyond the case? It seems like if you drop it on the right corner, it could possibly hit the phone...
Thank ya.
My Noreve flip case should be here today or tomorrow. Piel Frama is nice, but at $110CAN, it's too pricy...and I've had Noreve before, they make very good quality cases. The flip is $45US and along with there new fangled METAL belt clip, cost was $77CAN to get it here.
I choose Noreve because I don't like the closing part of the Piel Frama because I cannot use the headset, the case doesn't have a hole for headphone jack.
My Noreve case was arrived today and I'm very happy with it. It fits perfectly.

are all the holes flushed with the device or is there gap causing a shadow? I'm asking because this could interfere with the light sensor and camera...

My english is not so good and because of this I upload some images in order to see it.
i'm sorry, i thought you had the flip case. thanks for posting the pics
decided on the Noreve
Well, after spending way too long in determining the best case out there for the HD, I decided on the black Noreve flip case. I decided against the Piel Frama case bc the holes didn't align with the phone properly and it had a plastic belt clip connector as opposed to the metal one on the Noreve (however, both belt clips are plastic).
I found a 15% discount code for noreveUSA that you can use online or over the phone: Holiday15. If for some reason that code doesn't work, there's a 10% discount code that I know works bc they gave it to me: Cardme.
For those who decide on the Piel Frama case, the cheapest I've found it to be was here. It says $59 but when you add it to your cart, it automatically gives you a discount so the total with shipping is about $54.
Hopefully this helps...I'll let yall know how I like the Noreve when it arrives
Piel Frama holes do fit
All,
I have the piel frama black leather flip case and the holes do align perfectly, granted I have the black case, I am quite happy with my case although at the bottom of the screen / call hang up back button there is a small curve showing the base bevel slightly... as you can see in all previous pictures of the black flip case.
maybe the tan case previously discussed was a one off??
Well after looking at both of these as I said at the start I went for the Noreve flip case since it was better quality and did not have the annoying button on the back for attaching to your belt.
Any other screenshots?
Are the ones you have magnetic or have a button clip?
Piel Frama screenshots

As U can see - it's perfect

Which button? Leather from the P.F. is better quality then the Noreve. I dont like the "plastic look" from the Noreve.
i just bought the cellet holster for tmob tp2 from ebay for $9.99 and it is perfect.
Cellet Rubberized Elite Holsters is the best. the elite holster is made of a hard plastic that has a rubberized texture coating for extra grip and durability. When you insert the phone you will hear it "click" into place. Phone is ultra secure within the holster. You can press the release tab on the top of the holster to remove your phone. The belt clip on this holster is awesome. Clip will turn/lock in different positions. The clip has a slim profile so it will not extend far from your waist and bump into things. You can access the charger port, volume, memory, etc. There is also a cutout for the camera on the back of the holster. This holster is designed to fit the phone face-out but it will also fit face-inward. Attach to your side and always have quick access to your phone.
i did buy a week before this one, the bodyglove case and was very disappointed. the case dug into the side of the phone, was begging to take up the protective stickers on the keyboard, and was very bulky, and when clip to my belt stuck to far out. two thumbs down for bodyglove,,,,,
two thumbs up for cellet holster!!!!

nice find.....i just ordered a different rubberized case for my Tmo TP2 but i may pick this one up as well. I agree with you about the bodyglove case. That thing has caused more harm to my phone than good (i.e. scratched keyboard and overall abrasive fit while it cradles the phone). given the pic above i'll def. have to check out the cellet holster.
one full day of playing around with it: IT STILL ROCKS. IT IS AS SOLID AS.... WELL A ROCK! LOL . great feel, and not bulky at all
yeah!thanks!!good work!

Oh yeah, I would never walk around with the screen exposed to the elements / harmful objects that could scratch, damage, or kill the screen.
you can flip the phone around to protect it some more the back of the case is cut out for the camera and speaker though, it has two small squares and a small rectangle
Looking for a knock off (read: cheaper) version of this case. Main points im interested in are;
Completely flat back side (open around camera, thickness of the case should provide protection)
Single piece construction (i HATE the two piece snap on covers)
Thin overall construction (add only minimal bulk to the phone)
I have a TPU case and it would be great if the back was flat, the raised part around the camera causes the phone not to lay flat on its back, easy to rotate when sitting on a table and using it. The snap on cover i bought is constructed in a similar fashion, raised area around the camera. I believe the thickness of the case will be about the same dimensions of the protruding camera. Also, 2 piece clip on cases suck. Single piece, one click.
I feel there is acceptable quality cases out there, just tough sometimes to find the exact style. Thx guys.

I figured something out to hold me over. As i suspected, the thickness of the TPU soft case is just barely thicker than the amount that the camera protrudes. A little time this morning with my pocket knife and voila!
You can buy a TPU case with a camera cut out. It will have a much cleaner look. You can probably buy off what for a few dollars.

What you linked is like the Case Mate Barely There Case. The only difference I notice is that the Body Glove version has a flat back side. The Case Mate has a bump out for the camera. If you are fine with the bump out, check out
CaseMate cheaper version
I got this and the other one listed on the site. They are the same, this is slightly more expensive.
Other Case Mate version, slight more $$
Both are extremely thin, minimal difference in size when holding the 3VO naked or with case.
Just ordered the Krusell flip case and then got the belt clip to go with it.
If you have any questions about these items then feel free to ask away and I'll tell you as much as I can as soon as it arrives.

KRUSELL MULTIDAPT LEATHER SWIVELKIT SWIVEL KIT 45 45MM BELT CLIP FOR CASE ORBIT
Recieved my Krusell case the other day and its excellent in almost every way. The build quality is fantastic an even has that luxurious leather smell to it. Very strong and sturdy/well made case.
Flip cover folds downwards and can be slid off as well. I thought I wouldn't use the detachment feature but I use it all the time if I'm handling the phone a lot. You could even use the case completely without the flip cover and it would give you better protection than an Imak case (which I had first off).
It also has the option of a belt clip - which can be removed and Krusell has a lot of useful and different styled attachments. It comes with a alegator type belt clip that connects to the phone by a round plastic button attached to the case and this clip is a non swivel model - great for normal sized belts (thin/narrow).
I wear a combat style belt for work so I ordered the 45mm belt clip which slides onto the belt and can not come off without taking the belt off. The clip is a swivel clip and it clips in and holds super well.
Protects the phone very very well - there are holes etc but its made in such a way that its very hard for surfaces to come in contact with the phone at all. If you dropped the phone in this case it would be very well protected.
The cover looks as though it would probably outlive the phone.
The inside of the case is a soft suede leather which means that any dust or dirt getting in between the phone and the case is not going to act like sandpaper as in the hard cases - ie no scratching.
The only thing I noticed after a couple of days use is the the case loosened up slightly and the phone would move approx 1-2 mm out towards the top of the case making grabbing/sliding down the blind hard to access. I solved this by some double sided tape inside the case. I peeled off one side of the tape and stuck it to the inside of the case then slid the phone in and then gently pulled the case away from the phone and pulled the other side of the tape off with some tweezers and then pushed the case together - now the phone doesnt slide anywhere and is securely stuck inside the case and all the button/mic/camera holes line up perfectly.
Highly recommended and worth considering even if your thinking about an Imak style case because you can remove the clip button and the flip face and you have a similar but better case all round - the only drawback is possibly the price but compared to the price and capabilities of this phone I didnt think it too bad, especially if you work in moderate to extreme conditions.
What do you mean the flip part can be left off? Pics?
It slides off from where it attaches on the back of the case. I'll get some pic's at some point.

I spose it does leave it a little "exposed" but this is so you can use the front facing camera and light sensors etc and even so its only a couple of mm and the leather on top of it is quite thick so to get something to touch that part of the phone I either have to aim the object at it or hold the phone at a 45degree angle to rub the plastic on the table. But then again with the flap on its covered by the clip strap.

Yip thats the one.
First Impressions:
The case comes in two parts. There's the jacket part that has a front flap with a leather texture, and the hard plastic part that can detach from the jacket. The front flap does not have a magnet, it simply just folds over the front of the phone, so there's no problem with interference.
The detachable plastic case feels like any regular plastic case. There's a small lip on the front so if you place your phone face down on a flat surface your screen won't scratch. The back of the case provides little camera protection as it sits flush with the lens.
However, once you put the jacket part on, it adds a little bit of thickness allowing the lens to sit in a small pocket.
The jacket part of the case has a thinner plastic base that bends slightly, but does not feel overly flimsy. The flap is attached by a stitching on the back of the case and seems to be well constructed. Along with the flap, the inside of the plastic case is covered by a suede type of felt which protects the two plastic cases from rubbing against each other. The flap has three card slots built into it. However, if you have cards in all three slots, I found that it added significant overall thickness when the case is closed.
The cutouts on the case are perfect! I didn't have any trouble accessing any of the buttons or pulling out the S-Pen.
My main problem with this case is the price. It cost my fiancee about $43 with tax from the AT&T store. Coming from a $10 Spigen Bounce case, it's quite a price difference.
Overall, I give this case an 8.5/10.
The price of this case is a bit hard to swallow, but otherwise, it's a great case so far.
I'll update this review once i've had more time to use it. Thanks for reading!
Thanks for the review. That looks like just the type of case I'm looking for. Does it remove from the "jacket" pretty easily? I imagine there needs to be a balance between not being cumbersome to remove, but sturdy enough to stay put. I have been concerned about getting a wallet type case since I dock my phone when I drive. This looks like just the solution. Would like to see if I can save a few bucks, though. That is more than I have spent on my last 10 cases combined (I'm cheap).
The removal of the case from the jacket requires a little effort, but it's not terribly hard to take apart. It's got a good balance to it, it's not just going to come apart while in your pocket or while you're using it.
is there any auto wake/sleep lock function with the case?
No there's not, the jacket detaches easily but the hard plastic does not
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I had this case for a smaller phone and could never get it to stand up like a kickstand like you have in one of your pictures. How sturdy is everything when you have it propped up like that?
I got one also and im digging it so far especially the taking it apart and still having a case on it. Playing Real Racing with the flap attached is just a pain sometimes. Although I used my company discount thru VZW and got mine for 25 and some change. I get a 35% discount on accessories from VZW.
