before, my htc tytn had a problem, it not recognize the gsm sim and no IMEI showed on informations of the PDA.
I supposed that it was a problem of radio rom, and I followed the instructions given on (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665) to unlock and update my radio rom, unfortunately, after the operation began the spl1.60 was downgraded to 1.40.Olipro but can't progress in flashing, the htc hermes SIM CID Unlocker 3.12.3.7 has encountered an 262 (update error), a recovery operation was guided but no result, from this error my htc still showing the three colours screen like below:
HERM200
IPL-1.01
HERM200
SPL-1.40.Olipro
please help me to restore my phone, there is indispensable for my job to get e-mails

If you're using XP then update .net framework to 3.5.
Go to activesync settings on pc and untick "Allow USB connection".
Reconnect Hermes to PC, go to bootloader (you need to reset to bootloader, true bootloader, not bricked bootloader). Run RUU_Wrapper.exe again. Should get you out of tricolour screen.
When you finish unlocking the Hermes install Hard SPL V7, go to post 1160, page 116 of this thread for sd card method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722

Thank you for your response but what do you mean by (you need to reset to bootloader, true bootloader, not bricked bootloader).
At the moment you can read the IPL and SPL on your screen, 3 coloured bands running down the screen. This is NOT true bootloader. You need to hold power, ok button above flywheel and reset with the stylus to go to real bootloader. Looks the same but is real and not a cocked up version.

SPL-1.40.Olipro
I suppose that the real bootloader was replaced by the second one from Olipro.

No, the info you give is right, you upgraded the SPL to 1.40. However, just doing a reset with stylus may bring you to that screen but there may be a fundamental difference in how it flashes the SPL again. You need to do the bootloader reset to make sure that there will be no problems upgrading or you may end up with an unrecoverable brick. It may be fine to use the "bootloader" screen you get with a reset, but its your Hermes you will loose if something goes kaka.... And withot Hard SPL V7, you may not be able to recover it...

I am currently trying to downgrade my spl before sending my phone to be repaired. I am following the Mrvanx guide. Unforunately, I am sending my phone back because the screen input no longer works. Therefore, I can't get past the windows mobile setup screen. So, I can't get activesync to work and therefore can't force use SSPL to downgrade my SPL.... ( RUUWrapper doesn't think there is a phone connected)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Which bootloader are you on??
Same as you:
IPL: 1.04
SPL: 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7)
I'm trying to do the two part process of downgrading...

Were you able to downgrade? I'm in the same boat, no screen taps and can't downgrade to 1.10.
Read Mrvanx's SPL downgrade guide but it fails with a comm error during the 2.10 to 1.10 downgrade using hard-sspl. If I select 2.10 as the boot loader it seems to load the spl ( gives me progress bar) but when I go back to the boot loader it's still at 2.10 Olipro.
My touch screen is dead and have to return for warranty after receiving replacement or AT&T going charge me. Screen always stuck at " Tap Hear to setup".

Bypassed aligment and was able to downgrade
In case some poor schmoe finds this in the future, I was able to get around the screen alignment and downgrade my spl.
I found how to bypass welcome screen here:

Once I did this, I was able to say "Yes" to running enterbl.exe and downgraded to olipro 1.10 using mrvanx's guide and then re-flashed the original cingular ROM which also flashed spl.

ok. so i download the Hard-SPL-V7 and it works. and it says that up there on my boot loader. but what is my bootloader version? 1.40? or 1.04? and what is this talk of the SPL-2.10.Olipro. how do i get that? im confused
oh another thing. why does it freeze on the GSM- part when i use the SDcard method? anyone? help thank you
the latest bootloader is 2.10.Olipro (the latest official one I've released for general consumption)
to flash it, please do remember NOT to put your phone in bootloader and to have activesync synced.
IPL is Initial Program Loader, and is generally not too exciting.
SPL is Secondary Program Loader and this one handles flashing etc and is the one with the exciting crap you need to patch.
have you been able to flash GSM with SD or somehow else ?

Please help me, as its very urgent. I have been upgrading to various ROM's every now and then. Recently I did a blunder, as While upgrading with One of the ROM (Black Majik) i selected SPL 2.10 instead of Force SSPL and while upgrading USB Connection get lost.
Now I am only getting the Splash Screen showing HTC, when i Hard Reset my phone I do not get IPL and SPL version displayed and it takes my to the Splash Screen again.
Please help me in finding a way i can recover my phone.

Try a hard reset...
If that doesn't work and you have Hard SPL on your phone upgrade using the sd card method.
As for your IPL and SPL, what do you see when you go to bootloader? That shows your IPL & SPL. To get to bootloader press power, OK button next to flywheel and soft reset with stylus. Hold all three buttons until you get to tri-colour screen. That will tell you what IPL & Spl you have.

Thanx for help. I could get my IPL and SPL info. But still i am not been able to get any rom installed on my device as it get stuck on that tri-color screen and rom up gradation wizards comes with different rom looks for activesync connection with the device. I am not been able to boot my device so that i can upgrade it to specific rom. Is there any way i can install a ROM without having active sync connection with the device...

IF you have flashed Hard SPL on your phone you have a good Chance...
If you haven't and its under warranty you might be able to get them to fix for you.
Assuming you have Hard SPLed your phone, try the sd card method - format up to 2gb sd card fat32. copy the .nbh file from the rom upgrade to the sd card.Rename the .nbh file to "hermimg.nbh". Reset phone. As you keep going into bootloader you wont have to manually do that. It should recognize the os flash and prompt you to hit the power button to proceed...
PLEASE NOTE - THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOUR SPL IS 2.10 OLIPRO...
Hope you upgraded your SPL cos you will only have a paper weight otherwise..

hi, i tried in win xp but keep the same in boot mode...
On the PC, in activesync settings, untick "Allow USB Connection".
Put Hermes into bootloader (tri-colour screen) and then run the RUU_Wrapper.exe file of the unlocker program. Follow all the instructions to unlock your Hermes and once its unlocked put Hard SPL V7 on it BEFORE flashing any thing else. After flashing Hard SPL V7, go back to bootloader and check SPL is 2.10 oli.
You now have a Hermes that is easier to recover if somehing goes wrong with a flash, excluding radio rom flashes.

I have a Hermes here (MDA version from Tmobile UK)
We know the customer has quite literally "fingered" the unit in all ways possible
At the time, he "claimed" to be a windows mobile developer who invented WM5 - dare I say more?
OK so the Hermes is doing the following:
Stuck on Bootloader screen
Herm300
IPL-1.04
Herm300
SPL-2.03
When I do a hard reset via the two soft keys and reset button, the phone boots up with the t-mobile splash with Test Only Not For Sale
Carries on booting, goes through the whole setting up procedure
Then on the reboot, it goes back to bootloader
Now Once I managed to reset and it simply booted in with me using the phone perfectly
The second time I reset, the phone went into a white screen but you could tell it was booting up.
I'm now back in bootloader which refuses to go any further.
Tried running Hard-SPL on it but it can't seem to detect the unit despite it going from Serial to USB
Appreciate any help
On PC (if u use XP), untick "Allow USB Connections" in activesync settings. Put Hermes into bootloader and connect to pc.
Install Hard SPL. Hermes WILL be detected by the Installation program.
Then try installing a new OS, now you should have Hard SPL I'd use the sd card method.
1. Format 2Gb or less sd card FAT32.
2. Copy .nbh file of the rom you want to it and rename to hermimg.nbh.
3 Insert into Hermes and reset to bootloader, follow the instructions....
Should install a new OS and get rid of that "testing only" message.
