Phone call screen? - Touch Pro CDMA

When I call my voice mail, and it ask for pin the screen is black, and fumble around to get to keyboard. Any fix for this? Dave.

not necessarily a fix, but a convenient workaround....
set your voicemail number to automatically dial your pin by going to your dialpad, click Menu, Options, then change the Voicemail phone number to xxxxxxxxxxpyyyy#
x = your voicemail phone number
p = the letter P
y = your pin
# = the # symbol
the p inserts a pause and the yyyy will type in a four-digit pin for you. I have it this way since I use a hands-free connection with my car and voice dialing voicemail automatically connects now.
hope this helps!

Thanks I will try that. Dave.

you can also just disable the passcode in your voicemail settings

it gets a little trick on 2003 here's why. In the \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Vmail there is no RegOverridesSIM key beleive it or not I a non-programmer am going to teach you anyone how to write a registry key (only for this instance! It's probably not really this easy. I had no idea what I was doing. Just guessed right the first time, shew!) OK kids here we go (doing this wrong may well destroy the very fabric of our 4 dimensional universe or.....It'll just #%[email protected] up your machine ):
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Vmail
Then from edit on the command bar select "New DWORD Value"
Value Name: RegOverridesSIM
Value data: 1
Base: Decimal
Hit OK
Now go to Phone Number 1 Edit your phone number to include your pauses and password or what not under
Value Data
and hit OK
Exit the program (Close It not minimize)
Soft Reset your device and that's it!

how do i add a pause...

guys been wondering if i can do something like a hard pause or pause for n secs so that i can setup a contact to lets say dial 1800 xxx xxxx pause1 sec and then dial 011 xx xxx xxxxxxxxxx
basically for internationall calling i use a 1800 # that then ties it to my home phone rates so is there a way?

sticking a comma ( , ) where you want the pause usually does the trick.
Entering the letter p puts a pause in. I have my voice mail set up to automatically enter my password in. All I did was add voice mail as one of my contacts, with my mobile number immediately followed with a p then my password, no spaces in between any of it. You could add, say, two p's in a row and see if that pauses it longer. I think it might.
I don't know if it's case sensitive, but I used lower case p. Anyway, it does work and is quite convenient.

How to change default voice mail number on speed dial "1"

Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the default voice mail number that is set to speed dial "1"? I came from BB and there is an option to enter a password for my voice mail. All I want to do is to add my voice mail password into the default voice mail number. This way I don't have to enter a password when I check voice mail.
Thank you guys!
its under settings/call settings, the problem for me is that its greyed out so I can't edit it. Hopefully you have more success.

Same here! It's greyed out. Anyone?
If you're on AT&T, the VM has a feature where it turns off the need to type in the security code if the call is coming from the handset that the VM is storing messages for. If you dial in on another line, the system will prompt for the security code.
I think this is a better method than entering the code into the dialing process.
yeah either rogers or bell used to do that. (thinking it was bell landline)

[Q] keypad not working on calls: how to?

when making calls i need the keypad to enter numerical choices for voice prompts. however my keypad is not making that 'beep' sound that the prompt listens for. so the call does not progress.
what can i do to use the keypad for those calls that require numerical inputs for voice prompts?

you don't need any beep sounds in order to control numerical choices, just press the digits and it works.

i tried it on a different phone number and the keypad does work.
it was only on that phone number which probably relied on keypad sounds to activate the prompts.
the annoying thing is that was the phone number of my cell service provider which i had to reach!

This doesn't make sense, something else is wrong. The digits you press during the call to a landline (without any beep in your end) causes the correct beep sound to be generated by the mobile network and sent to the other end of the call.
I just tested this myself by calling my home number to be sure I wasn't lying
I think you are searching for the wrong solution to your problem.
EDIT: here is the ETSI spec describing how it works if you like specifications

there must be something wrong with my cellphone providers support prompts.
i tested with my bank and 2 other credit cards and the keypad does register input with them.
it is only with that one number that i am having issues on.

Voice dialing and answering?

I'm trying to work out if it's possible to voice dial as well as answer any incoming calls by voice?
This would be while I'm driving, so ideally it should require no physical input from me to unlock the phone and say a name to dial.
It would be nice if when entering my car I swipe the phone over a NFC sticker which activates some mode that enables this, then the same to disable when leaving.
I have the security pattern on to unlock and would rather keep it on.
