Hi, this is my first post at this great forum..
Is it possible to have Android firmware 1.6 on the HTC Hero, without HTC Sense (essentially the 1.6 you would find on a G1)?
If so, can someone point me in the right direction to find out how to do this.
Much thanks - Sorry if there is already a thread like this, I searched but didn't find anything matching.
This question has been answered several times. Please use the search tool on the forum?
Could you please post a link to a thread answering my question.
As stated above, I used to search tool to no avail.
Thanks.
Edit: I have found it after a lot of searching.

Mind posting a link so that others (who search and find this thread) can benefit from your searching?

For sure.

- This thread essentially asks the same question I am asking, it seems impossible for the moment other than disabling the sense home screen and some other random hacks to remove HTC applications.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567672
- This thread is the development page for developing a clean 1.6 for Heroes.
Its pretty much impossible at the moment to maintain all functionality while removing the Sense interface which is a real shame. That is, unless I have missed something.
Hope this helps.

It is more that in order to get everything working (hardware wise), the kernel source is pretty much required and we don't have it (yet!).

Hi fellows,
Have you ever thought about remapping the Power Button to act as Camera Shutter. Unfortunately Samsung in our machine hadn't make any dedicated button for camera.
Is there any option to make something like that? Is it hard to achieve? Where to start?

A search button would be of more use .

The links you gave don't have a solution for the SGS2. Searching for something doesn't automatically mean finding something of value. Is there anyone working on a hack like this? I'm using tasker with a gesture at the moment but I find the process quite clunky in all honesty...

If you read the threads that were linked to, you would find that other people have asked and that there isnt a solution yet. I.e. No one is working on it.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Premium App
Maybe someone will see this post then, and will work on a solution.

I hope so. I suppose it is achievable, but it requires modifying ROM or some parts of Android system files. I wish I had enough knowledge to try find out how it can be achieved.

Have you done yet? Chill out and if you don't have anything clever to say, then stay quiet.
Perhaps you should chill out. I am asking about a feature, in a calm way. It is a valid question, and one that will perhaps drive someone to solve this particular issue. If it isn't an issue for you, please kindly troll another thread.

The issue is simple users who only want to repeat the exact same question day after day .
How the f** can anyone find time to do what you want answering the same question day after day and yes i should ignore the morons .

Alright, ignorning the 14 year old, the only way I found to use the camera is by making a gesture in Tasker, an app you can find in the market. It's pretty much an overkill for that, but it does work.
Here is the relevant page in the Tasker wiki, perhaps it will be of help someone:
http://tasker.wikidot.com/camera-gesture
I'm sure a better solution can be found, though.
Would love to have it too. Though When pushing the powerbutton you risk of shaking more. But in the end yes please
Hi,
I am currently using OnlyOne rom. I have read through bunch of threads but could not find answers to what changing DPI does. I think I know how to but just don't know why you should or what it does. If anyone could explain to me that would be helpful. Thanks!

No disrespect but you didnt read thru a whole bunch of threads
cuz if you did you woulda of known
but anyways DPI is the dinsity and if changed properly on the note
you get enable "Tablet Mode"
and it changes the complete look of the screen depending on how high or low
you set the density
That is... freaking awesome!
I will make sure to do more research next time. Thanks for replying
Hello friends...
I would like to know if anyone has been able or knows how to root the BV7000 PRO (Blackview). I have read some manuals that are on the net suggesting to do it with KINGROOT or Rootkhpo, but I have tried them and I do not get them to work.
Thank you so much for your attention

Hi, how are you? ... Well, we'll be waiting if any friends can find a way to root this model, for now as I said, there is nothing, the options offered on the net are ineffective. Please if you find something, let me know, I leave my email: [email protected]. Thank you very much.
