rapidshare link Charmer Kitchen
some extra OEM packs OEM pack
this are OEM packs I got from the wizard forum so I take no credit for them
download and extract
do not delete anything in SYS folder that you don't know what it does
OEM folder you can add things and delete things you don't want...
ROM folder most be untouched same with tools folder they are there for building the OS
start BuildOS and choses what apps you want and press the green play button and wait for it to finish.. it will make a folder called temp
now press CreatROM and wait for it to finish if there is any error then you have included to many apps in the BuildOS then you most go back to BuildOS step and remove some app
if no error then go to the temp folder and flash the OS.nb file to your phone
I'll upload an other zip later with much more OEM pack that you can use in building you custom rom....
Is it possible to put some other rom in the ROM folder? like the Essentials rom from nocturne? Would it work?
(I'm pretty new to all of this, sorry for dumb questions )
you can use also my rom for cooking - the only problem is that i'm lazy to release my own kitchen - it needs some cleanup, files there are in terrible mess but i promised to release it, i must do so once...
And would that resolve the driver issue? Like bluetooth and camera? Or would i also have to change something in the SYS folder?
Hi guys
As you might know I do not have a charmer myself.... but it way pointed out to me by anja31.. that one of my roms that I made for Prophet did work for Charmer...
So I downloaded nocturne's wm6 rom added some of my stuf and then made a rom for that anja31 tried and found that it worked but hat problem with bluetooth so what I did is I replaced the bluetooth dll's from nocturne's rom with the once I have.....and if the camera from nocturne's rom worked before then I should also in this kitchen.
Yes you can change the content of ROM folder if you know what you are doing
but now have fun and make some wm6 roms for charmer
Thanks for the kitchen gullum ! I'll play with it & report back. You revived the "Charmer-Scene" for me, thanks for your work.

Hi Ramersonw,
That was fast man, you did it! First of all, let me congratulate and thank you for your great work. It was really nice of you to take time out of your schedule and make the very much needed kitchen for gene. Thanks a lot! It really must have been some hard work. Atleast somebody took the initiative to do it.
Now coming my experience with it. I have a P3400i (New Gene) with Onbl 1.17.000 and SPL 1.07.Oref (patched).
I, for obivious resons selected the "New Gene" radio button while building the ROM. As my first experience with it, i tried to build the ROM with default settings, just added back the Transcriber packages to the OEM part.
At first, the process started and BuildOS built the files, but on the registry part it gave an error building the main registry hives. I looked at the log file in dump folder and it listed a .rgu (registry setting) file missing which, on checking , i found that is present in the XIP_OLD folder but not in XIP folder, so i copied the file from there to the XIP folder and tried again. Bingo! it worked, G'Reloc ran and then the htcrt tool merged the OS_new.nb and extrom.nb successfully.
For people who are experiencing the registry error, please look at the log file in dump folder which is automatically created during the build process and look at the last line where it is saying that xxxxxxx.rgu file is missing. Find that file in the folder where your kitchen is. It will be in some XIP_NEW folder, copy it to the adjacent XIP folder.
After that, when i flashed the ROM to my phone, it flashed completly fine to 100% and the RUU tool showed No Error. But after that, phone was hung on the HTC splash screen/boot screen. It is showing the Onbl, spl, radio and OS versions and after some time, the radio starts which is chracterised by the blinking of green LED. but it doesn't boots furthur. I checked for 20 mins.
I tried some combinations of packages as well but no avail. I think the problem is with the XIP as i have read many times on this forum, this problem happens whenever ppl flash invalid XIP partition to the device. And after radio initialization, i think the next thing that happens is the initialization of XIP area for loading the main parts of OS (i could be wrong, these are just my assumptions).
Also, if i select the Single Package option, the exe that does it gives and error and quits. But the build process continues even after that.
So, all in all the UI is great, its usable and pretty and we can talk about it later. First this issue needs to be ironed out.
What do say brother?
PS: I tried all these operations on Vista as well as XP Pro SP3.
hi people
Sorry for the broken link. I have some problems with rapidshare so i upload the kitchen to another server here (1st post updated too)
To krazy_about_technology
I made a few modifications to xip. Please test it. If not work this time send me the xip.bin or os.nb of any rom that works on your device (wm6.1). That way I could analise it and update kitchen. I can't test here because i have an old gene (HT7xx).
PS. Transcriber goes to SYS not OEM.
can u plz upload only modify xip.bin

thanks for reuploading

Hey Ankit, that's not gonna work as the XIP is that part of the system that does not have to loaded into the RAM. The executables in this parts must be of the same CE OS build that the rest of the ROM is. These executables have their headers stripped off as no relocation of addresses takes place, that only happens when the file is loaded into RAM. So these files always run at fixed memory addresses.(This is as far as i know, i could be wrong). So Ramersonw will have to build the XIP from the same OS that he is using. He just wants the your XIP to look at it and figure out what needs to be corrected.
@Ramersonw: Buddy thanks for the quick response. I am downloading the file uploaded at new location. I hope this contains the changes you did. I'll try this and post here the details. The 4Shared site is very slow today, maybe because of the undersea cable cuts. I m getting only 7-14 KBps rite now
i download reuploaded file but still there is problem
Improved but the problem remains
Hi Ramersonw,
I tried the newly uploaded kitchen. The registry file problem is gone and the ROM building process is smooth now, but, the XIP problem remains as it is.
As ankit360 has posted the XIP of LomLom's fusion ROM, i am attaching with this mail, the XIP of WM 6.1 Stock ROM (look a like, actually). Its a very plain looking vanilla 6.1 ROM with quiet old CE OS and apps, but this one and lomlom's fusion both run fine on New Gene devices. I and many others like ankit360 have personally tested that. So please have a look.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Krazy and ankit360
I'll look these xip tonight. Thanks for the files. When i have a solution i'll post here.
Hi Krazy
I saw the xips. Problem appear to be missing files on xip. Both lomlom and the stock rom that ankit360 and you upload missing some files (*.rgu especificaly). I guess these ROM are protected.
To make this kitchen, I used an official rom from HTC (wm6.0 for old gene) as basis. So for the new genes I need an original xip (wm6.0) to port to new build and send to you for test.
If you or anyone have this ROM please upload to me.
Sorry 4 my english.
Here is the XIP you needed!
Hey Ramersonw,
Thats great! I am attaching herewith the XIP and BootXIP from Windows Mobile 6 ROM that comes with P3400i in Asia, India, ie. My Phone I think that will suffice for your needs.

I tested on my device and the generated rom works very well.
The rom generated for my kitchen only have os.nb and extrom.nb, if any error occur and your device don't boot you only need to flash another cooked rom or the official rom without ipl/spl/radio.

Hi all,
I have been using the kitchen that jerpelea originally posted here for us and have been happily cooking ever since...but I would like to change to the new ervius kitchen and have done quite a bit of reading but still can't figure out the exact way to layout the kitchen for the Nike.
Can someone who is using this kitchen for the Nike please pm or post a link so that I can download it and look at how it is set up for the Nike?
If you need somewhere to upload it, pm me and I can give you a temporary ftp site I can access.
I am not being lazy, just trying to get my head around it
thanks in advance.

hi,
i use the ervius for my nike to translate in german 0407.
i have downloaded newest kitchen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420
general informations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521632
it is for raphael, but i do it this way for nike too.
4 a lite tutorial i have a link for you
http://anryl.freeforums.org/kitchen-multidevice-ervius-pictorial-t8.html
!!! you have to dump an ORIGINAL-ROM first.
happy testings...
Why don't you try a "simple" plateform rebuilder-based kitchen ?
Here's my toolset. Just copy your OEM, SYS and ROM folders in.
Then drag'n drop OEM on \TOOLSET\oem2ext.exe to convert packages to EXT packages (optional).
For ROM folder, look here : http://www.bepe80.com/test/1
Then launch build_rom.bat, chose your keys number and let's go
Well, why you don't download a full kitchen, for an example from Raphael section, and dump your oldschool cooked ROM with it? That#s the way I did it with my ROM!
Now I can cook both for Diamond and Nike with the same Kitchen!
thanks for the info guys, I will try and stick with the ervius one. I have dumped a ROM and it setup the base kitchen.
So more questions...
1. How do I convert my existing OEM apps into this new format?
2. does anyone use this to port xip's, as it seems I get an error when I try? I followed Sous-Chef's instructions, but get an error relating to dumpxip.bat and the xip.bin
thanks for your help
DT
1. look after oem2ext.exe, then drag'n drop OEM folder and all your packages named PACKAGE_<device or anything you want>_<package name> will be converted to EXT packages in \EXT\<device or anything you want>\<package name>_version.
If your packages are not named this way, they'll stay in OEM.
2. to easily port XIP, look here : http://www.bepe80.com/test/2, bepe is explaining how to upgrade XIP very, very easily (I can tell that's easy since I can do it ).
The new problematic is to convert your XIP in packages with packagebuilder by drag'n drop DSMs in it. Then the only part really needed to upgrade XIP is the MSXIPKernel folder, since OEMXIPKernel is device specific.

Yes I will be transforming the "Ported XIP & SYS for Cookers" thread over to a kitchen.
DT
I've managed to cook and flash successfully my first rom with ervius visual kitchen. Nothing special, just update of official wwe rom with 21054 XIP & SYS.
I get always an error with latest version of visual kitchen, no matter if I changed something or not, and finally I succeed with a previous version from Sous-Chef's Guide.
I tried to cook a wm6.5 with latest 23403 XIP & SYS, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
but now the device stucks in htc mobility screen.
I ported xip.bin with these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4401715&postcount=2
and I created the rom with and without "real wm6.5 aku" checked, but after flash both, the device stucks in htc mobility screen.
I suppose that the problem is with XIP, so needed some editing to make it work?
I found the solution!
Because lolite haven't a native wm6.5 kernel it's needed to convert some modules to files.
After I convert Browsing, Browsingcore and Browsingie folder modules the rom boots normally(needed to wait too long to access align screen though).

Yes, I found it already, but when building rom kitchen anyway change it to 6Mb
In the Build_log.txt I found: "XIP PagePool from: 6 Mb, to: 6 Mb"
Where I can change it in the kitchen?
You can change it if you "press Other" and change the number on -PP box.
But as I read, Pagepool is better to be smaller cause you will have more memory. The larger size is for stability when you run a lot of apps the same time, but I think this is not usual to run a lot apps the same time for ppc users.
Anyway, a size of 6-8 MB it's good. Search in forum to find more info about it.

O, thanks, i missed this button
I know about dependency Pagepool vs RAM, but Iolite has too much RAM, so as for me, it's better to set default value and forget about it
After Ervius kitchen I have header of *.nbh file like in attachment. Is it correct header or smth missing?
I have no device yet, so i can't check if it is right or wrong header
wont it be great if some of the great cookers such as dancer_69 can come up with a tutorial on how to cook a rom.. it would definitely benefit the whole iolite community..
I'm not so good in writing and my english also, and I'm definitely not a great cooker. I just search in the forum to find some tutorials, and also ask if I had some problems and sometimes I get some usefull awnsers from the great cookers.
Thanks to ervius and his visual kitchen, cooking became easier and there are a lot of infos and great tutorials here, in the forum:

And stuf:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445

To be honest, it is far so better to find how to cook by yourself. You will get more knowledge and experience, which help you when solving problems. For example: I also have Vox smartphone and I am learning on it. I got stuck on some stuff, but I solved it by myself and now I know where I made mistakes.
Great tools like Ervius visual kitchen makes all this stuff really easy (sort of click, cook and eat ), but you still need to know, how it works. And don't forget that you still can brick your device.

Here iam referring to ervius visual kitchen for gene or opal.
Before making a rom we have a ext, oem, rom, sys folders in which all basic material contains after building a rom with the above folders we get a .nbh file.
Now i want to know whether it is possible to covert a cooked .nbh rom into its initiall stage that is .nbh to its respective folders?

no my friend..if the rom is protected one and that is in 99% of case u cant get anything....only rom for that is sumit pro 21046 nothing else...even if u r building your rom with vk rhen u will get it as protected
Then is it possible to make a unprotected rom?
Yes, if you use the old way to cooking. Using Ervius VK, all roms are protected.
Ok thanks but may i know any old style kitchen?
Almost all chefs are using VK so an old way kitchen is not easy to find. btw see here for a tutorial (This will work well with wm6.1, with wm6.5 maybe you have some problems)
Help
That tutorial is useful but again as u said that in wm 6.5 u may have some problems and iam mainly want to cook with the latest builds 28002.
I tried one awesome way i extracted a protected rom with nbh extract and got one file 00_OS.nb Then using ervius deprotector i tried to deprotect this .nb file and i was successful in that also but after deprotecting i tried to dump that .nb file using evk, nbhdump but they either stopped working or gave error. Any help would be appreciable.
Ervius deprotector doesn't work with all kind of protections. I've tested it and don't work in any rom that I have. Ask for a kitchen for that rom you want. Is better.

Post you SDCONFIG.txt file here, also let us know if you are using any other 1st boot user customizations and chef customizations techniques like ( XDAUC, RUNCC... etc ). It is most likely that your UC costumizations are getting overriden by some things.
