Hi guys,
have any one come across any real carbon fiber casing for blackstone? I am looking for the real carbon fiber and not the carbon fiber look type.
There are quite plenty for iphones but i cant find any for blackstone.
it will be nice if there is something for blackstone like the one in the pic.
i thought that was a leather case with a 3d pattern on it, not a carbon fiber casing.

it is a real carbon fiber
Real carbon fiber ???
Are you sure ?
I's very expensive and very difficul to meke, with all those curved parts, and the hole.....
For produce it, you need a mandrel (very expensive if you do not produce thousand of pieces, and a tecnology (poltrusion) where you use 4/5 times the carbon you need for the piece, and the cost goes up and up, and up.
Probably it is made in glass fiber. it looks quite the same, but has not the same quality, quality that you do not need for a cover.
the 90 % of carbon accessories you find (for car - moto - ecceccecc) are in glass.
I'd like a real cover in carbon fiber, my company make cargbon fibers products. It should be part of my "entry card"
I know its difficult and very expensive. But then its is real.
I am carbon fiber freak. lol.
I have tons of carbon fiber products....

I've sen a few people with this setup, and love the look of it, but how well does the decal hold onto the carbon fiber viny back (I have one on order, but would love to get a vinyl sticker too!)
Scott
i would be interested in knowing as well. Although the carbon fiber look of the skin is nice enough for me. but it would be cool if i could add a decal or something else on it.
The carbon fiber on the back is just a giant carbon fiber sticker so to speak. You peel it off the paper it comes on and stick it on the back. I like mine.
I belive the guy who makes the carbon fiber wraps makse some with cutouts and other stuff on them. Have a look at his site.
I don't know how well the carbon fiber is stuck on mine, I have not tried to peel it off, but if I remember correctly it came on 3M paper so its probably a good sticker.
Sorry, what I mean is, some people put a decal (like Andy the Android) on top of their carbon fiber vinyl 'sticker' and I wonder how well the decal holds onto that.
Scott
I have the carbon fiber sticker on the back of my g-tab. I have an android andy decal sticking to that (andy pissing on an apple). They both are rock solid. No peeling issues at all.
It depends on the quality of the adhesive of the decal thats going over the carbon fiber. A couple of tips, make sure the surface is clean (wipe it with alcohol) and press the sticker in good with a credit card covered in a paper towel. Hit the decal with a blow drier and press the decal down again. That should stop most of them from coming off.
I picked up the carbon fiber skin (via eBay) and find it quite nice! Good quality very easy install. Add just enough "tacky" feel to add condifence when holding it as to not slip out of fingers. Looks pretty cool too of course!

Indeed, mine arrived yesterday and I am quite pleased with it!
I have the Skinomi carbon on my G... put a few stickers on the back a week or two ago and they are holding up perfectly fine. No seperation at all. Looks real cool too
Just ordered mine!! Can't wait!

Just purchased a carbon fibre sheet from ebay based on the cool pics from this thread. Thanks for the inspiration.
I received my carbon fiber skin last week (back only) from icarbons.com and this thing is so great I needed to share with everyone...
The skin covers the entire back, it was very simple to install, the fit is perfect (used a hair dryer to make sure corner edges were down) and there is no "bubbling" effect. The best part IMO is the feel of this skin. It's not like your typical glossy sticker feeling cheap-o skin, it has a nice grip feeling if that makes any sense and the quality is top notch.
Here’s a link directly to the skin.

Looks good!
Amazing this skin! When I will have my Evo 3D (in few months snif...), I will buy it!
Thanks to share that with us!
that looks clean!!

Only thing I can think of to compare it to is it almost feels like the ridges on the oem battery door.
It's pretty nice feeling, as it doesnt feel like just a sticker is on the phone - more like its natural and a part of the phone.
I bought one!
Finally broke down and bought this skin for my MacBook Air... I love it, not as hard to install as I thought it would be.
With a little time, an exacto knife and some extreme patients and a steady hand you could make a carbon fiber skin just like the OP's yourself. Here is a link to an Ebay search for Carbon Fiber samples. You could also search Google. Most of these are 4" by 8" samples for $1.99. There are some larger samples for $5. I think there may even be a tut on how to do it in the OG Evo forums. Of course the holes cut would be different, but the concept is the same.

Correct! I did this to my white Evo 4G. I bought a black battery door and wrapped it in the carbon fiber. It turned out awesome an no one believed that I made it because it looked sooooo good. The feel of the material is very nice. I used it for a few months and it looked like it did the day I put it on the entire time. I just received my stock 3D battery door that I bought on eBay. I considered doing the carbon fiber to it, but I'm afraid that the texture on the stock door may cause issues. I may just paint a red stripe on my extra door, haven't decided yet. Also, i plan on buying a big sheet of the carbon fiber anyway to wrap the top of my new 17" HP Envy laptop. with the extra I'll probably try my 3D battery door. If it doesn't turn out good then I can just peel it off.... we'll see

Went on eBay ab ordered 2 "sample" sheets. They are each 4" x 8" each. Got one in red carbon fiber and one in white carbon fiber. In about an hour I'm going to get a 24" x 48" black carbon fiber sheet. Going to wrap the top of my 17" HP laptop and will have enough extra to do my battery door in black also. I'm thinking I may wrap the smooth part of my Commuter case in the red.

Damn... the price is what killed it for me. That looks sooooo good though... if only someone was up to making legitimate carbon fiber battery doors. I don't care about the price, I'd buy one in seconds.

I agree about the price. That's why i bought the material to make my own. .99 cents to1.99, and free shipping, for a sheet of carbon fiber big enough to cover the battery door and camera area

Hello everyone this is my first post in xda. I'm very happy to join the G3 family and want to share my self made carbon fiber case, although there're many defections
This actually a carbon fiber-wrapped tpu case that I was attempting to increase the overall protection. I used 3k carbon fiber cloth and clear epoxy to wrap the Distronic Ultra TPU Case.
Was going to put on 2 or 3 layers of carbon fiber clothe, however the extra corner padding of the case is a huge problem to the application. As I'm not using a professional(of course, I'm not pro as well...) vacuum bag, it's hard to have the layer completely contact the case, which causes bubbles and irregular dents...terrible.
In order to put more epoxy to layer the edge, I gave up the second and third layer of carbon fiber...that's another mistake. After sanding and polishing, the case now has a decent look in it's back, yet the super thick epoxy layer makes it hard to cure, also the only one layer of carbon fiber does not produce much toughness, and the case is literally still "soft" but thicker...there is a comparison image with 4d carbon fiber vinyl on my Ballistic Urbanite case
By the way, the Ballistic Urbanite case feels great, super firm fit with the G3. The rubber is soft while strong. The button cover is easy to press, you don't have to explore your finger into the "crater" anymore. However the rubber corner doesn't expand to the back of the case, and the button cover is like 1mm-protruded out of the back, so when you put the phone faced up, you are scratching the glossy(a finger print magnet) hard plastic area and the rubber button cover. Other than that, it is strong, light weight and pretty simple case to me.
I really want to drop test my custom case with my G3 and see how it performs...but it would be a huge lost for me ether break the phone or the case itself...we will see
Thanks for watching.
Nice work!
Awesome.
Looks awesome.

OMFG! Looks great! Amazing work!
dbrand was kind enough to ship me some skins for review for both the LG G4 and LG G3.
I figured I would post the reviews here on XDA to help the most people I could, here goes.
For the LG G4 I have the Black Carbon Fiber skin with accents and the White Carbon Fiber skin with accents.
For the LG G3 I have the Mahogany Skin with accents, and the Zebra Wood Skin with accents.
The skins arrived in simple plastic sleeves with a dbrand insert and the skin itself.
Once you open these the first thing you will notice is the skins have a texture.
The carbon fiber really looks and feels like carbon fiber.
You can actually feel the wood grain in both the wood skins.
The printing on these skins is second to none, they all look realistic.
The cutouts on the speaker grill, camera, and sensors are perfect.
The application of this skin is the easiest yet.
All you have to do is place the button and camera covers (accents) on.
Then just use the 3M paper to keep the entire skin from sticking as you align the camera cutouts.
Realign the paper sideways and align the speaker cutout.
Remove the paper completely.
Finally use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the edges and press them into place.
I used a heat gun on the lowest setting, a hair dryer may take slightly longer.
Just in case you do not believe how easy the install is, I have made a video of me installing one.
Remember I have no extra experience doing this, it is this easy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQFYXfo47Z4&feature=youtu.be
Once installed you will really see how perfect dbrand made these skins.
Every cutout and edge will be exactly where it should be.
There are no overlapped places or short edges.
I have used both Skickwraps and dbrand and in my opinion dbrand has done a much better job with their skins.
If anyone is considering skins, dbrand is the way to go.
At $9.95 for just the back and accents and $17.95 for the back, accents, and front, these are a great price.

I hope this review will help someone.
Please ask any questions you want, I will try and answer if I can.
P.S. my favorite is the White Carbon Fiber back with the Black Carbon Fiber accents.
I have the black carbon fiber skin. It's GREAT!

I just bought the Matte Black skin and I'm really satisfied with the skin. Shipping to germany was done in under 2 weeks.
Installation was easy.
Now the G3 is not so slippery as without the skin. The grip is better than before.
Is it still compatible with other cases such as the Spigen Slim Armor? I'd love to have dbrand skins but with the option to be still protected with a case if ever I go outdoors
Hi Everyone, I recently received some products that are all amazing. I decided to make a post about them instead of posting in the accessories post about them because they might be lost and I will make it easier to get lost if someone was looking for the ultimate (Slim without scratches protection).
First, I started with a case called Anccer. They have gravel material which feels very close to the Oneplus 5T Sandstone texture. It is sold via Amazon. It is a very nice slim case that is SCREEN PROTECTOR COMPATIBLE. This case does not push the screen protector anywhere like most other great brand cases I have tried. If you are looking for a case, I highly recommend one of those. I paired this case with a pet screen protector Sold by LK on Amazon. I found a slickdeals discount code and decided to give it a try. I am impressed. It is PET and not liquid based. will post pictures below.
Now the skin talk. I have always been a D-brand fan buying skins. I found out phantomskinz and I tried their skin. I am very impressed by this brand that I haven't heard of before. Here are my thoughts as a long-time dbrand user.
The packaging is great. These guys really have an amazing packaging for their skin. You get a skin, the solution, two liquid based screen protectors, cloth, and a squeegee card. Even, they have a small texture sample on the outside of the box so you can feel it before you open the package. I am posting some photos below.
I went ahead and applied the black carbon skin since I have owned previous dbrand skins, but I can say, the phantomskinz black carbon feels better in the hand. It is a little thicker than the dbrand one and it actually have a good texture for the extra grip, which is helpful with the super slippery Galaxy S9
The application process is not hard and it is actually all in one piece so you have to align everything properly before finishing the installation. I personally like the all-in-one cut VS the separate parts on the 3m paper that dbrand provides. The only separate parts are a small piece for the sim-card and the camera, which I have installed. Overall, the skin feels like a very slim case and not just a skin. Of course, cases won't work after that because that skin is a little thick.
The screen protector is a wet application screen protector just like the IQ shield. It was straight forward, easy to align and squeeze the solution out, then let it dry. (I'd recommend watching a couple of tutorials about that if it is your first time installing a wet screen protector). The protector is edge to edge, so it is meant to be used without most cases, and it is meant to be used by their skins or other skins. The protector feels like the IQ shield where it sports the self-healing for minor scratches. The one thing I would change about the screen protector is the outer layer when pulled after the setup, pulls the screen protector, so I had to remove the protector after removing the outer screen protection plastic, applied more solution then put it back again. So far no edge lift. From the packaging, skin, screen protector, it is a really nice premium feeling product that is bundled nicely. I would give my thumbs up if someone is looking for that smooth all-in-one experience with phantomskinz.
Overall, that is the setup and these are my thoughts. Ask me anything in and I will do my best to answer you if you are thinking about buying the products that I had mentioned. phantomskinz has their own website and the other products are up on amazon.

Great choice. It also has a great texture for an extra grip.
