what is the difference between portet and translated?
in the settings "Stromversorgung", there are no text.

thanks mate, there are some things in programs and settings folders i could not fine german words for!, could you suggest! and list them together, IE WWE = GER Also did I spell things right??

A translated rom has All the *.mui files renamed to 0409 and many other things in the regestry are 0409=WWE "A sort of patch"
A ported rom has all the *.mui files with there proper name ie, german is 0407
and all the regestry enrties are 0407 just like a MS shipped rom would Be,
also extra german software you install will be suported better

Hi mate thanks for the feedback, I have fixed your finds and some more small tweeks here and there, I'v updated the link in post 1
hope it's all good now the folders are also called the same in the MS Emulator so i think thats right? the storage card may be changed but to what?

Thanks guys I will Change them in a couple of days just gona give you some time to check over this build to see if theres anything else that needs tweeking

I used the emulator as a referance and in that it's "My Documents" "Documents and Settings" in all languages So more crap from "MS" theres not storage card in emulator,
P.S. I dont speak or read german, But I do know ROM structure

Hi mate
can you give me a link to that ROM please and was it 6.1? i'd like to check the regestry/xip I'v checked 4 other ger rom's and all have Documents and Settings etc,
I can change the folders, But Documents and Settings is genarated by the OS, I can change it in XIP easy
WM5 AKU_3.3 t-mobile ger ship rom, also has Documents and Settings etc.
Changing this could limit software installation's to german only

I have finnished the kitchen I think!! just tweeking a new theme I will upload a new rom tomoro There will be some eng progs but I can't find ger versions

One info to the thing with the My documents and so on and why they aren't German:
I was wondering why some names in German ROMs stay English. So I asked somebody from T-Mobile my grandfather knows very well. He showed me a Charmer. The ROM on it was version 1.0 and everything was German. Including Program files, My Documents and so on. And then he flashed a aku 3 ROM to the phone. Everything was still German. Then he flashed a English aku 3 and back to the German again. Then some folders were English. They don't know why but they know the problem exists. And they can't fix it.
I write that here to tell you that there may is no fix. But maybe you'll find one.

The folders can be renamed in the boot.rgu that's easy. BUT if you do so then only 100% german software will run on your device
people that build software test it with emulator and that has the english named folders, So there software would look for "say my documents" not the german name.
So i'm gona leave it like emulator then people can use all software's
I think the multi lang kitchen is finnished now it's about 98% german just some extras like net config and ietools that there's no german versions of

I did & tested , when I enable bluetooth (not the headset profile)
the headset profile in Today Screen gone, must turn on & off again to make it turn back out

According to the threads here regarding the beta versions of this ROM, ppl were able to app unlock those ROMs using this procedure. I'm assuming/hoping that procedure still works on this official released ROM version. Planning to flash and use the above app unlock this weekend...

Well, I wasn't able to get it to work with what is out there on the wiki. To change the reg keys I had to use BreakSoft's reg editor that runs on the pc. For some reason, that works. Now I'm unlocked. Also, to build applications in Visual Studio and get them to run I had to use the WM SDK secutiryoff config file AND manually install the latest .Net Compact Framework.

Flashed this new ROM, very good but customised for XCingular USA.
It has got Internet Sharing instead of USB Modem options.
It also has ClearVue Suite for PDF, Presentation, WorkSheet and Document.
A2DP works fine.

I have flashed it already. There is no Czech as main language but of course you can set Czech as Regional setting so you can have names of days of the week in Czech etc.
I can see no changes from the previous Cingular ROM. I really like this Cingular ROM more than from HTC (EUR). This one has the latest AKU (but no .NET CF 2 - weird ??), Internet Explorer now has Home Page, better support of IFRAME, lots of small enhancements in Messaging application (you can save the attachement and choose storage or storage card, better account wizard)... But mainly - everything works perfectly.

Thanks for the info. And how about the free space thingy? After flashing this ROM, how much free space will be available? With my Qtek ROM I have around 12-14MB free after flashing/hard reset..

You are right, there is about 8 MB free memory after flashing. But as I have mentioned in other thread (Customizing Cingular ROM), you can delete the Cingular stuff and you get about 4 MB extra free.
The only thing I dont like on this ROM is that the ringer isnt so loud as on the EUR ROM. Fortunately the alarm sound (I use Gentimer) is loud enough to wake me up.
Can you check and see if that new Cingular ROM still misses the 'delivery verification' option for text messages?

Is there any way to backup my old ROM and to reinstall it?

You need to mod the update program to get rid of the language limitation. AKU - Adaptation Kit Upgrade, just like Service Packs on desktop Windows. You can search detailed info on Google. You will find your AKU info on Settings - System - About, in line 2 you will see something like "OS 5.1.478 (build 15698.3.5.2)", that means this device runs AKU 3.5.2.
You can always download ROMs from official site.

build 15698 is only AKU 3.5.0 / build 15706 is AKU 3.5.2

there is a way to backup the ROM. to dump it on an SD card, but getting it back would entail a lot of work. However, if you would be kind enough to share the ROM dump of the new upgrade. The ATOM community would be grateful to you.

I just hacked into this ROM. Sadly, this is still an old ROM, though, it is released just recently.

This means it is an AKU 2.6; so, no need to dump this ROM.
My hp rw6815 already comes with the same OS build (5.1.14989.2600) of the ROM upgrade... So this is only an update that fixes some bugs.. But because of the many bugs it has, I need to install it.
How can I mod the installation program to get rid of the language limitation? Is there someone who has already done it and tryed on their rw6815?

I'm not sure if this will work, but in our Atom, we just enter into bootloader mode before upgrading.

Where I can find detailed information how to do it (I need to change polish ROM into english one)?
Thank to Russian guys from 4pda.ru I found how to update my ROM to 1.12.00 WWE (from polish ROM).
The answer how to do it has been published by ArHon and I hope he don't mind if I present his solution here

Damn!!! Why can't I speak Russian!!!
But please bigu1975, tell us what have you done on your rw6815.
Is it now in English?
Is it now a rw6818? (but, what for? I know that 6818 model has radio FM, but hasn't got WiFi!!!)
So, tell us more!!!
The problem is that my russian is also very poor. I just used first file (language patched only) and I upgraded my polish ROM from 1.10.05 to english ROM 1.12.00. I have rw6815 and I used the orginal english ROM for my device.
I used the following procedure:
1. I downloaded from HP web the ROM update for rw6815 - sp35815.exe file.
2. I duble clicked on them and extracted all files. When the update application run I clicked on cancel.
3. I deleted orginal hpRUU.exe file from created by sp35815.exe IPAQ directory.
4. I copied then new patched file from provided link.
5. I run upgrade proccess as it is described by HP. This time the hpRUU.exe program didn't check my language, so after 15minutes I have new ROM
I believe that using second patched hpRUU.exe you can load the rw6818 ROM into rw6815 (and vice versa) but I didn't check this.

And maybe, can you ask them if there is a way to backup old rom before update? I'm not sure that my warrenty could remain valid after update...

If I correctly understood the russian posts there is a way to backup the ROM on SD card but it is rather hard to brink it back
In the link to forum there is a link to file which makes the ROM backup on SD card.

I had the same problem with a turkish hw6815. I used it and it worked with no problem. I would like to thank you you for the help.

I remove the constraint that the application will only run on selected O2 devices
Devices tested:

Tested to work on Tobias RealVGA in any DPIs. Application is VGA aware.
What's not supported?
Will run on WM6 devices only
Hidden Menu:
Once installed, if you press the Action Button, a Nokia like O2 Navigation Menu will appear.

If you have WM5 then it won't install. Only works for WM6.

It's been tested on two Athenas (with Dopod & HTC ROMs) & one Hermes (with Schaps' ROM) and works flawlessly.
When installed on Treo750 with WM5, it won't install and asked for O2 Connect.

Installed ok on My Ameo. Not bad to be honest however how do you change the applications on the 'O2 MRU' bar? I dont want calc, notes and explorer!!

When I initially installed this,it had a 24 hour digital clock showing. How can I change it to a 12 hour am/pm clock?

Unable to use SMS plus
Hi, as i am not a rom cooker i used the o2smsplus - oem files and copied it to my kaiser as instructed in txt file. it doesnt recieve the vcard, though it can send one. i have had this problem with previouse versions too. is there any solution for this, i really love o2sms plus. and want it atleast read incoming vcards.

Try Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items -> O2 Wireless -> Options -> "12 Hours Format"
I just tried to install early, and it asked for the O2 Connect.

Hi, we mailed yesterday about your special clean rom. I installed it on my german xda star and i have to say, its great. You made a good job. It works smooth and fast and stable.

It's ready for sharing now and I'm working on 20755 SYS but this needs some more time! I had the flu the last two days!

No data connection after flashing
Hi!
I flashed a T-Mobile MDA Touch plus with your Clean Black v2.0b yesterday. Everything seems to work exept the Data Connection, i can´t get internet access. I know from my diamond, that i get a automatted setup from t-mobile with all the connection setting. This isn´t comming on that nike. I found on the t-mobile homepage, that i can get an SMS with internet setting, this isn´t working too. i get an SMS with a code and with a hint, that a second sms will come with the settings, but this sms isn´t coming.
Do you have a hint for me how to get a data connection again?

I haven't included the Network Wizard/Setup in that ROM because this ROM is called "Clean"!
(Ignore WkTask for that reason )
You can add these settings manually in the connections tab in the device settings (Start - Einstellungen - Verbindungen - Verbindungen)!
I think the reason that you can't receive the second message from T-Mobile with the correct settings for your device is that WAP Push maybe isn't activated by default! Search through XDA Dev#s to find that reg key to enable it, if it isn't enabled!
P.S.:
Link for Core Kitchen is fixed!
