Yep, ring them up and ask them for the code, and when they give you a price if applicable, search the net for something cheaper. There is no free unlock for the X10.
unlockitnow.com
Hi,
I don't think I should contact at&t for unlock code as I bought this used phone off craigslist.
I just made $15 paypal payment to unlockitnow.com to get an unlock code.
Hopefully I'll get the unlock code in a day or two; fingers crossed.
Thanks,
San
cellunlocker.net
Hi,
unlockitnow.com could not find the unlock code in normal way; it asked me to go for another way costing $70. It is too costly.
Instead, I paid $40 to cellunlocker.net, it sent me a software to unlock the phone, but software is not working. I sent emails asking for refund or send me a correct software; 4 days gone, nothing heard from them yet; calls to toll free support no always says representative is busy... :-(
Thanks,
San

think HTCCODE is fine but depends on what lock is on your phone
not sure if davinci lets you unlock it having used all the attempts

After 3 days of continuous dialing 1-800-507-9077; I managed to speak with cellunlocker.net, the representative told me that the software unlock is not working because the unlock servers are down for more than a week. He promised me to send the unlock code in 3 business days.
I'll post again after 3 days.
Thanks,
San

Good luck. Let me know if it works out for you. I am also looking to unlock my AT&T X10a. Thanks.
I am also in the same boat.
My AT&T branded one arrives tomorrow and I need a way to unlock it. I see some methods on Youtube, may need to revisit those but if anyone has a sure way of doing it, I'd be grateful.
XPERIA x10a white
Hi there.
I am in the same boat. Just waiting for server comes up...
Anyone had success in unlocking XPERIA X10a phones?

cellunlocker.net
Folks,
Just want to let you know that cellunlocker.net did not provide me any unlock code yet... I'm tired of waiting.. 2 weeks gone after I paid $40 to it... I have opened a PayPal dispute case.. hoping that paypal will manage to get my money back...
Thanks.
Got refund cellunlocker.net
Folks,
I want to inform you that I got the refund within minutes after I opened dispute case in paypal.
Overall, I can say that cellunlocker.net is not the bad company who will steal your money... but it definitely don't hesitate to waste customer's time.
I also want to inform you that, I bought unlock codes from cellunlocker.net at least 3 times in the past with super fast delivery. This is the first time it kept me hanging for 2 weeks.
Thanks,
San

No code found: thephoneunlockers.com
Hi,
Just want to let you know that "thephoneunlockers.com" could find the unlock code. It promised me to refund in 24 hours.
Thanks,

hi wout123: Did you use paypal? if you have been waiting for more than a week I would suggest you to open a paypal case for refund.
Case should be opend as "no item received".
If you open case as "wrong item received", there is fair chance you won't get refund.
Thanks,
San
refund = no unlock code !! I need this unlock code !!
The main server with the unlock code is already down from October untill now !
They promised the "Believers" that after few days the server will come up again online....
They promised you everything execept the unlock code
Here I have a example:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry the software will be down until tomorrow as the program has gone offline again. We are sincerely sorry, however this is the fastest way to unlock your phone, we are working to resolve this situation for you asap
If you cannot wait, please let us know and we will cancel the order for you

Yes, that is correct. We did receive a notification today that the update should be complete tomorrow.
Thanks.

I hate that people actually pay money for unlock codes. AT&T will give you an unlock code depending on certain conditions. There was a lawsuit against them a while back which resulted in them stating they will give out unlock codes upon request (unless it's an iPhone) given certain conditions are in place.
AT&T Settles Lawsuits Over Software Locks on Mobile Devices
If you owned an AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless or AT&T Mobility account between March 12, 1999 and April 2, 2010 and purchased a wireless handset other than Apple iPhone for use with these services, you may be entitled to benefits from this settlement.
The proposed class action settlement doesn’t provide money (except to the lawyers, of course), but you can receive a code that unlocks your handset. According to the settlement notice, these codes will be provided to AT&T customers based on three eligibility requirements:
(1) Customers with postpaid accounts who have completed a minimum of 90 days of active service and are in good standing and current in their payments.
(2) Customers with prepaid accounts who have provided a detailed receipt or other proof of purchase of the handset.
(3) Customers who own handsets for which AT&T has an exclusive sales arrangement with a manufacturer of less than 10 months will have to wait until the 10-month period expires before they can receive an unlocking code.

You can also read this forum post here for what you can try if you ARE NOT an AT&T customer.
You could also just tell them (like I did back in 2005) that you are going out of the country and will be out for a while and need to use the phone there with a local sim card. I was going to Iraq (army deployment) and got an unlock code to use with a local pre-paid phone service there.
I have just got myself a new HTC 7 Mozart and it is locked to O2 UK
I tried various locations including eBay to get an unlock code for it and none seem to be able to get a code for my IMEI.
I got myself a Rebel Sim II with the programmer and programmed the sim to the 1.3 beta and still no joy, just won't come up with service, just has the circle with the line through it in top left.
Any ideas how I can get this phone unlocked as I want to use it with my Virgin mobile sim.
where did you purchase the handset from? contract..
https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset Unlocking Form
It is brand new on a contract with O2.
Ill try that link and see what they say.
Thanks
I recently purchase HTC Mozart on Pay n Go and filled the form for unlocking. when did you hear about unlocking after sumbitting that form?
I got my reply from O2 and they unlocked it without any problems.
Got my code after 5 days of submitting the form.
Thanks chetzy
Apparently for people with a contract on O2 they will do it for free, just as long as you honour your contract term.
Pay and go customers they may only do it after 1 year after you have registered the phone or it may possibly cost £15 which they will take from your credit which you will need to have available on your sim. If you didn't buy the phone direct from O2 they may not do it.
Thanks for the update. I bought it from O2 store and the store people assured me that it will be unlocked within 28 days and £15 will be deducted from your pay go balance. so let's see. thanks again.
Hi, I've had a look around a few forums and online services but I can't seem to find a way to network unlock my HTC 7 Mozart thats on Orange.
I am an OUK customer, but I'm leaving the UK in 6 weeks so I'd like to keep my handset. My problem with calling Orange is that I didn't get my handset from them but off ebay. I emailed the seller asking if he could ask Orange for the code but he didn't reply. Orange keep telling me no when I call them or go instore - pretty poor service considering I've been with them for 11 years and I'm band 5.
Is there a ROM, update or code that I can use to unlock this and use it for any network?
There are loads of options on the web. Try this one:
http://rebel-xtc-clip.com/htc-imei-unlock-codes.html
Its cheaper not to use Orange anyway to get the phone unlocked as they will charge £20, you can get it cheaper and quicker elsewhere.
I used a service which sent me a code in under 5 mins and cost about £15.00 via Paypal.
http://www.htcimeiunlock.com/
Orange are not as helpful as they use to be since teaming up with t-Mobile, I recently gave up a 17 year account with them worth £300 per month and ill take my others with them when they expire too.
hi guys, does anybody knows how to unlock nokia lumia 800 (uk) to all networks??my is on orange uk and i want to use o2 on it but i have no idea how to do it!thanks
If you have the Qualcomm bootloader you can use NSS 0.50 to unlock it (the post in a few posts down in this forum). If you don't have the Qualcomm then currently the only way to unlock it is to get Orange to do it but you need to have had the phone registered to them for at least 3 months before they will do it (costs £20 or so)

Was the phone you bought new or used? If it was used, how long had it been active on the network? I also bought an 800 off ebay and Orange refuse to unlock it until it's been on the network for 3 months. Yes, I have an Orange PAYG sim, I also got my dad to send me his PAYG sim (which is old) and as long as their computer shows the phone has been registered on the network less than 3 months they will not unlock it.
lumia unlock
the orange lumia was less then a month old, all i done was got a pay and go sim wacked £25 on it then phoned their customer services, told them i wanted a unlock code, they took my imei number and i waited 2 weeks, at no point was i asked about 3 months or anything they did what i requested with no issues at all.
i would recommend giving them another ring if they ask if the phone is use for 3 months say yeah it has been just say somthing like you been living over seas or somthin and if you dont get the result, phone again just tell them what they want to hear thats what i would do
rob
You must have got the lucky CS member that other people get. When you phone up they look on the computer and it tells them when the phone was first used on the network (when the IMEI number was first used on the network that is) so they know when the phone was first used. I've phoned several times and talked to several different people, always the same response "not for 3 months".
lumia unlock
you could try using a t-mobile sim and phone them for a unlock i have read on here that other users have had success with that

It is true that the new network (everything everywhere I believe it's called) is locked to both T-Mobile and Orange so either should be able to unlock it. I only have until the end of August before Orange will allow me the pleasure of using my phone on my chosen network though but I'm hopeful that the DLOAD gets cracked before that so I can unlock it for free.
Orange though recommend getting a 3rd party to unlock the phone when they won't! It's like "we won't unlock it for business purposes, but you can get someone else to unlock it and we'll not get the money for unlocking it, great business plan we have don't ya think?!"
I heard from several T-Mobile HTC owners that they tried to unlock it from some websites but after paying $25 they found out that those sites don't have the unlock code for the T-Mobile version of HTC.
I can't unlock it by calling T-Mobile as I'm on prepaid and I only use T-Mobile about 15 days a year when travelling through the states so I'm looking for a site that somebody has had success unlocking T-Mobile HTC One.
If you were able to get it sim unlocked, please, list the site and the cost.
I asked for the sim unlock yesterday at tmobile, they replied today.
HTC denied it because we have to wait 40 days of use first.. or pay your bill, I will call them back.
edit: its not HTC its Tmobile that denied it, they want users to use the phone for 40 days,
edit: im calling them back right now, cause I did pay it in full. they are going to put another request to HTC.
thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We have received your SIM Unlock Request. I've been T-Mobile's PrePaid customer since 2011. Bought HTC One on launch day, called them that first weekend, and my phone was unlocked within 24hrs, on a Weekend!!!
I did buy it at full price.
That said, my gf's iPhone 5 they won't unlock for 40days even though it's paid in full... weird.

I wouldn't know if the seller had it paid in full and even if I know I can't ask T-Mobile to unlock it as I don't have a receipt. I'm in Canada and the phones price from T-mobile in US on a plan is $579+tax but I'm not on a plan, I'm on pre-paid, if you are on pre-paid, you can't buy the phone online or by calling T-mobile, if you find a store that carries them then they will tell you the full price for pre-paid customers is $650+tax but some pre-paid customers said that when they run it through the price comes out at $610+tax for pre-paid plans. When I talked to a TMO store on a couple of occasions they all said both times that I would need to pay $650+tax, not $610. Either way it's quite more than $570 that I paid on craigslist for a new phone even if I have to pay $25 to get it unlocked online.
That's not my point where I bought it from. My question for this thread was: Has anyone been able to successfully sim unlock it from those online sites? If yes, what site was it and what was the price
okay peeps... check it out, I understand why some had there unlock codes given to them..
find someone that has a T-Mobile acct, prepaid or contract, it doesn't matter, I have received my unlock codes from T-Mobile with prepaid also..
I remembered they did that to me along time ago. the reason they said I can have it at the end of the month, it will be 40 days of service on May 28.
so if you have a friend that u know who has been with T-Mobile for over 40 or more days of service in good standing, and they also have to be using the phone for at least 5 days with there sim card on the phone, they will release the unlock code.
they can tell if they have been using the phone with the existing sim. u can unlock 1 phone every 90 days.

Hi there,
I tried unlocking my phone from htconlineunlock.com . It did generate a code for me. But when I put that into my phone it says incorrect pin.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Do not try to unlock using cellunlocker.net, at least until confirmed working. I checked my IMEI and chose US T-Mobile for my operator and they confirmed it as unlock code available. I paid $25 but didn't receive a code. 12 hours later I got a refund with a message that the phone is too new asking to check again in a couple of weeks once they update their database.

Try it several times, I heard that for some it may take as many as 6 attempts and then it finally takes the code. If not, ask them for refund. I didn't get a code from cellunlocker.net and even didn't have a chance to ask for refund, they just did it once they found out they couldn't get the code for me.

I guess then you can request a refund from them.
Hopefully we'll have someone successfully unlock it from one of those sites and will have a report here as to what site it was. I'm eagerly waiting to get it unlocked. I already cut my sim card to micro size and am currently using it in my old HTC Amaze with the leftover plastic that I use as an adapter for the smaller sim.

Im just doubtful about one thing. I bought the phone from the US. But im Home (india) for the summer and was trying to use the indian sim to unlock it. Can that be the problem? Like do I need an at&t or some other US carrier sim to unlock it?
I am in the same boat. Bought an HTC one from a US owner eyeing on the fact that it has 1700Mhz support so I can run it on my Wind Mobile network. I need a code now it's impossible for me to use the T-mobile service for 60 days when I'm physically not there.

That's exactly my story. I do have a prepaid account on T-Mobile (their $3/per day plan) but I only use it about ten days a year and I think they ask to use it actively like every day for 60 days for pre paid accounts in order to unlock, but even if I do, I still won't be able to do that as I don't have a receipt.
I guess we just have to be patient and wait till one of those unlocking sites gets T-Mobile codes on their database
Im in the same boat too.
Bought this phone in the US and was told by the rep that customer service would unlock it. Well ive tried 3 different times and they keep refusing. Also ive tried about 10 different online unlock services, all have failed. I really dont wanna have to sell this phone back into the US because it cost me over $800 after import duty and i'd get nowhere near that. And of all the friends that i have in the US, none of them have service with t-mo or know anyone who does. Is t-mo really that ****ty?
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, please share.
I tried www.myhtcunlock.com last night. Paid $35. In the morning I received a refund from them with a message that the phone is too new asking to try again in a couple of weeks.
If anyone is successful in unlocking it from a site, let us know what site it was.
I've used htcsimunlock.com a few times. It usually comes out to $15-20, but they have not disappointed me yet.
