latest album 3 - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

Not sure what the chef for the RRE series rom's has done, but the album v3 works just fine. No funky zoom. I tried using Da G's clean rom to play around with some things, but I cannot get album 3 to work right. Anyone have a guess on what the RRE series has, that other's don't? I appreciate the help. Thank you.

Seems like a question best asked in the RRE thread.

hmm...On aruppenthal's RRE page it shows Album 2.5 not Album 3.0 . Are you sure he has Album 3 in his RRE series?

Correct, he is using 2.5, but I install v3 because it seems to work better, and any other ROM I have used, the landscape zoom is always messed up. But for some reason, RRE's latest ROM that I'm using, album 3 works really good. No issues with the zoom in landscape, and everything just works.
Also, thought I would bring it up for others that like album 3 and would like it to work in landscape. If someone could figure out, why it works in RRE ROM's, then it could be used in other ROM's.

HTC VGA Apps?

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where I can find VGA versions of the 10 key CommManager, HTC Home and any other HTC Apps?
Been searching for hours but not finding sod all. The supposedly VGA HTC Home app I found looks tiny but I've seen another version (@192Dpi) on the Athena that looks normal but can't find it!
Also, does anyone have a VGA version of the new HTC Default tsk? The black one?
I'm only really after the three things mentioned above but if you know of any other cabbed up VGA HTC apps, please post them as it may be useful for others!
Thanks in advance.
As far as I know, the HTC home only displays properly on 96dpi in realvga mode. That's what I use and it looks proper (not tiny). I also believe that many have used the 10 key comm manager from the Kaiser forum. It isn't VGA but works well on our devices. You're also free to download PK's addon rar from the Dark Dual 3.0 ROM. It has a nice collection of apps there. This is easily overlooked while pouring through threads. Most of the apps will be within the first few posts of new ROM releases, if that helps any. Good luck
Have you looked over in the universal forums? Many HTC and other VGA Apps. The Htc Home vga cab has been posted in this forum and also the universal forums.
A quick search turns up the following for Htc Home VGa
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351553
Watch for the vga cab that really does not look too well. It cuts off the msg notification tabs and really looks crappy. but looks ok in 96 dpi, but not good in other dpi. Also, someone posted one that looks ok, but can not be customized with the HHC customizer. There are several that work well.
Thanks both
@eagle
Yeah that's the one I'm running on my P750 now but it's pretty small!
For anyone else looking, PK add-ons mentioned by raskell can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=346221
EDIT: Neither SnapVue nor HTC Home from the PK add-ons work on the P750

Noob questions.. help me pick a ROM.

I'm not new to custom ROMs in general, I've had them on my PPC6700 and Mogul previously, but the Touch Pro seems to have ALOT of them. I have specifics on what I'm looking for. I don't even know if half this stuff exists on the Raph800, so bare with me.
- WM 6.5, but only if it's pretty much entirely bug free.
- Landscape Cleartype. I've heard Da_G's ROM supports it, do any others?
- Topaz HTC Start Menu for TF3D, and HTC Menu Enhancement
- Rhodium TF3D (weather fix, again looking for bug free)
- NO built in Opera, or 9.7 Beta
- Touch HD S2A
- HTC app skins (Phone, Calc, etc)
- Non-ridiculous boot screens (which I'm flexible on lol)
Any thoughts?
IDK of any rom that is 100% bug free. but to get what you want you would need to use a kitchen. who is your cell provider?
I feel the same way have a ppc6700 and have used the kitchens on that one but my touch pro I am lost on what to install and what not to I just want to go to wm 6.5 for sprint just like stock nothing fancy but can add later when I know what they do
Thanks for your input guys, I wound up unlocking and giving NFS_Fan's 6.5 a try, so far I love it!

An Application like "Cookie Home Tab" for Sense 2.1!

It seems most of the professional developers have switched to WM6.5 + Sense 2.5 and fully abandoned W6.1 & Sense 2.1
Surely one of the very best applications for Sense 2.5 is “Cookie Home Tab” which let users to customise many items easily within Sense 2.5, while there isn’t any for Sense 2.1 users!
Wish some of these great developers reconsider Sense 2.1 and make a new application similar or equivalent to CHT for it to make the sense 2.1 users as happy as 2.5 users
maybe you could ask in the thread of the cookie home tab. Maybe your question is kinda interesting in terms of speedadvantages. But Im no specialist!
Thanks,
Future

Why not just upgrade to 2.5?

While I like 2.5, there are more things about it that I dislike.
I don't like the favorite contacts page at all.
I can't stand that there isn't a programs tab, and while there are several threads about adding one, I have not been able to get any of them to work.
So for now, I am happy with 2.1
The one thing I miss the most of 2.5 is the settings tab though.

in 2.5 you don't need a program tab, if you install CHT
and contacts can be added to the quicklinks, too.so why do you think that much users say, that Sense with CHT is how it should be? just give it a try it's free and you can flash back if you like 6.1 after some days still more.
and Sense 2.5 has a settings tab...

I have tried 2.5 with and without CHT.
I still like to have a programs tab, even with the home tab quick links, and I like the 2.1 favorite contacts page.
Personal preference.
that's really ok, mate

I fully agree with Brent372!
If there was a CHT version for sense 2.1, then you could customize many thing and combine advantages.

The DeepShining ROM from dotcomp has a Programm Tab, it is WM6.5 with Sense 2.5. Maybe you give it a shot.

Hi Michel!
We do all know that there is no technical advantage of Sense 2.1 over 2.5 but Im wondering if a Sense 2.1 can provide more speed than the newer versions. The most ROM Chefs discussed the 2.1 vs 2.5 in terms of speed (see the "Blackstonehenge HyPer" thread in the Blackstone ROM Development section for instance). From a users sight Sense 2.1 is only missing the quicklinks, right?
So *IF*
- Sense 2.1 DO have reasonable speed advantages compared to 2.5 and
- C00kie Home Tab for Sense 2.1 could bring quicklinks to life there and
- it's possible to port CHT over to Sense2.1 without much work and
- a Sense2.1 CHT would not slow the Sense 2.1 speed down to 2.5 level
I would appreciate such a version as it could be really interesting for all the devices with slower processors and chipsets (400-800MHz) and including my old blackstone (Touch HD). But only if all the IFs are positive of course...
Thanks for this discussion,
Cpt-Future
and again... it is matter of personal preference.
I am sure there are others like me that right now, prefer 2.1 over 2.5
it will be great if something like CHT be available for sence 2.1, i have Diamond and i tested both sense 2.5 and 2.1. sense 2.1 is faster on my device.

does anybody know how to replace people tab of sense 2.5 with the ones in sense 2.1?

[Q] Looking for a ROM that can do the following...is there such a thing?

Hi All
Been a regular reader but just joined now.
Anyway I've been trying a few custom ROMs out on my rooted HTC Hero (GSM)... many have some very good things, but many of the 2.2 ones don't have some of the features or apps I loved from 2.1, especially some of the HTC sense, or some of the apps.
So, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a custom ROM that can do/has the following:
- Based on Froyo 2.2 (want to try out the supposed performance improvements, new UI, later version of flash, etc)
- Needs the Apps2SD functionality (I believe all 2.2 based Roms have it)
- I really like the HTC flip clock/weather widget, with the animated weather as in 2.1..but haven't seen it in 2.2. Is it not available anymore? Anyway it could manually still be added?
- The 2.1 weather app.. where you can add multiple locations. 2.2 only seems to have weather/news which I dont like as much.... the option to see weather in different locations just by scrolling down was great. No other options in the market seem to do this as well, either
- In fact - most of the original HTC widgets available of on the Hero I would still like
- The 'Stocks' app found in earlier versions is missing in 2.2. I really like this app, as it's the only one I have ever found that you can add many quotes, and will work well with non-US countries (like Australia/NZ sharemarkets for example). But, it's not in found in the market and doesn't seem to be featured in 2.2?
- I also liked the way that when looking at 'people', it would summarise 'events' like birthdays and give me a taskbar notification. The 2.2 Roms I have tried so far, don't seem to have this same function anywhere..is it still available?
- I also liked the previous 'my contact card' where I could store my own details. I cant see this in 2.2 either is nit now gone? Would still love that.
Anyway, maybe I'm asking too much, but is there any custom ROM anyone can recommend, that is based on 2.2 but still has those 'good' bits from 2.1 or earlier?
Or, is there anyway I can add them myself??
I have checked out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889299
and others, but so far haven't found anything that quite has the above...
For the Flip Clock, you can search for Fancy Widget. In the current version, the autohor redesigned ist, but with you can find the older version here on the forum -and it looked exactly like the Sense flip clock! (what also explains, why that version was removed from the market by htc) As a bonus, I find it less laggy than the original one -therefore, it replaced HTC's flip clock on my homescreen
For the rest, I think, you need a ROM with Sense, as Sense Widget don't work on non-sense Roms...
I use fancy widget as well, glad I saved the .apk file
as for the sense like widgets you are better of doing a market search you might find some similiar to them.
or just go install the custom sense froyo roms although the camera or some hardware aint working on them
Thanks, I found the older fancy widget apk so I will give that a try.
I guess I'm asking too much for a custom ROM based on 2.2, with all the HTC Sense stuff still working... will have to comprise somewhere.
I really wanna give 2.2 a decent try but a lot of the stuff I liked from 2.1 isn't there anymore in the ROM's I've seen.
Anyway thanks for the replies!

the fact is mate you want HTC Sense on 2.2 (or sounds like that), which isn't a 100% stable port on the Hero (GSM) so you can have 2.2 working perfectly and use 3rd party apps like everyone else to get the same effect, or you can use a buggy 2.2 port of HTC sense, and live with it until someone makes a good port.
Yeah I wasn't too sure what ROM's were available and what they all could or could not do, hence asking for recommendations.
Anyway I'm trying out a number of differnet ones until I find the best one for me.
Think you're right though, 2.2 with Sense isn't really available/stable yet so I think a non-sense 2.2 with addons is the way to go at this stage.
Cheers
Hi,
I trye different ROM and i think a non-sense 2.2 whith an other launcher (like LauncherPro) is better than Sense...
The ROM TastyFroyo is the faster ROM but the screen resolution is not compatible with BeautifulWidget. (2.2 non-sense)
And the FroyedVillain is awesome too and full stable! (2.2 non-sense)
The ChocolateFroyo is a 2.2 with sense but i dut test it...
You have the rom in 2.3 too!!!
Elinux ROM and TastyGinger are great but still in beta...

[APP] Walkman

This is for ICS and JB roms only, and is taken from the xperia s ics app pack.
I've tested it so far, and it seems to work fine on the wildfire. Tested on an old build on CM9. But it should work on the latest version just fine.
I'll post screenshots later. File is attached. I havent included the APK for the visualizer, and the apk for the music widgets don't install.

Thx for sharing. Anyway, I believe I've already found my favorite music player. Has been a find by accident almost but I'm very happy with it as it has a totally different playlist approach (no more "open folder select title" hazzle) and a very nice headphone calibration. I'm not speaking for myself only (as I'm just using our tiny Willy and random headphones - nothing spectacular) but from what I read of all those power music users (owning SGSII/III, Nexus One etc. and using high end ear-/headphones) they like it much, too.
What I could say for sure is that I never experienced such a great sound on my earphones before
Give it a whirl if you like: [APP][2.2+] XenoAmp 0.41 (17092012) - A Slightly Different Audio Player (The app in the thread is the most recent version but it's also on the play store already).
Plus: amazing support, really responsive dev - and I like his attitude lol
