bluetooth headphones? - Touch HD Accessories

I know there are several threads on bluetooth headphones - I've read through these, but just want to check whats the latest recommendation people have?
Im looking for good quality headphones with remote facility for the Touch HD and decent battery life.
I need to replace my old model which i sat on!
Thanks

Just got the Plantronics stereo bluetooth headset...it is good.
Sound is very clear...but the bass is on lower side.
It looks very smart though...with its boom extended.
I have also tried Sony Ericsson (the ones with CLI) and its sound was very loud and bassy.

Need help deciding which bluetooth headphone to get

Hi everyone
I need help choosing between 2 bluetooth stereo headphones:
1) Sony Ericson HBH-DS970
-$60 CAD used from someone local (he claims it is not a fake)
2) Jabra BT8010
-about $110-140 CAD on eBay
I am having a hard time deciding between the two.
Are they both equally compatible with the Hermes? Which one has better sound quality when playing music?
Please help me decide or a different BT headphone that you think is better.
Thanks
I just tried out the SE DS970 and I was not impressed with the audio quality. there was no skipping because I used Sleuth's patch and I tried all the BT quality settings using the HTCtweak but the audio quality was poor compared to the OEM USB headphones. I am certain it was not a fake. Is that normal sound quality on the Hermes?
I hope someone can comment on this.
There are two threads with extensive discussion on the SE HBH-DS970 and also some on the Jabra 8010
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299082
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291926
Try these.
I personally use the SonyEricsson and am very happy with the quality. The bass is particularly good.
I have not tried the Sony, but looking at the comments and the ergonomy of the headphone, it may provide better bass than the BT8010.
The BT8010 sound is well balanced with good bass, but the reason I am using it is that it is flexible. it can convert from a headset to a headphone very easily.
When used as a headset, you can get A2DP sound in your ear including phone ring, Voice command and system sounds.
It has also a vibrate function so you can put it in your pocket and still get those phone calls.
No compatibility issue whatsoever with Hermes.
For best sound on the go I am using the superwifi5 with BT320s or simple cable adaptor cable as Sling Video has some trouble to keep up with WiFi and BT A2DP at the same time

The search for the perfect BT Headphones \ Handsfree

I bought the Logitech FreePulse BT headphones about a year ago and have been in love with them ever since. The fit and design aren't that great, and it doesn't have buttons for changing the songs. However, all of this is made up for by the amazing sound quality.
I have been using them religiously ever since...with my laptop, desktop (with the provided receiver) and Touch Cruise.
I decided it was time to upgrade, and get something that had what these dont; buttons for changing the songs, a mic, and the ability to switch between calls and music; all with good sound quality.
A friend recommended the Motorola s9's. I tried them, and absolutely hated them. I loved the features that they had, and I loved how lightweight they were...but the sound quality was so bad -- it was tinny, no bass at all, crackly, and hollow...like something I would expect from a pair of headphones that come free with another product.
I returned those, and then purchased the Motorola HT820's on ebay. These were a bit heavier, but I liked the fit better. These also had the buttons for switching between songs, and had a mic for calls too. However, they suffered from the same issue as the s9 - absolute crap sound quality.
I have been checking out alot of different reviews for other products, and am stuck. People never seem to agree about anything, and the reviews are always mixed.
So, I'll ask you guys here at XDA..
What do you think the best quality BT headphones are, that also have a mic, and remote control buttons?
Are there any studio quality monitors like ultimate ears that use bluetooth a2dp / handsfree?
Thanks in advance for your posts...I hope I can find something decent
Has anyone experience with the motorola s705 soundpilot in combination with the touch cruise?
Jabra bt320s: imho this is the best; buyed from ebay.co.uk 1 month ago and no problems at all:
http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Jabra/UK-UK/products/Pages/JabraBT320s.aspx
bye.
Plantronics
I have plantronics 665 & with BTArouter its great but no a2dp,
Check the plantronics 855 it should be the best BT headset exist.
i bought a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 and its just perfect,
Basses are deep, and sound quality is just like my PC Speakers(logitech 5500 digital...)
Really cool !

Ha, I thought I was the only one. The Logitech simply are amazing in terms of sound quality, bar none. I just wish they had the AVCRP and handsfree profiles and I could deal with the fit issues and the fact that its kinda bulky. Honestly, I can't say anything is better and I've tried many. Unless Sony has vamped up its game in the last 6 months, they don't compete at all...although maybe the SonyEriccson line is better (althought I got into A2DP to avoid tangled wires, so earbud form factors are not an option for me). I have high hopes for the Jabra BT8030 though and may pick them up one day as an addition to my current A2DP headphones. The BT8030 certainly looks like it has awesome sound.
I personally use Samsung SBH-170 mainly bc of their convenience and small size. The sound was better than everything else I had tried, but nowhere near the FreePulse. FYI the FreePulse is the only headset that you could turn the Bluetooth A2DP thoroughput/bandwith all the way up on the PC w/o any stuttering.
Thanks sonus, those samsungs look really nice
However, I have given up and am stuck with the freepulse for now..
All the ones i've tried from best buy \ circuit city suck compared to those, sound quality wise. I do agree that the fit is not the best, and others are way better, but since I'm a musician \ producer my main concern\priority in the end will always be sound quality.
I would try to order some online; but alot of places don't like people returning things and then they take a month to refund your card, etc. :-\
I saw some real good ones on ebay a couple weeks ago, but I forgot what they were called. They were labled as professional audio quality, so I'm gonna check into those for now I guess.
I still have a2dp issues with the freepulse + polaris tho..like lag, skips, weak signal, etc. Do you have the same problem sonus?
No, I don't have any serios A2DP problems, although maybe once every 15min I might get a skip. Have you tried editing the A2DP settings in the registry?
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool
Reduce this value to lower the standard bitpool that is used the majority of the time
30-40: Medium audio quality
48: High audio quality
58: Excellent audio quality
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/MaxSupportedBitPool (Default=64)
Reduce this value to lower the maximum bitpool that is used when your MP3 player encounters high bitrate songs. I'm guessing that since you are a musician and since you probably have high quality mp3s, this value might be your issue. Try lowering this before reducing the bitpool setting.
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/UseJointStereo
0=Real Stereo
1=Joint Stereo
Turn your bluetooth off then on to make the changes take effect. Lower values will also give you better battery life, and reduce processor usage while a2dp is being used.
Thanks very much for the info..i changed both values to 50 and turned on true stereo (I can't believe joint stereo was enabled by default -- YUCK!) It seems to have helped..
I just listened to four songs in a row using core player and I only got 3 skips..believe it or not that is a big improvement
But the problem when coreplayer is playing and i press the power button it still skips for 2-3 seconds every time.
It's better, but I still am kind of suspicious because my laptop and desktop have 0 skips at all, no problems whatsoever...but i guess mobile devices are different sooo..yuh..I'm somewhat content now at least =]

It might be that HTC underclocks our devices when the power button has been pushed. So try a lower bitrate, experiment with a value like 45 or even 40 to see if the music quality is audibly degraded, you should get no skipping at that point.
yeah, it definately has something to do with the bluetooth settings too because when i have the audio adapter connected (Wired) to my car's aux i can push the power button all day long and no skips, and really no skips when playing songs at all in core player...maybe when a notification comes up but thats to be expected i guess
I bought this BT headset, works perfect with the TC and not expensive:
http://cgi.ebay.nl/a15-3-5mm-Stereo...ryZ80085QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Now im using a motorola H3. It's really cool. Now i'm looking for a stereo one. Could you please tell me which type should i buy? BT 1.1,1.2,2.0?
V Three BTH-18
I bought the V Three BTH-18 Bluetooth Headset from expansys and I have to say that it's working very well. No problem pairing, answering or making calls with voice speed dial. Also it's very small!! (Mind you, I've not tested it with programs like coreplayer, etc, for music or movies...! I suppose I'm not interested in that feature)
And there's another one:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...10151&productId=8198552921665400453&langId=-1
I don't know if anybody tried it. I have a choice now of getting Sony Ericsson DS980 or this new Sony bluetooth. Looking for a feedback about this device, but can't find it. Maybe someone can share his experience with this toy? Thanks!
I think these are the best I've ever heard
the Sony DR-BT22 they fit perfect on the ears sound quality is awsome ....I know that I have a Kaiser but stereo headsets work with all devices.
Peace
mike
I bought I-tech Clip D Radio! Work awesomely!!!
BT2.0 if possible as that should theoretically support higher bitrates. The vast majority of stereo headphones are BT 1.2 however. For the most part newer 1.2 headphones will work just fine.
I have a Nokia BH-503. I think it's great (good sound, easy to use controls for music and calls, and very comfortable).
Only problem is that after I turn it off, when I turn it on, even though it reconnects in phone mode automatically, I have to manually reconnect for music. I think this is a problem with other headsets as well though.

Bluetooth Headphones

Hi there.
I am currently looking for some bluetooth headphones (not a single headset) to use with my HD. Anybody have any advice and/or experience?
Thanks!
(I'm in the UK, so ideally from UK shops!)
I did find these. No idea what they are like though:
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...21G-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headphones/Product.html#
Anybody...?
Hi,
I have been using HBH-DS980 with polaris and now with HD. Sound quality is better comapred to polaris (comparison without tweaking bt settings). Adressbook and call history works also you can see the number/name of the caller.
Music quality is quite good. AVRC is working as expected. The volume keys do not change system volume for music but I noticed that when in call, if you adjust volume from this device, phone volume is also updated.
Hope this helps.
try....
the stereo headphone, handsfree - motorola S9 - was 29 quid - i ordered then before 11am, had them by 11am next day....

just incase u wanna see, here's the link, stereo headphones - brilliant!!!!
mmm.. I've been looking for some also
This is what I come up with...

SE do others as well but do get pricey! Like this..

They do look well/compact if you get me
Any one tried the Sony Ericsson headsets? Not particualy on the HD, Just in general.

I am also looking forward to buy the HBH-IS800! Some user reviews would be nice. But wont these BT earphones be available until the beginning of december?

Heres one review I found, though not user
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/11/07/review_bluetooth_headphones_sony_ericsson_hbh_is800/
I bought some HBH-IS800 bluetooth earphones.
I haven't used them extensively yet, but one thing's for sure - they are just as dinky and slick as you expect them to be
Sound seems okay - not as good as the wired in-ear Sony ones (MR71 I think) I have been using, but easily good enough for commuting, gym etc.
Can't comment on battery life yet, but paitring is easy, and they are comfortable in the ear, despite being slightly larger than the wired type.
All in all, you could prolly get much better phones for the money (I paid £78 from mobilefun.co.uk), but for convenience, discretion and sheer smugness they're worth it in my book.
Cheers
Pete
my headsets
I use
Motorola H700 as headset and
Motorola S9 as headphone
both work fine with my HD. But I can't compare them as I only own this two parts. But I use them for almost one year and I'm very satisfied.
Best regards Wolf_munich
The HBH-IS800 surely look great. Exactly what I've been waiting for. BUT 4 hours of use is just too short...
I use this one, the sound is good
Motorola S805
Hi there
i have used two different stereo headsets with my athena- both generally crap.
Both of mine were the caller id type with controls.
1. sony HBH-DS970 crap sound- decent BT connection- voice quality (ie volume) ok after reg hack- caller id unable to display name, shows numbers only- track id cant show name- audio not loud enough, never found hack for this- ****e in ear buds- special sony charger- in ear padding falls off and gets lost for ever
2 decided I wanted to be able to use my B&O earphones so I got a ax bluestream from tritton- your own headphones plug in to the clip on BT unit- audio quality good but still too quiet- controls not intuitive- OLED- BT interference in calls is high when walking away from the phone- buggy software- no caller name or song name, just phone number. Better than the sony unit- mini usb charging
Overall my biggest problem was the lack of volume- managed to reg hack the outgoing and incoming phone audio but not the music level.
Overall i prefered the tritton option as i could use my own headphones with the buit in mic- cost more than the sony though
Battery life on the sony required me to carry the charger everwhere- especially given that the atena doesn't support calls without a headset
Hi,
Just the topic I was looking for.
I have finally come down to 3 choices:
1. Sony HBH DS200
2. Motorola S9 - Stylish. Not sure on quality
3. Sony DR-BT21G - Looks stylish as well. But crosses 40 bucks. But can purchase if there is significant difference
someone, pls compare these if possible keeping in mind the price and quality...
I was looking to purchase one for 30 quids
someone pls help me decide..
I am looking for a bluetooth headset which will allow me to listen to music on my Touch HD in the car (podcasts) but also allow me to take calls if need be without swapping headsets.
I have looked at the 3 above and none seem to do that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
The S9s should, I suppose it depends what profiles your car setup supports.
I use my S9s to listen to music vids on my laptop and I can take/make calls via my HD using the buttons on the headset.
Set the partnership on the HD to "hands free" and laptop services to "audio sink".
Be aware that the telephony audio is from one channel only. The left ear.
edit: Sorry, I misread your post.
However, the S9s will allow you to do what you ask. When listening to audio an incommimg call will pause the audio and switch to hands free telephony.
Here is the .pdf manual.

THX SO MUCH!
i use jabra 620s, i used it with my ipaq 210 , however, i sold 210 to get some money for my HD. and jabra 620s is only about 50 usd, but i compared with my UE fi 4, UE fi 4 actully is not that much better than my jabra 620s with HD~ so, 50 usd jabra 620s is a not bad choice goes with HD. the vol adjust, forward, and back, answer button, start/pouse button all work with HD~
Upgrade off motorola s9...s9-hd i'm going for this

Bluetooth headphones for TP2

Hello
I'm thinking about buying bluetooth headphones for my Touch Pro 2. So far the only one bluetooth audio device which i used was BH104 from Nokia but it wasn't for listening to music but for talking - so the quality of sound was very bad.
I would like to don't have a cable connected to rhodium in my pocket - so bluetooth headphones could be good for me. For example this one : http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Mobile/ee-uk/Products/Pages/JabraBT3030.aspx Anyone used this or other similar headphones with rhodium, blackstone or similar device? I would like to know something about sound quality. Is it better or the same like from Creative EP630 which i use now? What about battery usage with bluetooth headphones?
Any opinion would be good for me, so please post
Thanks
Nobody know?
I don't have any experience with the headphones you mentioned, but I have the Moto S9 HD's and they're pretty great.
I use the jabra bt3030. it's okay, but due to the design, has no noise cancellation and picks up wind and background noise during a call.
Note, the bt3030 are not really headphones, but a small dog-tag looking adapter for any 3.5mm headphones you like. the included chain is too long for comfortable use and the detachable clip is a bit flimsy. i use them primarily with retractable cable over the ear headphones from sony to listen to music and generally just have the bt3030 dangling from the headpones at whatever length is comfy. sound is good, using with video can be a bit much if you're watching divx or similar heavy codecs.
Firstly, thanks for info's. Yes, i know that i can connect every headphones to bt3030. I have headphones to connect, all i want is the wireless listening to the music. So if the bluetooth connection is good, then sound quality will be good too. I just wanted to know about dog-tag. How about bass level with it?

I use sony hbh ds 980 stereo bluetooth headphones and they work great. you wear a necklace which has two ear buds on a wire. on the controller you can see who is calling, scroll through contacts, call history and use voice command. as far as music there is a volume rocker, track forward and back, play/pause. Music comes through loud and clear as does calls. I never had any complaints as far as people hearing me either. the batterey lasts a full day of heavy usage. Let me know if you have any questions.
I use the Sony HBH-DS970 and it's AWESOME! I've had it for many years, used it first with my Touch Pro, now with the TP2. The battery is getting weak though, when I first got it it lasted for about 6 hours now it's about 3. When I get a new one I'm gonna get the new version (HBH-DS980). Both versions have great features: Caller ID, separate volume controls for calls & music, you can pause/play, skip (forward, & back) music & videos, The "call" button on the cord not only lets you take and end calls but it also lets you access "Voice Command" which is great. Oh, and it pauses your music when calls come in & starts it again when you're finished. These are "stereo" headsets and the sound is incredible, deep bass and all. They come with VERY soft in-ear "buds" that you won't mind wearing all day (different sizes) VERY comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this headset. The only bad thing I guess would be that it doesn't have replaceable batteries. Oh, one other thing, if you are overclocking your device make sure to disable whatever overclocking program you're using before connecting & using the headsets (that causes all kinds of issues and freezes when you're pausing & playing; among other things, not quite sure why). When you're done with the headset you can turn overclocking back on.
P.S. DO NOT buy this off of eBay! I did that to save money, they are fake, they last for about two months then fall apart. When I got the "real" one I could NOT tell them apart even though I knew which one was the "real" one, those fakes are that good. Get it from amazon or somewhere you already trust.
bluetooth headset
I have been using the
Rocketfish™ Mobile - RF-MAB2 High-Definition Stereo Bluetooth Headphones
Model: RF-MAB2 SKU: 9246862 (Best Buy USA)
for the past several months with my HTC TP2 and have really enjoyed them. Primarily for music but they are also a good phone headset as well.
life is so much better without wires. check them out & enjoy.
I use the Plantronics Backbeat 903, they work amazing for both music and call quality...I've experienced with MANY good bluetooth headsets, they ALL at times fail with in call quality...from motorola, jawbone, plantronics...Ive never purchased the cheap sets, and regardless, theyre bound at some point to have an occasional call where the other party mentions some sort of weirdness to the call quality...the Backbeats have had very few instances of this...they're "considered" multipoint as they can be sync'd to multiple devices, but only for music, they do not have "true" multipoint, as the jawbone does, to handle calls to two phones simultaneously...regarding the music playback quality,...amazing

+1 as I'm happy with mine too. However, this question had ever existed and discussed before

[Q] anyone familiar with rocketfish RF-MAB2 headphones ??

Anyone familiar with the RF-MAB2 stereo Bluetooth headsets?? read some pretty good reviews about them and was thinking of getting one..
any help regarding sound quality (especially bass response) and overall compatibility with X10 will be greatly appreciated..
any better headsets suggestions is also welcome..
Thanx in advance..
wow.. nobody ?
I have the other rocket fish model of stereo bluetooth headset and they work very well. Sound its good, battery life is good. The only complaint is people say I sound far away when I'm on a phone call.
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
I was actually looking for inexpensive bluetooth headphones a few months ago and ended up buying the RF-MAB2. I've had no issues with them.
The battery life is great, I use them for around an hour each day and they typically last me a week and a half.
The controls on the headphones work good too. Has volume controls, next/prev song, play/pause and the power/call answer/hangup/ voice command button.
Audio quality is fine. Obviously it isn't going to be super awesome like some high end headphones but it's definitely good.
I'd recommend them to you if you are looking for decent, inexpensive BT headphones.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the phone, the bluetooth or the headphones but if I have the wifi and the bluetooth on on my phone at the same time the music skips a lot... took me a while to figure out it was the wifi doing it so if you are using them on wifi and they skip you gotta shut off the wifi, other than that they are great
Thanks a lot for the help guys. Think Im gonna get myself a Rocketfish.. (love the name )..
If it's any difference I also have a 5.1 Surround Sound Rocketfish sound card in my comp and it works brilliantly
With what I've bought from them I haven't had any problems.
ahhh.. BT headphones..
I've owned the Motorola HT820. VERY durable. Excellent battery life. Amazing sound
and its replacement, the Nokia BT509. the only downside to this is it uses Nokia's charge plug as the HT820's used a USB. Both are comfortable to wear for any duration of time. Call quality about the same on both..
if you want awesome bass, get some Meelec R1, wooden headphones, pretty awesome
I have the Rocketfish RF-MAB2 Bluetooth High-Def. Stereo Headset and am experiencing way too much skip!
I have tried turning off wifi and data without any success. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I also have the motorola t505 for my car and it works flawlessly.
I was assuming it was the headset that was the problem and not the settings on the phone until I used the same headset on my Samsung Focus? There is no skip on the windows phone! (Don't flame for saying windows phone, I purchased it off ebay to see how it works!)
