Hey everyone,
I just dropped to Inkino this week, and checked what cases do they have? From all I've seen the one I liked best was Noreve's Flip-Flop case. It looks great, you can make camera shots with it (about a 3rd of the back falls back for that), talk on the phone with the closed cover (special covered "hole" for the speaker) and so on.
It looks like the quality is very high, and the holder looks like it's some... weird.. material.. I doubt it's aluminium, so it shouldn't interfere with the signal, but it's not plastic either, it looks quite sturdy and reliable..
The only thing, it costs over £30, so I'm not sure... Anyone heard or used them?
Thanks
P.S. Here's a link to the inkino's store with the case:
http://www.inkino.co.uk/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=200&products_id=2987
I had a noreve flip top case for my Mio A701.
It was high quality and much thinner than most other cases. It is more expensive but you get what you pay for.

hi there,
recently i encountered a iPhone that had on it an amazing case. the case was solid in my hand and felt like it count take on tons of damage. i really liked the case and was hoping to find one for the g1.
The case was made by otterbox but I looked on their site and they dont have any cases listed for the g1. has anyone found similar high quality cases to otterbox?
here is a link to the iPhone case so you can better compare.

My brother has that case, and I doubt you'll find anything like that for the G1. That right there is a DAMN nice case. It has a TWO cases. Inner case is plastic, and outer is rubber. Both nice and thick. Also a built on screen protector. Its just HUGE. As I said, though, don't expect anything like that for the G1. They have one for a myTouch, but I doubt it compares to the iPhone one.
For the most part you probably wouldn't need a case like that unless you are bringing your phone into a war zone. However, the G1 is a bit of an awkward phone in the way its designed. It has a strange sliding mechanism and that bizarre chin which makes cases a little more difficult to design. I've used a Fishbone case for over a year now. It is a hybrid silicone and hard plastic case, here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Titanium-..._1_3?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1279768828&sr=8-3
When I bought it over a year ago, it was around $7 for everything including shipping... the cost has gone up quite a bit for reasons unknown.
Alternatively you can try the metal cases
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-G1-A..._1_3?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1279768873&sr=1-3
But this case actually doesn't allow you to use the touch screen nor slide the phone open, it locks in place, you have to unlock it and open the case to use your phone, it really is more of a carrying case rather than a protective phone cover.
Here is another one you might like, it is a full silicone case for the phone:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Soft-Silicone-S...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c0c6bbafa
The cost is okay, but after hearing some reviews from fellow members on the site, I would avoid getting the clear one, because apparently it has a yellowish tint to it.
Out of all these cases the only one I have used is the Fishbone case (and an Invisible Shield). You probably aren't considering an Invisible Shield, because they seriously ONLY protect your phone from scratches and nothing else, there is no impact resistance to it. It covers 95% of your phone, the 5% it doesn't cover is the corners of your phone, also the most likely places to get damaged when you drop it or just have it in your pocket.
So, again, I say go with the Fishbone case. It actually looks pretty cool, considering the G1 isn't a very spectacular looking phone in the first place. (don't get me wrong, I love my G1)
sweet thanks for the help!!
Yea well who knows, maybe I AM going into a warzone hehe.. Nah I just like the feel of that otterbox case.
Thanks for the heads up on that amazon case, I will check it out! And yea I heard those certain ebay cases are a wee bit yellowy.
Hi all, I know there aren't too many ATT specific cases out there yet, but I did want to do a quick review of the one that I ordered from TPU-cases (I got mine off ebay, but they have a regular site as well).
The one specifically I got was the Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case.
Overall, the case quality is solid -- compared to other TPU cases I've had in the past. It's solid enough to provide basic protection, but not too flexible (like silicon) that you have to worry about it stretching and losing its shape over time.
I opted for the matte black version, but I believe that there are other types to whatever fits your fancy. (I think the matte was/is so popular, it may be out of stock).
The other nice thing is that they throw in a free screen protector. It's a decent clear one (not anti-glare), which is my preference. It's not on par of the quality of let's say a Realook or a SGP, but for free, who's going to complain?
So on to the case review...
1. I've attached a few photos to show the overall fit of the case. It fits well, and doesn't add much thickness to the case at all (which is a huge plus for me).
2. There is a little bit of a "lip" on the front, so it you do place your phone face down on a table, it leaves enough gap to protect the screen (as opposed to laying completely flat).
3. There is a decent size cut out for the power button, but the volume rockers are actually covered. However, no functionality loss on the power buttons -- in fact I think they may actually make it easier to use.
4. There is a cutout for where a lanyard hole should be -- (aka the international version), but no biggie here.
5. On the bottom, standard cutouts for the microusb port and the primary mic.
6. For the back, nice cutouts for the camera and the speaker on the lower right.
Now for the million $$$ question -- is the top aligned correctly for the secondary noise cancellation mic???
Fortunately the answer is YES! I believe this case was originally made for the international version (evidence from the lanyard hole), but the designer -- either in a stroke of pure genius and foresight (or just plain laziness) made the top cutout for the mic large enough where it does not cover the off-center version of our mic. So it looks like it could accommodate either the international or ATT version of the SGSII. I've tried to get a close up of the top so that you can see what I am talking about.
Overall -- for a shade under $9 USD for a nice looking/fitting case and a screen protector - I would say it's a great deal.
As I mentioned earlier, unfortunately it looks like the matte version is out of stock, but the other versions should be just as good.
Site: http://goo.gl/U4KHI (main site) or you can check ebay under the seller "TPU-cases" -- http://goo.gl/kNzh1 (ebay store)
UPDATE: I didn't realize they also have an Amazon storefront, so it's available from several sources: http://goo.gl/ltQnW
I have the same exact case for my international sgs2. It's pretty good, though some micro usb cables don't work with it.
Edit: got mine from their amazon storefront.

Exact same case. Bought from Amazon for 10 bucks, prime shipping. Costly for tpu, but it had cuts for top mic as well. Fits perfectly.

I bought this along with the gloss black. I am using the gloss black as I think that it looks better (my opinion) as this matt one looks a little worn out of the box. This is only my opinion.
I was just checking out these cases on amazon and i wonder, is this the closest thing to the flexible TPU case that bodyglove made for the Captivate? It sounds like you may have had the same case for your previous phone, how does it compare?
For those who are wondering, this is the old case http://www.amazon.com/Body-Glove-Mirage-Samsung-Captivate/dp/B0040M7H96. If bodyglove made the same exact thing that fit the GS2 i would buy it in a heartbeat!
If these cases are the closest thing available i might just have to get one to see for myself. How do you like the case now that you've had it for a little while?

Actually I did have the BodyGlove case for my Captivate since it was one of the first decent cases to come out. I am not sure if you had this issue or not, but I have some scratches at the top of my phone (small ones though), but I do believe it was caused by the BodyGlove case (perhaps a little too rough on the inside).
But as for the overall material of the case -- yes, the BodyGlove case is also TPU, which is the same material. The only difference is the BodyGlove was solid black with some texturized ridges, and this case is matte black (but they also come in semi-transparent -- just comes down to your choice in visual aesthetics).
If you liked the material of the BodyGlove, then I think you'd be happy with this one as well.
i have this same case, its nice
Ditto, great case for the money. Switched to a mesh cover though as I find it's a bit sleeker, but keeping this as backup.
Love this case...

This is a pretty decent hybrid case. I uploaded a few pictures to Amazon to give more people a better chance to see what it looks like since the seller only uploaded a picture of the back, and I have the only review on Amazon as well if you want to hear what I thought about it. Basically, it's a good fit but I'm not the biggest fan of how it feels in my hand and how much thickness it adds. I honestly feel like they could have made the silicone thinner where it's covered by hard plastic and reduced the overall thickness by a lot. It's not the end of the world, but we'll see how long I have it on there before I take if off and go all slim-n-sexy again.
Also, for whatever reason Amazon didn't like my picture of the packaging so I'm attaching a picture of the mailer it comes in and the packaging you have to open. It's pretty standard stuff, but it's here for you to look at just in case.
Edit: Typo.
How do the buttons feel?
They are a little bit cheaper if you order from

This is the case I decised on too. I works, very light, but I'm not sure how much protection it offers. Coming from a Seidio Active case on an iPhone 4, this is a let down, but there aren't many choices. I'd rate it a 6 overall

Agreed - But there's not much case love for the AT&T OG so we're at the mercy of this type of case unless Seidio or Otterbox or such changes their mind about making something for us.
I got this case off eBay, just received it yesterday. For a case being under $10 its not bad and I feel it will protect it from a mild drop just fine. Also the silicone on the front has a raised lip so if you set the phone face down its not on the screen. The only real down side is that the case covers the power button so no notification light now.
I'll add pictures of mine, since its blue might be easier to see then the black case.

How does the case feel?
I purchased the one from Ventev that looks identical to this case. I sent that one back because the "TPU" it said the case was made of was really hard kinda felt like plastic. That made the buttons hard to push. Is the rubber the case made out of hard or soft like tradition TPU? I want this case because I like the two layers of protection but I dont want another case that was like the Ventev case. For now I have the Diztronic case on it and I took the plastic shell off the Belkin case and it fit over the Diztronic TPU case with little force and its like a makeshift Otterbox Commuter.

I just replaced mine with the Fusion Hybrid, I like it much better...
After only like 2 weeks, the "silicone" was stretching. It's actually more like a molded foam, and the plastic hard shell only holds it to the phone in a few areas. The plastic shell on the Fusion Hybrid actually seems to be a lot more stiff and holds it on three sides. The silicone feels a lot better on the new case as well, seems more dense...
For less than $10, neither is terrible, but I'd spend on the Fusion Hybrid...
Hello folks,
Just want you to know that Mediadevil has released their Artisan Pouch for our G3. If you don't know this article, here's the link:
http://mediadevil.com/eu/artisanpouch-leather-pouch-case-lg-g3.html
I have this pouch for my Nexus 5 and I have to say that it's the finest case I've ever seen. Great quality at not so big price, it fits perfectly and protect borders and screen from drops, and you can use your phone naked (I am esthetically offended by these otterbox and slim armours-slim????)
I was firstly surprised with the quality of the case where the pouch came when I ordered. It says that you are buying a high quality product, not some of that chinese clones that you find in ebay. Next month I'll purchase one for sure.
Let me know what you think about this.
Rgds
I like but never liked pouches unless you have screen protector and body armor on phone cause it gets scratched
Looks good, but I wouldn't want to slide my phone in and out all day.
Using a pouch seems so.. counter-intuitive. Even a flip case is easier to access the phone with
I'm looking for one, but that's quite expensive
I like pouches; protect your phone in the pocket and no ugly cases when in use. I'm looking for one for the G3 but the mediadevil looks so cheap with the creased leather, not a good look especially at £20! are there any alternatives that look better and are cheaper?
In short, I am extremely disappointed in this case and feel ripped off for having to paying $30 for a case that is worth, at MOST $5.Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/jYJuw#0
Pros:
Visually attractive at a glance.
Buttons do work.
Case leaves enough room for large headphone plugs to fit with ease.
Although I do not have a magnetic charger, there appears to be plenty of room for it to fit as long as the adapter isn't too wide.
Cons:
Bumper is plastic and very flimsy. I fully except it to shatter if my phone is ever dropped.
Extremely overpriced for the quality of case provided.
Buttons feel cheap (I can't believe they are metal), are loosely fitted, meaning they rattle when phone is shook.
The part of the bumper closest to the screen that surrounds the USB port and magnetic charger is very very fragile and can be moved almost to the point of snapping without much effort.
After picking up my T-Mobile Z3 on Wednesday I quickly went online to find a case to protect my phone. I was very much disappointed to find that there are hardly any quality cases available, especially in the US. After researching a bit, it seemed like Case-Mate was the best option there was and I put in an order for the Slim Tough.
My case came today (Saturday) and after using it for a few hours I have written this review.
If you have any questions, please ask.

Wow this is extremely disappointing I was really looking foward to getting mine on Monday. Do you feel it is at least better protection then the Ringke Fusion (as I know you have that too. It is such a shame a nice phone like the Z3 has such limited case options.

I actually do not have the Ringke Fusion so I cannot make a proper comparison.
I do know that the rubber TPU on this case is the best part and offers good protection against scratches and light bumps. It also would offer the most protection against a drop as it would absorb most of the impact. The bumper (which keeps the TPU on), on the other hand, will offer no protection and will likely shatter or break upon impact.

I agree, I'm sometimes hard on my devices. This looked like possibly a replacement for the Otterbox Commuter I used on another phone - thin and durable. Still looking for something similar.

I will give my thoughts on Monday when I get my hands on mine but I do have a feeling I will feel the same. I guess I will be atleast a little happy if its better then the Ringke Fusion I have right now (which isn't going to be hard to top) Then I can continue my search for an even better case.
Lets hope in the coming month we have some better options It's good that T Mobile is selling the phone as that might help get some people making some cases but it stinks there is no main stream companies other then case-mate making a case for the Z3.

I have to say I feel nearly the same as Christian, Looking at it it does look like a nice case but digging deeper you find some issues.
The buttons are extremely cheap and do rattle and have no clickyness to them what so ever. the plastic bumper does feel flimsy but I don't think it would crack if dropped because of the TPU behind it. However I think if you took the case off the wrong way and bent it it could easily crack. I also don't like the bulkyness it added to the width of the phone. Before I was using the case (and even with the Rinke Fusion the phone felt nice in the hand but now with the case it feels overly wide.
It does with with the Nilkin Tempered Glass Screen Protector (Barely) which is nice and I have a feeling will work with my magnetic connector (will test when I get home.
Overall I think I like it a little better then Christian and will use it over my Rinke Fusion (because I feel it has better protection) I will still be on the lookout for another case which after spending as much as I did on the case-mate is disappointing.
Overall I give it a 5/10
Well unfortunately this case is completely dead for me as it does not work with the magnetic charger port even with the cutout so back to the Rinke for me.
Where did you get the case from online? It's temporarily unavailable on Casemate's website and I can't find it anywhere else besides MobileFun (whose shipping is ridiculous)
Ebay matey.
But i'm form the UK, so it may well differ for you.

I got mine from the US Caste Mate store.
I just bought mine today at one of the sony stores here in Malaysia. I have to agree with what Christian has pointed out. The buttons feel cheap and it has the loose sound which makes it feel cheap despite the price of it. I am a fan of Spigen casing because of the hybrid colors and full protection in all corners and this case mate slim tough is the closest fit I found to Spigen. But having it on can't fit into my magnetic charging dock without removing the cover which I think it will break some day.. Now I just remove the dock holder and did some DIY card board to charge it with the casing on
I guess I will switch to Ringke Fusion soon and let my 90 bucks burns.. Ouch..
---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:21 PM ----------
Btw, I decided to sell it out, who wants it can PM me. Thanks
The un symetrical looking back just bothers me. I am waiting for Spigen to give some Z3 love.
