So maybe it's time I started cooking a Raphael Rom.
And You can Trust me when i Say "You Haven't Seen Some Of This Before, Not In This Way"

The rom is not made to kick ass in Benchmarks (But it Rocks Anyway), but Kick ass in usability by adjusting functionality and common sense.
Oh and it's Windows Mobile 6.1, because it works.

Thanks go out to the great Set of Cooking Brothers here at the Raphael Forums, After The Diamond Forums i didn't think it was possible on the newer devices. (With The Exception of a Few to name at Least McCune) And Thanks Go out to all my other Brothers from the ELF Threads, now spread all out over devices. Where you at Rock And Rollers, You know who you are. I'm sad i don't have three of my best Testers onboard. More Thanks and Credits are coming, first Heavy cooking.

Will run XDA_UC and also installs the regular SDConfig.txt programs. If it doesn't catch all items in SDConfig.txt please report as I can look for a fix.
Consider it a Standard Stock Rom +1 and this list still needs to be finalized.
Stuff That Is Not In This Rom:
No Help Files And no .lnk Files, Welcome Center, Windows Update, Managed Programs, MSN, OneNote, SQM and a lot of other unneeded Crap. Most of the Extra apps are installed into their regular Program Files Folders without the use of Unnecesary cab's and Double's in the Windows Folder (resulting in a Packed but still response rom)

What bothers me sometimes about Flashing Roms, is that your kind of stuck with a look and feel.
So i decided to make a Seperate manila Theme Switcher.
So you get 6 styles to meet your personal requirements, or to switch whenever you get tired of one.
The Manila theme looks good on any personal Backdrop you might want to use, and it's using the Background for all Tweak.
The last Grey Theme is the Switch Theme, this will rotate the backdrop at set intervals.
Any image named to Home_**.* (**01, 02, 03 et, *jpg, png etc) inside \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures or \My Documents\My Pictures, will be put into the rotation. If there's none i have suplied a few in the rom to start.
Then there's the Grey Manila Backdrop Switching Theme wo which you can set the interval to yourself.
Yes your seeing this Right you get 7 Manila Themes in one Rom
(That is including the My.tsk and My.jpg you can add to "\Storage Card\XDA_UC" to fill in the 7th slot)
No need to reflash just change your theme on the fly or let the wallpaper rotate every day or hour.
Vow! This guy spent at least 4 years reading, writing, kicking ass in this forum. And finally he decided to start cooking a ROM!
Just regret I don't have a Rapheal device, otherwise I can't help myself from giving it a try.
The OS build no. maybe somehow 'out-of-date' if compares to others on this site, or in his own language called 'classic'. But the functions will not be like that, I'm sure!
I regret the fact that I'm cooking my own roms, when I see this, lol. Is that a volume adjuster that drops down on the right side of manila? Wow, that is cool.
Can you elaborate a little on the boot-up instructions? I'm talking about this: "Whatever you do, do not reboot until you get the XDA_UC Finished message." I know there's a link, but a lot of *cough* noobs *cough* are not going to see that warning, and if they do, they probably won't read the link. Will a hard reset be need if the user reboots too early, or will something worse happen (I'm thinking about the 'r.i.p. diamond' in your signature, ).

I have made Rom's for the Elf, Wizard, Wallabee (Way Back) and a Multi Language Diamond Kitchen And had had a cooking class over at the ELf forums. I just wanted to wait untill some cool cooks left the Touch Pro for the newer versions. I finally had the time to start again and i like some of the Guys active over here at the Raphael Forum's. But i like motivating people into cooking even more. I stopped reading a while back and trying out everything for myself, it's always nicer finding out stuff yourself makes life more interesting
This build has been Made , chosen and tested by MS and HTC has used it on both the Diamond and Touch Pro for their Stock Rom Upgrades for a reason. Who am i to disagree with something that has been chosen as "Good For Release for multiple roms". I could however hunt down Builds that bhave not been fully developed and Deemed Ripe for RTM. Everyone likes breaking their heads over buggy new leaked builds that where never meant for public use. Not me I like to make a good and Stable Rom, but it can still be a bumpy ride.
I only ported over the Gwes.exe from a newer build so i could implement the HTC Menu Enhancement.
Stuff that is being used all the time in memory should be get their little set place in memory so it can perform better.

The Volume Overlay is the same as in all the Roms, But i hunted down as many Classnames of applications i use so it shows up in those apps. Before it was only used in for Instance in Youtube, WMP or Streaming Media player. It might not show up on some apps as i have not added these ClassNames to the Registry. You can find applications Classnames by using for instance Gsen or The Build in Dot Fred Taskmanager.
There is also a Volume overlay that pops up in the middle that cooks rarely use, but they always leave those graphics in the rom anyway, I chose to dump them if they are not needed.
XDA_UC is very simple just drop all your cabs into a Folder named XDA_UC The device will boot up and install them silently in the back ground.
Sometimes some cabs might ask for user imput or at the end ask to reset the device, if you chose to reset, it might be that some of your other cabs might still need to be sintalled. At the second boot the script does not run any more. Although it could run anyway as it is set to never install one cab twice.
So if you want to time the way the cabs get installed you coulc number them 01_cabname.cab 02_etc.cab. And put the cabs that ask for user input at the end.
After the message that XDA_UC has finished you can be sure that everything has been installed and unless you really need to, why bother with a reboot.
Sometimes OEM packages don't have all the registry settings that can be used for the application, sometimes you find them in one OEm and you stick with them and sometimes your forced to look inside a file because of issues your having. Thus finding out that a few missed registry settigns exist. This does not go for the Volume overlay as these settigns have been known since the beginning. But the Registry settings for the HTCAnimation Shutdown animation and sound i tripped over. (even thought some already knew these from other devices i never had)
Wow, looks pretty cool man. I never knew 'bout the volume overlay like in your screenshot. I only get the HTC fullscreen or the windows default Thats a pretty cool wallpaper too You got a name for that one?
I was gonna try that Threaded SMS from Topaz too, but never got it working. I might just have to give this ROM a try just for a change(even for a day, LOL). Should be a well built ROM
Looks awesome! Can i flash it in my kaiser. Great job noonski!
Only if you want your Kaiser to die a most glorious and exalted death. It's got to croak sometime, eh?
Hey Noonski, looks like the master is in the kitchen! BTW how would I get one of these? "Custom HTC ****Down Animation" Is that where is animates when you go to the loo?
My wishes with you Mr.Noonski. I think now I can see another dawn in the Raphael ROM development section. Let me know if I can be of any help other than a prospective lover of your ROM's.
Glad You Changed Your Mind
Congrats Noonski,
Glad you decided to put out a 6.1 ROM; I'm certain members who are looking for additional alternatives to 6.5 greatly appreciate it.
I'm interested in looking at your Volume Control PACKAGE_Noonski_VolumeControl_0000_2_1_1914_2727) to learn how you put the classes in for the applications and see how you slimmed-out the volume bar to the right.
Any possibility of posting it up here or in the RAPH OEM Repository?
Cheers,

I will eventually post the OEM to this thread and the Repository to.
The new Topaz Volume overlay uses new registry keys to put the classnames.
I used Gsen to find them (one bored day in the sun)

That would be this, if there was some seriousness in your post
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation]
"StartupGif"="\\Windows\\animated.gif"
"ShutDownAsStartup"=dword:00000000
"ShutDownWav"="\\Windows\\BootUpHTC.wav"
"StartupWav"="\\Windows\\BootUpHTC.wav"
"ShutDownGif"="\\Windows\\animatedSB.gif"
Otherwise i will leave the ****down in the Post
I reversed the the default HTC startup animation, i haven't found a good Sh!tdown .wav and don't know how to make one with the correct amount of frames/length.

Well you could Try Nightly V3 to start with:
http://rapidshare.com/files/255532891/S.P.C.6.1.0405.3.7z
(seems it wasn't something with QuickMenu but a Corrupt CPL item that Broke Shell.exe, it as corrupt because of Compression)
Remember i've only been at it for a few days now, so there's a lot of shortcuts i still need to move and icon's i need to make.
(and add more documentation on what is actually in there, i see i did not Mention Lumos)

B4PJS, just gave me inspiration for the Name for the WallPaper "****less Pieces of Clay dolls from Windows 7 wallpapers", i might even have to take it out If Microsoft notices, and they will, as they have that Ameet Spying on me during his free time.
I just threw in the SMS threaded OEM's from Rhodium, but haven't tested it yet (all control panel apps get Grey scale New Icons), but i actually have no need for it.
I already have a mortscript to disable and enable that in the Updated Classic PHM Administrative Tools ControlPanel folder.
For now it is indeed a very FlashBy addicts kind of rom, but the intention is to have the end result be a Flash once and stick with it kind of Rom.
Pfew finished,
Nice to see a few Nice faces pop up here, here i thought i could hide in obscurity.
Me, serious?? Never!!! Glad to provide some inspiration though!
jmckeejr, please find attached 4 of the scripts i'm using in the PHM Administrative Tools folder.
Key Press Settings.mscr
(to change LongPress.lnk files in Windows with Links in Start Menu)
Menu Font Options.mscr
(Change the Menu fonts to small medium and large, even though most people are using HTC Menu Enhancement some apps don't get hooked, so having larger menu's is more finger friendly i use the bigest setting)
Threaded SMS.mscr
(Screw a seperate app to change Threaded SMS it also reboots the device when settings are changed)
Word Suggestion Options.mscr
(This worked on wizard to change to default Wizard Word suggestion while using the default Keyboard)
These bassicely are the same as the one i have to switch between the D3D drivers.
So you can easily adjust them to add your own personal Tweaks to be aplied extra in Rom.
Also attached the Reversed HTC Start up to set as ShutDown animation animatedSB.zip.
Hmm, i forgot was this a Rom thread or cooking thread?

HTC Decided That Old Users would not miss the Camera Button and they only care about the New users. I do miss the extra Camera Button And i miss a decent D-Pad, how the hell are we supposed to play Games. If i'm correct these Long_ hooks should be somewhere in KbdNopAll.dll or keypad.dll
No Camera in there, but i do wonder what some of these do and react to
Short_Power.lnk
Long_Power.lnk
Short_PTT.lnk
Long_PTT.lnk
Short_SMS.lnk ?
Long_Send.lnk
Short_Explore.lnk ?
Short_OperaL.lnk ?
Short_Messaging.lnk ?
Short_SMS.lnk ?
As Raphael does not have Internet buttons.
Which Gives me change of the first finished "Removed Packages" attachments.
Small Tute on Using These .XDAS files.
I have removed packages from the ROM that i really never have any need for personally.
I will try to provide these as .XDAS files instead of Cabs.
They are quicker and leave less mess than a .cab file
Download the file, then take away the .zip extension.
Then drop them into the XDA_UC folder on your SD card before Flashing.
Or you can execute them on the device by renaming the .xdas extension to .xda after flashing.
This is of course only if you need this particular part.
Do not rename the package beyond taking away the .zip extension as it will not install.

grooveROM Visual Kitchen from Evirus -- based on Bepe's Platform Rebuilder
Download the latest kitchen [070909] here soon
Here's a few things about the new Visual Kitchen:
- This is a dual device kitchen. Make sure to select the correct configuration for your device.
- This kitchen is pretty new for me, and I am still somewhat of a visual kitchen noob. As always, I will do my best to answer questions, but I'm learning this kitchen as I go, so bear with me.
- This kitchen makes porting new builds from other devices relatively easy -- more on this in time..
- The kitchen has duplicates overwrite feature, so you won't get BuildOS duplicate errors, but what this also means is that if you do have duplicates, the first in the chain will get overwritten by the last. There's an option to alert of duplicates, but you gotta look.
- This kitchen handles OEMs differently than older kitchens, so you can either put your OEM's in the appropriate OEM folder (you can delete option.xml), but you can't disable any packages in OEM folders in the kitchen. If you want to be able to disable packages, you need to convert them to EXT packages. What you do is take your old style OEMs and put them all in one folder, and drag the entire folder onto EXT_PAckages_rebuilder.exe in the kitchen, and it will convert for you. Then you put the new OEM in the appropriate Device sub folder of the EXT folder -- ie: EXT/RAPH800/23001/RAPH800_External_Packages. If your package contains modules, you need to move the module into the files folder of that package.
- To select or deselect EXT or SYS packages, just double click it in the kitchen, once you've got the kitchen running. Packages in the OEM folder can't be deselected, so if you want to remove any of them, you need to remove the package manually.
- To run the kitchen, double click erviuskitchen.exe and the kitchen will open. Then choose load rom in the upper left, and choose the latest groveROM build. This will automatically load the stock settings for my ROM.
- To build ROM, click create ROM in the upper left. Watch the bottom of the screen for progress. Once done, your new RUU_signed.nbm (the rom) will appear in the RELEASE_RAPH800 folder.
- By default, the ROMs are build with a 6MB pagepool, so be sure to change it to your desired PP with the PP changer -- I perfer 24MB. Then flash the rom with the Custom_RUU.exe as normal. Or you can change in in the rom build by clicking the "other" button in the upper left before cooking.
- I don't care what you do with my kitchen. You can use any OEM's or files you find, but please give me the proper credit if you post a public ROM with elements of my work, or repost any files. Thanks.
Reserved parking.
Sweet! I can't wait until you post the new kitchen. I've began to like the ervius kitchen. So far the 23004 ROM is doing well! gj&thx!
5th post on a NEW GROOVE thread
Im still working with getting used to the VC. I keep having issues with a Rhodium package that ive used in the past that wont load( but thats probably the indian and not the arrow). But also Ive Used Rstoyguys OEM for sounds for awhile now, but ive noticed that in the last month or so the power on/off sounds dont work. Groove do you know of anything that would be over riding them from your sys/oem etc ? glad to see your back up

Wow... just a little panic after you poofed from ppcgeeks, but glad you're still keeping this rom going!
I was away a few days... and since that other thread disappeared, what's the diff between 0705 and 0709? Is this yet another core rev?
Great to see your keeping this going Groove! Think I might have started something bad over at PPC asking where you went. Keep up the great work!
Are you planning on hosting grooveROM for the diamond here or somewhere else Indagroove?
alright i found your thread!!!!!! cant wait for the kitchen!

It prolly has something to do with the order in which your oems are processed. You prolly have a reg setting that is getting overwritten. Export your rgu for the manila package, and convert it to a cab with cereg editor, then cab install the reg settings into a rom that has the manila cooked in. The other possibility is that a file or something is getting overwritten. Watch the process for overwrite warnings.
Also, how are you adding the oem -- as OEM or EXT? Where are you putting the package exactly? How did you convert it.

MANILA v2.0 QVGA for WM6.5
-------------------------------------------------
ANNOUNCEMENT
I'm not able to provide any support anymore to this thread since I don't have any Windows mobile device left. My old HTC Polaris is running on Android now. So if you have any questions just post it here or use search, don't PM me because I probably won't answer.
Good luck,
-------------------------------------------------
Manila v2.0 have been leaked from HTC. The great thing with this version is that it comes from HTC Mega, a.k.a Touch2 which have native QVGA screen resolution so there is no need for porting or resizing of applications.
Big thanks goes to Da_G who made available to all of us build 19171723 and conflipper for latest build 19191432. Raw HTC Mega build 19171723 packages are here and build 19191432 packages are here.
NOTE:
Originally Da_G posted Mega packages for cookers so they can cook into Roms. I just made a quick cab so anyone can benefit and try out before your favorite cookers will release new Roms. Making cabs still takes some time so I'll add other Mega cabs later.
It is released as is, so it may or may not work on your device.
WHATS NEW IN THIS VERSION?
new home tab with flipping clock and weather widget [only in build 19191432 from 23-09-09]
it has new folderview (bugless finally), works flawlesly, also All settings soft key now is working properly with WM6.5.
footprints widget is working with latest build 19191432, but its not included. You have to install apart.
there is new Sound Control canvas in settings tab
there is new Mail Setup canvas in settings tab (needs Email Setup Wizard and New Mail Account cabs to work, link below)
In my opinion the biggest change in this Manila version is HTC new approach to finger friendly menus, settings and applications in tight integration with Manila. The rest you can see in screenshoots.
MUST READ
----------------------------------
original version works only on WM6.5. I included patched version which should work with other phones and WM6.1 (thanks to mbarvian and silymore)
this is only WWE version, its not translated yet to other languages.
if you had any previous version of Manila, don't forget to uninstall it and do soft reset before installing this version. Also keep in mind that it will keep your personal settings, like people tab photos, weather cities or launcher number of rows/clomuns.
Manila customizer theme manager won't work properly since home tab is totally revamped by HTC
to set Opera as default browser in Manila you need to change the following registry settings:
Code:
\HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetWidget\
"OperaEXEFile"=<Path to Opera>
"WebBrowserType"=dword:00000001
Apparently leaked Manila files are beta version and for that reason debbug logger is enabled in some applications by default. So you will have to disable it by deleting this registry key as soon as you have finished installing all programs. They key will reappear, but don't worry, it will not log anything.
Code:
HKLM\Software\HTC\DebLogger
If original Notification Enhancements or some other system cabs does not work for you try SDK signed cabs from link below.
For Weather patched Manila version look in this post. Currently only for WM6.5. (thx to S.V.I)
If you have Sprint or other non HTC device and SMS button does not work for you then look for fix HERE (thx to Vancer)

LAST NOTE:
As I already told this version of Manila is very tightly integrated into HTC Mega package and it is almost impossible to have clean standalone version. Nevertheless it is possible to run it with minimum requirements without problems, so don't expect to work every single function and module. Also this version is designed for WM6.5 and it may not work flawlessly with WM6.1.
To run Manila with base functionality you will need to install these cabs:
(you will have running Manila with basic tabs working. Obviously Album, Audio Manager and Settings tabs won't work or work partly, but it gives aproximate idea ans feeling about this Manila version)
MANILA BASE
[WM6.5] HTC 2DManila 2.0.19191432.04.WAlien.cab - it have now flipping clock and animated weather in home tab!
Important! For weather update to work you must install geo localisation files. Also its known issue that weather in home tab does not work on CDMA phones.
HTC Scroll 2.0.19173130.WAlien.cab
HTC Shared Modules 1.01.19143331.01.cab
HTC Framework 1.1.19183729.WAlien.cab
HTC DRM Middleware 1.5.19142824.00.cab
HTC HTCAnimation 1.3.5.0.cab

(if all cabs are installed successfully you will have fully functional Manila. In case something does not work for you try SDK signed cabs in link below)
MANILA +
HTC Album 3.0.19182223.WAlien.cab - can't rotate images (what is not a bug, but normal functionality) and videos in album does not play.
HTC FullScreenPlayer 1.7.19183031.01.WAlien.cab - will be needed to playback videos in album, but currently it does not work. For now its just optional cab for testing
HTC AudioManager 2.2.19182329.LR1.WAlien.cab
HTC Audio Booster 2_5_19182330.WAlien.cab

HTC Media Tool kit 1.0.19171631.00.cab - must have

MANILA GFX FILES
----------------------------------
Here is Manila with optimized graphics and skinned to black theme. Graphics size was reduced down from 11Mb to 3.2Mb (Gain of7Mb!!!). Big thanks to S.V.I who did this titanium job of editing over 700 files. Launcher tab is disabled by default as WM6.5 have its own good launcher.
I also resized Phones Canvas and reduced size down from 1.7Mb to 466Kb (Gain of 1.3Mb). Just so you know to gain more performance some of the graphics is stored in \Windows\ManilaGFX folder.

I'm currently using the last Manila 2D Build that was available in herg's thread cooked into an Atom Life ROM.
EDIT: ah what the hell, i'll just try it
can you share how to come with cab version from a rom version? please give me a start.
Doesn't work on LG KS20 running Farah's WM6.5 ROM.

i installed it on my ks20 with wm6.1 (KisS 20.5). had to use patched manila2d.exe. it starts as it should, but thats all, i cannot work with it at all. scrolling is no problem, but any button e.g. adding contacts to people tab or adding programs doesnt work. when i press a button just nothing happens. dont know if its because of 6.1 or the patched exe . maybe i will flash to 6.5 to test that.
edit: installed some fixes that were added in previous versions of herg and now everything works great

Didn't Work
Did not work on my ELFin. Installed it and on the Today screen prompts "Tap to launch TouchFlo, i do, it starts launching and goes back to the "Tap to...."
Paul
Yes, bottom bar is colored, but sliding tab is transparent.
For those having problems installing be sure that you have all basic applications from HTC + some others like:
- HTC Album
- HTC Audio Manager
- YouTube
- GoogleMaps
For more information look at the old Manila thread.
Also this is only WWE version, won't work correctly with other languages.
@cruiserrr - to make cab file you will need cab maker. I'm using WinCE Cab Manager which is not free, but you can find freewares too. Usage is quite simple, just add files, registry entries and press make cab, thats it.

Yeah, I am familiar with cabwizsp, and wince cab manager. But I do not know what to do with the oem package. How do I edit/export the OEM package into the files, reg entries, etc? Once splitted I take everything in there, to make the cab?

If we choose the OEMPackage Manila2D for example:
Start a new cab on WinCECM, insert all files on the cab except a file with extension .rgu.
When it's done, File>Import>REG File, and choose the .rgu file.
If you have a dll on the OEM package, use that for recompile a DLL : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2293746&postcount=8
I think it's good ?
Cab from Exe
Hy, how can i do a cab from your exe ? (HTC Mega)

HTC Sense is a "design experience, an architecture that is all about how
people use the device, making their content personal to how they use the device.".
HTC Sense 2.5.2012 was come from official RHODIUM_S2 [^] project (ROM), originally supported for WVGA screen only. To fit VGA Screen for Diamond and Raphael (Touch Pro) we need to port LUA, MODE9 and some QTC files from HTC Sense packages.
HTC Sense 2.5.2012 was designed for lower hardware than original HTC Sense that come from LEO ROM ( Already ported by kisja & amarullz [^] ), so the performance was greatly improved.

Differences between Manila 2.1 and HTC Sense 2.5.
Captain_Throwback already create the great list of difference between Manila 2.1 and Sense 2.5.
Home tab:
Sense 2.1 - Home tab includes World Clock w/Weather under time & Animated Weather wallpaper. Quick links to Call History & Calendar under time. Scrolling up will reveal several calendar entries.
Sense 2.5 - Home tab includes World Clock w/Weather under time & several choices of Animated wallpaper, including Weather. Quick link to Calendar under time, one Calendar entry shows. Scrolling up reveals 6 Quick Link shortcuts that can be customized to add a Program shortcut, Contact shortcut, or Bookmark.
People tab:
Sense 2.1 - People tab is the same as previous versions of Manila. Features 3D shortcut to Contact card for Favorites, selectable using bladelist along side of tab. Contact numbers are listed underneath selected Contact picture, and can be dialed with a single press.
Sense 2.5 - People tab features a grid view which shows 6 contact shortcuts at a time (scrolling up reveals additional shortcuts). Each shortcut uses Contact Picture for identification, and can be customized to View Contact Card, call a selected number, send a text or email (an icon in the bottom right of the picture will indicate the selected default action). The shortcut is actually 2 buttons - the picture acts as a direct shortcut to the default action as selected previously, and the bottom portion (which displays the contact name) opens the Contact card for that person. If there is an unread notification from that person, it will show up as a green icon on the bottom right of the button.

Don't Forget To Donate Me:
Android has an advance system for installing OS and updates, unlike other mobile OS that distributed the contents of OS in static ROM image(s), Android distributing the OS and updates in a plain zip file that contains all packages files and the updater for processing the installation.
The updater split in 2 type, the binary (update-binary) and script (updater-script), while the binary was executable files, and the script was configuration script that controlling the binary executable what to install.
But this advance technology never expanded into it highest potential ability, the update-binary was simply the linux executable wrote in C that runs in root mode, and can do anything into your system, including accessing Display FrameBuffer, accessing key and touch screen, set vibrate, runs programs, parsing files, loading png(s) and zip, and also reading and writing filesystem.
Old update-binary only support few functions that can controlled only by updater-script for installing the files, and not even one function that allowed the installer to show interactive user interface for users to input something that can manipulating the installing process. There is some program called "yesno" that show Yes or No interface, but it wasn't even enough to create more customizable updater.
Now with AROMA Installer update-binary, all this limitation was gone, and this advance technology already expanded into the highest level of its pontential.

What is AROMA Installer
"AROMA" was taken from Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) and it's mean "Smells", but also abbreviation of "Amarullz ROM Manifest". It was advance update-binary for Android that contains many features like Wizard Installation, Touch User Interface (AROMA UI), Customizable Packages, System Inspecting, Themeable, and User Interactive. All release version will had "Smell Things" codename, example in 1st version it has codename "Anggrek" which mean "Orchid".
How AROMA Installer Works
It works because Chuck Norris drive the high tech jet plane with high tech technology to be able to control your phone in remote and show you an awesome Installer in your phone.
No, Seriously, When user select the zip file to install it, the recovery will extract the update-binary and runs it with few arguments, all process and stuff was simply handled by update-binary, the recovery only show the information passed by update-binary via custom pipe. The great things is that update-binary can do anything if we can code it in C/C++, but not all people can easily playing with C/C++, and Its not effective and not fun at all to compiled it every time we need to change the process. That's why the custom script also used in AROMA Installer, it was simply edify script that used in normal updater-script but with expanded functions available.
It wasn't a simple thing to archive something like this, because the update-binary is simply the "linux executable" that doesn't even supported with dynamic links of libraries, not even supported basic drawing functions like drawrect, drawline, and don't expect it can included OpenGL in it's binary. It's runs on it's own. Even User Interface was wrote from scratch to manipulating directly into display framebuffer, user input was readed directly from raw of kernel input device, png and zip was readed with static link library, and the configuration was parsed in it's own program. It was result of one full month of developing, but you can use it in an instant learning without even need to know how to manage memory usage and pointers.
The AROMA Installer will read, parsing, and run the script commands to show it's UI's, Calculate partitions sizes, create-read and write temporary prop files, set & get variables, do simple integer comparisons and math sequences, do the if else or inline if conditions, configuring UI color scheme, configuring rom information, and many more.
Because it wasn't that simple and need a lot of time to developing it, did I worth to get some donations from my works?.

Mods made by other than amarullz:
Stop Clock from Flipping 01:02(for Manila_Home_2_5_20111612_0):See attachment for the file, just overwrite the original file. No more weird bugs like the clock getting stuck or 0:00AM bug!
Disable HTC Messaging Client:Don't include HTC Messaging Client then import these registry keys:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Manila://PeopleDetail\\peopleMessageClassic.page.hidden"=dword:0
"Manila://PeopleDetail_SIM\\peopleMessageClassic.page.hidden"=dword:0
"Manila://PeopleDetail\\peopleMessage.page.hidden"=dword:2
"Manila://PeopleDetail_SIM\\peopleMessage.page.hidden"=dword:2
Then you can get a Manila 2.1-like messaging interface.
For CDMA2000 users, please download the attachment(for Manila_People_2_5_20111710_5) and overwrite the original file.
amarullz's NoMsgClient Mod provides more functions and you can use it instead, if you are using amarullz's mod, DON'T include my file!(the registry keys are ok)

The Packages marked with * are not Necessary to cook in the ROM but if cooked will only enhance some more aspects.
Also CDMA Device Chefs Should NOT Cook The Packages Marked with ^ As They May Create Issues.
IMPORTANT: ALL OF THESE PACKAGES ARE NOT NECESSARY BUT IF ADDED WILL ONLY ENHANCE PERFORMANCE.
ALSO ALL OF THESE PACKAGES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXT PACK BY AMARULLZ & AAMIKAM IN THE DOWNLAOD POST.
IF YOU CAN'T FIND ANY GO HERE ( You Will Find Most Of The Optional ones )
Again: CDMA Device Chefs Should NOT Cook The Packages Marked with ^ They Can Create Issues.
Placing The Packages In The Kitchen:After extracting all the packages you will be having three folders
1. Original WVGA manila 2.5.2012
2. Ported VGA manila 2.5.2012
3. EXT Packages
Step 1.
Copy the Original WVGA Packages Folder And Place It In:
For Raphael:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Raphael\Common\010_Manila_2_5_2012_WVGA
For Diamond:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Diamond\Common\010_Manila_2_5_2012_WVGA
After that the folder's tree structure should be something like this:
ORIGINAL WVGA Packages:
HTML:
010_Manila_2_5_2012_WVGA
|
+-- Manila_Calendar_XXX
+-- Manila_Core_XXX
+-- Manila_Home_XXXX
+--...
+--...
Step 2.
Copy the Ported VGA Packages Folder And Place It In:
For Raphael:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Raphael\Common\020_Manila_2_5_2012_VGA
For Diamond:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Diamond\Common\020_Manila_2_5_2012_VGA
After that the folder's tree structure should be something like this:
PORTED VGA Packages:
HTML:
020_Manila_2_5_2012_VGA
|
+-- Manila_Calendar_XXX_VGA
+-- Manila_Core_XXX_VGA
+-- Manila_Home_XXXX_VGA
+--...
+--...
Step 3.
Copy the EXT Packages Folder And Place It In:
For Raphael:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Raphael\Common\011_Manila_2_5_2012_Requirements
For Diamond:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Diamond\Common\011_Manila_2_5_2012_Requirements
After that the folder's tree structure should be something like this:
EXT Packages
HTML:
011_Manila_2_5_2012_Requirements
|
+-- aGPS_Confirmation_1_0_XXXXX
+-- Audio_Manager_Engine_2_XXXXX
+-- Concurrence_Mgr_1_XXXXX
+--...
+--...
Now After These 3 Steps Your EXT folder tree Structure Should Be Something Like This:
HTML:
Kitchen
+-- EXT
+-- Diamond / Raphael
+-- Common
+-- ...
+-- 010_Manila_2_5_2012_WVGA
+-- 011_Manila_2_5_Requirements
+-- 020_Manila_2_5_2012_VGA
+-- ..
+-- ..
+-- Shared
+-- ..
+-- MyTools
+-- OEM
+-- ..
+-- ..
NOTE: The VGA Folders Numbering Should Be Higher Than That Of The WVGA packages, So That They Can Be Successfully Overwritten.
Adding A Tweaks Folder:
If you wish to add a Tweaks folder with ONLY manila tweaks in it all you need to do is:
Get the Original Tweaks FromHere , Here or Here Convert Them Into OEMs And Place It In:
For Raphael:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Raphael\Common\030_Tweaks_Manila_2012
For Diamond:
HTML:
Kitchen\EXT\Diamond\Common\030_Tweaks_Manila_2012
IMP: Just Note That The Tweak Folders Numbering Should Be Greater Than The Ported manila 2.5.2012 Packages'.
Now If You Have Added A Tweaks Folder Your EXT Folder Tree Structure Should Be Something Like This:
HTML:
Kitchen
+-- EXT
+-- Diamond / Raphael
+-- Common
+-- ...
+-- 010_Manila_2_5_2012_WVGA
+-- 011_Manila_2_5_Requirements
+-- 020_Manila_2_5_2012_VGA
+-- 030_Tweaks_Manila_2012
+-- ..
+-- Shared
+-- ..
+-- MyTools
+-- OEM
+-- ..
+-- ..
Numbering The Directories:
Ervius Visual Kitchen will read and process the EXT directories in alphabetical order, i.e. the '010' files will overwritten by identically named files in '011',
and '011' files will be overwritten identically named files in the '012' directory, and so on.
This is the reason why numbering the VGA Packages Higher than the WVGA packages is necessary .
Then only will the VGA Packages overwrite the WVGA packages.
Similarly The Tweaks' Folders numbering should be Higher than the Ported Manila 2.5.2012 Packages'.
And You Are Ready For Cooking:
And You Are Ready, Cross Check The Steps Once Again, Execute Erviuskitchen.exe, and wait as a fresh ROM is baked with the latest cutting edge manila 2.5.2012.
Be happy.
Enjoy.
But, Also Be Grateful To All The Developers Who Have Worked Very Hard To Give You This.
Say Thank You To All Of Them.
And Do Not Complain.
My Thanks To:
amarullz, cnzqy1, aamikam, programatix, Captain_Throwback, HTC- Without Which Also This Would Not Be Possible, XDA- The Ultimate Platform For Windows Mobiles.
EXTRASHow To Cook E-reader, Document Browser And Footprints Tabs?
NOTE: These packages are all from the Leo Leaked ROMs And are best suited for 1Ghz Processors and WVGA screens.
They have not yet been ported over to VGA resolution, although they work fine on our Devices; except the speed lag ofcourse.
1) Download the packages from Here.( Packed by Captain_Throwback)
2) Place them all in a folder which is of greater value than the folders containing WVGA , VGA manila files ( Tabs ).
3) Make sure you haven't missed a package from the rollup given above.
4) Execute the Build, after configuring the rest of your Kitchen as normal.
5) Done; you have the latest Tabs From HTC on your Device.
NOTE: These tabs MAY cause lag in speed and increased RAM usage; These tabs are optional and extra not necessary to cook.
Also NOTE again; these Tabs are meant for the LEO device and WVGA resolution; so please don't post on the thread stating issues like it is big for my screen or its too slow.
ENJOY.
A Demo Video Here:
There is a little video recorded by jamirolandia - it shows the Sense UI and how it works on his ROM.
This basically gives you a rough idea of how it actually works on your device This is for the people who have never actually used the Sense 2.5.2012 UI.
Thanks to jamirolandia for sharing.

Dump the Rhodium S2, grab the needed packages, I think your Manila version is incorrect.
Now Time to have a look at HTC Contact Picker,,
@amarullz: The People_Pages.xml has been changed in new Manila People, please use the new one to make the mod because old one will cause some problems(some menus can't be accessed).

Yeah, I can't spot much difference.
hi at all...finally is ported the new sense...but i have to report an issue, infact
on the cfc localized original wvga rhodium package miss the home manila package and the photo package...for the rest is all ok...i hope in a quickly correction of this
Glad we all got a new homeee for 2012
great idea to start a new thread the last one got confusing....
In the next couple days we should start with adding in the Dependencies and needed Packages like we did last time. We should add in all the latest 2011/2012 EXT packages, and if they haven't been ported yet and were still using the old 1920 packages we should get them ported over...
New thread New version of manilla, no reason to be using old packages just "because they work for right now"
also, just wondering if any of the files were updated from today compared to yestarday? I noticed on the home page it says the 16th (today), when yestardays files on the old location said the 15th.

Well there are particular packages that are might not neccessarily needed but would be nice to port over. Just take a look at the old Dependencies and package list. Theres a good amount left to port over. obviously no rush, but would be nice to have instead of relying on old packages.

It's not included in Rhodium Manila 2.5 and won't be ported, because few people use it and it need quite a lot of work to get it work.

Sadly, there is no room for improvement on this ROM, the sense version is the latest we can have on Raphael, the Microsoft new builds are nothing great - just the same. And I can't put more good looks into this ROm - our device sadly won't be able to handle it.
This is the last version of the ROM - unless some major breakthrough in Windows Mobile.
However, if you have any problems I'm still around to solve them, and I still use my Raphael - it has given me so much : )
We have hit over 20,000 downloads
Thank you so much.

FAQ & TIPS
THIS ROM IS ONLY FOR GSM HTC TOUCH PRO/ HTC FUZE NOT FOR CDMA DEVICES.
How to flash?
1. Please read and understand Flashing your First GSM Raphael Rom (For Noobs) Guide before starting to flash your Touch Pro. Follows the instruction on how to flash the Hard-SPL package (once only).
2. Download and extract The Neon ROM using WinRAR/7z.
3. Run RaphaelWrapper.exe to begin the flashing process.
5. After the first boot, do hard reset.
6. Please be patient while the custom work is being done.
7. Please be patient manila is a heavy UI and takes time to boot on our old devices.
8. All set, sitback and Enjoy.
Tips/Questions
[Q:Sense Clock] Everytime I go to Sense home, Clock is changed to another time and flips to correct time. What' the problem?
[A] It's not a bug or problem. It's HTC Sense effect of home tab. Don't worry about it! If you don't like it, You can disable it. Read Here.
[Q:Sense Messaging] When I'm reading a message in Messages tab, I can't go back to Sense. Actually there's no back button. What should I do?
[A] It's because of incomplete HTC Sense port. Use End Key to go back to Sense Home Tab Or Slide The Icon To Another Tab ( Contact or Call History) And then press back.
[KEYBOARD LAYOUT] Default keyboard layout is set for HTC Touch Pro. If you have AT&T Fuze, switch your layout using ProFuze KB settings and soft reset you device. Keyboard Selector app is located in "Start Menu > Tools >Tweaks> ProFuze KB settings"
[DEAD BOOT] Sometimes maybe boot process stop or first boot customization hang without any progresses. This is not related to ROM bugs, it happens sometimes because of some reasons. If that happened to you, just Hard Reset your device and try again.
[COMPATIBLE DEVICES] This ROM is compatible with GSM Raphael only. If your device is HTC Touch Pro or AT&T Fuze, you can use it. Other device (such as Sprint Touch Pro) cannot use this because this ROM doesn't support CDMA.
[AFTER FLASH] It's highly recommended to do a Hard Reset just right after flashing NBH file to the device.
[AFTER FLASH] Please don't change your theme to "cook" ( its there in the Theme Menu ) as that is the pre cooked theme with XDA_UC package; just ignore it.
[USING GPS TAB] if you use the GPS tab and use it with an additional maps application, then point your tabs setting to your app. By tweaking the follwing Regs ( using PHMRegEdit found in Tools )
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"BL_GPS_TomTom_Path"="\\Internal Storage\\Program Files\\Navigator\\Tomtom Navigator.exe"
Point it to your locati0on of maps and it will work fine. It goes for TomTom Googlemaps or iGO if you use those apps.

[IF YOU WANT IE BACK]just check this reg key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\ EFBROWSER]
"0"="Opera Browser"
"1"=""\\Program Files\\Opera Mobile 10\\Opera10-armv4i.exe""
"3"=dword:00000000
"2"=dword:00000001
Click to collapse
Change '0' to Internet explorer and '1' to \\iexplore.exe then reset the phone and it should be working then.
[IF YOU FIND THE HTC DIALER BUGGY] - Sometimes the HTC dialer can be buggy in the titanium version ( it may show up a scroll bar or hide the End Keys - that is because the dialer has been ported to VGA from WVGA.
Anyways to get rid of the HTC dialer you can install this CAB Disable HTC Dialer.
[IF YOU FIND THE AUDIO TOO LOUD] - that is because i have set the AudioPara to the highest level, i personally find Raphael Speaker very silent, but if you want normal sound levels install this CAB here to restore default Volume levels View attachment AudioParaOrig.cab

SIP?
Hi Madnish, looks exiting! Just curious about one thing - the Sip - which version is it? Recently I flashed a couple of ROMs, which shall go unnamed, where when you held down a letter like for instance "a" - instead of getting an expanded list of accented a's it started repeating the exclamation point on the screen... Great if you're just an English language user, a dealbreaker if you're not...

Hi Madnish,
I am not one hundred percent sure because there are so many ways to customize EzInput. But it should be easy to check - just hold a finger down on the "a" key on the EzInput Sip - if you get an extended menu with accented characters like á, å, ä, à etc. then it's the right one. If you instead get multiple !!!!! exclamation points, then it's an English-only version...
...seeing your screenshots Madnish I now understand why you call it the Neon rom!

I think you didn't get me. Those sounds work irrespective of what kernel you use
Well if I can figure out how to do it within late Labs out of XDA, I will, but my intention was to start a new post, but I'll reply here, that's if this thread actually gets any other replies. But what I was intending on starting was supposed to wear, since I can't myself find them, people can upload / share all of their startup / boot sounds! For example I used to have an old ZTE n9511 I don't remember the exact model number, but I do know those numbers were in it, and it had the coolest startup sound, but I can't find it for the life of me! Somewhere in my massive on my end of Linux machines, it's on there, I just have to look. But I figure he'll, Why not start a thread, if I can figure out how to do it from the XDA Labs amp, or maybe replying to this thread might get some on board, and see if we can't come up with a nice zip RAR Archive of startup sounds from all kinds of devices! Because some of them, are kind of hard to find, for example on AT&T tablets, such as the ZTE Trek 2 HD, has a different tone than the AT&T logo that came out a couple of years ago, that you would always here on TV. Anyways thought I would write this, and chime in with any suggestions, or anyways we can upload this, because I personally would love it. I myself have quite a few sounds that I would be more than happy to share! And also, even if you're not rooted, just thought I would point out, that you can for example using one of many apps, Bluetooth File Transfer, the free version even, from the Play Store, to copy your boot / power on / power off sounds from your system directory, to say Dropbox, or your SD card, which is nice, since you don't have to be rooted.
