Are all iPhone cable headsets compatible with Touch HD? - Touch HD Accessories

Or has anybody found some, which are't working with the Touch hd?

I've bought one for IPhone, hoping that it works with Touch HD. Unfortunaltely, the button doesn't allow to answer calls
After opening the device on the wire and checking the connections I've found that there are two wires that are inversed so it cannot work as is. Sorry, I don't remember the brand of headset.

Compatible headset with remote control?

Hello!
Can anyone here suggest me some headset (NOT Bluetooth) with remote control, which is compatible with HD? Unfortunately RC E100 is not compatible, it is just only for diamond and touch pro

Unfortunately, none exists (and most probably none will exist, unless it will use both the audio and the extUSB jacks). The 3.5mm jack in fact seems to be a disadvantage.
Let's hope I'm wrong and the 3.5mm jack is capable of transmitting data and powering the remote, but I wouldn't bet on this.
Well, on the headphones that come with the HD, there are 2 buttons with which you can do commands, maybe thats what he means.
He is talking specifically about RC E100.
Which 2 buttons are you talking about? I have only one, which allows to hang up/pick up or dial last number. This is standard for most phones, although usually there's also a volume control.
I'm talking about a remote control as headset, which has play/pause button as well. Yeah, rc e100 was the best for diamond & pro. I have a vnmoda headset sppecially iphone, but it compatible with hd. I mean i can recieve calls, but can not play/pause music.
Why is the RC E100 not compatible with the HD? Are there specific Drivers in the Diamond ROM? The HD also has a ExtUSB Port.... so it should work. Or may I be wrong?
Just stumbled upon this thread and darnnnn.
The ultimate (and elemental) accessoiry for the HD has got to be a remote control headset.
I decided to buy the RC E100 from a dutch website.
It clearly states that the accessoiry is tested with and proven to function with the Touch HD.
I tried connecting it and obviously the info on the site is wrong.
Utterly disappointed I would like to know where I can find a statement saying it isn't compatible.
Can anyone help me with that?
Yeah, i have managed to try the rc e100 with my HD, and it says not compatible device and remove from usb port. I don't understand either

There is audio in the extUSB jack on HD
excuse my ignorance, and i'm anticipating the tut tut noises from everyone, but would the iPhone or iPhone compatible earphones work? I have seen plenty of iPhone compatible earphones with call and music controls advertised. I assumed they would work with the HD but I'm no expert.
guidance welcome ;-)

You will be able to talk, probably pick/hang up the call, but the music controls most probably won't work.

I have V-moda headset, which basically is for IPhone 3G. It it works with HD, I mean you can reaceive calls, or start voice dial,BUT YOU CAN NOT play/pause the music unfortunately. It worked on iphone, but here on HD doesn't
So the only chance to control music on the HD (without touching the HD) is to buy A2DP earphones?
Hope HTC has but a datastream line in their 3.5mm jack!!!!
Would really be a little disappointment if it wouldnt be possible!
Btw. are there good A2DP earphones you can recommend?

You'd better prepare for a disappointment.
I haven't used A2DP on HD, but people report that it stutters with some devices at least. In addition to the problem that you need to charge the headphones separately.
I have tried my HD with Sony Ericsson Ds-980 Stereo bluetooth headset, but unfortunately, the music not clear. Sorry i can't explain it exactly, so you hear some noise or something like that and the music sound not too clear and of course eat the energy from HD during you use A2dp
What about using a BT audio dongle to control the HD and using the wired 3.5mm from the HD for the sound?
Ok, so let me get it clear...
HD has 3.5mm jack slot like for example X1 but it's impossible to use it proper way?
Biggest mistake IMO - HTC should have done headphones like SE so we can separate them from microphone and remote and plug what we like instead....
So if I would like to control playback and talks I HAVE TO use bluetooth set?
They should have just left the extUSB functionality.
I have some bluetooth headphones (GEAR4 PG118 BluPhones) and they work perfectly on the HD. A tiny bit of hiss, but sound is very good, very clear. Tried it on music player and coreplayer for movies
- Your HTC device may require a driver for this audio accessory to function correctly. If you experience any problems, then please download the driver from here, once the driver is downloaded, the file name needs to be renamed to zip.
I think HTC did not include the HTC driver for the USB as standard in the rom

BT Headset for Shift PC side & WM side at same time

This will be a neat product for the Shift...
BlueAnt Q1: Voice controlled Bluetooth headeset with multi point
http://www.blueantwireless.com/q1/index.html
Looks like it will connect to both the PC side and WM side at same time, and keep both bluetooth connections active! (a bit more unique compared to Jabra T5330M)
Meaning you can take calls from WM using BT and use Skype/Dragon on PC using BT, and switch between them (Both lines stay active and you can switch between 2 devices)
It also has integrated voice commands to carry out some basic functions plus you can store speed dials on the headset (independent of the paired device)
The Q1 product is not out yet, but keep watching their website for it!
I'm sure this will be a Shift "Must Buy"
I'm certainly going to get this for my X7500 and PC, but since it can pair up to 8 devices (and I'm not certain if BT is capable on both sides simultaneous yet, but I'm sure that it's only moments away! :~Fingers crossed~: )
I can't tell from the picture, but the charging connector looks unique not like a "micro USB" or mini-usb, so that means one more type of cable to carry, but inter-changable cable tips are more popular now.
(BTW- I have the BlueAnt V12 LCD headset with vibrate and it uses micro-USB, so I imagine company uses same connector here too...also, I never really got the speaker part of the V12 LCD to sound well, but the Vibrate LCD w/lanyard is nice to carry around as I can have a vibrate caller ID hanging around my neck/pocket and not have to whip out my X7500 just to check who's calling...will need to try this with my SHIFT to see if I can get caller ID from Shift)
Also, this could be a cool feature to someone who knows how to use it (maybe our fellow xda folks)
Updateable firmware (anything we can use here?)
No price yet, but info on their site and hi-re images
Sounds good but first things first! Mate how do you get BT working Winmo side??????

Same with the Plantronics headsets that have multi-point.....however, first we need to get it working on the winmo side......
I'm optomistic that the BT will be coming to WM side eventually...
finally, no one report back this bt devices actually works with SHIFT.
PS: shift in WM side still can not open bt.
To: johnQ , can you find any news from China and Hong Kong , that anyone have able to solve the bluetooth and sd card and mic & earphone use on the windows mobile side ? Please share with us if you manage to get some computer / handphone dealers able to hack and enable the above functions , let us know how to get it done ? Thanks and best regards - jimmunsw

newbie user of HD, accessories I ordered.

Hi,
after a long year, I finally will get my HTC HD.
accessories are on the way, too:
Sennheiser CX 95
sandisk 16 gb sdhc
Black Silicone Cover Case + Film
Handsfree Remote Control for HTC Touch
I will post my review of these things later when I get it. It would be nice if someone can comment on my selection.
I am interested, did the handsfree remote work?
I guess it will arrive this week. At least from the ebay page, the seller said it's a remote control that does volume up/down, forward/backward, answer/hang up...
Hope it works
the stock headset will do play, fwd, bck, answer and hang up, just not volume, so a simple volume control should be no problem to incorporate, therefore should work.
Does the add specifically state it is for HD and is it mini USB or 3.5mm jack?
http://ewwt.net/Photo/11527.jpg
The seller says it works with HD and there is a 3.5mm connection for ear-plugs. This is a good combination with cx 95 style, since the wire is very short.
I should have done more research on the usb remote control
obviously, it doesn't work with HD.
what the heck is wrong with HD develop team? with bother to put a ext-usb with out audio output?
The Touch HD does have audio output on the extUSB port. Maybe on different pins though than your wired remote uses?

Not it doesn't. The extusb has pins for audio but they are simple not connected!
The ebay seller I mentioned before also made wrong description. Shall I spend 5 euro to send it back so that I can get $6 refund (not the $12 I paid coz shipping cost is non-refundable)? no, I just keep it and maybe send to someone who has a diamond and give the seller a negative feedback.
You are right, I wasn't properly informed. Since I read an other thread about video-out on the Touch HD, I thought that next to the video signal, also the audio signal was transfered via the extUSB. Now I understand that all audio goes throught the 3.5mm audio jack at the top.
Isn't there any way to solder those pins on the extUSB to the internal audio connectors? This way everyone could use usb headphones and usb wired remotes.

HTC 3 5mm Stereo Headset w/ Music Controls RC E160 and touch hd

New headphones for Touch HD 2 with music control - Anyone know if these headphones will work on the Touch HD?

Alternative
The griffin smart talk headset and mic for the apple iphone looks like a reasonable alternative

Not sure if the music controls will work but the call button and mic should be ok at least.
My only concern would be the affect on the fm radio as this wont have an integrated antennae.
wen i bought my htc hd.... it came with the same headset with the media control.... i am in the uk...
re same headset
Just to clarify - are you saying you bought an HTC Touch HD which came with the HTC Touch HD 2 headset (complete with media controls) and it works ok with it?
If you could confirm this that would be great as I would like to buy this headset for my HTC Touch HD.
can anyone confirm that the headphones with the remote work with the blackstone?
thanks
I got my wife a HD2 yesterday so tried the headphones with NRG's ROM and the remote did not work other than for answering, hanging up and redialling calls.
Maybe does it work with ROMs based on HD2 oems? I think it should. Can someone confirm that?
don't bother, i got the hd2 and the stupid headset cannot even control the volume. Only possible to play, previous and next and answer call........

I thought that the ground lead acted as antenna. This because the plug is "only" 4 lead. gnd - left - right- mic.
1) i have "HTC Touch HD" and "RC E160" - work only microphone.
2) i change ROM - Gooru M4.0 - (based HTC HD2) - work only microphone.
"RC E160" (full functionality) for: "HTC Hero" (Android) and "HTC Tattoo" (Android)
may be helps people, who made ROM for WM
I've installed a WM6.5-ROM based on Touch HD2, but MusicControls won't work...
Maybe its just an Driver-Problem?!
Hi, i've found these from amazon, Jbuds J3M, do you guys think it will work on the touch HD
I can confirm that music controls of RC E160 doesn't work in touch HD...
also the quality of audio is really worse than the original of htc HD... maybe it is becuase of the crisis....

Anyone tried new Ultimate Ears 200Vi on touch pro 2?

My superfi 5Vi crapped out so Logitech sent a pair of new UE 200VI (not the metroFI, but their new line) temporarily while I'm waiting for the real replacement.
Got it this evening and tried it on my Sprint Touch pro2. Audio playback works, still partially with the remote buttons (no back/forward, just paly/pause), one click to answer a call, two clicks to call recent caller. But the mic seemed not work at all, no matter what I try, people cannot hear me. Tried it with audio recorder software in wm 6.5 too, no audio input while using this earphone.
Just wondering, if anyone has used this model on non-iphone/blackberry, does the mic work or I just got a bad one? I know that the superfi 5vi and tripleFi 10vi both work for our wm smartphones.
Thanks.
Managed to get it work half-way. So if I plug it into the jack half-way (exposing the last metal ring away from the tip), the mic and sound both work. I guess it's the wiring difference between this type of 3-button remote headset and the older smartphones jack. Anyone got the same results?
If I use a stripe of tape to wrap around the last metal ring so that it won't go all the way in while maintaing sort of snug-fit while only 2/3 gets plugged in, would it damage my 3.5mm jack?
I guess it's anyone's guess...
I use Triple.Fi 10's on my Tilt2; they're great. However, I do remember having a slight issue like you described with the plug not sitting quite right in the adapter. Switching to a different adapter fixed that right up; IIRC the one that came with the phone works flawlessly.
