I just put my hand on a HTC POLARIS. and I have a problem
Even it was problematic from the begining about finding the signal from the net ( working not in continuous mode) but now my HTC show me the message" SIM not present"
Could it be a soft problem or something else?
thankyou
I get this a bit after taking the sim out. The sim doesn't seem to naturally sit down properly. Just push it down and in a little and then restart. Works for me anyway

I just got back from Dubai this morning, and I recieved my first call from the plane. Fine, it worked.... but then...
disaster struck!
The phone has the "no signal" message when I click on the reception icon. I've tried to click the "turn phone off" button but nothing works...
I can't get into the phone settings in the start menu to change networks...
I'm trying to back-up to SD to do a hard reset, but the phone re-boots itself every 4 minutes! The device is also very slow in responding to the commands. E.G. when I place my phone code it takes 3 seconds just to type in the number... strange! I have 48 / 64 MB free in memory and a 256 MB SD card...
I can't connect to activesync because the decive is not being recognized.
I took out the sim card and am using a crappy nokia until I get this deal fixed.
I searched the forum for possible solutions and some came close, but none popped the cherry...
Have any of you experienced this specific situation? Is there anything I can do to recover my data before hard-reseting the Qtek? I made about 30 new contacts on the recent trip and was going to sync when I got home from the airport... but the 1010 keeps passing out on me!! It's like giving a date a full bottle of Crystal Champange before hitting the bedroom... Sucks!
HELP!
Have you tried a soft reset without the sim or sd card in the xda?
From My experience, I faced this situation (very slow response) once when I selected "Calib/Debug" option by mistake from the GSM menu in the bootloader. The only solution was to do select "Reset" from the same menu but more than once. Hope that will work with you.
PS: if you didn't go to the GSM menu, forget what I said ... your problem might have another cause.

It's a long shot, but this could be dirty SIM or SIM contacts.
Hi
Using a recently purchased used Xda (64mb version). Trying to amend settings for Ornage SIM (machine was supplied already unlocked) the screen froze. Have tried soft and hard resets but nothing. All I have is the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 screen which doesn't react to anything it appears. Even the battery light doesn't flash although I have fully charged it. Any offers of help out there??
Did you have the xda working with your orange sim? Have you tried unscrewing the top of the stylus and pushing it once in to the hole at bottom right of your xda, then wait one minute and press one time again? You will lose all data.
Yes, I had it working quite well with Orange. Had web browser plus using POP 3 to receive all incoming e mails. Couldn't send e mails though, hence trying to change seetings which is when it all went wrong. Tried soft reset first, followed by hard reset but still nothing other than the welcome screen
And this happens even with the sim removed? Sorry I should have asked that before. It seems to be exhibiting radio stack problems, but if you havent messed with that I dont know if its possible for it to corrupt spontaneously.
Yu, happens with SIM removed
I have a problem with my HD2. The clock won´t work if I turn it off and remove battery (for inserting SIM card). When i turn it on again phone shows wrong time and date. I tried to change ROM but it doesn`t work.
Another problem is touch screen. Sometimes it stops funcioning and the only thing that works is tap on turn off.
My guess is that it`s not a hardware problem but maybe I`m wrong. (
Do you have some advice?
My HD2 is Acting SCARY!!!
It is automatically opening screens and opening applications. It is automatically calling people in contact list. I am not sure what is going on.
I put my HD2 to charging and noticed that though I had locked the screen, screen got unlocked in front of my eyes. Then phone opened random apps. Opened browser and started opening weather.com website and then opening many weather.com cities. It kept doing this.
I turned off the phone as I was freaked out. and rebooted and the samething resumed. This time it called people in my contact history. Then opened other apps.
The same thing occurrs with both Windows 6.5 or Android (I have dual boot). Phone even when screen locked, opens the screen and start doing wierd (scarry) stuff. I had to turn it off since I do not know what it will do next.
PLEASE HELP !!
I currently have energyrom on my hd2.
Please help
I can record the same as small video and post it if that helps to debug.
No idea what caused the problems, but maybe a Hard Reset can helps.
And format your SD.
Is it near any other electrical equipment when it's charging? And is it the official charger, or a different type?
Poltergeist
When did this start ? was it after flashing a certain ROM ? or HSPL'ing ? or even installing any app either on winmo or android ? Are you connected to a Public WiFi hotspot ? Does your phone wake-up from sleep? like pressing the button and typing your password (or patter if ur androiding) and does it deeds ?
It's really weird
mine is also but only when charging not another
**Edit -this post is in the wrong forum - should be in AT&T One X (Evita). Feel free to delete **
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
My HTC One XL has had a problem with sim detection for a while. Occasionally it will not detect the SIM,but I could fix it by turning airplane mode on and off a couple of times. But it has become more persistent, and is now refusing to detect the sim. This is pretty annoying, as I have spend a lot of time and effort rooting etc.
If I pop the sim I get the SIM not inserted warning. If I then push the sim in, that warning disappears, but after a few seconds, the SIM detection error icon appears.
What I've tried:
It's not the SIM card. I also have a One X (quad core) and the sim works in that.
Tried the sim drawer from the other phone.
tape on the sim
nandroid restore
airplane mode cycling
Is there anything else I could try to bring this phone back to life? I don't want to root the One X, as I need an unrooted phone for certain banking apps that I use.
