Navi prog for old Hurricane devices - HTC Hurricane

Just for information on my issue with a navi prog and the key mapping--
I've found a program which solves all of the mentioned problems with key handling and so on: Sygic !! This will run on WM5 and supports all the keys which are double-functioned of the hurricane !! Sygic is very solid nav proggy and the basic functions are excellent !! As all TT variants no longer will be supported this is the best replacement for old devices and gives a full navi system on the Hurricane !!

WOOO HOOO yes, it fixes the keyboard issue on the XDAIIs
Also, if I have BT emabled (for my car kit) and also star TT5 with my BT GPS then exiting TT5 does not disable BT on the phone..
My congratulations to TomTom for responding to their users problems.

WM6 Roms Bluetooth Problem

Did you guys realize all WM6 versions posted here have Bluetooth Problems ?
Does any1 of you try using a bluetooth GPS with tomtom and wm6 on prophet ?
Here is the problem. On preferences of bluetooth you can add connections then link them. after that you do virtual ports on wich the connection is selected.
Now here comes the buggy part. on wm5 it worked you could choose Incoming and Outgoing ports wich is needed to control and link to a external GPS device. Since crystal, shadow ... and all these roms its not possible to define a Incoming Port thats why TOMTOM in my case does not work anymore. if i downgrade to wm5 and set a incoming port everything runs fine.
Do you know something about this Problem ?
i am currently using tomtom6 with a holux gps bluetooth receiver and i have no problems. you just have to pair your devices and then setup an outgoing com port. even if bluetooth is off, tomtom manages to activate it and connect to my gps device - tested on crystalV5
same here with holux. just pair devices, make outgoing port, setup gps in tomtom, and no problemo. no need for an incoming port.
What problems?
I have been flashing the different WM6 roms and I have no problems whatsoever in using them with my BT GPS. Do the actions by the two previous posts before me and you should not have a problem. Cheers!
It looks like it is not a bug but a feature you describe! Keep in mind that newer software is developped to make things easier...
I use Totom with the original Tomtom BT receiver and I don't have to make any setting or pairing at all. All is taken care of by Tomtom and WM without any interaction by me. Convinient!

I am having exactly the same problem as you. I have used different WM6.1 rom and the "New Incoming Port" option doesn't show up after i connect my Holux GPS receiver..
yes ihave the same problem with the shadows roms ( TE & CE & ... )
use the korand 3.1 rom thats good ( not have BT problem )
sorry of my english
I have SLIM BT GPS some problem with Google Maps - but I have overcome them by manually setting the GPS in Google Maps options. Woks cool..
From the other hand I have strange problems with sending files from other devices to my JAMin.
I am not sure but the solution is to remove JAMin from the list of paired devices on PC/NOKIA and then You can send files to JAMin. If JAMin is on the list of paired devices - sending do not work.
Best
Use or NDrive I have no problem at WM6
cannot create BT handsfree profile
I'm using Korand's WWE 3.1, WM6.1 ROM - it is excellent, thanks Korand for your work
The only issue I have is with the BT: I have linked up TomTom, and CompeLand via GPSGate fine, and everything works perfectly. However, I have not been able to completely pair my car handsfree.
It took a while to add the device, but I eventually managed it. In settings/Devices, if I press & hold on this device, I get just edit or delete, but set as Hands-free, set as Wireless Stereo are greyed out.
And in the Com ports tab, there should be an option for New Outgoing Port, but it's blank, so I can't tell WM how to connect this device.
Would any kind soul know how to resolve this (any cabs?)

possible solution to BT ports issue
Posted this on Korand 3.1 WWE (WM6.1), posting it here so that the information is not missed:
in the Output tab of GPS gate, you can add all sorts of ports, including COM ports.
Once you decide to choose the Add COM port option, you can then choose which COM port you want to add. I added COM3 and COM6. I had all sort of problems after that, the device was maxing out on processor and memory. So I removed COM3, and the device runs OK again.
I suspect - and hope - that COM6 is the one for my car handsfree, since I had it running whilst both these ports were enabled. I need to research this a bit more, but it's promising so far
(there is also a virtual activesync port which runs very well for syncing).
These COM ports do not show up in the BT COM ports tab, nor is the "new outgoing port" option available, but this seems to be the way to go
People that have BT problems and they are using any WM6.1 in my opinion they must go back to WM6 and your problem is solved.
I've tried A LOT of WM6.1 and i had problems with BT. But any WM6 rom works fine to me.
I think we should wait for a WM7 (when it comes some day ) to see if the problem is solved. At the mid -time stick with WM6 imo.

Tomtom 6 for windows mobile smartphone 5

Hello
I running now tomtom 5.2 on my WM smartphone 5 (Qtek 8500).
The problem is if I install tomtom 6 or higher I really need a touchscreen to select some things. Without touchscreen it is impossible to select for example other maps, gps settings etc..
1. Anybody know how to edit a system file of tomtom or something to make the up and down button usefull to select options and not to lower or higher audio volume ?? other usefull rebuilds to make it run on a WM 5 smartphone are handy for me.
2. Can the maps of tomtom 6 rewritten that they can run on tomtom 5 versions ?
3. Why tomtom don`t make version 6 WM smartphone compatible like tomtom v5.2 ?

SciLor's WiMoBlue v0.0.1
SciLor's WiMoBlue is a remote controlling software or Windows, Windows Mobile Touchscreen Devices and Windows Mobile Smartphone Devices (Currently keyboardo only, but there will come more). You may control your Windows Mobile Device with your Desktop PC or the other way round. You can use it for many different things, such as SMS writing, gaming etc. I personally prefer to use my old HTC Kaiser as controller for my new HTC Leo, especially for emulators like FPseCE!
I would be Happy to hear from you which device combinations work!

You will need .NET CF 3.5 (.NET CF 2.0 for Smartphone, .NET 3.5 for Windows) - Link at the Bottom
This is a remote controlling software for PDAs. Mainly for using your old phone as a wireless controller for the new phone.
Very fine on Emulators like FpseCE or Morphgear.
Usage:
1. Check if bluetooth is on (both devices), and pair both bluetooth devices.
2. Run the Server software on the device you want to control.
3. Run the Client/Controller software on the otehr device.
4. Search for your Server in the Client software and connect.
5. If there is a green screen, it should work (D-Pad and Hardware/Software keyboards) , if it is red try to soft reset both devices and try again, if it is till not working cry for help.
PS: If the SIP catches the Letter-Keys, first try to disable any T9 in the SIP. If the problem is still there, try to use another SIP (Windows Mobile only)!
Beware, Alpha status!

Ok, I have managed to get everything a little bit more stable,
also I have tried to make the best out of the weird Hardware-Keyboard on my HTC Kaiser, which only sends Keypresses. I got so far that you can press multiple "letters", but if you just take up your finger from one, I need to release all buttons, because I am not able to decide which button you left (This is really only the case for the letter-keys, D-Pad, enter etc. work fine!)

Remoters
Sorry for thiefing the thread like this, but is there an app for ppc devices to remote control "normal" phones? Like a samsung, or sony you get what i mean?
//Frapps
Truly amazing bro, its a pitty i only have one touch screen winmo device xD
I will make a smartphone version, was already planned!
If my old Typhoon works, I will be also able to test it before the release
But you will have to be patient until I am satisfied with the software, that it is read for a "stable" release!
Ps3 pads?
I am sorry if this is unrelated but isnt there a way to connect wireless PS3 or Xbox gamepads to WinMo (or WinPho). Arent they bluetooth too?
That is a good idea too. Wii controllers are bluetooth. That may be a fun project as well.
***Edit***
Looks like there is already an archive on XDA concerning this. All of the projects seem to be dead though.
forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-335973.html
Wii Controllers/PS3 use bluetooth thats all...
The Wii cannot be connected easily due to a missing driver of Windows Mobile. May be done, but I already tried it for some days without any success.
About the PS3 one I have only read(I have got any ps3 controller here -.-), so far I know you will first have to connect it with your computer(USB) and set the Bluetooth Mac of the none PS3 device. The rest seems to be standardized.
how easy would it be to make this in to a remote that's also able to control my TCPMP or another media player?
I'm not home yet but as soon as I get home I'm trying this app!!!!
I still have a MDA Vario and a HTC Touch pro at home. can't wait! have been lacking hardware buttons to play games.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you mean the TCPMP on the Mobile Phone, it may already work partially.
I may add the option to send special Keys, so you can control everthing you want

MS Word is perfect, no mistakes while typing a full letter.
Bug on Controller: No disconnection option (greyed out).
Can multiple controllers be connected? Are there any multiplayer WinMo games that can use multiple controllers?
Thank you for your reply!
The bug is a feature, just tap on the touchscreen to activate it, I disabled it due to on the Kaiser you can hit the softkey by chance while gaming.
Multiple Controllers cannot be connected but it is planned. I will implent it if I get any game to test it or if an Emulator supports to controler. Please also ask at the FpseCE Forum for adding a second controller!
SciLor
Ok, I am planning a feature that allows "pressing" on the others screen so you can completly remote control the other device. Another idea is the recieving of a screenshot of the others screen (Combined with the first idea, it makes it perfect, no?).
Also a Boss key would be funny, that means the option to turn of the screen of the other device. For those in school it means:
Put your HD2 anywhere, where the teacher isn't able to see it, but you. If the teacher comes around, you can easily put off the HD2's screen
It is already working with smartphones instead of TYTN II? I have a HTC VOX and cant wait to use it as gamepad for Leo

[Q] logitech dinovo mini - android

Hi there,
I've got a question about the bluetooth support from the streak:
I want to connect my logi. dinovo mini with an android smartphone (HD2). With the dell streak it is possible but I can't connect the keyboard to my android HD2.
I tested some bluetooth keyboard apps but nothing works :-/
I need this driver from the dell ..... for android 2.2, I think that is the only solution here.
thanx to all here and this nice forum !
Not Android Development
Moving to Q&A
It's ok but this is development !
the company Teksoft wrote me quick an answer of my e-mail.
They have developed a BlueInput driver for android phones to connect a BT keyboard but this doesent works with the dinovo mini.
here is the answer mail from teksoft:
We are currently working to fix this issue, by creating our own dedicated bluetooth stack for android.
It is related to the bluetooth stack so it lurks in deeper layers. But eventually we should be able to come with a solution.
You might want to keep an eye on the Forum or check the News section from time to time.
Best regards,
Teksoft Support
this sounds nice, hope the driver comes out soon.
Why does the dell has such a nice bt support for this keyboard?
maybe it has to do with the fact that android for the HD2 is cooked/custom made for it and not made by HTC?
I think your question needs to go to the HD2 android dev thread and request this from the people involved in that.
No, I tested the dinovo mini with an HTC Desire HD also with the same issue :-/
one solution is here:
I flashed the CleanDROID v1.11 - Super Clean Rom from g.lewarne and damnit !! I connect the dinovo mini and it works with mouse support in this rom.
that's awsome.
ive been looking into this on the captivate forum and found this about changing keymappings for dinovo on android.
they changed keymappings for several android keyboard languages and an ADB script to push it to the phone. its for QWERTY dinovo and QWERTY, AZERTY & QWERTZ android layouts
http://android.modaco.com/index.php?...68&mode=linear
they mapped
Working :
- Vol Up / Down
- "Vol off" is mapped to "HOME" key
- "Record on" is mapped to "MENU" key
- bottom-right key mapped to BACK
- "Windows" key is mapped to "HOME" key
- "Control" key is mapped to "Alt left" key
- "Alt Right" key is mapped to... "Alt right" key
- "Maj left" is mapped to "Shift left" key
- "Maj right" is mapped to "Shift right" key
- All other keys should be mapped as shown on the keyboard layout.
check in on us @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...0#post10951570
Yep, the key mapping should even work on any Android device, but you may be sure they are loaded (in adb log) once bluetooth connection is established.
I didn't reuse too much these since some streakdroid releases, but when I've made them I can remember that the mouse pointer was missing. Will have a look on 1.7.0 and perhaps try to look further in the CleanROM to see what they've made to make it appear...
Anyway, here it seems that the main problem is due to the fact that the BT connection just cannot be established. If so, the keymapping files won't be loaded anyway..
I would advice to have a look in logcat when trying to connect to the Dinovo, and check there why the HD2 hangs.
