So very soon, I will be moving, and when this happens, I will no longer have access to a computer. My TP will be my lifeblood.
1.)Are there any programs I should install on my TP that can only be installed via PC? (Windows Mobile Device Center)
2.)In case I find a program after I move that is .EXE only, is there any way at all to run those on Windows Mobile?
3.)Most ROMs can be downloaded on the phone then flashed via SD card correct? In case I take the plunge and get rid of my stock
4.)-Please- suggest some programs for me to use...I just bought a TV out cable in anticipation of the move. I plan on using skyfire to watch streaming video (Bleach/Narutoget.com ftw!!), but it can be choppy at times, so anything better than skyfire for that purpose?
You guys have NO idea how grateful I would be for your help!
Hey bud,
I have a few suggestions, the first of which is to buy a cheap computer when you move . It will save you a ton of hassle. The office applications included on the Touch Pro can be somewhat of a problem with editing, etc. The TV-out can be prone to lag. That aside here are a couple of other suggestions:
- For videos forget about skyfire. Use HTC's (or coreplayer) Youtube application to watch videos, including anime, the quality will be much better than skyfire. Or, alternatively, several people encode anime and what not to be viewed on the PSP...the format works very well on the Touch Pro. www.yes-psp.com is one such site. Try googling "anime4psp". You can also download an IRC client (eg. pocketirc) and download videos through IRC. Coreplayer plays most popular xvid encodings quite well.
- As for the activesync/rapi installed programs, I'm sure there is a way with a PC...not sure if there is an app for windows mobile
- Personally, I've tried a ton of ROMS. Each one seems to have its positives and negatives. EnergyROM has ALL the bells and whistles, however, be prepared for only a 4-5 hour battery life. DCD is great if you want a base ROM. Juicy has a ton of cutting edge stuff. Mighty ROM for speed and stability. I personally use NSFan's rom with touchflo3d turned off. It seems to have the most balance with regards to speed, stability, battery life, and includes a good smattering of "bells and whistles". Plus he some decent graphics drivers included in the ROM.
- ROMS can be installed via the storage card as long as the .nbh file is named appropriately and your storage card is formatted in the correct filesystem.
Here is my list of apps (not including what's included by default in NSFan's ROM):
- G-Alarm
- Coreplayer
- Pocket Artist
- Mobile FTP Client
- Mochasoft FTP server
- PocketIRC
- Beejive IM
- Skype
- Microsoft's Facebook App.
- System Seven (a free service that delivers push e-mail using imap-idle)
- WMtorrent (for downloading torrents)
- NSFan's Opera Browser build (available here on Xda)
- cleanRAM
- Total Commander (file explorer)
- Powerguard (battery monitor/logging)
- Sashimi (for easily restoring files when you flash a new rom)
- hTorch (flashlight program available on XDA)
- cHome Editor (on XDA)
- reStart (on XDA)
- Touch In Call screen tweak (think it's on XDA)
- Chartcross GPS Test (I use it as a GPS primer)
- QuickGPS (can be obtained from DCD's site)
- MyMotion (a program that logs your run/bikes etc with spoken feedback, and it allows you to save the logs as kmz files...which can be loaded into Google Earth. Note that this program will not function with Touchflo 3d turned on).
- Tom Tom Navigator
- Jetcet Print 5
- W0lf's Translator
- Clearvue Presentation
Hope this helps

Hi,
Perhaps it's not my place (Being a newbie )but thought this forum could do with a dedicated thread for comments regarding what software works on the Monet/Lobby and how to load it in.
What software is crap and what software is spectacular.
And where to get it and is it FREE!
I'm sure that I and others will visit frequently for the latest views & opinions.
Just for starters here are some truly FREE ringtones.
Just need to give 'A' email address. Dont bother with Email just download and use 'back-Arrow' to get them all.
Enjoy.
https://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/domore/ringtones.mspx
My 'must have' apps
1. Sprite Backup Personal Edition (Version 5.2.0) - very handy for backup and restore of your Lobby. You can create self-extracting restore 'exe' files on your micro-SD card 'just in case'.
2. Tom Tom Mobile (Version 5.200 (4450)) - brilliant Sat Nav.
3. Automatic Keylock (v3.87) by Danny Baumann. The normal Windows keylock (pressing the Red Hang Up button) doesn't work that good for me. When someone calls you, I had the nasty habit of answering the call before I could see who it was, or even cutting many people off when taking the phone out of my pocket. This app gives you a screensaver that locks the keypad down a little better.
4. RealDice Mutliplayer Championship Poker (Version 4.24). Like playing Texas Hold'em? Why not play against other people over GPRS internet connection? I love this game. Even the AI in the single player is very good. The running costs (in terms of KB playing over the WAP/GPRS) isn't, surprisingly, that much.
5. Avantgo - Sync up all the latest news for your long commute to work.
6. Resco Smartpack - contains System Toys (battery / memory status), Photo Viewer, a more powerful Explorer application and a registry editor. I know that you can get some of these for free, but this pack is trouble free and very well written.
7. TCPMP (aka BetaPlayer) - One big drawback for me is that Windows Media Player doesn't allow you to easily Fast Foward through your movies or music when you are playing them. TCPMP can do this plus it is a fab media player, and there are many other codecs available to play non-Windows files too.
8. CellDoom - If you are as old as me and remember playing Doom on your old 386 then get yourself CellDoom. Dig out your old Doom WAD files and drain your battery playing this
9. Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook (Windows Mobile Edition 2.5 (Build: 1258)) - Wish you could text as fast as the Young Guns? If you've got Outlook and a Smartphone then get this. Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook allows you to send SMS from your PC (via ActiveSync / USB connection). It will sync up all your Sent, Received and draft texts (SMS messages) on your Outlook too. Excellent for quick, long and multiple recepient messages.
10. Breaksoft Mobile Registry Editor. A PC based application that allows even easier registry access to your Smartphone.
Some of the above applications are free, others you will need to purchase. All can be found via Google
Only the "Automatic Keylock (v3.87) by Danny Baumann" requires the Lobby to be unlocked.
Excellent start to this list ringp3ace.
will def be trying some of these out.
you didn't mention whether or not Lobby needs to be unlocked first though.

While you're there why not get the free golf game too? Download the landscape phone version though as this will run full screen on a QVGA smartphone.

Thanks.
Was in too much of a hurry to get some decent tunes and didn't notice that one.
Good game.
Hey all. I've got a coworker that's extremely jealous of all the fine toys that you can load onto the ATT 8525, and the poor bastard has a Sprint Mogul.
I've been digging through the forums here (yes, I also checked the Wiki!), and it doesn't seem like there's much out there for the Titan, and especially Sprint phones.
My question is - will the 8525 cabs like HTC Home work on the Mogul? iContact? And is there a base Sprint ROM out there?
yes they will i am running them on my mogul. You can get the newest sprint rom from htc website.
I suggest you rom either dcd dcd's titan ROM 3.3.4 rom or The Round 4 Reloaded rom which is the one i am running right now is i am very happy with it
* please make sure you follow the wiki on how to flash your phone when flashing your roms if you haven't done it before
I suggest doing searches on some of the following programs:
Skyfire Web Browser
Sprint Picture Mail
HTC Audio Manager Today Plugin
TCPMP (for youtube and expanding media format capabilities)
S2U2 (iphone style lock/unlock)
PocketCM contacts list (for finger frendly scrolling)
QuickMenu (for start menu replacement)
C-apisro (serius and xm radio player)
I-nigma barcode reader (make barcodes to access websites you program to them.)
Mito Team Paint (drawing board)
mToday (to add a second today screen)
MyCalculator
MyMobiler (see your phone's today screen and control it from your desktop.)
NFL Mobile Live
Oxios memory (frees up program memory)
pm clean (performs a quick clean of temp info)
Pocket Uno
SetVolume (finger frendly volume adjustments)
fpsece (playstation emulator)
PhatFinger WeatherPanel (cool weather app)
Skunkworks FlashVideoBundle (needed for flash video playback)
LogMeIn remote access (control your home computer from your phone)
HTC Streaming media (for mobile youtube videos)
Settings+ (expand your phone settings options)
Yahoo Go
SprintTV
Bluehoo (see people info over bluetooth from phone-to-phone)
Slingbox (stream your cable tv connection over the internet to your phone.)
Hope that will give you some ideas.

hello all, this is my first time posting a rom up here on xda, i have been for a while on mobilitydigest, just thought it was time to take it on the pro circuit lawl.
this rom is very light and very fast and very stable. This rom is meant for people who want a simple rom to add onto and customize, those people who want a no frills rom, or anyone who just needs a reliable rom to use. I have tested the packages on other versions for months and have tested this version extensively over the past few days, you should find no problems whatsoever but if you do lemme know.
it starts up in less than a minute and sits idle at around 25%.

Good job Harmans....thank you
Hey Harmans,
Thanks for the ROM. I've been using it for a few days now. I do have a question or two though.
1. How do I access the settings for the mini lockscreen. Specifically, I would like to disable it in favor of the Windows Mobile lockscreen. Also, it seems to turn off my wifi whenever it activates.
2. You mention there is a game called Ganondolf included. I can't find it. But there is a game called Experiement 13 that does not run.
3. I don't see My Converter either.
Thanks for including Swype, xdaShutdown and Opera Mini. I always use those programs.
And thanks again for a great, light ROM!
John
John,
1. Windows Mobile Lockscreen is cooked within, so if you like the rom I can cook one for you without the mini lockscreen.
2. Gandolf = Experiement 13
3. I'll rebuild a ROM with My Converter in the right place.
I've been testing the same build without compression, it's a litlle bigger but also a litlle faster. I'll see if I can finish that tonight and post it.
If you have any more questions, just let me know.
Thanks for trying this ROM.
Uploaded a new ROM: RELEASE_Topaz(1806).exe
Should solve your issue's
No mini lockscreen, My Converter in place.
Also added Topaz Settings Tool
Great!
Thanks a lot! I'll give it a try when I get home. As I mentioned before, I do like your ROM. It's got pretty much everything I need and nothing that I don't.
I'll post back with results once I've had a chance to play with the new version a bit.
John
I installed the new ROM this morning and have been playing with it all day. Thanks for the changes you made. It's great now! Exactly what I was looking for.
I appreciate your work very much.
Thanks again!
John
I'm looking to migrate to Firefox OS but there is a whole bunch of apps I need which are not available yet as of my knowledge. I wondered if you could point me in the right direction, here is what I'm looking for:
1) SIP client with G.729 or OPUS support - there must be something somewhere?
2) Garmin GPS application - nothing found and probably will never see any app reading Garmin format cards but I'm already accepting the fact I need to buy some real hardware.
3) SSH and telnet client - nothing found.
4) Ping, nslookup, whois, traceroute - nothing found.
5) What's App - I heard there is a good replacement called Connect2A. Also Telefonica released something which is in Spanish only.
6) Owncloud client
7) XMPP client with SSL/TLS support - LoquiIM seems like a prominent candidate but I don't see anything about encryption support (except OTR in which I'm not interested as there is no offline messaging support).
8) Dictionary, file manager, PDF viewer - I see there are options.
9) IMAP/SMTP client with SSL/TLS - no Thunderbird?!? WTF?!?
10) Music player with FLAC support - nothing found.
11) Microsoft Office viewer - at least XLS and DOC support, PPT would be nice also.
12) AntiVirus - AVG Link Scanner is the closest I found.
13) AntiSpyware - as this is a web-oriented platform I can imagine it's not going to take much time to find a way how to poison the embedded browser.
Maybe for 3) and 4) this is the best hope?

At the moment this Firefox Marketplace looks to me more like a playground for script kiddies trying to get some revenue by poisoning you with apps that throw a bunch of adds on your screen or by stealing private data.
