I am looking for a way of re-assigning the left softkey on my home tab to open the Manila All People tab rather than having to bring my hidden slider up, scroll to People tab then click the All People softkey. I know how to reassign the softkey and edit the softkey text in the registry, I just need help with the correct path for the All People tab. Is there anyone out there clever enough to be able to furnish me with this (if indeed it is possible)
Try This

Try this with a registry editor (i.e. PHM Regedit)
Navigate to
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila
Check For & Change (Type exactly as it is)
HomeLSKPath = !"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
Edit the Label
HomeLSKText = Contacts (Text Can be anything you like - Mine says 'Contacts' but if you want you can label it as 'All People')
EDIT: Special thank to Tboy2000 for including this in his thread even I never noticed and a special thank to morpheus1982 for pointing .
First prize to that man!

Great idea! Works perfect
thanks, always good info!!
modification requested!
Hi,
I assigned soft-key to All People, thank you.
But I only ever use it to search for a specific contact by pressing Search icon in upper right corner (not by scrolling through the alphabet on the right).
So is it possible to save one extra press and assign to the soft-key the address to open the search field with cursor in it?
Hope I described the requirement clearly enough
The alternative option is to use phone interface and type the name on the numeric keys - but it is noisy.
Thanks in advance for any info.
G.
I don't really understand this, is it in the "String" I shall write this down?
Edit: I got it working
ohhh how would i make an actual shortcut to my all people tab so i can have it as a quick link?

Just choose it as a quicklink?
I cant choose it on the links because there is no shortcut to it, but I sorted it now. I just made a txt file, put the 99#"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page in the file, changed it from a .txt to a .lnk and dropped iot in my starmenu
Works a treat!

Of course it is nice to help someone, but are you not taking the credit for something that was writting in the Leo Tips and Hints Sticky thread written by Tboy2000?

Mate,
I am not taking credit for anything ... I just helped him to get what he needed as I was also using this for a long time.. May be Tboy2000 has published this in his thread which is good for everybody... and this is one of the things I do right after a flash .. If you ever use Energy ROMs you will see that NRGZ always assigns left soft key to the "Action Screen" which I change to contacts ..
Anyway if it's in Tboy2000's thread, credit to him for publishing this and once again I expect no credit for this .. was just trying to help a guy without telling him to "Search the damn forum first" with the information I already had in my hand ..
Thank you very much mate ... and really appreciate the concern ..
EDIT: I updated the first reply
Thanks
I am looking forward to this a lot. So many thanks....

You just need to find the exe file for lock and follow the same instructions using that path. Cna you not just press your end key to switch screen off - this also locks the device on my phone?

Thanks, however it does NOT work for me, I did exactly as described.
Hi,
First, again, sorry for posting it here. Still don't have permission to post on development forums (need 10 posts to do that).
I was looking for an English Keyboard Layout for CM but I couldn't find one on the thread. So, I downloaded the German (the one without specific german letters mapped to blue/sym keys) and started hacking on it a little..
Well, I could swap Y and Z keys, but then I had to press blue+Z to enter number 3. I tried changing another things too without any success.
Is there anyone who can help me accomplish this things:
- Important things:
1- Fully swap Y and Z letters, letting me enter number 3 pressing Z.
2- My comma ',' key prints an apostrophe. I wanted to make it print comma.
- Not so important:
3- Make blue+C who actually has an apostrophe on it prints an apostrophe (that's not so important because I'm brazilian. We don't use apostrophes to much in here =P. And it's my girlfriend's phone, she is 99% of the time typing portuguese =P)
What can help, maybe, someone who provides a layout there, can point me where to find the original keychars.kcm. The update.zip comes with this file in a binary format, making it difficult to change =/
I have the same problem with keyboard, but I can use with this problem.

Ah, and nice Corinthians-Tux btw ;D
I'm happy with my S3 but I come from a Galaxy Note. In S3 there's no option to add new words to Predictive text dictionary.
Are you having the same problem? Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks in advanced.

I'm used to typing with old phones keyboard and thanks to you I've realised that if I want to add a new word I have to use the qwerty keyboard.
Do you know how to delete words added to the dictionary. I could do it in Galaxy Note.
Sorry for all the incoveniences

Hi all! Congrats to those who got their shiny new S3s.
I would like to check if anyone is experiencing the same bug as me within predictive text:
Save a new word to the auto-substitution and/or my word list and then restart your phone.
Do your custom words disappear? Mine are not preserved after the restart.
Do test it and let me know!

Please test this with your S3s people! I'll be putting in an official complaint to samsung tomorrow! Need more to confirm the presence of the bug

Just updated my gf's S2 to ICS 4.0.3 & when using the 3x4 keyboard, in the predictive txt area there is the option to add your own word, why would this be removed for the S3? Makes no sense??
Yeah same problem with mine, I spent and age adding words the first day then next day they all gone and wasn't auto learning new ones, but yesterday it started learning again and for me this is the most serious bug I ever saw on a phone.
---------- Post added at 03:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ----------
Is there any system file to Backup/Modify/Restore because I can't afford to keep losing all my words.
Has this problem been solved in the new update?

need to change to qwerty to add words to my words list...
a restart will reset the my words list..
in smiley list under the qwerty kb there is no BIG SMILE

is there a way to add the words to my words list frm the pc...its sucks to add 100's of words manualy
I was never a big fan of stock keyboard...
I find it a bit gimmicky especially the predictive text
I suggest you try a third party keyboard instead... SwiftKey a much better in option in my opinion.
I've been trying to find out myself if there's any other way to add words by finding the file in the Root folder that saves my words list so I can save and replace it every time I reboot, but no one seems to know how.
Hi I have the same problem as soon as I restart my phone or switch it off all the words in the list will be deleted, my old firmware was I9300XXALE9, & after visiting the Samsung workshop to fix this issue they've installed this firmware I9300XXALEF but the same problem remain the same, please advice how to solve this issue.
BRs,
Ahmad T.
I've been digging through the Root files to try to find where it saves "My word list" and all I've found is the file:
Root/data/user/0->/data/data/com.android.providers.userdictionary.
But even with words in my word list that folder is empty, so come on there must be someone out there clever enough to find the folder the words are saved in.
Good afternoon everyone.
I've recently installed on my Xperia Mini Pro the new Cyanogenmod 9.1.
It's more than brilliant but lacks of a very important feature... I'm not able to use the onscreen t9 and the hardware keyboard has not spellcheck or autocomplete feature.
for the first problem, i've solved with a zip flashable file containing xperia S keyboard and i managed to have t9 keyboard in vertical and qwerty keyboard in landscape, with a perfectly working autocomplete and spellcheck...
But when i use hardware keyboard I hate I cannot have the spellcheck or autocorrect, because italian is very reach in stresses and it's disappointing using a long press key every time i have to strees a vowel... with the stock rom i just typed the word and it got corrected automatically.
Also, the sym key shows me just symbols and would be great to have all the smiles back like in the original firmware.
I've found a system folder from 4.0.4 original firmware of Xperia mini pro [SK17i_system_folder_4.1.B.0.431.rar if u wanna google it] so I would be able to post here all the keyboard files that could add the original t9, autocomplete and spellcheck both of on-screen keyboard (so we don't have to use the Xperia S files) and expecially for hardware keyboard...
Can anybody help me?
I want to stay with Cyanogenmod 9, but if I dont find a solution i will be forced to go back to 2.3.4 to have the original keyboard back
Thank you so much for help!
Hello there, I had the same problem as you but luckily I found a solution to that problem.
I can't attach the .zip cause it's too large, but here is the link to the thread containing the keyboard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725050
Look for "Xperia S ICS keyboard", download it, flash it via CWM, select in settings, voila you have a T9 keyboard that should satisfy if not all, some of the things you were looking for.
It works on my SK17i CM9.1 100%
Press thanks if this helped you.

i had already tried this file but it's not what i'm looking for because does not allow me to use autocomplete on the physical keyboard.
it would be the best if somebody could do that kind of file with original Mini pro keyboard (onscreen and physical)... it would make CM9 the perfect rom...
Thanks, i like the Keyboard a lot! Works almost 100%

Hello to everyone in this forum.
I have the same issues. I'm Italian too.
The same here in germany. Swiftkey has a nice replacement feature, but it misses swipe in vertical mode. It would be nice to be able to change keyboard depending of HW-Keyboard status. If Keyboard is out, use Swiftkey, if its in, use Xperia-Keyboard. maybe this could be solved with Tasker, but I didn't test right now.
edit: I tested with tasker and needed an external plug in, - It worked! but this solution doesn't make me happy as Swiftkey cannot handle the extra keys like ? and ' right.
+1
does anyone have a proper fix for the hardware keyboard on the Xperia Mini Pro, Including the symbol and globe keys?
thanks
Maybe we need a porting from the original stock rom. Is there any way to extract the files from the original rom? I also tried to backup the original keyboard with Titanium but I fail
Same issue here.
I am italian, too.
For a language as ours, it's very important having predictive text in hard keyboard.
Is there any workaround?
Please reply!
I've tried some keyboard's apps but no one satisfied 100%
Thanks.
Any news?
Any workaround? What keyboard do you use at the moment? :cyclops:
I use Swiftkey, but I'm not satisfied 100% yet.

this keyboard doesnt work properly on cm9.1 (wt19i)
only nice for the skin but when i use it for tying it adds extra letter on the last typed word is you press space
for example if i would type in google "what is the time in brussels" it becomes "whatt timee iss itt inn brusselss"
anything new?
I currently try SwiftKey Flow beta? With swipe. IT seems to. Have. IT all

yes... it's a real pity that there is still NO solution for that problem
THIS is a simple but the ONLY reason because I can't handle with cyanogen.... i'm a great fan of this project but i really miss the keyboard (which is a must for a mobile like mini pro)... so I'm still so sad that nobody was able to fix this problem ALL the mini pro user have
I think i'm on the right way to use the keyboard but i still need some help from experienced developers.
I've managed to install the keyboard but still it crashes.
I dumped all the system folder from the lastest Mini Pro firmware (4.0.4 built 567 if I remember well) in a zip and installed from recovery all the files related to some keywords (used the search function of a mac).
I've used
- key
- keyboard
- input
- text
- emoticon
- emoji
- qwerty
- font
- slide
and something like that (I can't remember all the keywords but i think they are all)
Anyway as i wrote before when i turn on the keyboard it keeps crashing without even starting (i can never see the keyboard on screen and with the slide keyboard).
I think it's great i managed to install but i have not the right experience to know what files are missing or are disturbing the keyboard...
Does anybody have a clue? (unfortunatly i cannot post this post in the developer rooms)
I will attach soon the zip file i'm testing on Cyanogen mod 9.1.
(I've added TrackId to see if the installation process was ok, just while developing this zip file)
Tell me what, according to you, would be good to add for the keyboard
Have you set all permission properly? Because if not it can't work. And you would have to take the textinput-tng.apk (not sure how it's named) from /system/app
But I don't know if this will ever work, I hope so :good:

Hello, im asking a question for someone else who is a lawstudent.
She has a S3 and is wondering if there are any downloadable keyboards who has the paragraph sign (§). Apparently the stock one doesnt seem to have one.
If someone can check their keyboards please let me know.
SwiftKey doesn't have it, if it helps
i think the paragraph sign is this one: ¶ .
anyways i don't have both "§" and "¶" at smartkeyboard pro.
your solution should be A.I.type Keyboard which suppports those signs:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aitype.android
Hackers keyboard has this ¶
if you can settle on ¶ alone @slaphead20 gave you a perfectly correct answer and go keyboard also has this so you can have other options
if not the only one i noticed is A.I as i mentioned
Ok.. Many thanks fellas..
