Hi,
If WiFi is enabled does it prevent the 3G/2G from working & vice-versa ???
Or is my phone signal just too weak
Thanks
Phil
if you are connected a wifi network, then 2g/3g data is turned off
I see....so will some apps only work with 2G/3G or will they all use WiFi easily?
Reason I ask is I was trying to use G-Backup and it just froze, so I thought perhaps it could only upload on 2G/3G and not WiFi ? Or am I being silly
Thanks
Phil
All apps *should* use wifi easily. At the end of the day, its just an alternate data connection (the phone automatically routes data to the wifi or 3g/2g depending on what is available anyhow)

Situation:
I have recently flashed the modaco r5 for hero 2.1. I noticed that my GPS was not working, but it has always been a bit iffy. Doing some research I read that I needed the Mobile Network (use phone for data connection when WIfi is unavailable) checked. Without turning on wifi, my GPS worked excellently, fixed to 8 satellites in a second.
Problem:
I turned on my wifi, but b/c of the Mobile Network option, I think it switches to Wifi as its primary data source and neglects the GPS. So the GPS does not work until I turned off the wifi.
Question:
I know people usually don't use GPS and Wifi together, but is there a way to get them both working together?
Thanks everyone and much appreciated!
When i enable wifi hotspot or wifi tether it shuts down wifi. some apps do not communicate with same network even though it can ping each other.
Obviously, WiFi tether/hotspot needs the same WiFi transceiver that is used for WiFi reception, so they can't work continuously. You won't find any phone that doesn't have it the same way, because it doesn't make any practical sense to have both WiFi and WiFi hotspot on at the same time.
When you hotshot you can only share your mobile internet over wifi as the wifi of the phone cannot simultaneously receive and share Internet. You can only receive mobile internet and share wifi, hope that clears things up a little
Like it was said earlier, you can only choose to connect to the Internet or share it, not both at the same time.
hi guys,
im looking for a little help if you dont mind. my z ultra is having issues when i dont have a wifi connection. while i have a wifi connection all is good but when i lose the wifi i am unable to access the net and browse unless i manually go into my setting and turn wifi of so the phones network ( three ) takes over and again then all is good.
do i have a setting wrong on the phone as surely when the phone loses a wifi connection the network ( in my case three ) should automatically take over and i should not have to manually turn the wifi off for the network to kick in.
any help would be great please.

Its Not Possible,Only One Network Traffic Can Run at a Time..you can't Run WiFi & Data @ the Same Time.. Even If You Turned On Both,WiFi Is the 1st Priority, if Its Turned Off Because of Low Signal ,Data Will be Turned On Automatically, After Wi-Fi Got Strength, WiFi will be Turned On Automatically again by Switching Off Data..
Can anyone assist me with the steps in settings to disable the option of if the wifi is less than ideal, it switches to cell data? How does one make it stay on wifi even though the wifi isn't the best?
Thanks in advance
