As the title says I've assigned photos to some of my contacts. I know the quality of the pics are fine as I use the exact same pics for my TD2. However when I make or receive a call from the contact, the picture displayed is very blurry, not clear at all.
I know that with the TD2 & all the previous WM phone I had I had to assign the picture to the contact using a different app (e.g. S2U2, etc) than the HTC in built one. Is that the case with the Hero? If so which app should I use?
Thanks
Facebook sourced contact photos appear not too bad, but as you say, any pic used from the camera or other image source appear very pixelated.

It is the same issue

my contact pictures are currently syncing through facebook. when someone calls, the picture is relatively small compared to the open area surrounding this.
is there any way to make this bigger?
i was hoping the same as well, the picture is tiny as compared to amount of real estate being unused
I have had this issue on all the android phones I have had. There is an app that will take care of that. I think you might have to pay for it
check out an app called SyncMyPix and choose high res photos in the options. It syncs photos from facebook but you get the option of using the whole photo as opposed to a resized version.
Cheers
syncing now. thanks!
did this work for anyone? the pics are still tiny for me
What happened for me is high res pics. All facebook contacts now on phone which I didn't want. And the pics are the same size.
i guess there is still no way to get a bigger caller ID huh
yea lame
i am running 2.3.3 pre-rooted gb rom. i have noticed that some of my contacts show incoming and outgoing call picture while others dont show at all. i tried all means but still it doesnt show when i dial. but when i open the contact for editing the contact pic i assigned is there. Any idea what is happening??? also the quality is still bad, i miss the quality of pic in 1.6 version.
its very bad
no matter where the pic source comes from
from facebook
from twitter
from google sync
from own gallery
Hi, guys!
I realize that adding photos at contacts was better at the old SE Android contact app.
Adding photos with "mediascape" at the old contact app was better... the "mediascape" always cropped the photo on a wide aspect, fitting OK on the contact page.
Now, it's always a square aspect that don't fit right on the contact page. Something wierd! And when you get an incoming call, the photo resolution is ****ty and zoomed. Too bad!
The contact photo not showing on outcoming and incoming calls, but when you open the contact it has a photo is due to the facebook integration. In EDIT mode, when you have a contact with a picture at the FB profile and no photo on contact app, if you press the picture and choose "set as contact picture", this will happen.
its very lousy of sony to release a failed update
Sorry if this topic seems rather mundane, but there is something about my contacts list on my GS2 that confuses me. Since the ICS update my contacts list looks great and I am happy with the overall design. I like the picture at the top 1/3 which shows the contact's image. On most conatcs this picture is stationary, as you might expect, however on a few instances, the picture is able to slide to the left to reveal the contact's GOOGLE+ pics and latest postings. This is great!! But not available on all my contacts and some DO have GOOGLE+ accounts, but they are not accessable from the slide left feature. Is there a setting that activates this feature? Is there a permission I need before it becomes functional?
If anyone has any guidence it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Under ICS the incoming caller's contact photo is obstructed by the answer-options in the bottom half of the screen, so that the picture is virtually impossible to see below the upper one third or so of the image.
Is there any way to easily change this so that the contact photo is completely separate and unobstructed? Either the way it was under Gingerbread, or some other better way?
I've seen and tried plenty of incoming/callerID apps on the market, but they all require one to re-specify new, larger full screen/HD contact images to associate with callers. I don't want to do this for hundreds of existing contacts, and I don't want to have to sync with some external social network to get new photos. I still want to use the original (square shaped) contact photos I already have in the default/stock/system contact database, and have them fully visible and unobstructed on the incoming call screen.
Is there any app or hack that will enable this? Thanks...
Anyone know where the watch picks up contact photos from? I use HaxSync on my phone and the images are hi-res, but when I get a message on my phone it shows up really blurry.

I noticed the same thing. The photos look terrible (blurry).
I'm assuming image is from cloud. My images are blurry on my watch as well

I've found that it uses the small picture from the notification on the phone...hence the very low res. Also, the issue with hangouts where the notification doesn't show any picture seems to also happen on the watch. I'd rather have no picture than the blurry one.
Hoping this can be fixed in a future update
