i cant access my sim contacts at all.
i have tried htc sim manager, dopod sim manager, and easy sms and sim thing,
i keep getting errors like mobile error or invalid sim.
i have tried advanced config and no difference
but when i start typing a number or typing a name in the phone it show the contacts on my sim??
i'm running Chrbeck wm6.5 21812

the setting, phone --> show sim contact (no)
have the same result. the name and number is not in contact manager, but when i type the number it shows.
try it.

Well for me it works only sometimes in my phones. But not only in my Charmer in every WM phone I have. Sometimes it displays the SIMContacs in Contacs and sometimes not. I don't know why but it seems to be a problem of WM6.5 with HTC Radios.

I've recently lost my HTC windows mobile phone, and along with it I've also lost all my phone contacts.
I have a backup of my contact in my PC as a DSB file, I know that i could use the dopod sim manager.cab file to restore my contacts, but the point is I don't have a windows phone to restore it.
Any help on restoring the contact in Windows - 7 Environment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We've sent and received SMS with the new ROM. Could you describe the problem in more detail? Do the SMS messages just seem to go into a black hole both ways, or does some kind of error happen?
i fixed it already, i just didn't get the messages, and ppl told me they've sent me. but i installed afterwards the sms_fix.cab, and suddenly it works again.

sim card holds sms messages

I have a same problem. When people send me a sms, I cant get it from my xda. But if I remove my sim card and use it another regular phone, I see there are lot of sms messages.
What is sms_fix.cab?
If this cab is for show names from sms messages, I have already installed it.
I use XDA-Developers.com special edition rom v 1.1. My boss had got a old bios. I try to upgrade his bios, but he has got still same problem.
My problem have started after new bios. Both of us can send SMS.
ROM Version: 3.17.03 ENG
Radio Version: 4.01
I dont want to hard reset it, because I just finished to install of hundreds of tools also I dont know it will work or not!
What can I do?

My rom version is 3.16.32 ENG, Radio version 4.20.00
I have the phone unlocked with the xda manipulator (now using vodapone) and had received a sms message successfully from a colleague but I just can't send a sms. I clicked on the contact and tap "Send SMS" but it just don't do anything and when I tap on "Send SMS" under the tools menu in the phone , it also don't do anything. I read that someone said caller2picture prevents someone from sending sms. Is this true? Can anything be done to make it work even with that software installed?
Would appreciate any help or advice.

For the benefit of forumers- a cold boot restored full functionality of my sms service. Must have accidentally deleted some important files.

I have just upgraded my Qtek1010 to 3.16 from 3.14, and now when I go to reply to a SMS message, the name and number of the contact concerned are displayed in the "To:" field like so:
To:"NAME" <NUMBER>.
When I go to send the SMS, the phone reports an error message stating that "No matching entry was found for "NAME" <NUMBER>. Would you like to continue?"
I can manually delete the name and <> and then it sends (with only the number remaining.
On version 3.14, I had used SMS Name utlity and could reply just fine... Only the number was displayed when I chose 'reply'.
Please help...

This is a known issue with that ROM. If you often use the device to send/receive SMS, may I suggest upgrading to 4.00.11 ? It is really much nicer when it comes to SMS.

Being a bit of a lay person when it comes to the ROM side of things... the latest ROM version offered by my phone supplier here in New Zealand is 3.16. If I download and install a 4.00.11 ROM and install, am I likely to have compatability problems with my GSM provider here?

depends on where u at, and whether you know how to setup your phone for gprs. if you do, then go for no autoconfig, saves space.
The autoconfig settings only apply for ROMs based on 3.17.03, not for 4.x ROMs.
All downloaded and installed with no problems.

I have a HTC TOUCH DUAL in polish Orange network.
I have a problem with doubled contacts in Contact Manager , bacause I have contacts on SIM and in Phone Memory. I want to see only contacts from Phone Memory so I found somewhere information that I have to change some entry in registry.

and I have used PHM RegEdit on my device to change it - and it works fine but, after system restart or soft reset , everything is backing up to previously version so if I want to view contacts from phone memory I have to change entry in registry after every restart of the device.
Maybe someone now how to solve this problem ?
Second case is that I cannot find when to change HTC Home options.
I want to set an automatic update of weather and I don't know where can I do that ?
Third thing is that I want to use internet network from my PC which is under Vista control in my HTC TOUCH DUAL. I have installed new software which is like ActiveSync but for Vista and I cannot use Internet in my device thru my PC.
Any suggestions ?

Hi guy. Can anyone help me with lost of connection wizard? When I first buy the device evrytime I insert different sim card from the previous sim card, the device will automatically prompt me on the automatic connection wizard. Replace card that wont send SMS with another one (same number, but new SIM card). You can ask your operater to do that. Maybe they will charge you with some small ammount of money. That solved my problem.

Same problem. All options are checked up with the operator, changed SIM cards, but the problem remains.

I change 2 SIMs, 5 ROMs/radio, and every time check all settings (service center number included), but....
every time "not possible sending SMS"
