this post i gave links to info on changing your HA (home agent, which is basically Sprints DNS) to one that is physically closer to you. it helps as well but i found myself being stuck in 1X-data occasionally but Im not sure if changing the PrimaryHA (other than stock 255.255.255.255) is what caused this or not.

What do you have for these registry values?
Sorry for the long wait. Didn't think I'd hear back from ya.
Have you tried a different Radio and/or ROM?
What part of the country are you in? (Prob not in a major city, I imagine)
What do you have
Probably pretty similar but these always get me the best & most consistent results:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip\Parms]
"TcpWindowSize"=dword:00256960
"TCP1323Opts"=dword:00000001
"TimerWheelSize"=dword:00000005
"TcpMaxDataRetransmissions"=dword:0000000a
"TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions"=dword:0000000a
"IGMPLevel"=dword:00000000
"TcpMaxDupAcks"=dword:00000002
And those are the HEX values
I live in corpus christi texas. No I havent tried a new radio or rom I kinda want 2 stick to the stock 1 (im a newb at flashing) unless it is neccesary. How do i enter those values in phm do i connect my phone usb and run it? Install it on my phone? Which version do I download? thnx
bumppppppppppp
K, Try this on for size. Now that you have evidently downloaded the RegEdit program on to your phone, or the ROM that you are using already has it preinstalled. Go Into the Regedit and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+Software
+Microsoft
+Windows
+Current Version
+Internet Settings
In here you should see an entry called MaxConnectionsPerServer. Make sure there is a decimal entry of 10, if not, change it to 10
Now create a new DWORD entry called MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and give it a decimal entry of 10.
exit out of the regedit program and soft reset your phone. You should be moving along faster now.
EDIT:
Sorry, I just reread and realized you are on stock and you also don't know what to add for a program. Just download the app I attached to this post, and download it on your desktop. Unzip it and place the folder on your desktop. Connect your phone to the computer with USB, and connect to the computer. Once the sync is done, go to the registry editor folder on your desktop, and double click on registry editor. In the left panel is where you navigate, on on the right panel is where you make your changes. to add a new DWORD string, all you need to do is click once on the left panel on internet settings, and then when all the DWORD strings appear in the right panel, go ahead and find the first one make the change, then right click in the right panel, click on New, then DWORD. In the first line is where you put, MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and the second line is where you put 10.
now just exit out of the program, and soft reset your phone.
The regedit on the phone is fine, but I personally feel that it is soooo much easier to make the registry edits from the desktop.(I avoid the stylus as much as possible.)

I like RescoExplorer + Registry addin. Here are the trial cabs.
BTW, did you try unchecking header compression in your data connection settings? It works great on Sprint and was a big jump for me w/out even playing w/ the registry!
-StartMenu-Settings-Connections-Connections-
-Manage Existing Connections-
-Tap Next till you see the advanced button-

Hi all, just a few quickish questions that i have, hope someone can help me out ok, in no particular order ....
If i use a registry editor and make a hash of it, will a hard reset restore the registry or will i have to do a back-up / restore before messing ??
Is there a ' list ' of tweaks and what they do, for the xda2 ?
I'm getting myself a 1Gig sd card, how would i change the default installation folder to that of one on the card ?
I have lots more, but will go easy on you plus trying to take to much on board will fry what grey matter i have left.
TIA for all the help, and keep up the good work
EDIT: I knew there was a biggie, I used to have an mpx200, that had an option of auto connecting to the net to check for new emails at a pre configured time period, ie, every 15 minutes, is there a way of doing this on the xda2 and if so how would i set it up, thanks again
yes hardreset will bring back the device to the default settings
including the registry
and when you install programs using activesync you can choose to install them on the sdcard

Thanks Rudegar, time to start playing in ernest  any ideas on the email query ???
ok missed the mail part
when you have setup your pop3 mail thing y
you get to the 4/4 page which is called server information
right over finished there is a button called options
in that you have a checkbox called
Connect and check for messages every
and an edit field which is default 15mins on my device
and a dropdownbox called connections which indicate which connection the mail is using
Thanks for that, again, appreciate the time and effort, drinks on me if we ever meet
Guys,
Here's how you view the .exe file
Go File Explorer, make sure you check the "Show All Files", then go to Windows folder, the file name is "WLANSettings.exe
The attributes for this file is "Read-only", "Hidden", "System" & "ROM"
Any of you willing to test if it works, as i do not know how to enable this function on my device
sounds interesting. On a plain winmobile 6 this file doesn't exists, seems that HTC placed it for some reason...
Exctaly today I found (casually) the same settings on my device!!!
I think...these are the settings swith off of WI-FI!
Anybody knows how to turn ON?
If I click on TURN ON...it does not works... maybe it's necessary to change some valors in Windows..
later
on the touch with wifi there is also an WLANSettings.exe040X.mui file......you may need this also.

So, any advice on this Wifi enabling settings ?
I found two icon files as well, one is "WiFi_datacall', the other is "WIFI_on" !!
...you are near!
...the setting to change are in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\WiFi...
let us know...!
Tell me what to change and I'll try it
Yes, please keep us updated bro!!
Very good work!
I found these!
Hi everyone, this is what i found in windows folder.
(see screenshot002)(hold your cursor over the pictures to see which screenshot number!)
when i click on WLANSettings, I see the option to turn on. (see screen003)
on "menu", there is "Comm manager"(see screen008) & "wifi"(see screen004)
also in wondows folder, there is a htm page for wifi.(see screen007)
I havent really tried to "fool" around with it yet...may try so very soon..!
Oh yes, & one more thing...there is also an exe.file "wrlsmgr"...which shows a different looking comm manager than the original one.I wonder why?(see screen009)
The WLAN doesn't come ON..I hv also tried puting PNGs to indicate..I think something very small we are missing
Keep up the good job

Here my 2 ct:
I think, the phones with the qualcomm chipset in fact are able to do GPS and wifi; HTC just disables them to save licensing cost, because, if they enable wifi, the cost will rise for the phone.
Sounds like making sense, huh?
Anyway, i ordered mine yesterday and am dying for wifi...
So, i hope the best for all of us....
we
i don't have HTC touch or touch dual, yet.
suggestion:
have someone tried to extract the COMM Manager program from HTC touch and create a .CAB file for it, if need. then take it and install to HTC touch dual device.
once you have it install, do the normal WIFI configuration such as network card and etc... and test the wifi connection.
if it is not working, then most likely the touch dual does not has the wifi hardware addon it.
can someone perform this wifi experiment.
open it and post some hi-res picture. If you do it slowly and gently the warranty will be safe because they will not realize that you have opened
With pictures will be possible without any dubt understand if wifi is in or not
So, has anyone managed to set up the Wifi ?
Hey,
I am a newbie. So I have a little bit of problems on my AT&T Fuze. My uncle is a tester and I got it before it was released in the market. Now, I updated it to the ROMeOS2 v1.40 and the keyboard is messed up. It changed to the original HTC TOUCH PRO and the ATT Fuze keyboard is different. Can you help me out please.
One more question, which ROM is the best for my AT&T Fuze.
Thx,
Prateek

Unfortunately I don't know exactly but you probably need to exchange the keymap dll files with the files that come with the Fuze.

Na, theres a reg setting which determines the layout. Goto HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change CWSLayout to 0 for Touch pro, or 1 for Fuzes.
Create the key if it is not there.

Well here it is and it is probably because it is a testing phone and i know there is no way to increase but i hope there was because i have to soft reset a lot to get the apps running.
But in the Device Information part it says, 160 MB RAM size
OMG, just to confirm, did u use ROMeOS² ENGLISH version?
For all HTC Raphael base device,
-U will get total Memory of 213.28MB (in about applet)
-In memory applet, Storage total is 362.02MB & Program total 213.03MB.
But I really dont know FUZE total RAM. I need a little search but mods should move this thread since it is related to my custom ROM & no need seperate thread IMHO
so..just wondering, did you manage to get Fuze's keyboard to work with Romeo perfectly? What about the extra keys and missing keys on Fuze? (i.e. OK button and missing Ctrl button - does the OK button still work like it did on AT&T stock rom?)

Yeah, the whole keyboard works perfectly as the original keybaord from AT&T Fuze.
And ya, I used the ROMeOS2 ENGLISH Version and no, it did not change the memory applet or the about applet. I have done like 10 hard resets changing ROM's and it still shows the same thing. It is probably because I got it as a testing device, not the real one. It even says "Smart Mobility, Test Only, Not for Sale" when it turns on. I want to increase the memory. is there any way possible except from the fact that I should buy a new one.

I'd probably ebay it for a lower price specifying that it's a test unit. At least it'll salvage $100+ towards Fuze.
I found this fix for FUZE remap in the wiki section. Does anyone know what the difference is between the reg edit and this .cab is? Was reg edit only available for romeos2 cuz it's already built in the rom? Or should I use the .cab file after flashing?
Sorry for asking the same question so many times. I'm very new at this and want to make sure I know what i'm doing before I actually do it. Thanks in advance for clarification.

[Resources]Working AT&T CV Videos, Mobitv, Media Net and Media Mall on custom roms
I could not find a thread with a working solution. After hours of testing and reading I have a working solution for AT&T CV Videos, Mobitv, Media Net and Media Mall on custom roms. I have not tested on none AT&T phones but it should still work.
1 Install custom rom
2 Install opera.ini to \windows\opera9 or \Application Data\opera9
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=6d3a1e8e1f30ec60d2db6fb9a8902bda
3 Go to start\settings\systems\about\device id. Change device name to HTC_P4600
4 Soft reset
Go to cingularvideo.cingular.com and try watching a video. Media Net and Media Mall works as well for downloading games, ringtones and more. If you use mobitv then go to http://www.mobitv.com/supporteddevices/unitedstates_mobile_at&t_mobitv.php# and put in your mobile phone # to get new version.
Note: Some roms do not work. Htc streaming media will fail to play video (File re-entry error). Patch is posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3236379&postcount=1584 Thank you NotATreoFan for fixing the cab.
You mentioned on Rup's thread that you got CV to play using his 4.3 rom- is that correct. I have stayed with his v3.3 rom because I have almost no issues with it. The only one being that I have never been able to get CV to work again.

I don't know if this helps but I went to the internet proxy settings and put in the following:
wireless.cingular.com
saved setting and Media Net worked...but 1 problem came up:
I lost between 500-600 kbits in speed. I was getting 1800-2000 kbits on my Fuze before and then after I was only getting 1300 to 1400. My guess is that going through the proxy slowed me down.

It's really been bugging me that my Fuze, "the most powerful Windows Mobile phone yet", hasn't been able to do something I could do on my 8125 and Tilt!

Opera settings to enable CV
I just ran across an interesting piece of info- This might be of benifit. This is from this page. http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/howto/how_to_make_your_fuze_bloatfre.html
Here's how to get Cingular Video working in Opera again:
In Opera, enter "opera:config" as the URL.
Scroll down, expand Proxy, and for the HTTP and HTTPS Servers, enter "wireless.cingular.com:80" and check Use HTTP and HTTPS.
Scroll down to User Prefs, and for Customer User-Agent, enter: "HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)"
That seems to do it. For PIE, I think the CAB in the Windows folder called "restoreHiddenProxy4CWS.cab" is supposed to fix it. For me, it makes device.home work (whoopty do!) but the cingular video pages come up as XML code.
Update- I tried changing these settings by themselves to no avail. What is posted on the first page ot this thread works. Sorry didn't mean to add confusion.
Thank you so much for this thread, this has been an issue that I have been working on for a while.

Link this thread to RRE's
Very good work body. I see that some people here mentioned they are using RRE's ROMs. Since RRE's is a FUZE ROM and the majority are AT&T costumers. Maybe it should be a good idea to ask "arupp" to have a link on his first post to this one, I asure you it will help a lot and save people a lot of time.
PD: not only for RRE's but all others creating FUZE ROMs.
Control Graphics off
I installed the .cab fix for CV that you have in your third post and it made it work... but the only problem I have is that the controls graphics of the player are messed up. I attached a screenshot.
Step 3 isn't needed. That's just what the default Fuze is set at. You can change it to whatever you want. The important stuff is the proxy settings and the user agent. That's the only thing AT&T's servers can read, and thus the only settings needed.
As a demonstration, if you have firefox, you can set the proxy to wireless.cingular.com and the user agent to HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) and browse MediaNet and watch CV.
The file in post 3 is for roms that get file re-entry error while trying to play cv videos with htc streaming media. If you do not get a error do not use cab from post 3. The menu is weird after cab install. I am working on a fix.

Step 3 is needed if you want to use mobitv. You cant download it without that.
Right, I guess this is really a UK-only question, but Orange have this thing called Signal Boost, which routes your phone signal through any Wi-fi that you're connected to. So even if you have no signal whatsoever, as long as you have Wifi signal you have full signal. I have NO signal at the house I've just moved to, and NO signal at my new workplace, so having a phone contract for me now is pretty much useless.
Along came Orange Signal Boost, which I happened to notice one day on my Galaxy S II, which was a lifesaver. But I was pickpocketed last weekend whilst on holiday. To await the cheque from the insurance company I took the initiative and bought myself a Galaxy SIII with stock Orange ROM, and to my disgust Signal Boost is not on there.
This is NOT available in Google Play store or on the orange web site. It either in the ROM or not.
I've tried various Orange ROMs and none of them have it for the S III. Why would Orange stop making such an important piece of software?
I've been looking at other ways of getting it on there. I've used CWM, Odin and Mobile Odin so I'm OK with using these. Does anyone know of an alternative to Orange Signal Boost, or someone that's made it available for Galaxy S III?
This topic is covered on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432205 but it's from the time before the S III.
I can't get it to work, however I don't understand this line - "You have to Edit your build.prop to have this line rild.libpath=/system/lib/librilswitch.so"
Can someone explain how I would do this. My phone is rooted by the way. How do I edit this file?
Thanks for any advice on this, because as it stands now I'm gonna have to sell it on and get my hands on another S II.
You need to pay for an app called "rootexplorer" then it will be in "system", long hold and choose "open with text editor" then edit appropriate line. But in my opinion buddy, editing the build.prop could do more harm than good, me personally I would never edit my build.prop, I would get in touch with orange and ask them about the app that's missing. Of course its entirely up to you but I'd steer clear of the build.prop

OK, thanks for your advice. I've emailed Orange, but I doubt I'll get anywhere with that - I think they're generally quite useless with things like that.
I think I will give a go at editing the build.prop, because at the moment my phone is of limited use to me. First question, if I mess things up, I'd be able to do a factory restore and have the file restored, right? Or will reflashing not replace the file?
Secondly, before I go fiddling about, are we all sure that there is no alternative app I can install, one that can send my phone signal through my Wifi router? It's a shame that the whole world isn't using Viber then I wouldn't have a problem.

Yopu can actually do this without a paid app. You can either use a build.prop editor or solid file explorer which are both free in the market. I would advise to use build.prop editor as it is more user friendly and you can do a full backup of your build.prop before starting any modifications within the application. Links to applications bellow.
build.prop editor
Solid Explorer
For solid explorer follow above instructions, for build.prop editor, instructions bellow:
1 backup current build.prop
2 add new entry (top right icon)
3 Property Name = rild.libpath
4 Property Key = /system/lib/librilswitch.so
5 click the tick box in top right corner to save
6 exit build.prop and reboot your device
3&4 values taken from your comment
All changes have now been made and should be active.

Hey thanks for the step by step. I'm pretty sure I followed it exactly, but when I rebooted into CWM Recovery Mode and re-tried installing the Signal Boost zip file I still get the same error, which is...
E: Error in /sdcard/Signal_boost_uma.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
Any ideas?
I phoned Orange and the guy said that the Galaxy S III doesn't have Orange Signal Boost because it is not an UMA-compatible phone. He said that
1) Do you think he's accurate in what he's saying?
2) If so, d'you think that that's the reason why I can't get the zip file to install?
2) What makes one phone UMA-compatible and another not? Is it in the ROM? Does Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S III have UMA?
3) If UMA is a ROM thing, does anyone know of a custom ROM someone's done for the Galaxy S III that is UMA-compatible?
Thanks.

UMA - Unlicensed Mobile Access (or GAN - Generic Network Access as it is also known), is a hardware based feature. I would be surprised if this is not supported in the specifications of a modern handset. I am looking into the GS3 now and will have a proper look over the forum you mentioned. Though the error message looks like it's with the ZIP your trying to flash? Is this happening at the flashing stage? If so your zip may have been corrupted, if it is try downloading again and try again build.prop will have no influence over zip flashing.
[Update] The GS3 does support UMA, so it's the software side where the issue resides.

1. He's Inaccurate.
2. Would not affect the flashing of a zip file.
3. UMA is hardware dependent with supporting software obviously.
4. While this may have something to do with the ROM's themselves, i.e. it not being activated, though the above zip seems to onctain everything required to activate it, the lib files are the software libraries in android, sort of equivalent to drivers on a desktop.
