Weather bug?? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I just noticed that my current location for the weather widget has changed automatically to Orchard. I checked in the widget application, i had 7 cities listed but when i go to settings to remove it, i can find only 6. Looks like the Orchard location appeared as a ghost
Did anyone encounter this problem and does anyone has any idea how to remove this?
Problem solved : Please forgive me mod, looks like the problem dissapeared by itself after pressing a couple of times on updating.

Weather update

Sorry, another noobie question and I have tried searching but "weather update" didn't come up with meaningful threads. The weather on my Hero doesn't seem to update automatically unless I open the app itself ie the full screen widget and the one on the clock won't update. If I go into the app it starts to update. Is this normal, a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
it's a known issue; try adding your home town as a known location in the app, and then it should appear, and update, on the widget.

Reset weather widget

For some reason my weather widget when i'm at home always says 14 or current location, not the city name anymore. it has the correct name when i travel if i toggle gps and update the weather but never at home. is the anyway way to reset it clear the saved locations? I already tried the HTC weather widget in setting but all cache clearing options and the likes were grayed out. thanks for any help.
Quite common problem for users .... HTC and Verizon deny the problem exists though. I don't know of a definitive fix.
I figured out what it is, for me atleast. I use advanced task killer as im sure many eris users do (i know they say you dont need it but my eris can get sluggish with lots of apps running). I tried just not closing weather and it still gave me the issue, then on a whim I tried not closing the clock app as well. Voila! problem solved. It updates when I change position and the only apps I have running when idling are clock, weather, and atk.
That should solve it, just don't close out clock and weather and it should work.

For right now I wouldn't go force killing ANYTHING that was preinstalled on the phone when you got it. HTC Sense works in odd ways. As for me I only force kill apps that I put on the phone myself and I don't seem to have as many problems now (lockscreen lockups, jittery touch screen, touch screen not working).

[Q] weather shows wrong location - SOLVED

I know there are loads of threads concerning this issue, but I didn'find the solution in one of them.
The weather-widget on the hometab of my HD2 shows the wrong location. It shows the location in the settings-time/date tab, not the location that is acquired through the network. When entering the weathertab also the location in the settings-time/date tab is shown, and the correct location (with the correct weather) is one swipe down. So the location service seems to work properly, the weather is also updated fine, I only need to get the weather-widget to display the right location instead of the location in the settings-time/date tab.
I'm getting pretty annoyed by this bug, can someone help me out?
Okay, I feel a little stupid now.
I tapped the sun/moon on the homscreen to find the solution in the weather-widget. You can add, delete and organize locations there, but you can't set the location to be displayed. By tapping the clock instead of the sun/moon, you can set the locationto be displayed on the homescreen.
Problem solved!

Apps randomly disappearing and settings not saving?

Hello,
I've noticed recently that sometimes some apps on my homescreen disappear and I have to drag it back out from the app drawer. I've done some research and haven't found any real solutions accept for restoring the phone, of which I've tried. Why does this happen?! Also, some of my settings sometimes change themselves. For example, my text notification sound changed itself to something else 10 minutes ago. I changed it back to what I want, but cannot figure out why it changed in the first place.. This has happened a few times already. This is really unsettling. Is this some sort of software glitch? Thanks in advance!
My ringtone also just changed on it's on just now. What is going on??
Anyone???

Status Bar Bug

I'm facing weird issue which makes status bar always appear in white instead of adapting to the application color. This make status bar invisible at all in apps like chrome and google since these apps are in white. The emui apps like phone, contacts apps are intact and status bar appear as it should be. I have found that when I'm plugged it's working fine but after removing same issue appear again. I have tried applying default theme again, applying custom themes , removing updates from themes app but nothing seems to work. This issues appeared after trying some themes.
Any kind of help is highly appreciated
That's really weird I've never seen such an issue, IMO it looks pretty good like that!
I think that the only solution would be to factory reset the phone unfortunately....
Did factory reset recently and I'm in middle of sorting everything. Seems like that''s the only option
